I have never had a pizza like this, I also never had onion rings that were to my perfection like Lonnie's was. Kinda hard to spot this little place at first but, I'm glad I did. Going in, the place felt like a family ran business & where everyone knew each other. Taking a previous reviewer's advice, I tried the stuffed pizza (30 min wait) & was pretty impressed, considering I don't think most pizzeria joints can make a good stuffed pizza. Ordered the Supreme Pizza from this establishment on 8/19/2022. Upon arrival I noted a very clean shop with all the bells a whistles, friendly staff. Pizza was ready for pickup and I was on my way to enjoy some great pizza, or so I thought. Crust was very good like others have mentioned, but after the crust it was downhill sad to say. Where's the sauce? The application of the sauce was sort of like it was sprayed painted on. As to the toppings? Disappointment! The red onions were raw and overpowered the others flavors. The pepperoni was sliced less than a 1/16th of an inch and there wasn't much of it. The sausage was the typical little pellets (green pea size) that you get at a restaurant supply business that come in huge plastic bags - tasteless. Green peppers were raw, cheese was okay. Can't wait till the pizza shop across the street the Galley Restaurant starts selling pizzas again after being closed for a couple of years - love their pizza. Let me start with, "Wow!". In town for the night as we were flying out of OHare the next day. The reviews for Lonnies led us to place our order- a couple of salads, order of wings and a 16" Lonnies special with extra thin crust. Let me insert another "Wow!" So much food and each item was absolutely delicious. The price was reasonable, the delivery was prompt ( 40 minutes) and everyone we dealt with was so friendly. Just ok. Grew up in Chicago and loved the square cut thin crust. Ordered delivery so maybe that was the main reason the food suffered. The thin sausage and mushroom pizza was unremarkable. Nothing better than big chunks of fennel and garlic laced Chicago Italian Sausage, but none found here. The meat was just so so, mushrooms added no flavor and the cheese was quick to coagulate and slide off the slice when you took a bite. The Italian beef had generous amounts of meat, but it screamed for a side of au jus. Ordered it wet, but still needed an extra dip. Sadly not in a hurry to reorder read more

Called and placed and order which was fine, but when the delivery guy came to deliver the pizza, he never knocked on the door or better yet, rang the doorbell. Lonnie's is literally our holy grail thin crust pizza and we've tried a LOT of thin crust pizza places. Their sauce is perfectly balanced so it's not too sweet or over-seasoned. Highly recommend getting pepperoni and garlic, it's our favorite combo! Definitely a delivery or pick-up type spot if you've got more than two people because it's a tiny little joint inside! Delivery is consistently the fastest we've ever had and the pizza always arrives PIPING hot and perfectly in-tact! We can't wait for this pandemic to be over because the nice young gentleman that usually delivers to our house is really sweet and we miss seeing his polite and smiling face. haha I hope he reads this and knows who we are. Ordered through grubhub and wound up waiting almost 2 hours for delivery before giving up and going to mcdonald's. I couldn't get through to them, grubhub couldn't get through to them, it's sad that you can take an order and one's money but can't deliver on your product. The pizza is actually good but the lack of communication and keeping a fat guy from his food is intolerable. As much as I love their pizza they have lost a customer. Ordered five pizzas two were stuffed they were absolutely out of this world all my family loved them even the out of townees said "this is the best pizza in Chicago" great delivery service too! Great pizza - and some of the least expensive in the area. It's similar to most pizza places around here but the thin crust is really thin, which is perfect. The restaurant itself is as big as a CTA bus shelter so forget about taking up space while you hit on the cashier. Just get your food and get out. In fact, you should be prepared to go Daytona-500 pitstop at this place. Park in front, run inside, get your food, do a super-cool hood slide, jump back in the open window and hit the gas. I'd give this place the rare Yelp sixth star if someone from Lonnie's would wait on the sidewalk, catch the wadded-up bills I skyhook out of the driver-side window and throw the pizza on the passenger seat while I coast down Irving Park Road, yelling "keep the change" as my Tommy Bartlett Water Show bumper sticker grows smaller and smaller until it finally fades to black. read more

I drive pass this place every night after work. I decided to look them up and see the reviews. The reviews were good and the food looked good too. So, had my husband call to put the order in for me to pick it up on the way home. We wanted a deep dish and to try the panzoritii. The girl took the order incorrect. I recieved a thin crust and right off the back I knew something was wrong, because of the total and how long it took. Now we know a deep dish takes longer and cost more. It does not take 20 min to cook. I returned the order. I recieved an apology and they got right on it to make me a new pizza. Got home and the wait was worth it. The deep dish was so good. The customer service was wonderful and they took full responsibility for their mistake. I will definitely go back to get another pizza. read more

I promised my nephews a Pizza party and wanted to try something new closer to them so I ordered from Lonnie's based on a friend's recommendation and the reviews here and I was very pleased! I simply ordered a large extra thin crust cheese and sausage and it very good! The quality of ingredients was good, the cheese was a little bit greasy but not too bad nice thin crust with good crispy edges, great sausage and the price with delivery was very reasonable. Also nice to know they offer an 18" pizza which many do not. There is a lot of great pizza in Chicago and I'm always looking for a good extra thin crust. This review is not about the product but about the employees. THE DELIVERY DRIVER ALMOST RAN OVER MY 7 YEAR OLD NEPHEW. Driving 35mph at least down a street that is 5mph and through the ally!! I've passed by Lonnie's hundreds of times and always wondered how they can stay open when there is so much competition in the area. Tonight I decided to give Lonnie's a try. I ordered the fired chicken, I love fried chicken. I was told the order would be ready in 20 minutes. They were spot on. I walked into the place and I can smell the odor of burnt cooking oil. The known the smell of old oil, I had worked at our family restaurant for years as well as ran many fish frys for several years. I looked over the counter and saw the condition of the range, coated in grease and oil. The smell of burnt oil Permeates the place. I took my food home, the chicken was not bad, the cole slaw was excellent and the bread was good but the French fries were saturated with old cooking oil. I'm not trying to be mean and I believe in small business but this place needs to clean itself up. Clean the cooking surfaces and fryers. read more

I live near the neighborhood, always see this place crowded. Never understood why people wanted to go to such a small place and it looks dirty (from the outside). But the food is great and CHEAP. First time ordering and really disappointed. I ordered EXTRA THIN CRUST and what I got was not thick, but not thin either. Way too much dough, not enough sauce, not enough cheese.
