I love this neighborhood restaurant/bar! The staff are always 100% welcoming and fun! It's a great place during the day and Wednesday night trivia night is a newfound favorite! The food is actually pretty amazing. At night on Friday/Saturdays turns into a nightclub vibe after 9pm with dancing. Some people like that others don't. It just depends on your mood. My girlfriend and I came here for a night of dancing & fun as we had heard positive things about this place. I'm sure its a great place for straight people. NOT FOR US. This was truly one of the worst experiences of my life. It was impossible for us to get a drink even when the bar was completely empty. There was 1 bartender that was kind and attended to us. ALL other bartenders ignored us even when we tried to signal. When my girlfriend went to the bathroom, women in there moved so far away as if she was scum. When we were dancing on the dance floor, people moved off of it. We tried to ignore it for a little bit because we don't like to play the gay card. However, it was blatantly obvious when we left the dance floor and all of a sudden a rush of people jump onto it. Atmosphere was garbage. Service was garbage besides 1 male bartender. I've never felt so uncomfortable and discriminated against in my 30 years of life. Mind y'all- I'm a woman, gay, and a person of color. I will never return here again. What gives this place the 5th star? Papago Orange Blossom is on Tap. I think that's the best local beer and try and find places that supply it. This place is very nice and seems out of place. Very disappointed with our experience. I made a reservation here because of the advertisement thinking it would be a great spot for a fun brunch with a DJ for my birthday. However when we got there they tried to sit our party reservation outside during a heat warning. Also where you cannot even hear the music, they advertised that there is a DJ however there is no DJ. On their website they said it will be high energy with great music. The music was nothing special... kids all over the place. If your looking for something CHILL and to take your kids. This will be a place however if you are looking for a more fun party type of brunch this is not it. The waitress apologized giving us a heads up that they were super behind on drinks. They were short on the white claw buckets so had to wait even longer for those. They also advertise bottomless mimosas but they actually give you only 1 small cup at a time and they don't even fill that cup up. So each time you need a new one you have to wait around for the waitress to come back to ask for another, meanwhile "they are behind on drinks" so have to wait awhile for your next one. They should at least give you 2 at a time. Smh...The poor waitress was so stressed and I'm sure felt bad with how horrible the drink service was. Me and my friends were very disappointed and will not be back here for brunch. My wife who is Latina and bilingual was repeatedly insulted over her English while ordering. Funny thing is she ordered Latin items off of their menu. With 12 minutes left and the game tied, someone changed the channel. Went to the hostess who said the manager had changed it. Asked for the manager and was told he was in a meeting. At 6:30, during the dinner hour! Really! Watched the rest of the game on my phone. I ran out of BBQ sauce and asked for more. By the time it arrived, I had finished my meal. So we have dined at Lookout Tavern about 6 times and each time the food and service is very good . The French dip is excellent plus the chili. Not to mention the turkey sandwich and mozzarella sticks are good too. Our daughter loves the kids menu. Prices are not too bad either . Tired this place for the first time tonight. We ordered the cheddar burger, buffalo chicken salad and chicken fingers. The burger tasted like it was drenched in salt, absolutely disgusting. I honestly wouldn't even feed this to my dog. Threw it in the trash where it belongs. The salad was warm because it was delivered in the same bag as the hot food.... whoever did this deserves a genius award! Chicken fingers were dry and hard. We have eaten here once before on a Friday night and everything went pretty smoothly. Food was good and atmosphere was fun. We stopped in today on a Tuesday afternoon and they weren't busy at all. Service was a disaster. We had to take our drinks up to the bar to get our own refills as our server NEVER came back to our table the entire time. We also watched another table go up to the bar to pay as she never came to bring the check. It was super slow in the restaurant and no reason she couldn't check in. At the very end I commented to see if there was a reason for this poor service and she responded nonchalantly and acted as though nothing was wrong. Just frustrating because the whole meal we were looking for her instead of enjoying the lunch. A total bummer. read more

One waitress on duty to seat customers and serve 25-30 patrons. Long wait to be seated while she attended to three or four tables. Longer wait for beverages. REALLY long wait for food. We have come here twice and got exceptional service from Cortnie both times. She is not just friendly but also very attentive. The chef also came out with our food which was also great. The food was good and they were playing good music but our waitress kept "forgetting" to get back with us with some of our orders like drinks, refills, even a to go box through out the night. She didn't mention that with a party of 6 the tip was automatic so she ended up getting a $50 tip on a 175 bill. They don't give you a paper receipt unless you ask for it. Which is why we didn't see the added tip until after we gave her the added tip. Apparently, after we walked out, my daughter and her girlfriend went back in because they had such a good time and they wanted to continue having a good time. There was some other patrons that started giving them a hard time and calling security on them. The security kept harassing them and taking the word of the other patrons. The security guy could easily have stood back and seen that it was the other patrons giving the girls a hard time. The security guy ended up kicking my daughter and her girlfriend out! Before they left they talked to the manager and let him know what just happened to them. He apologized profusely and told them they could stay but by that time the feeling was gone. They just wanted the manager to know what their first experience at his restaurant was.
