You honestly either have a great or bad experience coming here and it all comes down to customer service. There's one boba-barista who is awesome and I'm so sad I didn't get her name, she was super helpful when it came to finding something my nephew would like. Today I came with my niece and sadly didn't get the same experience. I decided to get boba for my niece, dad, and I since it was the first time he was off in years. We stood off to the side to make sure of our order and I think only tripped up on whether or not my niece wanted boba in her drink. First off, the attitude on this boba-barista was super rude. I also work part time in customer service so I get that some days are rough, but be fr, don't work here if you can't stand your job please. You know it's bad when my 12-year-old niece is pointing out that she was rude without me having to say anything lol! On the menu the original Thai and milk teas come in 16 oz or 24 oz. I ordered a 24 oz original milk tea for my dad and a 16 oz Thai tea for myself. And without looking up she starts tapping on the 24 oz. Sighing, rolling her eyes, whatever. I ordered all three drinks 3/4 sweet, came home, and despite the actual boba pearls the drinks weren't sweet at all I used to push this place when my boyfriend visits and with friends but this was just a sour experience. I want to love this place but I don't, yet. We ordered the seasonal coconut Ube drink with boba. 1/2 sweet and 1/4 sweet was still entirely way too sweet. The drink itself was tasty and you can tell it's made with natural ingredients, not synthetic. My main gripe is with the boba. Our boba was hard and under cooked on the inside and very sticky on the outside. Major disappointment considering we came for a boba drink. Yes, prices are steep, but so is everything else at Food Lab. Will have to try again in hopes that the boba is better! read more
