A true Humboldt County classic! It's required that visitors experience the food and ambiance at Los Bagels. They have a small counter within The Depot at Cal Poly Humboldt but their bakery/cafés in Old Town Eureka and downtown Arcata are where it's really at. This special and unique bagel shop blends Jewish and Mexican recipes and traditions in wonderful ways. Service is always great as they guide you through choices. Some of my favorites include jalapeño bagels, whole wheat raisin bagels, and the slugs (long instead of round with seasoning sprinkles), toppings like their herb spread, local blackberry jam, and EVERYTHING is better with local fancy mustard dill Larupin Sauce! read more

I stopped by Los Bagels in Arcata, CA with my girlfriend for breakfast and coffee. We were heading up to the Redwoods and decided to stop here for a quick bite before continuing on our journey. I ordered the bagel Lox bagel sandwich and it was 10/10 - everything from the bagel to the smoked salmon was fresh and delicious. We both agreed that Los Bagels has some of the best bagels we've recently had! To top it off, the $3 latte deal was great value and tasted fantastic. The service at Los Bagels was excellent. Cleanliness is non-negotiable when you're handling food that people put in their mouths -- it's the bare minimum. The hygiene standards on display were deeply concerning and off-putting.
