Service horrible. Took FOREVER to get our order and food. Wanted dessert but afraid it would take 2 hours. The food was meh.

The food at Los Campadres Cantina was great and the host / service staff were all very kind and attentive. We were impressed by how many options the menu had and that everything was affordably priced for the quality and portion size. Our server, Morgan, was so friendly and made us feel very comfortable. She answered any and all questions that we had about the menu and gave us some great suggestions on what to order. The food came out quickly and we loved it! We'll definitely come again. Place is very clean. Staff is very nice. Food presentation was on point. We didn't wait too long to seat or for our food. Social distancing is in place. All of those things make it 5 stars. It's the food that brings the stars down. It's just bland. No taste. The enchiladas, the salsa, the tacos, the flautas. All very bland with no flavor. I've only had the Tex-Mex here and it's good not my favorite but good. The hot sauce is very good but the chips are just ok . The service is better than most and its a nice restaurant inside. Some of there other menu options like fajitas are probably good. read more

October 24 visited this restaurant. The staff was masked and the food was delicious. My complaint is that the restaurant was PACKED! The tables were too close together. The bar stools at the bar were too close together. Patrons came in UNMASKED and were greeting others with hugs and kisses. People were walking through the room without masks. We poured sanitizer all over our area and ate very quickly. We would not have stayed at all except we were starving. I recommend anyone who cherishes their health stay away until this restaurant realizes they have a responsibility to the health of their patrons to conform to the CDC guidelines with proper spacing and mask signs to do their part in curbing this virus. read more

Quite disappointing. During covid times the place was extremely overcrowded - I would've considered it to be crowded even pre covid- and extremely loud. The chips were extremely stale. A simple cocktail with two ingredients was undrinkable- the snapper couldn't even be cut with a knife. The price was absurdly high for the quality of food. They are not enforcing social distance rules. We were even asked to let somebody sit just next to us. Only two small digital menu that almost all customers have to share? The same pen to everybody to sign the bills. Is nonsense. We decided to leave and didn't eat. I am piss with this. It will cost the whole economy to shut down again. So sad. read more

My husband and I had lunch at Los Compadres today. Very nice, clean restaurant with a great menu. The staff was amazing, super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, but I have one complaint. My meal included a tamale, and I ordered pork. The little bit of pork that was in the tamale was delicious and very, very tender. The problem was that there was VERY little pork, and all masa. I would definitely go back, but probably would not order a tamale. read more

Social distancing was not observed. Does the ownership/management guarantee a COVID-free environment? Obviously, that isn't possible. 3rd experience here and still hasn't been a good one for me. My husband likes it, I haven't had a single good experience yet. First two times my food was not edible. 3rd time, they have a shrimp cocktail at 2 separate areas of their menu, so I think it must be pretty good. Went to order it and was told that it was available because it had not been prepped (sauce made) yet. It was 3:00 in the afternoon. If this dish is under your 'special' category, why wouldn't it be available for service? Strike 3 for me. UPDATE: guess my message was read and heard. Pretty popular place in Roanoke on a Friday night. Had about a 40K in wait. But once sat down waiter was quick and attentive. Excellent service. This time only 3 of us were here to try it out and the burrito dinner that my daughter had was good. But the thing is absurdly large. Son had the kids chicken flautas. He's 2 so that was a bit of a waste, but he did love him some beans and rice. I tried his flauta and I wasn't so much a fan but they are made there and good quality just not my thing. I had the shrimp tacos. I didn't read the menu well enough I guess I was expecting grilled shrimp and they are fried. Actually it wasn't what I was thinking of getting and I asked waiter for recommendation and he said they were very popular and he liked them. And they were very delicious, huge shrimp hand battered in a very good batter, almost tempura style. Over all a good experience. And nothing I can really complain about. read more

The only thing keeping this place from getting 5 stars is the service. The food is amazing. As everyone in Texas knows, you can tell a good Mexican food restaurant by their salsa. And their salsa is amazing. The only problem is it takes forever to get it and when you run out, you sit there for a while waiting on the server to return. Our first meal was the shrimp tacos and the enchiladas verde. Again, fantastic taste, but it took a while for the food to arrive and the server quickly disappeared before we could ask for more salsa and drinks. I hope this is just growing pains. But the management really needs someone on the floor directing staff and stepping in to insure guest are not sitting around wondering when their server will return. I will go back and recommend to my friends, but if the service does not improve, no restaurant is worth the kind of wait we are getting. read more

This place has good food, good drinks, good service, it's very clean and the pricing is in line with other Tex Mex places in the area. $17 for fajitas etc. And it has a covered outdoor patio area with fans (and heaters). We tried the beef and chicken fajitas with fresh made flour tortillas. Delicious! We also got the chips and queso and that was excellent to. We also picked up an order to go this week and the food was still warm when we got home thanks to the style of Togo containers they use. To start on a positive note, Los Compadres has a very nice aesthetic! The service & food was below par. They just opened so I can see more organization & I imagine they will improve over time! The staff was very friendly but they were over staffed so our table got overlooked initially. We got our chips & salsa very quickly but took forever to get our drinks. The chips were solid but the salsa was very bland, no spice. The queso was terrible. I ordered the snapper & it was pretty solid but still lacking flavor & spice. They completely forgot my friends entree & only brought her salad. But like I said I can see this place really improving once they get established. 4th time here. 1st time in 6 months. Decided to give it another try. Previous three were terrible. Mexican corn I could have done at my house. Enchiladas Mexicanas...the meat was like the bagged frozen steak fajita meat you buy at Wal Mart. Verdes was warm on outside cold on inside. Had a fantastic dinner experience tonight. It was busy, but the service was stellar. The chips and salsa were good. The plain queso was also good. My wife ordered cheese enchiladas. Their sauce was meaty, which was a nice compliment to the cheese. I had the al pastor and it was the best I've ever had. They asked corn or flour tortillas and I asked for both. The flour was definitely homemade and the corn was high quality. They also brought me three sauces (smokey salsa, Habanero, and a green jalapeño). All were good, but the habanero was delicious. I'm normally not a rice and bean guy, but both were great. The beans had a smokey flavor and had some sausage in it. We had the skillet pecan pie al a mode with bourbon sauce. Even though we were stuffed it was good enough that we finished it. Overall it was a great dining experience and living in Roanoke, this will be a spot we frequent. read more

Had dinner, beef fajitis and the house margaritas. The corn tortillas were the street tortillas and were extremely small for a dinner meal, and only got three, got four last time. The beef was tough and chewy and grisly. Talked to the waiter and had to asked for the chicken instead (he really did not know what to do). Within minutes, he comes out with the chicken, sizzling on the cast iron plate. This tells me the chicken is pre-cooked with the greasy onions. The sound of sizzling hot food is really pre-cooked food being reheated on a super hot iron plate. For $19, this meal was way too chintzy and felt like I had left overs instead of fresh food. Even the sides were barely enough to enjoy a fajita. The margaritas were good but for $10 each (was $6), this place is reminding me of Grapevine. Apparently, no manager was present. This place seems like it is following the latest trend to serve less, lower quality food at higher prices. I maybe able to save a few dollars and go out now and then but for $40 + tip, this is way too much for a meal. I am no longer a fan of this place and probably will not come back. read more

Wow is all I have to say!!!! This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in Texas and that's saying something! The salsa is amazing spicy but the flavor is immaculate. I got the barbacoa tacos and wow they did not disappoint the flavors were perfect. I have Frequented this restaurant many times over all great experience, today however ordered chicken fajita lunch and it came out had 4 slices of chicken maybe 3 inches long , employee i was with had the beef fajitas had about 6 to 7 pieces of meat. I advised this to the waiter his response was its smaller portions for lunch , i get that for sure. But 4 small pieces of chicken that was a joke , he came back and stated we can get you more chicken for $5 more ,i said no thanks. Over all my Vegetable fajitas were good minus any checking. Wife and I have been visiting this great restaurant for the last several years. Always a great experience with great food and service. Today was an exception with my wife ordering a mango margarita which she always ordered. Today she received a frozen regular margarita. When politely ask the server to send back he responded with the bartender said it was a mango margarita. My wife approached the bartender and polite said there is no mango in this and normally this has a high yellow appearance to the drink. The female bartender rudely said her is a taste of mix I put into the drink. Of course the sample was high yellow mango while the actual drink was green slushy in context. The bartender refused to make a new drink and actually told my wife to accept the drink she made. My wife politely refused. Our dinner turned into a happy birthday experience to a nightmare. We just moved to the area and this was our first Mexican place to try. Neither of us liked their beans but their brisket chimichanga was very good. The brisket was very tender. The salsa is a bit on the spicy side but I tamed mine down with some lemon juice. The table guacamole was excellent. I got it without jalapeños and had them add everything else, including the bacon. We both prefer white queso but this queso was still pretty good. Their peach tea is good too. read more
