Machaca Jalisco style. Really good. Handmade tortillas. Great service

Great find. Great service, they had hand made tortillas, the breakfast machaca was great.

    Steak Ranchero!

The frijoles and salsa to start was the eye opening reason we chose the right place for breakfast Our server was quick and friendly The horchata was great The chips were cooked here! The chili relleno and sauce was excellent The steak ranchero was absolutely P E R F E C T ! Such rich deep tomato and jalapeño flavor Again, the frijoles and rice and everything was R I C O EVERYTHING TASTED ABSOLUTELY HOME-COOKED, AND LARGE BEAUTIFUL PORTIONS. My only wish is that it was closer to the BAY AREA. If you are looking for a road trip for some great food and great service... This is a place! Be at Sacramento or the BAY AREA. We will definitely be in here again if and when in the area. Gracias to these guys!

The restaurant is located in a parking lot shared by a few other businesses just a few minutes off of i-5. The inside can fit about 50 people and is brightly decorated with authentic Mexican artwork. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was good. I had a birria and chicken al carbon taco. I thought both tasted pretty good. Neither were spicy and each had well seasoned meat. The consome is a must for the birria. My girlfriend got the nachos and I was pretty jealous of those because they looked great.

We stopped by while passing through town and it was highly recommended that we try Los Costenos for lunch. The service and food were very good. We both had the birria tacos. Some of the best Mexican food I have had in awhile. I will definitely stop in the next time I am in town.

The beans were delicious, that's how we knew that it was a good place to order food.

We are traveling from the Bay Area to Mount Shasta for a Glamping trip and, Wow! We were so fortunate to find this gem of a Mexican restaurant in Corning. We didn't was to eat the regular rest-stop fast food, and I am glad we took a chance and tried this. The beans were delicious, I took a picture after we devoured 2 plates of them. We ordered the mango habanero aguachile (amazing), ceviche de pescado & camarón tostadas (delicious), the appetizer coconut shrimp (yummy), the carne asada burrito (super good, it could have had more asada, but honestly their beans are so delicious it didn't matter), to finish off our son ordered the churro dessert... just look at the picture. Yes, it was as amazing as it looks, the perfect crunch and sweetness. The service was attentive and fast. The ambience was quiet, good for families, couples, and singles. Don't judge the restaurant by its outside worn out appearance. We are picky with our Mexican food, and this was authentic and delicious. I wasn't able to get a picture of the beans when the first came out or the burrito.

Come here a lot! Camarones Zarandeados Carne Asada Burrito Fajitas Steak Ranchero Chips Salsa Beer Michelada Everything we've tried and enjoyed and left satisfied! It's like sitting at home but we don't have to cook, serve, or cleanup! If you're driving through town it's a good place to stop and have a sit down relaxed meal!

Would come back to this place, the chips, salsa, and side of beans were nice. I ordered the chile rellenos plate (great), buddy grabbed a two item combo plate (good). Another had the queso birria tacos which were amazing. Service was ok, looked authentic.

As soon as I stepped inside Los Costenos I was greeted with a complex scent prominent with cinnamon and clove, apparently the lingering aroma of another diner's chicken mole. Seafood is the featured specialty though, with 6 or 8 varied shrimp dishes, and grilled Octopus with your choice of sauces. Meal prices are average, but the menu does include tacos a la carte, a very budget-friendly and enticing option. My son had chicken tacos with beans and rice, as he always does, which he enjoyed. I ordered the carnitas which was tasty but a little dry, and wished I had opted for the octopus after all. Next time Pupa for sure.

The food was okay. I got asada fries and they weren't that good. the chips tasted old, and the rice tastes old. The service was okay, the server came by once. The tables weren't being cleaned consistently as people were leaving, so leftover food sat on the tables around us the whole time we were in there.

    Mango margaritas. Yum.

It seems like maybe there have been some menu changes per past reviews and we had the pork chop, Brussels sprouts, and shotgun shrimp. The pork chop was one of the most tender I've ever had in a restaurant - I was impressed. I didn't feel like prices were too far out there compared to what it costs to eat out now. The staff was super attentive. Overall I think they deserve higher praise than what other reviews have given and maybe that's because they've been working on improvements.

The last few times we've come the older waiter has waited on us and he does not come out with specials etc. I was frustrated the time before last because I would've ordered a special vs what I did order. I only realized there were specials because of another waitress explaining the specials to her table. Yesterday, we make a reservation for three for dinner. We were sat immediately and brought water by a lovely woman. The same older waiter comes out and asks if we are ready to order? I said is there any specials tonight? He didn't even think to tell us the specials AGAIN! My husband and I order the ribeye meal as we are going to split it. Daughter got filet. Both steaks cooked medium rare. Her filet came out more medium & the ribeye we split was more rare. Not a big deal just uneven cooking between steak cuts. The real thing that pissed me off was the steak was not seasoned at all, it was grissely, chewy and the only seasoning was the garlic butter on top. The garlic mashed potatoes were not seasoned either other than a bit of garlic flavor - no butter or salt. As a steak house that charges $60 for a plate of food, the steak shouldn't be subpar in quality or taste. Very very disappointing. I'm a three strikes you're out girl and they have strike two! I could've gotten a better steak at Farwood in Orland. Do better! D-minus!

We were greeted immediately and asked if we had reservations, which we didn't but was graciously seated in a very short time. Our server was at our table with water and rolls in less than three minutes. She took our drink order and had them back to us quickly. The place was crowded but service was excellent! I had the rib eye and my wife had the grilled chicken. The dinners included salad plus two sides. We opted out of appetizers due to the amount of food offered on the menu. My steak was grilled perfectly as was my wife's chicken. I ordered glazed carrots as one of my sides and received fresh carrots in a sweet glaze (perfect)! Wife had asparagus and it was perfectly cooked. I didn't get pictures of the food because there was a baseball game on one tv and football on another! Sorry! The restaurant interior was classic steakhouse with a nice bar. We will go again!

Sadly my $59 Prime Rib had a LOT of fat, much more than I've ever had anywhere. Also they no longer offer baked potato as an option so instead I chose "loaded" mashed potato and I liked it. I also liked my asparagus as a side. One of our friends also ordered Prime Rib and also overall wasn't that happy with his and the fact of no baked potato bumbed him out as well. His 4 small limp carrots had a massive amount of cinnamon on them. The side salads that came with our Prime Rib were nice. The Caesar salad (with shrimp) that one of our friends ordered she found to be very disappointing with a massive amount of very small croutons. The Chef salad (with added steak) that my wife ordered also wasn't very good. The fried pickles chips weren't as good as their former fried pickles and for $9.50 we expected more of them. Note that we went on Saturday June 21st, 2025 the longest daylight of the year however they no longer offer/do outside seating for dinner. For their overall prices I would expect like most steakhouses that charge as much as Lassen currently does these days to have cloth napkins however Lassen only supplies cheap paper napkins. We live 1/2 hour away in Chico and have decided we'll no longer drive all the way to Vina's Lassen Steakhouse.

We finished the basket of chips, so Darian was nice enough to bring out another basket that were hot out of the fryer. Our entrees came out, and I couldn't beleive how beautiful my 3 large fish tacos were esp. on their colorful plate. The taco shells were soft homemade corn tortillas, & there was a hint of sweetness with the sauce. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Chicken Taco salad. It didn't look very large, but he ate the entire thing, and he was quite full. I too tasted the flour tortilla shell and we were both pretty happy that it was freshly made. Most restaurants either use old oil or make the shells days in advance so they end up being rancid and stale, but not this one. Jess, the owner, came out at one point to see how everything was. I told her the food was wonderful. I saw others commenting online about the prices being expensive, but I told her it's well worth paying a bit more for quality fresh food.
