    Chicken Chili Relleno
    Dave E.

Great dinner with granddaughter and boyfriend. Wife ordered a house Chardonnay which, as I understand it wasn't a Chardonnay but a white blend and I got the impression it was the only white they had. Seemed odd to me. The wine was okay. She ordered 2 Ala carte Chicken Enchiladas and I ordered the Chicken Chili Rellano SOFT. The crispy version is more traditional but I prefer the softer method. Although tasty it turned out a bit 'soupier' than I expected. Normally my Rellanos haven't included chicken so maybe that's why the 'soupier'. As a result it wasn't the greatest although ranking it as #3 on my top 10 list. The Enchiladas were just okay and curiously they were served on 2 separate plates. Perhaps it was because my wife asked for them ala carte.

First time here. Came on a Friday for lunch. The parking lot is large, so no problem finding a spot. We were welcomed in and seated. I was distracted by the person behind glass making the wonderful fresh tortillas. As homebrewers, my husband and I were interested in what their brew set up looked like. It was behind glass and visible from where we were seated. Always neat to see how a brewery is set up, no two are the same. Dulce took care of us. We started with chips and salsa. The chips were warm and the salsa was fresh with a nice kick. He got a taco plate with ground beef tacos, rice and beans. He paired that with the LDP IPA. He enjoyed his meal. I love Chile Rellenos, so that is what I chose for my lunch. It came smothered with their green chili and with some of those wonderful warm tortillas on the side. I paired mine with their Aqua Fresca, a slightly altered base of their Mexican Lager with the addition of Prickly Pear purée and Key Lime. It was refreshing and tasted like summer. I had half of my lunch to bring home with me. The view from where we sat was beautiful. I would come back.

Ate there sat 9/5 and 9/6/26. Bot days full of flies. 9/6 Sunday the worst had flies constantly on both arms while eating. Glass window to my left right at shoulder 3-5 flies constantly on it. Other side of glass was patio area glass windows were close at time were slid closed at time. Asked female waitress what's will all flies while I was eating. Other side of glass sliding windows were closed Didn't know they opened at any time. She said there opened in late after noon till closing. I said are you kidding me. She said people like fresh air at dinner. So every day when there opened evenings flies left over to next day. She said yes. I again said are you kidding me. She said no she came to my table at least 5 or 6 times every time had flies on flies on her forehead have move away with her hand. This all right with you, she stated of course not Can I speak to to runs this whole place or owner, she stated manager would be in hour later. I was there brunch Sunday 9am brunch Lunch sat at 12;00 noon. I was upset. Told here this awful and unreasonable. I might as well be eating in junkyard or street somewhere. Told her been eating there 2 yrs now since in Moving to castle rock and would not be back with family. Sliding doors should never be open. People want fresh air she eat outside patio oh have lave lunch in park. She didn't charge me for brunch. Said for me to come back give them another chance. I think not. Previous time eating there place always crowded. Last 2 times place empty on Sunday. Half empty on day before sat. I Could see why !! I will go to next Mexican restaurant next level on hill above them. Give the my business. See if that restaurant full of flies when I walk in. I will leave immediately! I'm gonna call health department on them lousy manager and owner should get off their penguin butts! Plus with open balcony someone cold throw beer bottle from that height. Or crazy kind that don't behave here In Castle Rock could climb over railing to their death long way down. You should see the view. If you're been there you know what I'm talking about. The service is excellent, the Ambiance is as if you are South of the Border and our food was good. We ordered the Menudo, after taking a couple of bites we added the accompanying spices the Menudo tasted good. We are going to have to come back and sample the diner menu.

Had our first visit to Los Dos Potrillos and a bit on the fence. The staff is incredibly friendly and the building/views are beautiful! It's so nice, bright, and comfortable. I really liked getting to see their brewery set up as well. The food was just ok- I ordered the taquitos and my husband ordered some tacos. The chips and salsa were tasty. I ordered combo taquitos and they didn't come out correctly, but the staff was really great about fixing it for me. The taquitos were nice and crispy and I like that they came with green chili for dipping. My main concern was that the meat didn't have much flavor- not wrong per se, just not great. My husband felt the same about his tacos. I'm willing to come back and try something else on the menu as some things were pretty good but I don't know that I'd go out of my way to eat here.

    Chicken mole

I usually get the mole chicken and today was super soupy looking and didn't taste quite right. We have been coming more and more frequently and today was just okay. Might have to change what I order next time. Normally would rate this 5 stars

We arrived at noon for a weekday lunch. I had a huge combo plate that provided lots of yummy leftovers. The Castle Rock location is the fifth & newest to open. The other restaurant locations are in Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Parker & Denver. This is a family run business where everything is made from scratch. The restaurant was named after his (Jose Ramirez) two sons, it means two young horses. This lively restaurant is beautifully decorated with high ceilings & fantastic views. However, the place was very loud, it was difficult to hear one another in conversation. This restaurant even has an on-site brewery! Plus plenty of parking. We started with complimentary chips & salsa. The chips were good but need salt & the salsa was delicious. I had the combo #10 that included three items & I added a couple of tortillas to the meal for $2. The crispy Chile Relleno was cheesy & really crisp, it had a wonderful sauce. It was outstanding & my favorite. The smothered Beef & Bean Burrito was very good as well. The Cheese Enchilada was good, however I thought the sauce was too tomatoey. The service was great & it was a great meal!

Excellent date night spot. It was a bit too loud out where we were seated but it got quieter when the crying screaming kids left. It was busy for a Tuesday but we didn't mind waiting half an hour to get seated. The hostess at the front was very welcoming and nice and so was our server. I look forward to coming back and trying other things on their menu. The outdoor view is very pretty and I'd like to come during the day time to see the view.

We come here at least once every two weeks. Always have the best time! The staff, the food, the drinks are always on point and the restaurant is bustling. Perfect ambiance for weekend vibes! I am a regular for the house margarita with Tajín and Monterrey Chicken. If you are a queso lover, don't forget to add chorizo, you're welcome!!

Second time to this location after the first time soon after their opening wasn't so good. It's a little crazy that they seem to always be busy. We showed up before 5 on a Saturday, and there was already a 30 min wait. We managed to find two seats at the bar, so we just did that rather than wait for a table. Service at the bar was a little hit or miss. We eventually ordered our drinks. I liked both porters, so I went with the Piper's, but could've gotten the coffee, while my daughter had a strawberry margarita. Beer was good; she liked her marg but wasn't sure it had much alcohol in it. We each got the combo chicken and steak fajitas, which were fairly large and very good. Tortillas and guacamole are good, but rice and beans are just fair. I'd definitely come back for the food; however, I wish the waits weren't as long and the service was a bit more attentive from the start.

My second time back! Now that I know what to order, it's hard to have a bad experience here. My friend and I shared the Carne Asada burrito, which made for perfect portions! Even then, we still had leftovers. The chips and salsa are very filling!

My wife and I each started with a glass of wine, and then even though we hadn't planned to get an appetizer, we decided to order a side of bread with oil. The bread was amazing! It was a large order, and both the consistency and flavor were fantastic. There were a few different dishes I was considering, including the halibut, but since this was our first visit, I decided to go with the chicken Marsala, which many on here have raved about. First, it was a big portion with two large chicken breasts. On a future visit, my wife and I could split an appetizer or salad and then one order of the chicken. Next, flavor of everything was wonderful. Unlike a typical Marsala, which can be very heavy and overpowering, this sauce was lighter...in color, consistency, and taste. It was a perfect compliment to the chicken. Asparagus and potatoes were delicious too. My wife got the ravioli with pesto, and she really enjoyed her dish as well. Service was warm, pleasant, there when we needed it, but not overpowering, exactly what you'd hope for and expect from a restaurant of this stature. Very happy we finally got here. We'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

I don't know where "reviewer" Keven went four months ago, but both interior & exterior looked brand new, so his references about shabby furniture are confounding. What he described simply didn't exist. The waitstaff was attentive and polite, and each course arrived within a reasonable time. As for the food, it was excellent. We had an appetizer of baked Brie and prosciutto, that was served with a spicy peach reduction meant to be spread on the toast quarters that accompanied the dish. The pastas were all fresh and prepared al dente, which is the correct way to prepare pasta, and there were a variety of sauces available for those who might want to change up the menu selections. I have absolutely no idea what these folks were talking about when they mentioned specifics available on the menu that they found wanting. Reading their criticisms, It was like they went to a different establishment. Whatever the disconnect, there is no question that Danielle's is a cut above most restaurants and well worth the extra price. If one wants food that tastes like the old country, then one has to pay a bit more for the experience when here in the US.

When we arrived, they weren't prepared and quickly pulled a table together but missed a chair and setup. This is simple but speaks to oversight and lack of attentiveness. After borrowing a chair from another table, our group sat down and no later than 30 seconds our server was asking what drinks we wanted to order. It would have been helpful to point out the drink menu or give a recommendation versus demanding to know what we wanted. The interior is noisy and covered in carpet. Over half of our orders came out wrong- wrong protein on the wrong plate with wrong side. And to top it all off, did the kitchen lose their seasoning rack? Nothing was seasoned. The steaks were a poor cut, overcooked, the poor vegetables looked like they were boiled and thrown in a serving bowl, and the baked potatoes were either straight up plain or obviously sitting under a heat lamp because the cheese was dried. I envisioned the kitchen cooking in silo, throwing their portions on a plate with no consideration of the whole meal. It's giving cafeteria food. When we go out, we measure quality by evaluating whether we could cook it as well at home. This failed by a significant margin. I'd love to support local restaurants but at this price point and lack of quality, we'll try elsewhere, anywhere but here.

What a unique restaurant... inside a restored 1888 stone church. They kept the original stained glass windows, the choir loft & the confessional booth making this one of the most interesting restaurants. The dining area was cozy - not many tables & chairs. Our table was too small for four adults with bread, apps & dinner plates. However, our server was great, very attentive. Always near to clear plates, friendly & fast service. We started with bread & Italian salsa. The bread was good but the salsa was even better. It was fantastic & full of flavor. Next, for apps we had the Meatballs & Fried Calamari. The meatballs needed more seasoning & the sauce was bland. The calamari was rubbery & chewy. The Lemon Aioli that came with it was tasty. Our entrees were the Chicken Parm & the Crab Stuffed Shrimp with Linguine & Sauce. The portion sizes were big. The chicken was prepared nicely & was tender. The sauce unfortunately was bland. Same with the shrimp dish, it needed more seasoning, I didn't taste the crab & the lemon butter sauce had too much garlic for me. Perhaps our meal was a one off. Their menu is extensive & I will give them another try...the Lobster Ravioli sounds good. Note, on the other side of the restaurant is a pizzeria, called Slice Works, with a dining room & outdoor patio. I will try this as well.

She was given a table near the S. patio exit right next to the double doors (Literally the table straddled one of the patio doors). As I pulled into the parking lot of Savina exactly 4: 20, I called my friend to let her know I'd arrived. She stated she would meet me outside. As my friend exited to meet me in the parking lot, she told both a server and the Host at the front desk that she would return shortly. Upon re-entering there were approximately 3 or 4 employees at the front host desk. NOT one of them acknowledged our entering, NO 'hello, can we help you, or friendly smile', although, they chatted amongst themselves as they kept their eyes on their respective cell phones. As we made ourselves back to our table the view was breathtaking. Both my friend and I proceeded outside to wonder the 360-degree view, spectacular. Finally, we returned to the table after a few pics, within a 10min window of having met me out front. I didn't really pay attention to the location of our table except when I tried to squeeze myself between the other table where two elderly women were seated. I excused myself as I attempted to get comfortable, to my surprise they acknowledge, and yet ignored me. I politely mentioned how crowded it was for me to accommodate myself. My plea fell on DEAF ears as they snubbed me (in their defense -both were blue haired possibly hard of hearing or just rude). Therefore, I sat on the same side of the rectangular table, as I could not sit comfortably opposite my girl. As we sipped our water several servers passed us, we had a few chips and salsa at the table while sitting patiently. Within the 5-7 minutes, I attempted to get anyone of the servers' attention, the dining-area was steady but not crazy. At which I again wondered why we were seated in such a poor spot (both our chairs clearly blocked the pathway to the outside) somewhat an emergency or fire hazard. I scanned the dining area, and more than half the dining patio tables were empty. I finally got a young waiter's attention and asked if we could order a drink or move to another spot, perhaps the bar itself. As I spoke a young lady-server approached. She stated that she was our server, then stated "I thought you left", I didn't think you were coming back". Not offering to serve us, but surprised we were back- 'NO apology or 'what may I bring or help you with?' I asked again, would it be possible to get another table, or better yet sit at the bar. We were told that the inside bar was available but NO offer to help accomodate. I offered to pay for the chips and salsa... Young lady stated, NO Charge, I placed $5.00 on the table anyhow. As we made our way toward the bar, the server did not offer to help carry our water, chips or salsa to the table. By this time, it was closer to 5pm and the actual bar was crowded with no seats available... Yet again NO server to offer us another place to be seated. I would've thought she would have followed us to help or communicate our predicament to the host or other servers in the bar area. Frustrated, thirsty and hungry, we found ourselves in the parking lot deciding where else we might choose to dine. I'm writing this to express just how indifferent the staff was upon entering and leaving your establishment. I say this because as we walked out... AGAIN, NOT a single host, waiter employee at the front desk said, 'goodbye, thank you, see you soon', how was everything?' I currently work for HCA medical in Englewood and was given the recommendation to dine here by my director. I've worked in both food and beverage and the Hospitality field for over 40 years, currently as a hospital administrator. I was truly looking forward to seeing my friend and enjoying my Birthday meal. The few chips and bit of salsa were tasty. Hell, you can get good chips and salsa at 90 percent of the Spanish or Mexican restaurants in Colorado! Yet, POOR service is what shuts down 90 percent of restaurants. Not sure I will give Savina in Castle Pines a second chance, possibly give Denver's location a try. PS. I returned to my vehicle having left it in the parking lot... I needed the men's bathroom; I purposely went into Savina, finding NO one at the front desk. However, on my way out from using the facilities, one of the young hosts called out 'goodbye'. This 2 hours after dining at Los Dos Potrillos up the road. (Which was Wonderful, service, food and tequila)! We stopped in for brunch and everything we ordered was really good, but the Breakfast Hangover Burger completely stole the show for me. A burger topped with smoked ham, an over easy egg, avocado, American cheese, jalapeños, fried onion straws, and sriracha aioli sounds like someone lost a bet and just kept adding ingredients. Somehow it all works perfectly. We also ordered the Monte Cristo, which was crispy, cheesy, and exactly what I want when I order a Monte Cristo. Another highlight weee the donuts. Fresh, hot, and perfect for sharing. The service was great, the food came out quickly, and the whole experience was just really enjoyable. Definitely worth the trip.

As I have the past several times here, I went with the egg and carnitas tacos. I added a side of fresh fruit...both the eggs and fruit were very good. As the Benedict my wife loved is no longer on the menu, she had the avocado toast with eggs. She added a large size of the breakfast potatoes and was glad she did. While she liked the taste of the avocado toast, she was very disappointed in the small size of the portion. She wish she had more. One daughter had the Mardi Gras omelette for the first time. While she liked the flavor, the fact that the ham was a full slice (lunchmeat style), as opposed to chunks or cubes, was weird...and required cutting with a knife. The other daughter tried the quiche for the first time and loved it. It is one of the better quiches around. Coffee is very good as well. Service was fine for the most part.
