We finally visited this location last month. Very nice location and view, food was yummy as always at other Los Dos restaurants. The menu is large with tons of options. Went to the new location in Castle Rock last week. Waited the 90 mins that the wait was for that night, after the 90 mins had passed we were told it would be another 30 min plus as there were 16 groups of people in front of us. Had to say to them that others that had shown up after us and were seated before us, all same party size or larger. We were a group of four. We were finally seated after a 10 min let's see what we can do you for you. Our wait staff was confusing as we had three to four different wait staff that tried taking our order after the first person had already done so. We received our food in a timely manner and the quality of our food was ok, quantity of food more than expected. My wife's fajitas could have feed two or more people. That was a nice surprise. Everyone else food was filling and decent. What I am more concerned about is the consistency of the product. Went to the bar and ordered two drinks a simple bottled beer and a skinny or Coin marg. It took the bar tender almost 6 min to find a bottle opener to open the beer all the while one of the other bar tenders had it their back pocket. Not sure why the bar would only have one bottle opener. Now for the Skinny(Coin) marg. This is a simple drink to make with four ingredients, Tequila, Controu, Agave and Lime juice. This was poured out of a bottle straight over Ice. I ask if they were going to pour Tequila in it and they said it was already in there. After tasting it, that was a barely there kind of thing. This was repeated as others also order a skinny marg all being poured from a bottle. For a place that has several other Colorado locations, and witnessing how they ran this place. I am surprised they are still around. It will be a while before I go back try again as they have a lot to work on to be consistent and provide a quality product that draws people back. read more

Very tasty, and I don't even really like Mexican food. The salsa has some dried chili flavors along with the fresh tomatoes.

Not being able to make a reservation is dumb, way too loud and the food is decent at best.

Three stars for this place is generous. We went there because we believed the hype, but this is just your basic Mexican place. It's just new. I had the chimichanga, and it was pretty good, a lot of food. Chips were good and salsa was delicious. But the prices are outrageous. My friend got this green soup stuff that was disgusting. And, they got his wife's order completely wrong, and when she said it was wrong, the waiter tried to talk her into just keeping it! The food is very spicy; I like that, but my friend did not. And, don't get me started on the fried ice cream because there is no fried ice cream served at this restaurant. It is a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a piece of Fry bread or "sopapilla", if you can call it that, with some mushy rice crispies on top. It is not fried ice cream. Whoever's making the fried ice cream needs a new recipe. It looks like it came out of a kids cookbook. And, then at the end of the meal, the server does the whole "there's a few questions thing", hands us the payment device, and pretty much begs us for money for tips and the machine was set at 25% tip. I am not leaving at 25% tip ever. That is outrageous. Tipping is out of control in his country, especially in Colorado. I wish tipping would just go away. You're lucky I gave a tip at all. A good 15% is good enough for any place that I go. There's even an option for 30%. Who the crap is going to leave a 30% tip for basic Mexican food. There is no difference between asking for tips and begging on the side of the road with a sign. But that being said, they did offer to fix an order they got wrong, they did take the fried ice creams off the bill, and the chips, salsa, and drinks were refilled often. read more

We went last night and only because we love the Los Dos in Parker. This one had a1 hour 40 minute wait, so we did. Tried to set outside by the fire pit but had food and what looked to be thrown up food in several Places. Yuck! When we were finally sat on the back inside patio, the water arrived with very little ice and so the water was warm. Should have taken All this as a first clue! When our waiter arrived after 25 minutes we asked for more water with a lot of ice. Then placed our drink order and food order. We got the food after 40 minutes and the meat on my daughter's steak street tacos was literally cold! My quesadillas were not even warm any longer, the cheese had set and looked like day old pizza. My son got his plate of tamales and it was luke warm. I ate one of the cheese and chicken Quesadillas and gave up.He ate his meal and we finally flagged down our waiter to have him remake the street tacos. When they were returned to her 20 minutes later they were still cold! We asked for a manager Michael and explained our disappointment. Her tacos were then remade and returned to her in 15 minutes, this time raw and not warm again? We gave up! Spoke to the manager again and asked to have them removed from the bill. He actually said " I know your meal was cold but do you want to take the rest home with you"? Are you kidding me? I paid with cash, no tip and told the waiter he needed to speak to his food runners and do a better job. This was a mess from the beginning with the vomit outside to the cold food. Do they not test the meat temp before serving? People will get sick! Possibly the health department needs to inspect this location? Extremely disappointed in everything about this location. We came here on a Saturday evening, after the rush. Very disappointed with how much our neighbors rave about this place. I ordered the Shrimp and Steak Fajitas and my husband had the enchiladas. His came out decent. My fajitas, especially the shrimp were too spicy. I couldn't eat them. Too overpowering. Drinks and service were very, very slow. Felt ignored being in the back of the restaurant. Server wasn't attentive and we just gave up after flagging down others for service. Don't see what the hype is about this place. I never do yelp reviews, but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had from staff at a restaurant. Our server was very disrespectful when there was some confusion about there ID policy. After we believed the problem was resolved, the MANAGER comes over and proceeds to tell us WE have a bad attitude and she will explain there policy to us. We stated we don't need to hear the policy, we understand and it's no problem. We continuously tell the MANAGER to please leave our table, and she proceeds to escalate the situation. I have never been so flabbergasted by this type of behavior and service from restaurant staff. To top it off, we ordered adobada tacos but received a pork chop with watery salsa and cold beans. And the service is great until they get busy then the bartenders spend so much time taking walk up bar orders that you can't even get food service or a drink refill. Brand New to Castle Rock!! They already have locations in Centenniel, Highlands Ranch, Parker and Littleton. This Castle Rock location is really good looking and very large. Great sweeping views also. A group of 4 ladies went in for lunch and I was impressed by how smoothly things looked to be running given they opened just 3 days prior. I want to give a big shoutout to our Food Server: Carlos and our Bartender: JR. Both were so friendly and very extremely helpful. They went above and beyond to help us with all margarita questions and gave us menu suggestions. Salsa is delicious but muy caliente. If you have a problem with a lot of heat, they do have a milder version. The bar is a very nice, large area with large windows as well for some really great views. Between the 4 of us we ordered: Chicken Street Tacos, Chicken Stuffed Sopapilla, Barbacoa Enchiladas (only avail Mon-Thurs) and Shrimp Burrito. Large portions, we had to take leftovers home. Green chili sauce is also spicy but extremely delicious. Being open for such a short time we were very impressed with the taste, quality and service. Visited first time since this place opened. As a local Castle Rock resident, I was not greeted when there was open seating and I sat down. Over 10 minutes went by before I was greeted by a bar back. Finally got a glass of water after asking a bar-back, then had to get my own menu from another table. I eventually got someone's attention and he spoke only broken English. I ordered the Molcajete Volcanic Stone and it looked good but was served with only one not two shrimp, and the chicken steak and pork were overcooked. There was no beans or rice as the menu described. Almost cooked well done, very dry. As if it was not fresh and had set on grill for a long time. Will consider visiting again. read more

At the end: I explained to the manager how I felt about my experience and I was met with a very skeptical/ judgy eyes and snappy reactions. The manager also addressed nothing about the poor service received. I paid for all of my meal minus one item, as this what the manager claimed would address what I had described. The experience was rough and unenjoyable.
