The tacos here were delicious!! A bit on the pricey side but worth it!! Quick service, place was pretty busy but the line moves, plenty of high tables to eat inside!! Love the all you can take limes, sauces, tomatoes/onions toppings. Atmosphere was nice as well!! I'll be back for more yumminess!!!

I need to extend my review and talk about the extreme quality of the breakfast burrito. Open form 8-11 in-front of the brick and mortar the 4 options of pre-made burritos for $7 a pop are awesome. Same great tortilla with eggs and a tasty salsa. The chorizo is a must and the service is so friendly and quick.

What a great experience. Line was super quick, staff friendly and restaurant was clean. Especially for NYC Greta pricing on the tacos! Favorite was the pork then chicken then steak. Pro tip if you are going to wait at line at kith at least wait with some good tacos in hand packed with flavor get it all the way and don't forget that lime and an iced cool Bev!

Yummy! We had cactus, pork, and chicken tacos with all the toppings and they were all delicious! The staff here is quick, and knows how to move people efficiently. You eat standing which was perfectly okay with us. We fueled up and then continued our adventures in NYC.

Wait was only a few people and we ordered within 5 min. Service was friendly and efficient. We got the pollo asado, carne asada, and adobado. They were all so good and just the right amount of pineapple. We found a space inside to eat comfortably. Yum!

I loooveeed the Smokey flavor that the carne asada has and their adobada has a kick to it! I really enjoy pico de gallo so when I saw that they had it at their salsa bar, I was so happy! I will say it's pretty expensive (shocking to say because I was used to tacos el gordo price) so I wouldn't come here too often but it's a good eat once in a while. The place was kept really clean and the workers seemed attentive.

We were thinking of trying Los Tacos No. 1 since they're famous for having one of the best tacos that made the top 100 list on Yelp (#5). It was only a 10-minute walk from our hotel to this location. So we made a point to come here, and we couldn't wait to be wowed by them! The line was short, so we were able to place an order quickly. No seating here. Just standing. Got our chicken and beef tacos in a matter of minutes. Sadly, our tiny tacos were underwhelming to say the least. $5 for a small taco that's about 3-4 bites big. It tasted average. Why is this spot so popular? Is Mexican food scarce in New York City?! Now, I live in an area where tacos are made well and much larger than these. So I didn't find their tacos tasting any better than what I could get at home. Unless this location isn't doing them justice, I don't understand why they're on the list. It's edible, but not incredible. And disappointing!

I know I will probably take a lot of heat for this review but being born and raised in California, you gotta admit that we are spoiled with damn good Mexican food. Facts are facts and cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and many others in California have been known to make the best tacos in the United States. Some might ask why I am trying tacos in New York City? Well, me being an avid Yelper, I just had to taste what all the fuss was about. Especially when this place made it to #5 of best tacos in the COUNTRY. Hmmm, I beg to differ. Located at the corner of Lafayette St & Bleeker St., this "Los Tacos No. 1" sits in the heart of the NoHo District of New York City. This is one of the newer locations as they have been opened since early-2022. Depending when you're reading this review, that might have been recently or a very long time ago. As of late-2025, Los Tacos No. 1 currently has a total of 7 locations that are all in the Lower Manhattan area. And interestingly enough, the founders of this franchise are from Tijuana, Mexico & Brawley, CA (close to the US/Mexico border) so this place must be truly authentic and amazing. Anyhow, I came here to meet with a friend (who was also visiting NYC) during the evening of Monday 10/13/2025 at around 9:30pm. Their hours of operation are quite generous as they are open 7 days a week; Monday-Saturday from 11am-11pm and Sunday from 11am-10pm. As for the interior layout, they are quite spacious BUT there are no actual seats to sit your tush on! Furthermore, there are no tables but actual tiled countertops where you stand and eat your food. I think the reason behind this is to not have customers get too comfortable by sitting down and socializing with one another. I could be wrong but that is my guess. The ordering process here is quite unique as you tell the cashier what you want whether it is a taco, tostada, quesadilla, or mulita and if you wish to opt for corn or flour tortillas. Since it was late in the evening, I opted for one "Carne Asada" taco and one "Pollo Asado" taco. Once assembled with the protein of your choice, you then show your ticket to the guys that made your food then tell them which add-ons you'd like; in this case, it is onions, cilantro, salsa, and guacamole. After receiving your food, there is a separate condiment area where they carry radishes, limes, and other various toppings to add-on. As for the taste and I am being very critical here, did not quite meet my expectations. The seasoning in the tacos was good but not great as I've had way better at the little rinky-dink taquerias on the west coast. The guacamole was more of a creamy texture (like those Wholly Guacamole containers) while lacking the rest of the ingredients that make guacamole what it is. But IF you're from the east coast and have not tried amazing tacos, you will probably enjoy this place. On a good note, "Los Tacos No. 1" was a decent place; the food was fresh and service was quite and attentive. But just not for me. My rating, just an average three stars.

I really enjoyed my experience here. Fast service, yummy food, clean and efficient. If you're looking for a leisurely sit down spot, this isn't it. If you want great food, quickly, at a fair price? This is the spot. Pro tip: The horchata is the perfect beverage to help cool down your mouth from the spicy salsa.

Is this is a Michelin star restaurant? No, this is better. This chain put's the food in fast food. While it's not your go to ma and pa restaurant... this is closer to a taco truck than taco bell (obviously) The prices I wish could be lower but I don't mind for the quickness/convenience to get food in my mouth within 5 mins and be out and about in another 5. I'll be back stumbling in for a bite to eat late night.

I'm a Houston girl so when I say this taco is gooooddd, I mean it! I got the opportunity to hit this spot up twice on my visit... and I still miss you. Don't sleep on the especial. The shell is perfectly crunchy and filled with gooey cheese in addition to your meat of choice. I also tried the pork taco which was fire. I think what sealed the deal for me was the toppings. I'm all about that sauce, and they have different sauces for each taco which also come with the appropriate veggies. There is also extra salsa and pico available self-serve. So get in that line and get you some tacos. If you were sad before, you won't be sad when you leave! Te amo!

Went around 12pm on Saturday and there was a short line. Ordered on the left line and handed in my ticket order for pick up on the right line. Service was quick and easy. The carne asada was highly recommended and it deserves all the hype. It was super juicy and delicious. However, I don't know how often I would come back because it's $6 for one taco, not including tax and tip. I liked the toppings bar on the right side of the restaurant. It has different salsas, dried chilis, and radishes to customize your order.

I would highly recommend los tacos in any of their locations when visiting New York City! We have visited both this location and the one in Chelsea market, and it will never disappoint. The tacos are fabulous, tasty and just truly a wonderful experience. The servers always have a smile, no matter how how busy they are. The Carnitas are cooked to perfection, simmered slowly and perfectly flavored. I think my favorite part of having tacos here are the fresh, made to order tortillas. Both corn and flour tortillas are fantastic, a 10/10.

Ask the Community - Los Tacos No.1

I asked whether they have indoor seating and got two opposite answers. Can someone settle this question? Maybe there are several Los Tacos locations with different seating possibilities. I was asking about the one in the Village on Lafayette St.

Hi Elizaeth L, Thank you for your question! Our establishments do not have tables to sit at, instead, it is more of a stand-and-eat environment. You are welcome to visit our Chelsea Market location which offers outdoor seating for the whole market.…

Does this place have any indoor seating?

There are standing tables only. This is the format in all Los tacos No.1. Check out the 📸 for reference.

The prices listed for the tacos are for one taco?

Yes!

I LOVE Los Tacos No. 1. The owners are from Tijuana & went back to learn the recipes. I haven't…read morefound tortillas or meat as fresh & tasty as this, even in NYC's outer boroughs (mostly Puebla-style I'm told). This location is convenient to Grand Central, Bryant Park, & Times Square. I was excited to find them after a getting off the Metro North. Unfortunately, the two times that I've eaten there hasn't been great, compared to their other locations in NoHo & Union Square. I'm not sure if the more touristy ambiance & customers makes a difference. First visit got the Pork Adobada Taco ($5-ish). It's similar to Al Pastor (even served with a few pieces of pineapple) but spicy. It's pork marinated in an adobo sauce made from dried red chiles (like guajillo or ancho), vinegar, garlic, and spices. The corn tortilla was very fresh & good but the pork was SO spicy. Some kind of chili oil was drizzled on, in, within, at the bottom. It comes with a sort of green crema. I barely finished - thought it was a joke or something. The second visit I got the Adobada (requested Zero spice) & a Chicken taco. The pork meat was delicious & reminded me of the first time I had Los Tacos No. 1. The chicken seemed like dark meat & was either over-marinated, slightly undercooked, or on its way out? resulting in weird mushy, slightly liver-like consistency. I even picked through the pieces to check for pinkness...the meat was just dark with little flavor. It came with a dollop of guacamole that didn't have much flavor. The corn tortillas also seemed slightly mealy/mushy & underdone. They weren't airy & slightly puffed as usual. I'll probably go back because their location and cost is convenient. But have to make sure the pork has No Spice & not sure how to ask for "done" tortillas. There's always a line at Los Tacos but it moves fast. The condiments & radishes, limes are always fresh. The staff is always pleasant & work quickly customizing your taco, wiping down the All White! hightops & refilling napkins. Don't think there's a restroom FYI.

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

The birria tacos were really good (or so my son said) but sadly the taquitos were terrible. They literally just had unseasoned shredded chicken (but serves me right for ordering something so basic). The energy was flat, and that lack of enthusiasm carried right into the food. The menu needs a complete overhaul. I'm not sure if it's trying to be "different," but the taco options were unappealing just from reading the descriptions. I managed to choose the two best-sounding items I could find, and honestly, they were so bland I don't even remember what they were. The setup and decor were basic. This spot could be a fun hangout, but it would take a better menu and staff who actually seem to care. It feels like just another restaurant that's lost sight of creating an actual experience for guests. The lack of vibe is obvious--if you don't want customers, just say so. I'm giving 2 stars out of respect for the fact that people have to work for a living.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.
