What delicious food!!! And the owner is a really nice guy. The spot is very clean and inviting. You can really taste how fresh the ingredients are and the care and time the chef puts into the preparation and execution. I will definitely go back next time I'm in VC.

Great food! I thought I would never find Asian food in town! I was lucked out! The Korean fried Chicken is to die for! The cook, maybe owner was real nice! I like the atmosphere and the view in the back portion of the restaurant! The food is a little pricey but what you expect in a tourist town!

Came in for my wife's birthday. Definitely not the type of restaurant I expected in VC, but was wonderfully surprised to find it. Typical interior, lots of brick, wood, and exposed metal. You order at a counter and are given a pager for when your food is ready. The chef took our order, made the food, and checked on us afterward. Was a super friendly guy. I ordered the spicy beef bowl, my wife a burger and fries, and my mother-in-law ordered the chicken and lemongrass potstickers. My wife called her burger the best one she has had in a while. My spicy beef bowl was incredible. Not too spicy, but just enough. MIL said she thought the potstickers were really good. This just became my new favorite lunch spot in VC

My first time hanging out in VC. I had wanted to try this spot for a while and it didn't disappoint. I ordered the spicy chicken bowl, and it was made exactly how i like it. The chicken is spicy without being overwhelming. The rice and veggies in the bowl added the perfect combination of flavors. There is also a nice patio out back with some impressive views of the valley. I didn't expect to find decent Korean food in VC. I am so glad i checked it out, and i can't wait to come back and try some of the other items. Thanks guys!

This is the first time in a long time that I felt I moved my food around my plate and didn't really clean it all up. Maybe it's a new type of food. But as my friend pointed out, there was "a lot of fat" around the chicken so that made it difficult to eat. I felt the menu was limited but I thought I picked something that would be tasty. We provide a tip but have to travel all the way down to the booth to pick up the food. I guess the positive is going somewhere new and giving it a try. When my friend and I first went to order we were the only ones in the establishment but by the time we left there were more groups of people that were coming in.

View from their patio. Great spot to relax and enjoy the food!

What a gem! We love both this restaurant and Hi Me right down the hall. They are owned by the same family. The space is open, clean, and inviting, with friendly owners who care about their food and business. But the best part is that the food is amazing, on par with all LA and OC joints we've frequented. The wings are huge, juicy, and the sauces are full of umami and flavor. Their Korean sauce is also spot on, all recipes perfected by their mother. Not to mention, huge servings for the price point! We initially came upon the restaurants when they first opened a little over a year ago. As out of towners who only visit nearby Tahoe once a year, we decided to make a point to come by VC just to visit the restaurants every year. We want them to flourish and stay on as long as possible!

We went to Virginia City a couple of weekends ago to take the V&T train from Carson to Virginia City, and specifically to dine at this Korean restaurant. When we entered the restaurant , they were empty (perhaps because there was a zombie crawl occurring outdoors), so we had our pick of any table in the spacious dining room. The restaurant's menu offered were chicken wing of different flavors, a selection of potstickers, rice bowls, burgers and fries. We ordered the salt and pepper chicken wings, the teriyaki chicken rice bowls and two orders of the classic burgers plus an order each of the chicken and lemongrass potstickers and the pork and vegetables potstickers. The food arrived with a very minimal amount of wait time, every food was well-prepared, had generous portions and tasted great. The two gentlemen behind the counter were super efficient and professional; the business owner checked up on all the customers to see how everyone were. Overall, it we had a really enjoyable meal and a positive dining experience.

I will absolutely be thinking about these wings anytime I eat wings now! Fairly quick service, I wouldn't say the spice was overbearing it's just the right amount of heat. This place is also right to a boba place, so it was really just a perfect spot to get a quick bite (:

We made a pit stop, and ordered their Kimchi Spam Rice Bowl, along with Pork Rib Soybean Paste Soup. The order also came with banchan, side dishes with cucumber, radish, and kimchi. The Kimchi Spam Rice Bowl had a good mix of ingredients and was delicious. The Pork Rib Soybean Paste Soup was flavorful and has a good kick to it. There are other dishes on the menu that look interesting, but perhaps next time. The Miscellaneous The Moon's Korean Kitchen is along US-50, about midway between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe. You can miss it if you zoom through the highway. The restaurant is not super big per say, but there's a decent amount of seating for its size. During the time we went, it seemed like the owner was soloing the entire place. But the food came at a reasonable time. The restaurant doesn't have an extensive menu, but it's straightforward with variety. There are appetizers with barbeque, stews, noodles, amongst others. Though it is not a place one would visit often, they do have yummy food. Would recommend making the pit stop if you are around the area.

One thing we noticed right away was that the bonchon was already set on the tables before guests arrived. It wasn't a large spread--just a small tin of cheese corn and a divided tray with kimchi, bean sprouts, and fish cake--not sure how long they were left out and did look and taste dry. The servers seemed to work well together. Different team members checked on us, cleared dishes, served food, and helped other's tables. Once it got busier, they also used robot servers to help deliver food. We started with the salad with house dressing and the popcorn chicken. Both were good, and the chicken was nice and moist. For the BBQ, we ordered the Chardol, Ju Mul Luck, Hawaiian Steak, Tri-Tip Bulgogi, and Galbi (short ribs). Having eaten at quite a few Korean BBQ restaurants in Las Vegas, we noticed the portions here were a bit smaller. They also limit each round to three appetizers and four meat selections. Overall, the service was good, and we especially appreciated Eurie for being friendly and attentive. The only thing that concerned us was when another server changed our grill. Instead of lightly drizzling oil onto the grill, she forcefully squeezed the bottle, causing the oil to shoot out onto grill. It seemed like an unnecessary safety risk for both guests and employees. Our favorites were definitely the Tri-Tip Bulgogi and the Galbi. Both were flavorful and tender. The Chardol was good, but the slices were very thin and the portion felt a little small. The restaurant filled up quickly between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., so it's clearly a popular spot. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would come back for the Tri-Tip Bulgogi, Galbi, and the teamwork displayed by the staff.

One of the biggest reasons I keep coming back is that it's one of the few Korean BBQ spots that…read morewelcomes solo diners without requiring a party of two. As someone who occasionally likes to eat alone, I really appreciate that. I've visited several times over the years, including recently under the newer ownership. Unfortunately, some of my old favorites aren't quite the same. I used to love their deep-fried oysters, which are no longer on the menu and have been replaced with deep-fried mussels. The kimchi stew recipe also seems to have changed and wasn't as memorable as before. That said, they still serve my favorite gopchang (beef small intestine). When cooked properly, it gets wonderfully crispy and reminds me of Mexican tripas tacos--definitely worth ordering. I'd personally skip the bibimbap appetizer. The rice was hard, the ground beef was cold, and it felt like it relied too heavily on the gochujang sauce for flavor. Even with those changes, I'll continue supporting this business. Service was also attentive.
