I am a regular customer because of the food and service. They do have a wide variety of selections of food to choose from different areas of Asia. I do hope they would narrow it down to just one area instead of trying to accommodate everyone in the future. We always come back for the pho and pho ap chao (crispy flat noodle). The servers are very attentive and there's one particular person who remembers exactly what we order each time. There has been occasions where they have been slammed with many customers where we don't get refills for water but we always were able to manage to flag them and get it right away. I stopped by for an early lunch recently and ordered the chicken banh mi. It was delicious! The bread was fresh, crunchy (yet soft!) and the taste was spot on. After looking at the yelps reviews, I decided to check this place out. I ended up ordering the chicken pad Thai. I'm not a very picky person but the noodles were inedible. I wouldn't even call it pad Thai. The taste of it was really sweet. I don't think pad Thai is suppose to be sweet, but that's was not the problem. Going back to the edibility of the food, I told the waiter that the noodles are not breaking apart and are not chewable (they were not cooked properly or just not cooked). It was like chewing on a very cold and sweet gummy bear. He offered me a knife, and I said that would not help out and he said I'm sorry and walked away. Who needs a knife to eat noodles? A couple of minutes later I asked if I can change out my meal, and he asked his boss if I could. He said yes and he took my plate away and I ordered a new one. He came back and said since I ate a couple pieces of chicken off the plate, I wasn't able to swap my plate out. I paid $8.59 for a meal, and he took it away without bringing it back or giving me something different. I paid $8.59 for a couple of cubes of chicken that I ate. He didn't offer me anything, no customer service. I call that greed, bad food, and bad business! read more

I went here last year on Valentine's Day and was impressed, so I decided to go back and the difference in service was like night and day. We were given our menus, then had to wait about 10 minutes just to order our drinks in an EMPTY restaurant. There was one other table and they were finished eating, we order waters which took almost ANOTHER 10 minutes to receive them, at this point we order our food (pho) which comes out super quick....WAY FASTER than our drinks did. But at this point our cups are empty and they remained that way throughout the entire meal. The server never came back to ask us how our food was or if we were satisfied (empty drinks/hot food hello?) it took me actually pulling out a water bottle from my purse and sharing it with the other guest for the server to walk up and offer to refill our drinks (seriously?) at this point he asks if we're finished eating (after giving the refill?) I tell him yes but that I would like mine Togo, it was at this point that he finally acted like he was happy to do his job. Probably because it meant he could go back to whatever he was doing that was more important than serving his guests. Considering the fact that I could see 4-5 staff members at all times and none of them were doing anything except standing around or eating while we waited for them to act like we existed I won't be going back. A tip for the restaurant would be TO INSURE PROMPT SERVICE seeing as that's what TIPS stands for and that's what you're working for. If I wouldn't have been in the service industry for 10 years I wouldn't have left a tip at all. read more

I have had a unfortunate experience at Lotus Cafe. I used to order beef brisket pho to go about once a week. I had a negative experience once and would then drive an extra 10 minutes to get pho. I was in the neighborhood and wanted to give it another shot. I ordered the usual but when I got home the order was wrong. I called Lotus Cafe and the young man who took my order was very nice and put me on the phone with ' the manager'. This lady was very rude to me from the moment she got on the phone. I tried to explain that I had always ordered beef brisket and that the order I took home was incorrect. She interrupted me MULTIPLE times and told me it wasn't her fault that she normally cooks but was 'really busy helping guests.' (Which was a stretch- she was sitting down with a group of people she clearly knew socializing; however, this is irrelevant as her cooking would not have influenced my experience) She asked me what I ordered and I repeated it. I heard her say hold on, go berate the young man who apparently put in the wrong order, instruct him to get on the phone with me and apologize. He did so, I said its not a big deal. My frustration is with the fact that she was immediately rude, interrupted me SEVERAL times, spoke down to the nice young man who worked in the front and lied to me. All I wanted was to come back up and get the correct order. After the exhausting conversation with the manager/cook, I requested my money back. I went back in the restaurant two days later to receive my refund and she came out and said hi. I asked if she was the lady I spoke with on the phone. She said yes and immediately started talking and yet again deflecting the issue onto others. She was rude yet again and was more interested in speaking than listening. I will never again subject myself to a person who treats customers (especially those willing to give their business another chance) the way I was. I've never experienced that anywhere. I typically chalk things up to a bad day or just a fluke situation and don't take time to complain. I hope this is not a common business practice but it definitely felt that way. read more

Liars! Horrible customer service and bland food! Spent $30 on food and 30 minutes on the phone being called a liar after we found meat in our vegetarian lo mein. Seriously, I've been to some of the best Vietnamese restaurants before and this place is simply mediocre. Food is simple, sort of like cafeteria food. Fried rice was basic and completely dry, but as stated, the worst part of my meal was finding pieces of meat all throughout our lo mein which I hadn't noticed until I got home in Dallas. I called the restaurant and was greeted by a disrespectful employee and a manager in the background who was "very" busy calling me a liar. The conversation went very wrong afterwards and I was called every name in book and threatened to get the cops called on. Mind you, there is still meat in my vegetarian meal. Ok? Good. After being transferred to every employee except the manager, I was told I wasn't getting a refund and was hung up on. I'm completely disgusted with my experience and would advise you to take your hard earned money to restaurants that actually appreciates their customers. Love the vegetarian option bahn mi. How hard is it to replace pork with tofu? Apparently pretty hard when your in and around Cowtown. Bread was fresh and just crisp enough. Spring rolls are rolled tight and have a surprising amount of heft to them. Both the vegetarian and shrimp spring rolls were good without too firm a rice paper. Boba teas are large sized. We highly recommend this delicious Vietnamese cafe! We used to drive further into Arlington (there's at least 6 Pho restaurants off Pioneer) but were so pleased to find this little gem only a mile from home. So much so that we visited the cafe three times in two days and still can't get enough! We've had an assortment of boba teas and smoothies and loved every single one. The pho (we've had the combination, round-eye beef and seafood) was EXCELLENT. The broth is some of the best I've had and we all thought the rice noodles were cooked to perfection. We've tried each of the appetizers listed and not a single one disappoints. My personal fav are the crab rangoons - large and perfectly balanced with crab meat and cream cheese. We've also been pleasantly surprised with the Banh Mi sandwiches! At only $4.25, they're perfect for lunch and are packed with fresh veggies and meat. The atmosphere is laid back - perfect for a casual meal or pickup to eat at home. We'll come back here again and again and are just so happy to have found another local favorite. read more

Finally got to try Lotus Cafe today and mmmmmm was it good. Everything was very fresh and tastey. I had the chicken pot stickers and the warrior pho. Chicken pot stickers were really good and weren't over powered by a lot of ginger. The pho was great, just as good if not better than any other pho place. The best part, the waitresses were very very nice and extremely CUTE! They also have some cajun food. I love po boys so I will have to go back and try that and some bobo tea.
