I just moved to the Burbank area and have been looking for a good salon to go to. I read all the reviews here on Yelp for Lotus and I'm happy to say it's as good as everyone says! The salon is very clean, and there is a big selection of polish colors. I came in on a Sunday afternoon and there was no wait at all. I wanted a custom nail design I found on Pinterest, and Lisa was amazing at replicating the look exactly how I wanted it! And the prices are VERY good! I absolutely adore this place!! Everyone is so nice and they do an excellent Job. I tell all my friends about this place. My friends who live in the valley have become regulars we come as a group every two weeks. The prices are great and the service is excellent! Lisa really cares about her customers and it shows. I have never had a problem with my Gel polish never chips and it last longer than two weeks most of the time. I also love the deluxe pedicure that is offered so relaxing and soothing. When I do have an issue with my nails (which is rare) they are very apologetic and more than happy to fix it. I intend on continuing to come here for all of my nail and toe needs!! It saddens me to leave a negative review for this nail salon as I have thoroughly enjoyed coming here for mani's and pedi's the last few months... I am so upset by the way I was treated and here is why. I got a gel mani Sunday at 1pm and I got ombré -pink base with white tips. The man who did my nails took his time and I left feeling happy with the outcome of my nails.. It was only a few hours later that I noticed the tips of my fingernails were turning black and it was beginning to run down the extent of my nail, I've posted a photo for reference. I went back to the salon the following morning to show them and was immediately sat down by the same man who did my nails and he began buffing my nails and the black was coming off, but not easily. He offered to re-do my nails for me but I said that what I would prefer is for him to take the gel off and to refund my money as this is now the second time I've noticed this has happened to my nails since coming here. His immediate response was to raise his voice and become defensive and reject my request- quite aggressively to be perfectly honest. He said the lighter colors and in particular the white ones are tricky (whatever that means?) and that I must have put my hands in chemicals... I asked what he meant by that he said it must be my makeup... Then another woman came to look at my nails and supported the mans comment about me putting my hands in chemicals and suggested that I work in a hair salon... Which for the record I do not. So now I, the paying customer, and repeat customer at that who came back less than 24 hours of getting my nails done am to blame for their bad product. I'm absolutely appalled at the terrible customer service I received and really cannot believe the blame is being put on me. There isn't a chance in hell I will be coming back here after being treated this way. I am thoroughly disappointed and offended by the employees at this salon as they blamed me for their own bad product... I am upset that after being a repeat customer for the last few months that they reacted in such a negative manner. I am sad to have had this experience and I hope you improve your customer service and also the product you use. I paid $36.00 just to have my nails turn black in less than 24 hours and to be treated like crap. I will absolutely not be back. read more

I went 4 days ago for a gel mani and regular pedicure. It was my first time here, trying some place new and looking for a reasonably priced basic gel manicure & regular pedicure. First, let me say, it's not reasonably priced. I spent $58 plus tip on a very basic mani pedi which wasn't even well done. In all fairness, she did a good job on my pedicure and I did say yes to pay $7 extra for the callous remover, but still very basic and not worth the price. I pay the same price for a deluxe mani pedi at my normal place where they are so meticulous and careful about the job they do and it's a lovely, relaxing experience. But here's the real issue--the guy who did my nails cut me. And not just a nick, but a deep cut to my cuticle area. When it happened I thought it was just a small nick that would heal right up within a minute. I've had those before. But nope. It bleed A LOT. He immediately put his ungloved finger on it, not so much to apply pressure but to hide what had happened. I was very nice about it and said don't worry, but it just kept bleeding and he hard time getting it to stop. He put something on it, I don't even know what. I should have had him not continue at that point but I didn't realize how bad it really was. By the time it got to painting part he removed the tissue and there was a lot of dried blood (not to be gross but a clump that cover over half my finger nail). He attempted to remove it but 4 days, several showers, and countless hand washings later, I still have dried blood stuck to the edge of the gel manicure. It was also just a really bad manicure. There's nail polish going over my cuticles on several nails and it's already starting to lift. The filing is uneven. The finger that was cut still hurts and is red and is probably infected a little. To make matters worse, I watched him put the gel nail polish bottles back on the shelf. Call me crazy but that's got to be a health code violation. It definitely touched my open wound. Every time I look at my nails I just feel disappointed and annoyed that I spend almost $70 on something that looks horrible, isn't going to last long (it's already coming up, normally gels last min 3 weeks on me), and that physically hurt me. I'm not one to give negative reviews, everyone can have an off day once in a while, but I truly don't feel good about this place and after what happened to me, i don't think it's clean or safe. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Ridiculously slow service. I made an appointment and was the only one there when I arrived but had to wait because the nail tech was getting her own nails done. Got acrylics done, asked her to soften the tip a little -- she repeated what I asked but then never did it. A ton of acrylic buildup left under the nail and the acrylic was SO thick on one hand. She left me to work on another client who's appointment was an hour after mine for awhile.. I asked how much longer and she said I could go but be careful lol I had to remind her that she didn't apply top coat. Had to also ask to clean up polish on my cuticles which she did.. but not well. The staff here is incredibly friendly, the pricing is super reasonable, and my gels always last perfectly until I feel like touching them up. They're also great at communicating during the process to make sure you get exactly what you came in for, and are good at working and some painful eczema I have on my hands. I was a loyal customer of many years at another Burbank salon until it started going downhill. I'm glad to say that Tan and Lisa (owners of Lotus) helped me know their salon was the perfect one for me. They and their staff are genuinely friendly. The pedis are great and really last. My mani is a pink and white - not easy to do well unless the technician has patience and really knows what their doing. Add to all this that the shop is pristinely clean (my #1 requirement) and offers a good value and there you have it...5 stars! read more

Awful back to LaFlora nails in Studio City for me. Thought I'd try a new place closer to home and boy was that a mistake. They are so busy talking to each other she cut my finger so bad. Pros: Clean, parking, Cons: Very small, sloppy,Pedicure and Mani they use just hot water no kind of soap. They are differently not spa like. With all the choices in the area pick someplace else. Such a great experience here! My friend recommended that I try this place out because it's her usual and I was immediately impressed with the friendly service by the owner Lisa who is such a sweetheart! Granted it took about an hour to do my acrylic set and color, Lisa took her time and made sure to do a thorough, clean, perfect job with my nails. Not to mention, it's extremely affordable! My FAVORITE place to get a pedicure. I've gotten one form almost everyone who works here and always leave extremely satisfied! They do a careful and though job and the massage isn't just a minute or so, they really take there time for massage, for the whole pedicure really, they don't cut corners! My pedicure I got was awesome and the girl who did them was very sweet and professional. I got my sea shell acrylic tips done by a man and that is why I did not rate this place 5 stars. I have major bubbles on every single nail and a couple of my fingers are sore from his rough handling. The bubbles could've been avoided by adding a thin coat of polish and not a thick one. I find the gel polishes to be harder to work with so I can't blame this entirely on him either. While I was in the salon I did not even notice the bubbles till I got in my car; I was too lazy to go back to get all of it fixed so home I went. I'm going to give this place another shot but ask for a woman manicurist instead. Hopefully my rating will change because I do see potential here. read more

I absolutely love this place! If you're looking for stiletto nails (pointy) this is where it's at. This is the only place I go to for acrylics because they make sure they get every detail and they're never thick. Prices are good for the quality of the nails. $25 for short acrylics and $27 for medium. I'm not sure how much long would be, I'd guess maybe just a couple of dollars more. Last time I got short and I was confused because they seemed medium length. I didn't mind because I love longer nails but today I got medium and they're perfect. All of the nail techs in Lotus are talented. Never going anywhere else. read more

I just want to update on my third visit here. I thought I found my go-to nail salon. Unfortunately my search goes on... Apologies, I didn't want to make this review long but it's long. I called them for an appointment and gave all the details. I was on time. On walking in, a lady asked, "Hi, what do you want?" She was busy, it wasn't the friendliest greeting and that's okay. I sat down and waited for 20 minutes. Same lady told me to take a seat in one of the massage chairs and she filled the water and went back to working on her client (who came after me and had started already but maybe she had an appointment). I waited 10 mins before I finally tell her that my appointment was around 30 mins ago and I'm on my lunch break. She replied, "The next time you, can you please tell us you are on a lunch break?" I told her sure, but you made me wait almost 35 mins now and we haven't even started. She reacted by turning to the girl she was working on and smiled at her (very mature, yep). I kept waiting for another 15 mins till an older lady who was working on another client got done. She didn't know what I wanted which was a deluxe mani-pedi. Zero communication. I told her, "You know what, just a pedicure, it's okay." I had already given the details on the phone earlier. She did an okay job, but she rushed cause she now knows that I'm in a hurry. I wouldn't have been if they had started on time. I understand if there's a need to wait 5-10 mins but 45 mins and add to that your attitude? Come on! I was upset, I didn't want to be but I was. So I'm going to find another nail salon. And the next time I won't review a nail salon till I'm sure that they're good and solid. Guys, I'm just relaying my experience, if you call for an appointment here, make sure you give them loud and clear instructions like if you are on a lunch break or you need to get done at a specific time, cause you might catch them in a busy day and you might be kept waiting here. read more

Me and my entire family have been coming here for 10 years and have loved coming here.... up until now. Lotus recently has changed to new management and their service now is HORRIBLE. My mom had an apt for 6pm and they decided to serve walk ins before her... My mom is loyal customer and has brought so much of our family into their business. When she FINALLY was seated they were extremely rude to her, weren't going to use clean utensils on her until she DEMANDED IT, and said they were "too busy" to do a callous removal, basically kicking her to the curb for newer, less loyal customers. This is absolutely absurd and i will NEVER return to Lotus given this new management and how poor their service is now. Take it from us, if they know you'll come back, they'll treat you like trash. Not to mention how dirty everything is now. I'm disgusted and have no words. We want our old Lotus back :( read more

I decided to give them a second chance! I went in to remove my acrylic and get a quick French manicure! I love that they didn't try to talk me in to getting gel or spending more money. The workstations---still disgusting.(reason for 3 stars) The place is in worse conditions than it was 9 months ago. It isn't somewhere I would take a girlfriend to "get pampered" but it does the job if I need to get in and out. The owner (male) DEFF needs an attitude adjustment and learn how to "please the customer". Getting outwardly frustrated at them and arguing with them isn't gonna get you return business!
