Dining on the waterfront is the selling point and reason to go here. The menu, while solid is not spectacular but a good cocktail and sunset views make up for it.

First timer here at Louie's and my goodness the view was perfect. Definitely need to make reservations for dinner here, open table App. worked well. We started at Louie's patio bar along the waterfront and the old fashion was great and my wife said espresso martini was OK.

We were excited to get reservations here for my birthday dinner earlier this week. Overall the atmosphere and service was great. We started with the bacon wrapped scallops - they were the best I had ever had. Melt in your mouth delicious! My bf isn't big into seafood but tried it and also really loved it! I had the Beef Filet, while I found the amount of sauce on the plate unnecessary - I really enjoyed this dish. The filet was cooked perfectly. My bf had the pork chop and was disappointed. It was so fatty that it just ruined the meal for him. (This is why I deducted a point). We ended with the Creme brûlée - it was good. Not the best I've had but still good. We didn't tell them it was my birthday, so no candles but they do offer that. The drinks were good- again not the best but good enough. I'd go back for lunch and enjoy the views!

This was the best food we had on island all week hands down, also the most expensive (but worth it). Service was wonderful. We did show up for dinner (and I didn't look up to see if there was a dress code but we were by far the most under dressed compared to other guests but no one said anything). My friend and I shared the mahi special and shrimp/grits/green beans/mushrooms. It was so delicious, a little rich I couldn't finish it but would highly recommend, 10/10!

Loved visiting this quintessential location. Visited for lunch with dear friends and thoroughly enjoyed our time and our food. The staff is super friendly and attentive from the host to our server. The dining room is beautifully laid out with views to the waterfront throughout. This spit must be on everyone's list and with the

Great place for a little more upscale meal in Key West. Reservations book up quick so call a day or two in advance if possible. Career chefs and wait staff, so all pro experience. Pro Tip: get the Snapper entree and chocolate brownie brûlée. When in Rome, eat pizza. When in Key West, eat the freshest seafood anywhere.

Didn't eat here; only took in the view and vibes on the afterdeck bar late afternoon. Terry is an asset. While busy, he always acknowledges people waiting. I have seen bartenders put their heads down and ignore. Not Terry. He has certainly built up a following with locals and returning guests. Restaurant nicely decorated inside

AMAZING food and views!!! Ok so we came here for a nice dinner and unfortunately needed to make reservation and the place was booked. Wish we had called before as we walked to the restaurant. Host let us know that there was no space. Wish the host was a bit more professional and also a bit more positive. We asked if we could sit at the bar and in his words "I doubt it but you can check" Glad we did "check" we had an amazing time at the bar bartender was awesome very knowledgeable and service was great! We were able to enjoy full menu right from the deck. Appears alot of tourist come back to this place a see why. The food AMAZING! Great atmosphere! Next time I come will get a reservation for sure. But if you want to just walk back out and see there is a spot for you. Thank you!

I have been coming here for 30 years and have never been disappointed. The food, service, and Ambiance has always been fantastic. We have dined in the main dining area, The Cafe and at the afterdeck bar. It's has always been fantastic. I would also like to thank Blonde who is just awesome. This is a fantastic place.

Great food. It is located right on the Ocean. It is a little more expensive but I enjoyed it.

Great location and ambience, Servicenthat was precise as it was perfunctory, and mediocre food that was overpriced. Not likely to come back.

We had a great lunch here. Despite the elegant interior, they are very accepting of people in touristy beach clothes and such for lunch.

Ask the Community - Louie's Backyard

Can they accommodate large parties? We would be approximately 40 people, a mix of adults and children

It is a pretty spread out place, three levels. I would call and ask. They are very accommodating.

Can you see the sunset?

At a certain times of the year you can see the actual sun dipping into the water. Most of the year, however, you see all the colors of sunset on the water.

Is it Pet Friendly?

We allow pets on the bar level only and only during daylight hours. We do not allow pets inside or at the outside main dining sections.

Happy hour menu?

We do not have happy hour.

Are there gluten free options?

Yes

The upstairs Cafe - does it have the sunset views? Can you make dinner reservations for that area?

The upstairs cafe opens at 5, and as of November, was not accepting reservations. We got there right at 5 and there were a couple of tables taken, but there were still 4-5 2 party tables on the deck to choose from where you could see the sunset.… Read more

We are going to be in the Keys (first time),in mid March. Are reservations suggested ? I am the adventurous water, man as wife leas so, will they make a simply prepared seafood meal?.

Too late for this response, but reservations are definitely needed.

Are there vegetarian options?

Yes

Can you watch the sunset here?

You can see all the colors of sunset. It's stunning.

Just wondering if this place is currently open? I've been calling all day because the Internet says that it is, and I would love to come have dinner, but no one is answering…

Their Facebook site says that their office staffing is limited. I would give them a call between 10-4. But they are opening for lunch this Wednesday, June 17 and opening for dinner on Friday, June 19.

Would this be a good date spot?

Yes

Reservations required and how far in advance?

Yes, this is a popular restaurant to so make them as far in advance as possible.

And it's not only the drink menu with its custom crafted cocktails, wines, beers & ciders that will wow you but the accompanying snacks and bites are just as divine. And bonus, it's not only a bar, but also a liquor store with an awesome selection of wines and spirits. This bar definitely has a locals vibe. It's small , dark and cozy and the small tables with velvet chairs are very welcoming. We loved it so much. We came back for a second night. We tried the Maria Rita, which was a reposado tequila with fresh lemon, lime, hibiscus, and habanero, perfect version of a margarita. We also tried blowing smoke up your glass, this was made with Papa Pilar, dark rum, pineapple, fresh lime, house made basil syrup & tiki bitters. Absolutely fabulous. We also tried their deviled eggs each topped with unique toppings like trout row, bacon, and scallions. They were absolutely fabulous. They also have a great selection of charcuterie, Key nuts which you can order with different flavor, profiles, caviar, olives & peppers. Also, the most generous happy hour I've ever heard of from 12 to 6 PM every day. Don't miss out on this little jewel when in Key West.

There is a small bar with about 12 stools, a small lounge area with about 4 small seating nooks, and then a high top bench area that is along the wall. Service and set up of this place is not conducive to being able to attend to patrons. Could only order food if you were seated at the bar. We sat at the high tops and you had to go to the bar to get your drinks. Problem is that the bar has patrons sitting as well so you are hovering over them waiting for a drink. It was very uncomfortable to impose upon others to try to get a drink. I am sure they didn't appreciate the audience as they were eating as well. The bartenders were way too busy and overwhelmed. Not only are they serving the seated patrons and the 4 small nooks, they are also making drinks for the attached restaurant. There were a gazillion tickets coming out of the printer and servers standing on the other side of the window waiting. It's just not possible to serve everyone with just two bartenders. We waited about 10 minutes for service. The drinks were underwhelming for a speakeasy. Just your typical menu. What we ordered was okay. They just missed a great opportunity to create unique twists on classics or to have craft cocktails. Even the classics (which are perfect for a speakeasy) weren't that great. For a speakeasy, the drinks are the main event. Glad we tried it as we always seek out speakeasies. Wouldn't go again.
