Lovebirds has managed to evade me for a long time due to our incompatible schedules, but I finally got to try it. We got the Classic Reuben on Dr. Snyder bread and a tuna melt on sourdough. We also used the Yelp check in for a free coffee. Maybe I've been wanting to try it too long, but I was not impressed. There are definitely better and worse sandwich shops. This one is probably slightly above middling. The Dr. Syder bread was pretty good, especially if you like raisin in your bread. The Reuben and Tuna Melt were good, but I've had better for that price. Coffee was mediocre. They said it would be 16 ozes but it looked like a 12 oz cup with a fill it yourself station. Overall, I don't know that I would choose to eat here over Denny's. read more

The chocolate croissant was flaky and filled with chocolate, it was delicious. The hazelnut soy latté was really good, it wasn't overly sweet, it had a great coffee taste with a hint of hazelnut. The cafe is spacious and it has an upstairs area as well. The service was good overall. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch after reading so many positive reviews, and was not disappointed. It's easy to overcharge for a mediocre sandwich, but I feel like this place was fairly priced for what the offered. I got the chicken basil, toasted on 7 grain bread. We were the only ones in the store, and barely had to wait to place our order. The food was ready quite quickly as well. From what I could tell, there's ample upstairs and downstairs seating. I was pleasantly surprised by how generous the chicken was inside my sandwich, and the pesto certainly added a nice kick. I left feeling pretty satisfied. I also wanted to get fries, but unfortunately their fry machine was broken that day. Guess I will have to come back again to try another sandwich! It has been 6 years since my last visit and having a friend who had never been here I decided I should take her for the welcoming atmosphere, pastry selection and air fries. Well upon arrive I noticed the air fries were not in the menu anymore and the young male stated it this selection had been removed 10 years ago....which I recall going with my son 6.5 yrs ago and they were still offering this. But couldn't argue bc the worker was adamant with some attitude on it being that long. My friend and I ordered our breakfast and drinks. When I received my order the egg was not how I asked; my friend's ham and cheese croissant looked like if there should be more to it. As we sat to eat, the workers began a disagreement; one of which escalated to name calling using "snake" and "bitches," among other unpleasant choice of words and this lead to such a horrible & uncomfortable environment. The tuna sandwich my favorite when coming here until I tried again. Was disappointed in the flavor and that it's more mayo more than tuna. I love the BLT and most of their sandwiches but after the seeing shock of prices was kicker. I'm on the go and rarely check prices before going to a restaurant. I would have loved to get a drink and maybe a treat, but it would have like been close to $30 out the door where most places would have $20. Upon arriving the service was great and the cashier was super nice. It was not super busy and we got our food pretty quickly. We were happy to sit on the second floor which was warm and comfortable. We are so gonna be regulars here. The Turkey sandwich slapped; I ate that sh*t up so fast I forgot to take a picture, so all I could photograph was the wrapper; it has a bite taken out of it. I'm super picky about sandwiches but this one made me happy. The power up smoothie had super refreshing lemongrass and ginger notes and the blended mocha was the perfect amount of sweet. My gf ordered a Cesar salad and she was devouring it so yummy she accidentally bit off part of the fork. I personally believe both of us eating part of the cutlery/packaging says a lot about our eagerness to get to the tasty food but I understand if you judge us a little bit. So glad this location is open again. The restaurant is clean as always and the staff are very friendly. The menu appears to be more or less the same from what I remember. The wild alaskan sandwich on egg bread is my favorite here. The sandwich has lox in it, cream cheese, capers, onion, and tomato. The portions aren't quite as big as they used to be but still great. I work down the street from Lovebirds and I've been coming here for 3 years now at least twice once a month, if that sometimes more. This is how much I love this place! My manager gets myself and my coworkers this once a month for lunch. And I typically stay with my usual Chicken Bacon and avocado sandwich (more on the neutral side) on sour dough bread with a vanilla iced latte. Try these you won't regret it! I've switched around with other sandwiches and salads (usually a chicken Caesar/Cobb Salad) which are also very refreshing and healthy! Oh my and their desserts like the chocolate chip walnut cookie, lemon bar, chocolate brownie, cheesecake and so on. My mouth gets watery just thinking of the desserts so yummy and homemade taste. You can't go wrong with ordering ANYTHING from the menu here. It's all fresh and organic which I absolutely love! The workers here are also very friendly and helpful! I really love Lovebirds! This is such a great quality sandwich shop in Alhambra! Every time I order a sandwich the ingredients are always fresh. You can really taste the quality! Their Wild Alaskan Salmon and their Roast Beef are extremely delicious! The smoked turkey was good as well! The bread for each sandwich is always soft, and fresh! It feels like they just bake the bread at the restaurant that morning. Each ingredient in the sandwich (lettuce, tomato, cheese, meat) is also just as fresh! You can literally taste each item in every bite! They have a bunch of breads to choose from and I can never decide which bread I want, so they always give suggestions about what goes best with what sandwich. Also, I've heard much about their strawberry lemonade, but I never seem to get it. It'll be a must order next time! The prices may be a little steep for a sandwich, but I guarantee you get what you're paying for! It comes out quick, and the service is great as well. The reasons I gave this place 4 stars only is that the prices are a little expensive, and that they close at 5pm. It was about the only option in the area for breakfast at 8 a.m. Most of the items served here are sandwiches, and breakfast items were limited to just croissant sandwiches at the time of our visit. We ordered the Scrambled Egg & Cheese and Feta Cheese & Spinach croissants. The croissants were warm and fluffy with decent ingredients but just weren't all that interesting. I mean it's typical breakfast ingredients, nothing unusual. I think that's the whole problem, nothing on the menu sounded exceptional or different. Everything looked very standard.
