I tried this place for lunch the other day after reading reviews. It's always fun to find lunch spots with healthier options on the menu. I decided to try the Mac n cheese, which was nice and creamy. My salad was fairly standard, and the egg rolls were good. I think the draw of this place is the fact that it is vegetarian, and if you are looking for that specifically in a restaurant then this would be a good option. Wow! I'm usually scrambling to find a vegan option at restaurants when I dine with my cousin. This place was perfect. The staff was super friendly and engaging. You enter restaurant and order your food at the counter. They give you a number and you have a seat at a table. Your food may come out staggered if you have a larger group. There is a choice of juices and natural sodas to purchase or there is complimentary water and tea available. It's self serve. Some may take issue but their isn't a real problem with a few extra steps! I had the spring roll meal which came with rice and side salad. I chose the ginger almond dressing. It's super creamy and very tasty! My oldest got the summer wrap and the youngest went with the classic grilled cheese. My cousin had the buffalo wrap. The wraps are huge and very filling. After a lovely meal and chats we finished up with an organic gluten free chocolate chip cookie that was loved by our youngest. Whole Foods are great to eat and the fact that it's vegan/vegetarian shouldn't discourage many from trying. Super healthy and yummy food. Can't wait to go back and try new foods. This place is definitely a hidden gem in Cincinnati. Don't let the very casual appearance fool you. The food is gourmet, original and delicious. The raw food (particularly the raw pasta) is incredible. I thought it might just be zucchini noodles with tomato sauce but the spices, "Parmesan" and pine nuts gave this dish a great texture and flavor. The warm food that I have had was also delicious. All of the veggie burgers are great. The "sunny sauce" that they add is unique and tasty. The pumpkin chili is also great. I love that many of their sandwiches and burgers have a gluten free options. The desserts also are decadent, delicious, vegan and many of them are gluten free. I must say I also really enjoy many of the people that work here. Best gluten free cookies and cakes in Cincinnati!! They're vegan to boot but you'd never know it. This place is a hidden gem. Their food is tasty, not more expensive than non-vegan food, and they have a fair amount of variety. They're one of the only places that serves plenty of gluten free food also without eggs in them. The portion was very large and the taste was good, but she said it was not Pho. As she described it, Cinnamon Chicken Noodle Soup. The Sloppy Joe, served with Cole Slaw and corn chips was filling and had good smoky flavor. Because it's a pretty long ride home from Cincinnati we got a couple sammiches that I thought would travel well so we'd have something to eat when we arrived. The American Panini and Mexican Wrap both withstood the ride home and did not disappoint. The extra time wrapped up in the bag made them less crispy then they would have been had we eaten them fresh, but the varied ingredients in both meals had ample time to meld more than they would have otherwise. The shop is clean, clear and bright and has off-street parking. It was my first time to Cincinnati and I'm not sure when I'll be back, but when that days arrives, I'll be back. All in, this cost me about $50...four meals and three appetizers; not a bad value. I don't know what food costs in Cincinnati, but the prices certainly seem fair enough. Went to Ohio last week to visit family and we were on the hunt for a good Vegan eatery. Luckily we found the Loving Hut. This was the first time my mother and brother ate vegan food and needless to say they loved it. My brother ordered the vegan chicken with veggies & rice and he literally licked the plate clean. He was amazed that it wasn't "real chicken" but came really close to it. We loved the spring rolls, and the blueberry pie was to die for. My favorite dish was the Vegan Quarter Pounder; Smothered in vegan mayo, tomato, pickle, lettuce and Daiya "yellow cheese". The burger was made from the brand Beyond Meat which I've had before, and it was delicious! Served with nacho chips, this sucker was definitely enough to feed two! We were all really impressed with the service, quality of food, and the prices. The sign on the door and their Facebook page said they closed at 7pm but the place was packed on a Saturday night and they kept their doors open until everyone ordered, ate, and left. We left around 9:30pm so we greatly appreciated them staying open so we could enjoy a good vegan meal together as a family. Absolutely adore them! I've probably poured a good couple hundred dollars on their food and I'm not even vegan! I've been coming here with my best friend since high school, it's our tradition. The owner always remembers us, she's so sweet and caring. I love catching up with my best friend here with as much vegan food as we can stuff ourselves with. I have visited this place a few times, most recently yesterday for lunch! I ordered the half grilled veggie panini with a cup of pumpkin chili - BEST PUMPKIN CHILI I HAVE EVER HAD! I was REALLY pumped to try Loving Hut since it is a Vegan restaurant. When I walked in it reminded me of a Chinese/Asian restaurant that had been flipped. It doesn't have indoor seating, but the last couple times I've tried it I see most people carrying out. There are lots of things to chose from, but in all honestly the food wasn't that great for the $$$. The salads are pretty basic (ice berg lettuce, tomato, carrots). I am in love with Loving Hut! My daughters and I were recently traveling through Cincinnati and so hungry! Being vegan, my girls searched and found this gem. I knew we were ok when we walked into this small, local, feel good spot. The menu looked amazing and as we waited to order our take out, a gentleman that had called his order ahead came in beside us. I asked him what he recommended and he could not talk the place up enough. He raved about the vegan cherry cheesecake (I did not need convinced!)..and just about everything they served..as he had tried it ALL!. Before I knew it, he was handing over money and had placed 3 orders of their Cincinnati chilis for us and insisted on buying us 3 of the cheesecakes as well. I was so touched and grateful! This sweet, muscular vegan soul was so, so kind!! (Thank you!) The food was DELICIOUS! Like I said, I am the vegan of the family, but my girls thoroughly enjoyed the chili (which could nearly feed 2), and they loved the cheesecake. I was sad that Loving Hut was closed on the Monday we were passing back through Cinci. But you can be sure I will be there again. THE BEST vegan food I have had. I was turned on to this place by a friend who knows I am a huckleberry for a great spring roll. She is a vegan and has always raved about loving hut and she told me I should they try their amazing spring rolls. She said she always keeps their frozen spring rolls in her fridge but insists they taste even better fresh. Well I must say this was one of the best spring rolls I have ever eaten. The roll was so light and crispy on the outside and the filling was delicious. I could hear a big crunch when biting into them but the wrap was so delicate. It was really a great texture. The spring rolls also come with a dipping sauce that perfectly compliments the flavor of the rolls. I must confess that I am not a big fan of buying frozen food but I did end up buying some spring rolls for late night snacks because they are so good. You gotta give these a try but be cautious they are surely addicting! read more

I've also tried the impossible burger which was very okay but the beyond burger packaging was in the trash at the restaurant which made me rethink my purchase. The Loving Hut is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Cincinnati. Healthy, organic, sustainable, what's not to love about this place. Back when I was eating a mainly Vegan diet, the Loving Hut was my savior. Anything I enjoyed with meat and cheese could easily be replicated vegan and in the most delicious way possible. The staff that works there are extremely dedicated and passionate about what they produce. Talk about a friendly bunch. I've tried a good portion of the menu and the one item I can't help but repeat is the Spring Roll meal. It's very healthy and very addicting, I didn't know that was even possible! The Spring Rolls are cooked to perfection, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside stuffed with perfect ratio of veggies. The jasmine rice that comes with the meal borderlines the best rice concoction I've ever consumed. Sweet and nutty with peas and carrots, it's heaven. The garden salad served on the side is fresh and crisp. You must get the ginger almond dressing to put on top, I'm not sure what's all in but it's my favorite dressing I've had. I wish it was bottled and sold, I think the world would consume more veggies because of it. Even if you describe yourself as a meat and potato kind of person, the Loving Hut has something to offer everyone. Plus their desserts are the bomb, check out the marble "cheese" cake. I have to admit that when I first heard of Loving Hut I immediately thought it was part of the Pizza Hut chain. So imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting to get a Meat Lover's Pizza only to find a completely meat-free restaurant. I am, of course, kidding. I have known what Loving Hut is for quite some time. In fact, if you're vegan and you live in Cincinnati, then you know what it is too! Why? Because it's the only fully operational vegan restaurant in town! What does this mean for you? It means that no matter what you order on the menu it's going to be free of any animal meats or products. Which means no cholesterol, less fat, less damage to your heart, etc. Which means you might actually live to see the year 2075 or witness the Bengals win a Super Bowl, whichever comes first. The great thing about Loving Hut is it's not all super healthy raw vegan food. That's not to say that they don't offer that type of food because they do. What I'm saying is you can come here and eat a barbeque wrap, an A-1 steak burger, chicken wings, fried rice, mac n cheese, and chocolate cake, all at once or over multiple sittings depending on your appetite. And you would think that being vegan would make the aforementioned delicacies taste bland or inedible but you would be wrong. The food here is simply money. Being vegan myself I can say without question that this will be my go to spot for eating out for quite some time! As a vegetarian I was very excited when I found out that there was an all vegan restaurant in Cincinnati. And as a person who tries to do their part to reduce, reuse and recycle, I was happy to find that the interior of the restaurant was built using a lot of reclaimed materials and that they have recycling and compost bins. While the vegan options and prices are right the actual food and atmosphere are not. The quality of the food was equivalent to that of a vegan school cafeteria (if such a thing existed). The spring rolls were greasy and the fried rice was bland and crunchy. I am interested in other cultures, belief systems and ways of life, BUT I do not like to have someones beliefs shoved down my throat....especially when I'm trying to eat! I am a firm believer that if you pass by a business that catches your eye, you should stop and at least poke your head in instead of telling yourself you'll go back. So when we were driving by the Loving Hut, a place I had heard about for a long time and never had the chance to visit, I parked the car and we went inside the Hut. Besides a slightly weird name, the interior is kind of odd, sort of part restaurant and garden. There appears to be a much larger dining area in the back but we were there for carryout and will have to explore it later. We had a Green Smoothie and a cookie. The Smoothie had a fresh taste that healthy homemade food has and the cookie was only ok. The cookie was vegan chocolate chip and really needed butter/eggs/etc. So, I know I will try to revisit and eat some of the very good smelling food and to drink some more smoothies. I'm fond of Loving Hut. To be honest, I find the food just OK and the interior a little depressing. It's kind of out of the way down Montgomery, past Kenwood Mall, past the Trader Joe's. But there are just some days when you want to enjoy a light meal in peace, and that's why this little place is special to me. If you are Vegan, a health nut, or dabbling in the art of raw food, this place won't disappoint. As I'm none of the above, I can't come here every day, but I do enjoy it once in a while when I'm feeling adventurous a la kelp noodles. The vegan mac n cheese is quite good, but not the best I've had (see vegan shells and cheez at Melt). Thanks to the wonderful people who run this place, it lives up to its name. The Loving Cafe isn't all in your face with their "Go Green. Save the Planet." style message but they are backed by the questionable motives of self-titled Supreme Master Ching Hai and several of her products and images adorn the otherwise colorful and modern cafe. But whether you believe in her Quan Yin Method of meditation or not, you'll find some wonderful food at The Loving Cafe. For curious carnivores and those of us who remember the days of meat there are plenty of replacement choices like the convincing Sloppy Joe and Sweet Orange Sour that's almost indistinguishable from a plate of sweet and sour chicken. There are also vegan versions of spring rolls (both baked and fresh), Vietnamese Pho, sushi, and more. There are also loads of original recipes that take vegan ingredients like veganaise and vegan cheese and layer on vegetables and dressings to create some incredibly tasty food! The selection of thick smoothies and vegan desserts rounds out the menu that is constantly being added to and supplemented with daily specials. The service is a little slow right now as the team gets things off the ground and the prices are a little high for the amount of food you get, but knowing that anything on the menu is vegan (and usually delicious) is a convenience that us veg-heads rarely get! Way behind on my review of this place. FULL DISCLOSURE: I am a meat eater! I LOVE Bacon! oink-oink! It is from this vantage point I will submit my review. First: I hate meat substitutes so I've never ordered any menu item with "meat" here. I always order strictly vegetarian or vegan meals and the veggies are excellently prepared. Everything is made fresh and hot. I usually order something with noodles or broth but I have had sandwiches as well. I have not ever had anything that I did not like. They specialize in creating vegan and veggie meals and they do a really good job. I've never felt like I was eating grass or leaves. This is why I keep going back. The smoothies and drinks are good as well. I don't feel like I need meat which is why I go here frequently. I always leave feeling nourished and a little healthier. I admire the fact that the use recycled plates and cutlery. The fact that this is not a chain and a unique business in the neighborhood I go out of my way to support it. My husband and I love this place! I've been a vegetarian for over 15 years and he has just recently gone vegan/raw. We need more places in the Tri-State like the Loving Cafe. As a vegetarian or vegan it is wonderful to enter a restaurant and think, "oh my, I could order ANYTHING on this menu, be able to eat it and be satisfied." Although I haven't tried everything on the menu the dishes I do enjoy (veggie sloppy joe & brown rice burger) are good enough to eat once a week (and boy do we ever!). read more

The Mac and cheese was not well seasoned and tasted really bland but the sandwiches were amazing and the dumplings were really yummy too. So, I have been meaning to review this place after stopping in a couple months ago. I was on the #4 bus, on my way to Kenwood from downtown one late afternoon, and was super, super hungry! I knew this little cafe was on Montgomery Rd. so this became a slight detour for my friend and I. When we got to the entrance, we were surprised to see they were closed in the middle of the afternoon. I wasn't aware, but they do close for a couple hours between lunch/dinner. Fortunately, as soon as the owners saw us they rushed over to the door and very graciously encouraged us to come in. We were apologetic and said it was fine if they were closed, but they insisted it was not a problem. This was incredibly sweet of them and I was very thankful, being that I was in desperate need of a lunch fix. We quickly ordered so as to not be more of an inconvenience than necessary - I got the spring roll, fried rice, and salad and found it to be very satisfying and tasty! I am unsure what my friend got, but I do remember that she also enjoyed her meal. We sat outside on a small table with our food to-go, since the restaurant was technically closed, and only moments after sitting down the owner brought out two glasses of water for us. It was difficult figuring out what to order though because their menu is so large! I asked the woman waiting on me for a suggestion. She suggested to ask the guy behind me because he comes in practically every day! I did and he said that everything was good - okay, not a lot of help. I decided on the spring roll meal for $7. Served with brown rice (or white) and a salad. The spring rolls are grilled! They really tasted as if they'd been deep-fried. Yum! I was definitely full when I left. The ambience is a bit to be desired. The room in the back where I sat lacks windows. The water is serve yourself, and the woman behind the counter was very nice. I'll be back! read more
