From the moment I stepped in here, I felt right at home. The decor is so cute and pro-vegan lmao. I got the Noble Rice and ate it up sooo quick. It's like a curry style dish with soy protein slices. The cabbage salad was mixed with shredded carrots and a light ginger soy vinaigrette. The yellow rice and lemongrass soy together were so good! The soy had hints of ginger and went very well with the lemongrass flavor. Soooo delicious! Hubby topped his meal off with an avocado smoothie which was also pretty good. Very thick and creamy, not too sweet. When we paid, the gentleman asked how our meal was and was surprised when we said it was our first time. The restaurant has such a peaceful atmosphere, but you have the option to order your food to-go. If vegan dinning is something new to you, I highly recommend starting here. The servers are helpful and willing to offer recommendations. There are tons of options and the popular items are clearly marked. I ordered Smiling Dumplings as an appetizer. The filling was flavorful and the texture/ moisture level of the dumpling wrappers were on point. The steamed vegetables that came with my Curry BBQ entrée tasted fresh and crunchy. Honestly. Why haven't I been here before? I really don't know. It was really good. The vegan shrimp... let me tell you, I am still trying to figure out "how"... it's apparently made from yams?!? I think the yams are magical. Loving Hut provides several options. Almost too many... but it makes sense. I will say if you have a soy allergy like me you have to read the menu carefully. Many of the options are soy based...Even the smoothies. The girl working in the kitchen whips smoothies up with coconut milk if you request it. I got the avocado smoothie, the shrimp, and fried rice. I've eaten at Loving Huts before and have enjoyed the food but we didn't have the greatest experience at this one. On the recommendation of our server we had the Loving Basket as a starter which consisted of various veggies and soy protein in a tempura batter. The problem was that the tempura batter wasn't the light, crispy kind that you'd expect but a very thick, heavy version. As a result we found the dish hard going and left a lot of it uneaten. For mains we had the Lemongrass Noodle, Orange Yogi Rice, Grilled Garlic Sensation and Happy Dawg. The latter was meant to be a corn dog but was actually a small hot dog in a greasy batter. My daughter hated it and left most of it uneaten. The Orange Yogi Rice included tempura soy protein which, again, was in a thick batter that made it sickly. The lemongrass noodle was ok but nothing to shout about. The only enjoyable thing we had was the Grilled Garlic Sensation which was delicious. Sadly we left Loving Hut very disappointed. Interestingly three of us also had an upset stomach the next morning which we were convinced was down to the meal from the night before. A real shame. We would try other Loving Huts again but not the one in Orlando. read more

Oh Loving hut... Why does your bizarre television channel make me like you even more? The truth is that the quirkiness is fun too and adds to the charm. I like to bring friends here for their first time to see them disarmed by the vegan, preaching TV station and then impressed by the meatless food. This place is 100% vegan, as others have mentioned, and the food is pretty good. As a non-vegan with a vegan sister, I've tried my fair share of meat substitutes and this place has somehow created faux meat that ~dare I say~ may be even better than its real-meat counterparts! I'm not a huge fan of the rice with vegetables that comes with some of the dishes though. The one time I went the veggies were cut in small squares, reminding me of frozen vegetables, and there was entirely too much rice (it took up most of the plate). Since the class I have been a fixture at Loving Hut. So revealing that every time i walk in they know exactly what I want--Fabulous Pho soup. It's like they took a meal and dumped it in brothy goodness. I must say this is like my favorite spot right now. If you ever get a chance to attend a cooking class--please do! I make a really great spinach tofu soup because of the class. Although all Loving Huts are fairly individualized in their menus, there is a sameness that seems to affect many of the locations--and that's not including the Supreme Master TV that often plays (the TV was off during our visit). They all have the same or similar bright, open look with a yellowy decor. My boyfriend and I stopped there for a quick lunch before we headed to the airport to catch our flight home. I ordered one of the combos with summer rolls and tofu while my boyfriend got the golden nuggets and a sandwich. The nuggets were hard to bite into and chew and had very little flavor. I didn't try the sandwich, but he said it had too much vegan mayo. My tofu was rather bland, and the rice had an odd flavor I just couldn't get past. The spring rolls were okay, but I've had better. My last few visits to Loving Huts have sadly been underwhelming. Another problem with this location is that parking is a nightmare. There's a narrow lane that goes back to the parking lot, and the entrance is very easy to miss as you're driving on Colonial. The lot is also rather small, but then the few times I've been here, the restaurant hasn't been very crowded. I can see why. There are better Vietnamese options on that stretch of Colonial and better vegan options less than half a mile away. read more

Writing this review a little late. Went to loving hut on Thursday with my wife. We had a chance to get away from the kids for a little while and decided to eat here. We hadn't been here in a while so I was excited. Well it turned out to be a really good experience. The menu had changed, better images and descriptions of the food. What we enjoyed the most was the service Vat (unsure about spelling). He really made our meal enjoyable and took good care of us. My wife and I had the wonton soup, she had the avocado salad and I had some dumplings and a fish sandwich. I was impressed with the taste of the sandwich. Really had good flavor. It came with sweet potato fries too...they were really good. We left there content with our meal and with the nice treatment and service. despite the constant speaking of the grand master in the background, the staff doesn't really try to proselytize to you at all and they serve pretty delicious vegan food. Two things that stood out were the bun hue (think spicy beef noodle soup w/out the beef) and the vegan tempura. The bun hue was just as flavorful as the real thing and in fact more flavorful than the numerous crappy bowls of bun bo hue i've had in life. Good food, excellent prices, combo meals are a great value. It's a small place and seating is very limited but we've always managed to find a seat. The only downside is it does take awhile to get your food. On that note, everything is made to order so everything is fresh.
