The matcha was excellent and ended up being one of my favorites from our foodie week in Charleston. It was smooth, not bitter at all, and perfectly sweetened. So many places either make matcha too grassy or overload it with sweetener, but this one was really well balanced. I'd definitely stop by again the next time we're in town.

With tall ceilings and wide windows, SC is bright and airy, and their decor is understated elegant: nice touches here and there that reinforces the care gone into creating a relaxing space.

I watched them pull espresso shots, leave them sitting, then head to the back and suddenly my drinks appeared. When I asked about it, I was told the espresso was "pre-pulled and chilled." Meanwhile, the shots I originally saw pulled sat untouched at the machine for about two minutes (100% expired at that point). It was a confusing process and honestly, pre-pulled espresso just doesn't taste fresh. As for the drinks themselves, they were overly sweet. The vanilla latte had an odd banana flavor, and the Purple Haze tasted chemical (ironically). Overall, I won't be back for drinks. I've heard great things about their beans, so it's a shame I didn't get to experience a fresh espresso shot

My next up is the iced sweet & salty - it's flavor is not quite as subtle as the cinnamon roll, so I like to switch it up sometimes. I also appreciate the size of the drinks - they are big, so I have plenty to sip on throughout my workday. The only negative I have is that sometimes, the flavor combos/ratios seem a little off, so it's not quite as expected. But my solids are always great and I am a frequent customer. Certainly my preferred coffee stop on my way to work. I need them to open one in West Ashley - please & thank you!

The bread was tasty however, just wasn't a traditional chocolate croissant. I had a free unexpected morning to myself and googled "coffee shops near me" as I didn't want to go to the normal places I frequent. This place came up and I was delighted! There's a sign outside and on the website saying that they open at 8, and pastries/breads are available at 9- and they generally sell out by 11/1130. I can understand why. The bagel was DELICIOUS! Light, fluffy, airy. I didn't even know bagels could be that phenomenal. I also opted for the chili oil cream cheese and it was such an unexpected treat. Spicy and exceptionally delicious. I also bought the ube croissant to take home to my son. He ended up licking all of the ube from the center but the bite I snuck made me wanting more. The coconut cloud drink I had was so freaking good and refreshing on a warm day. Please note that they have original drinks (we some basics) so keep an open mind. The front of the house staff were so friendly and helpful. Love that they refer to everyone as "ms and Mr). The owner was busy packaging treats for everyone and he was so kind. Really awesome to see how hard everyone was working inside. They have some seating inside and outside while you wait, or to enjoy after you receive your order. Wonderful little place. The first time we went was early afternoon on a weekday, and they were already sold out of all baked goods. Since we were looking for a snack and a place to sit and relax, we didn't stay. We also noted that the seating inside is rather limited, and it was already occupied. Hubby went there again this morning, to give it a second chance, (Saturday at 8:45) and was told they don't put the baked goods out until 9 AM. He then asked for a mocha but apparently they don't serve normal coffee drinks. Instead, they have a menu of house created specialty drinks. He left. As much as I wanted to love this place, I'm just not looking for expensive high-end coffees on the regular. And, it doesn't make sense to me that on a Saturday morning, when people want to pick up coffee and a breakfast snack on their way to run errands, it wouldn't be available. So if you're going to visit, you'll run the risk of it either being too crowded to sit inside and relax, arriving too early for breakfast, or arriving too late and having everything sold out. It's a little bit too hit and miss for me. Giving them two stars because it's a brand new space and the employees are friendly.

Located in a precarious location but in a safe but albeit lonely (at least how my mind sees it) place which can be a nightmare if you need to leave in a specific direction. Typically I stick by my diet however I decided branch out and try the bacon and gouda egg bites. Wow, these are really good and low in carbs! Be careful, I made the mistake of tearing into mine and it was HOT. After letting it cool to non-volcanic temps, I was able to enjoy a simple symphony of satisfying selections snuggly stuffed in a small snack (try to put that many "S"s into first words... not easy). The egg hit, followed by the creaminess of the cheese and while I don't care for bacon, it was well balanced. Moreover, it wasn't really "eggy" in texture which is awesome. Two thumbs up. As for the coffee. Well after having coffee at another location which wasn't good (if you hunt down my reviews, you'll see it) I was ready for something epic or at least better. So this doctor Evil got to work I decided on a Latte with two shots of salted caramel, one vanilla, one hazelnut and finally one toasted marshmallow. I hate giving away my pure genius but "if you love something set it free...." There you have it, one of the best concoctions you'll ever try. The smoothness of the latte was elevated by the saltiness and sweetness of the caramel while the vanilla and hazelnut offered just that background favor to keep the tastebuds curious and the toasted mallow gave a hit of fire roasted burnt to the equation. Yes I'm complimenting myself but they have the ingredients on hand and mixed it. Kudos to them. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised how good the coffee is here. Moreover, the people are extremely friendly and the service is fast. At the window the lady was nice saying words from an ancient dialect like "please, thank you, you're welcome" and so on. It was refreshing. I highly recommend dropping by and ask them for the "Justin special" (you'll have to tell them b/c I'm more popular in my imagination than in real life. Enjoy!
