I cannot tell you how pleasantly surprised I am. This establishment exceeded all my expectations for what a popsicle can be. My popsicle was so delicious. I got a matcha pop and took the option to have it dipped in mint dark chocolate. The resulting flavor had just a bit of bitterness to break up the smooth, sweet taste of the chocolate, and was quite satisfying. It's a pricey dessert, but I would rather pay more for quality desserts than splurge on cheap ones, if I'm going to eat dessert at all. Which, if I walk by one of these stores again, I probably will. Also delicious! The only downfall is that there isn't room to eat inside the business, and those popsicles melt FAST in the New Orleans heat. Its proximity to the water means wind, too, which melts it even faster. My friend had to lose some of hers because it was melting too fast. Tried this place through Yelp a few months back and I've been meaning to revisit it ever since and finally got around to it! I love the strawberry particularly, paired with white chocolate and graham cracker crumbs. Somehow ends up tasting exactly like strawberry cheesecake. I got 3 popsicles - toasted marshmallow, strawberry with sprinkles, and peanut butter with chocolate. Overall, the Popsicles were tasty! The toasted marshmallow tasted similar to toasted marshmallow ice cream. The peanut butter was VERY much like peanut butter and the strawberry was like throwing 10 strawberries in a blender and freezing. They were extremely delicious but before I could cross the street, the peanut butter and toasted marshmallow gelato bars were instantly melting. You have to eat fast during the summer. Having visited the NYC location years ago, I was excited to see that a location was opening so close to where I work. After three failed attempts (the business was closed for "maintenance" shortly after opening day), I finally had my chance. The array of flavors and combinations is dizzying. The gelato pop flavor was delicious. I was a little disappointed that the top of the popsicle was bent when the employee flipped it over and pushed on the "drip catcher" (which turned out to be absolutely necessary). This place is an excellent stop during a typically hot New Orleans day downtown! If you love gelato, you're in for a real treat. I received two pop-gelatos complimentary as a Yelp Elite Perk, and they were fantastic! A pop-gelato is gelato frozen into the shape of a popsicle and put on a stick for easy on-the-go eating. Then, you add the dippings and toppings to make your pop-gelato extra yummy and gorgeous (and Instagram perfect if you're into that!) They have pictures of what it might look like after the delicious decor, and rest assured, your pop-gelato will come out as beautiful as you might expect! We tried the "Green Tea Crunch" and the "Chocolate Covered Pistachio", which were both listed as popular combinations of the pop-gelato, dippings, and toppings. Both were as expected: creamy rich gelato with quality toppings and dippings (I mean generous portions of actual pistachio nuts for toppings and real chocolate dippings - no fake fudge masquerading as "chocolate"). There is something for everyone here! Sorbet pops (dairy free/vegan), gelato pops, vegan gelato pops, yogurt pops. You choose your base "pop" and then there are dips and toppings. They do one vegan gelato flavor at a time--flavors on their website. I went with the strawberry sorbet dipped in dark chocolate and hazelnuts and almonds. The sorbet was so fresh and not overly sweet. It was like eating a chocolate dipped strawberry. They do not use corn syrup. Menu is clearly marked gluten and dairy free.
