My wife and I went to Lowe's for a new fridge. After 15 plus years of service ours finally died. The salesman was not really helpful past looking up the fridge that we wanted. We asked about financing our fridge and he sent us to customer service. When we got to customer service the first associate there was equally unable to help us. So I asked for a manager. I was thinking this would progress and we would leave empty handed. I was wrong the manager was not only super knowledgeable but very efficient. He helped us very easily while still managing the store around him. We got the fridge we wanted, now we just have to wait for delivery. read more

Customer service at lowes IS A TOTAL JOKE! Not at all like it used to be! And it's probably this way at all the lowes stores! The problem? Really bad return policy! I had bought 4 pieces of crown molding over 18 months ago. Decided not to install it, so I attempted to return it. NOTHING wrong with the items, were in sellable condition, looked brand new. I'd even be willing to take store credit. I even had the sales receipt for three of the items but not the fourth. But I had the card I used to pay for the fourth one as many places will look it up by using the card you used to pay for it. Go into the store, explained that I had a return of four items I purchased over 18 months ago. The lowes rep said it might not take it back but would try anyway. NOT gonna happen, the system wouldn't take it! No returns after 90 days! (Afterwards, we called another lowes, and they said no returns after 90 days as well!) So, I told the lowes rep that in a similar situation Home Depot would take it back. Her response was, "that's what happens when you wait more than 90 days to return it!" I made it clear that lowes has lost a customer. But I doubt that lowes cares if they lose customers. lowes is going in the wrong direction, which is fine with me! SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG with LOWES‼ They are completely out of control, falling apart with the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Like insane, irrational BS. Bought a refrigerator and paid for removal of old fridge etc. They scheduled a delivery said we would get a call Sunday night to confirm time for Monday delivery. No call No delivery. If I need some supplies for the house this Lowe's is a better option, more manageable than a Home Depot in my book. It's not as huge and it's easier to find what you need inside. Parking can be a tad crazy, the lot got harder and harder to navigate. I like their nursery a lot, they have a lot of nice plants, great selection, I could spend hours in there browsing and shopping for new buys. We hired their Air Conditioning contractors. When they installed the vents, they didn't measure, so now all the vents are crooked. Imagine cutting into the painted plaster of the ceiling, but doing it at an odd angle to the wall. As they connected the wiring, they disconnected our doorbell. What's worse, they left it buzzing over the course of a three day weekend. We called repeatedly to complain and have them come back to fix it. They set a time and when we told them we wouldnt be home, they told us the time couldn't be rescheduled. Now they simply drop our calls. We still have no doorbell! Terrible service, terrible installation, terrible "guarantee" of their work. A hack job. Avoid them! Pay more for another company-- you'll be better off. read more

Really disappointed in the customer service I got there the other evening. I had pre-paid to pick up at the store a 3M premium allergen, bacteria and virus filter. When I paid there were 5 of these filters in the store. I checked the quantity left after I paid and it was now showing 4. Good. This was around noon. I got my confirmation email so I planned to go after work despite the downpour of rain outside. It was really important for me to secure this air filter given the current climate of Covid-19 and the threat of particles/droplets in the air... I checked the quantity again before I left to head to Lowe's. Still 4... Good. Maybe I can get a 2nd one. It took about 15 mins to get there in the heavy rain of that evening. I get to customer service, tell them I need to pick up an item I ordered for in-store pickup, they asked for my order # and she said she would go get the item... She was walking towards the aisles, not some hold room I figured she would go to. Not good. She comes back saying they dont have any more. I was like whattt?! I couldnt understand that. She said people are buying a lot of stuff. Air filters?? How is it, that in the 15 mins it took me to get to the store from my place after I had checked the quantity in stock (4), that some mysterious customer purchased the 4 remaining filters PLUS the 1 that i had pre-paid for ALREADY? How is that possible? She was giving me some run around non-sensical explanation that item stock is low, people are buying, blah blah... Never once an apology during this time and I'm just getting more steamed. I told her I would not have left my place when a "shelter-in-place-order" (in the pouring rain) is in effect if I hadnt ENSURED and PAID for my item to be there. Then she says well, we havent charged you... Unreal. Still no apologies... Mind you, before I was helped by her... A lady in the line next to me was trying to pick up a heater for her mother she paid for ahead of time also using the pick-up in store option, but also there was NO heater there for her when stock said there were 3 in-store. She was livid and left aggravated when she was told there was nothing they could do for her and that the Northridge store had "5"... Sure..... So before leaving the store, I went to check the aisle it's in. When you browse online, it tells you the Aisle & Bay location of each product. The box the filter I had ordered was empty with another kind placed there by mistake. I took a quick look around and I spotted the EXACT one I ordered. Unbelievable... If she just looked around a little, she would have seen it. It took me seconds to spot it.... And you know what there were plenty of other filters in various levels of flow and allergen trapping capabilities. This section was full of inventory. I might have gotten a 2nd one had I kept looking. I was so irritated and just wanted to get out of there. I brought it back to customer service and showed them that I found the product they insisted was sold out. Still no apology.... Amazing. Get it together Lowe's. Seriously. The first time I ordered from Lowe's, my wife and I picked out a beautiful rug for our new home. After purchasing it online we waited, and waited...and waited some more. After numerous attempts to call the store in search of a status update, my wife ended up driving to the store herself. After roaming endlessly for help, she finally found a young lady that was about to acknowledge her presence and assist. After a few key strokes, she states "the rug has been discontinued". No apology, no empathy. One month wasted. Eventually got a refund but we should have learned our lesson. Fast forward to present day. Ordered a day bed for the patio on April 17th. April 23rd UPS drops off a package and instead of my day bed I get a cabinet. Completely wrong order. Attempted to call the Burbank store multiple times, of course same result, no answer. Wife ended up calling corporate and finally got through to someone after 45 minutes. This time the order had been cancelled. PERFECT. Get the run around, they offer a little discount for the inconvenience . And then advise me that I will need to re-order and they will refund my original purchase. I re-order on 4-30. And finally get the correct order on 5-6. Hallelujah!! Buttttt wait, there's more !!! Today I get another package, and yup you guessed it, ANOTHER day bed. Two day beds, two charges to my bank account and two people being fooled twice. Called today, to get some answers and called the store multiple times until I finally got a young lady to answer. Provided her the order number and she states "you're gonna have to drop it off at the store" to which I politely declined, emphatically. Customer service rep hangs up, what can say I'm not surprised. At 8pm, 2 hours after my delivery window I received a call from the delivery person who was slurring his words and had trouble carrying on a conversation. He told me it would be at least another 1.5 hours before he'd arrive due to traffic. Considering they only deliver in my area once a week, the delay at that time of night didn't seem reasonable. He offered to bring my appliance the next morning. The next morning I found out the refrigerator had been returned to a store 1.5 hours away from me as "undeliverable". I went into the Burbank store, the very nice sale associate called for the manager 3 times, the manager finally called and wanted to know what I wanted to discuss. He came to the counter, never made eye contact with me, never apologized for the situation. He told the sales associate to cancel my order and he walked away. Michael from customer service at the Newberry Park store called and he was very understanding, wanted to know what he could do to help. All I can say is Lowe's should better verify 3rd party contractors and store managers should be trained in customer service. I was having my kitchen painted and wanted to have a hood stove installed, I went to Lowe's had a sales associate help me with one and purchased it. Once my kitchen was painted and all my appliances were put back I decided I didn't need it so I decided to return it, was 13 days after I purchased it. I was told by Lowe's that I could not return it as all major appliances could only be returned after 48 hours. I've come here intermittently for a few years now. I have also been to other Lowes locations all over LA County. Back even just a couple of years ago I received great service. Usually an employee would approach me and offer help if I looked lost. But it seems like they've cut down on staff because I never get that treatment anymore. It's easier to look on their site to find the aisle location of an item than it is to try to find help in this store. It's also easier to call the store # from inside the store to get help, but sometimes that doesn't work. The last time I called I tried three times and kept getting kicked back to the automated answering machine. I could not get through to a live person! My boyfriend and I asked an employee in the wood aisle if they could cut down the large sheets. The employee said yes and that they would only charge for the piece I purchased, not for the whole sheet. So, after figuring out what kind of wood to get (with no help from anyone but my father who I called on the phone asking for tips), we made our selection, got it on a cart and pushed it back to the back corner of the store so the employee could cut it. After waiting over 20 minutes another employee told us they would charge us for the entire piece. We had been in the store for over an hour at that point but that employee helped us select a better piece out and then he cut it for us. He was very apologetic that we were given the wrong information and he told us the employee who gave us the wrong information was new. Why would he answer our question if he did not actually know the answer? He could've told us to ask someone else and that would've saved us about 30 minutes in there. When I got home the piece (plywood) didn't work for what I wanted it to and I should have purchased cork board instead. I just didn't know until my friend who does construction told me. So, I wasted my time and money coming here and I was really disappointed with the lack of service. While we were there we also met a guy who was waiting for a sheet of wood to be cut and he said he had to wait 2 hours once! That is way too much and not worth it. I'm hoping they can hire more staff and train their new staff a little better. In the mean time I will come back if I need anything else from them, but this time I will be 100% certain what exactly I want and I will also try to order it on their website for pick up in the store just to avoid getting lost in there, as I have many times before. read more

The one star is based on the behavior of Eddie in the paint department. I couldn't find someone to mix paint for me, not even customers around, and so I found Eddie in one of the aisles. I asked for assistance and he said he'd meet me at the front paint desk. I waited a minute, but when he came up he decided to help a young woman who had just walked up. Pretty much ignored me. He wouldn't even let me hand him my paint chip where I had written down the amount and type, so I could go shop. Was rude about it too, doing the fake over exaggerated "Yes Sir" and "Have a nice day". Guess a pretty face matters more to him. I'm sure Lowe's is desperate for workers, but if he did that to customers at my business, he'd be fired. I guess that's why he works at Lowe's, very little responsibility. ‍ read more

Ordered blinds in a rental unit I have. Installer came out, installed 4 blinds, but left one set of blinds uninstalled, no explanation, others were installed wrong. Called Lowes, manager came out, said existing installer had to come back to correct it and he would call. That was a week ago, no word. Also, paid for measure on another property, no one has called. Perhaps whomever was so important to speak with your associates for so long should edit his/her remarks for the sake of your customers. Maybe you should pay your associates some overtime and have those meetings on the clock, BEFORE you're open. You see, while your associates were rapt listening to you and cheering, so motivated, I stood waiting to buy a few locked up security cameras. Two associates assured me that 1. They called someone to unlock the case. 2. That someone was on the way to help me. 3. The meeting would be over soon. Well. This guy "eddie" helped me each time except once when I went twice and had the other guy which was a complete rush job. Eddie super nice and very knowledgeable. My requested my orders to be deivered, with specific instructions, since the delivery address is unoccupied. I reimphasized that instructions very clearly . Delivery date came, left all my items on the vacant unit, very visible from the street, waiting to be stolen, as stealing is very rampant in Los Angeles. I am at this stores mercy. I have tried calling 4 times, only to have someone pickup and then they hang up! Unacceptable customer service. But again I am at their mercy! I am working on a DIY project painting a cabinet. One quart should have been more than plenty but the associate told me to use a sponge brush. After two coats it was not doing much. I went to Valspar.com and they recommend using a brush or a foam roller. What a huge difference!! But I ran out of paint. After dealing with an update militant sales associate in paint, they won't have any more product until the end of the month! I asked him to check other stores, he said no one has any stock! WT?! If I had been given the correct information in what tool to apply it I wouldn't be in this situation. But go ahead, give them a call and tell the Interactive Voice Response you want customer service to speak to someone and see where that gets you! I used to like this stores customer service a lot but they have suffered as of late. Oh and the lowes rep also recommended using primer! They don't even know their own product! UPDATE... LOWE'S cabinets and counter top dept. THE WORST!!!! I ordered the kitchen 5 months ago and still don't have my kitchen. ALL MISTAKES WERE MADE BY LOWE'S kitchen designer and installer. Example: went in for a design meeting and the computer flagged a real problem in one corner of the kitchen--that several drawers would open only 70+- % before banging into each other. I told designer UNACCEPTABLE, that this must be corrected. She agreed. She, without telling me, went ahead and ordered the kitchen anyway on the advice of the installer who told her that this problem could be resolved with a minor adjustment. Turns out his "adjustment" was drawer stops. WHAT???!!! Another major design flaw was almost permitted before I CAUGHT IT. Had to redesign much of the kitchen and REORDER. Was told I would have new cabinets by 3-14. As of 3-13, they haven't even shipped from the factory! Seriously considering cancelling the whole order and asking for my money back. Never buy appliances at Lowe's. They might some day arrive, or maybe not. I paid them for a stove and a refrigerator, and they were eventually able to deliver the refrigerator, but a month later no stove. It is not possible to find out status on a delivery. The delivery staff, the actual drivers, are professional, able, friendly and do good work. But the organization and the store itself is set up to avoid all customer interaction. After waiting 4 hours for the delivery of a stove I tried calling the store. They have set up a system to keep you on hold for 15 minutes, then they hang up. I tried them 3 times. When I was buying the appliances the sales staff were downright angry when I declined to buy their extended warranty. All in all, never shop at Lowe's. It is a miserable experience. I might still yet one day get the stove I paid for, but I won't get back the time they've wasted. An update - they called two hours later to say they'd arrived, so I closed up shop and went to meet them. They refused to take the stove up the stairs, not up any stairs, and refused to go upstairs to get the old stove. I had to bring the stove to their truck, then they took it away. Lowe's Home Improvement Online ordering: A total fiasco on many fronts. Totally frustrating process of a 'comedy of errors' as well as dealIng with a Lowe's phone representative who was not at all sympathetic to my ordering conundrum. I ordered an electric/battery operated lawn mower from Lowe's since I did my research and found that their signature mower was made in the USA. I thought great. It would provide jobs for us Americans. Ordered it online and thought that I could pick it up at my nearest Lowe's. Wrong, the online order won't allow you to do that. So there was an initial delIvery fee of $60. Ok, fine, but when it came to check out, the delivery fee went up to $93! It was the old "bait & switch". However, I decided to order the mower since my gas powered mower conked out and the grass was getting taller by the minute due to our more than average rainy season. Just the day before the notified arrival date, I got a call from a Lowe's sales rep that the mower would be a demonstration model which probably was pawed at by a hundred customers, and that it lacked a battery pack so that even if were delivered to me, I wouldn't be able to use it. I cancelled the order, but over a week had been wasted, and of course, I still had to order another mower from another company, whose mowers are made in Minnesota, USA, which took another week. In the meantime, the grass is getting ever higher. Lost time, wasted time, not to mention loss in trust toward a company that supposedy has some managerial competency. Lowe's, never again. This is a fine Lowes, very large and has many options. The first few people that we interacted with while inquiring about shades were a little snappy and unhelpful. However, when Brian approached us asking if we needed help, this location changed from a one star to four-star. The employee, Brian, was an incredible salesman and extremely helpful and kind. Not only was he able to answer all of our questions with patience, but he was helping so many people at once. I usually don't leave reviews for these types of places, but I just wanted to shout out Brian for being such an amazing employee, possibly one of the only nice ones here. Keep it up! read more
