Very nice experience loading our car with our 16 bag bark purchase. Very nice young men, Steven from Hardware, Carlo and one other seasonal/lawn guy whom we cannot find his name now, sorry nice man! The store definitely needed more people to ring up however. My husband almost left and then I found a guy to ring us up and he was helpful. called to help us get loaders that were hard to find but when I flagged them down in the parking lot they were most courteous and helpful. read more

Bought floors from them and had Lowe's install them. Actually Lowe's hires a company called BJM to install the floors. BJM will come into your house and measure the area where you want your new floors to be installed. After the measurement, BJM will tell Lowe's how much flooring and other related merchandise you need to install the floors that you chose. Once all your floors and all other needed items, BJM will them setup an appoint with you to install your new floors. The Bad: (Lots of it). 1. My installer came late Monday morning due to car problems. 2. There were 2 workers that came on Monday. The one employed or subcontracted by BJM did not speak English at all. So luckily his helper (2nd worker) spoke English. I am an immigrant myself, but I learned to speak English cause it's hard to communicate if I don't--plain and simple. 3. The main guy tried to tell me that the equipment he needed to install my the side panels was used by another worker Nina different job site and that he has not gotten it back from him. Therefore, they could not finish the job before moving to a different part of the house. 4. The main worker said that he was going to charge me to remove my old vinyl flooring because removing the old flooring was not part of the contract. So make sure to check your contract with Lowe's. Although Lowe's flat out told me that "they" would remove my old flooring and install the new flooring that I ordered...that was all I needed to hear. Or so I thought. 5. The craftsmanship was nonexistent. My wife and I would see a lack of quality in their work and point them out. They would then tell me that it was not him that did that part of the house, it was the other guy and vice-versa. 6. Beware when they remove/reinstall items such as your toilet. 7. Called Customer service for BJM for squeaks in our staircase. On 3-occasions, BJM said they would call me back after looking into my work order. That did not happen. Finally, I said that I would not hang up and wait to talk to the person (lady) in-charge of warranty related-issues. 8. I could go on and on. Bottom line is: Beware of Lowe's and BJM. I spoke with Lowe's regarding the issues I had with BJM. Lowe's then blames BJM and says that BJM is not part of Lowe's and vice-versa. I had issues with Lowe's because they did not order enough materials, but Lowe's blame BJM because BJM tells Lowe's how much materials the customer needs for the install. Here's some photos of the installers that came to my house. Note: no pride in their work. The Good: The workers that came to redo the job were so much better. Maybe you guys/gals will get lucky and get them to install your floor instead. But don't count on it, from what I gather--they were the right hand men of the owner. All they do is do "warranty" work. I am here posting this because, as I told BJM and Lowe's, I will never recommend them to any of my family and friends and I hope that someone reads this and learn from my mistakes. My rating of 5 stars is literally based on an employee, Travares. A+ customer service. I approached various employees for assistance and without finding out what my question was sent me to others, simply passed along. Then I met Travares and he changed a negative experience into a positive. When Travares was unable to answer my question, he was willing to find an answer, then we went online to get an answer. That is truly going above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. The manager on duty I did inform of this great customer service. I appreciate this employee's assistance. Thanks Travares. Buyers beware! I have experienced the worst customer service at the Lowes in Fairfield, CA. I purchased a refrigerator at the Fairfield location in November 2019 and upon delivery, the crew was rude, unaccommodating, careless and caused serious damage to a brand new hardware floor. A call was immediately (same day) made to the delivery service (DSI ) to alert their team of the damage but I was directed (by a manager) to contact the Lowes store directly and inform them of the situation as DSI could not assist. In an attempt to not claim responsibility for the damage their crew was responsible for, the verbiage used in DSI's communication was cold, accusatory and rude. From there, I reached out to Lowes Fairfield and left numerous messages with the store manager (Anthony) who over the course of 4 months never made himself available as he claimed to be "too busy to connect at that time" as well as said on several occasion "I forgot, but will follow-up." To no avail, he never followed up. The store manager (Anthony), made it a point to provide below average customer service and disregard every attempt to remedy my issue. He refused to make himself available, return any calls over a 4 month timeframe or file the appropriate claim with the delivery company. It wasn't until I contacted one of the Associate Managers (Sabrina) and within 24 hours, she was able to get the claims process started. It seems that Anthony's team was able to find a solution simply by sending an email to DSI. The store managers lack of care is infuriating! This has by far been one of the worst customer experience I have ever had. Between Lowes corporate not being able to help with the situation or provide a clear roadmap on how to remedy the situation, the terrible delivery service and a store experience that was less than desirable...I will never shop here again and make it a point to ensure I share my experience with the masses. I can't stress how incompetent and dismissive this store manager (Anthony) is with a total lack of care for loyal customers. As a corporation, there should be some serious concern with having a manager like Anthony that refuses to do their job at the most basic level. Retail is a difficult business and with a variety of other retail options in the space, it is important to ensure you have a team of leaders/managers that go above and beyond to ensure the customer experience is a good one...otherwise customer retention suffers. The definition of Customer Service is "the assistance and advice provided by a company to those people who buy or use its products or services," beyond that, it is the role of those in a service position to ensure the experience of your customers is as seamless and pleasant as possible...and this experience has been anything but. I don't want to simply complain about my experience, I look forward to hearing from their team and closing the loop on this 4 month issue. read more

On 5/19/22 I went to Lowes in Fairfield to pick up a pallet of stepping stones. When the Lowes employee was loading the pallet of stepping into my truck he ran into the tailgate of my truck damaging the tailgate then drove off with the fork lift. I went into the store looking for him and could not find him, I then contacted the store manager on duty (Cora) and informed her what had happened and she came out and took pic of the damage. She said she would look into the matter and give me a call. She called me back and said to go get three estimates, I went and got the three estimates and took them back to her. To this day 8/29/22 nothing has been done by Lowes to repair the damage, i was forced to turn a claim into my insurance and it cost me 500.00 dollars for the Lowes employee to run into my truck and costing 2500.00 dollars of damage. read more

Lowes has a better slogan from a business perspective in comparison to Home Depot IMHO. "You can do it... we can help" vs "lets build something together." I think Lowes caters to the people who are not necessarily experts at Home improvement therefore they are standing right there next to you helping. Home Depot rather caters to people who want to do it all themselves... they may "help" but they are off in the distance. My last visit I bought a window screen and a few locks and then went to the lock guy for more copies. The store and the workers that I encountered were fine. I do enjoy OSH to either Home Depot or Lowes. Its quicker getting in and out. I've found the most knowledgeable workers at OSH too. This is true when it came to the paint department as well as the garden department. I think OSH carries better paint and plants. Hands down prefer Benjamin Moore to what Home Depot or Lowes carries. read more

This review is specifically about an employee. His name is Arturo (at curbside). As I was waiting for my order at curbside, he was helping another customer load their items to try and make it fit in their car. He helped them by taking the packaging out, used his blade to carefully trim the side packaging out. All while working in the hot sun! Take note, he was all smiles while helping the customer in the heat! While that was going on, he even signaled to me to let me know that my order is coming! They don't value your time! Purchased 3 different seeds. Checked out at terminal 16 in the garden area. The cashier's name was Kathy. She scanned one pack of seed (the more expensive one), then charged the other two the same price. She toss them somewhere in the potting tray I purchased. My husband tried searching for it before leaving the store. Kathy responded with, "I placed it in the cart." Since the seeds are in small packages, we had to dig around in the items we purchased to make sure it was it. Eventually founded it and walked out. Before we got to the car, I noticed they all the seeds were charged for the same prize. We went back in and spoke to another cashier. We were told to go to customer service counter. We express that we did not want to go wait in line for a few cent. We asked for a manager. A manager was called over the intercom. Instead of walking over, the manager called the register and asked why we needed to speak to them. Kathy interrupted when I wasn't even talking to her. She was rude. She did not apologize for her lazy mistake. She had the nerves to laugh at me and keep a smile on her face. She show no concerns. A floor supervisor finally show up and could not do anything for us. So of course we had to walk over to the customer service counter. No one apologized for wasting our time. Very disappointed that Lowes would hired managers and associates like that. Please train your associates to scan every item individually. We know how much SHRINK means to you. Maybe training your associates can reduce your shrink. read more

I went into Lowe's today to purchase a nest smoke detector, keypad, and doorbell. Found what I was looking for in aisle number seven and purchased the devices through Christian. He apparently was new. He worked hard and I was impressed. He was a nice guy. I waited about 10-15 minutes or the manager, Felicia, to come to the cage where they lock all the special equipment. She was somewhat curt with me, not at all what I would expect for somebody who is a manager and teaches her employees customer service. We both looked in the cabinet and when I touched the smoke detector she told me to get my hand out of the cage. Customers are not allowed to touch inside the cage. She said it rudely. Like I was gonna grab it and run off. I'm a 64 year old physician. Do I really need to deal with this woman. She walked the two items I purchased back to Christian and told him to ring them up. She didn't realize that we had already purchased the devices. Once again Christian is probably new and under instruction. So we waited for her to come back to the register and we found out that the Yale nest door lock was not the right one I wanted. So I had to go back to the return desk and return that. The lady at the return desk will also somewhat short with me. I imagine she works under Felicia and everybody's a little bit stressed around her. When I compared this experience to Home Depot. The guy bent over backwards to help me. Purchased three nest smoke detectors, a door bell, no problem. It was easy and enjoyable. So I've decided that I probably won't be going back to Lowe's. Customer service is everything. And under this manager, they need to go back to square one. read more

I have never asked for a manager, left a bad Yelp review, or cried in a store, but here we are. LITERALLY SHOP ANYWHERE ELSE. Firstly, know that I generally like Lowe's and their support of military/veterans and that I have had successful jobs in retail customer service and general customer service. I am new to the area and had never been to this Lowe's before. I tried to make an admittedly complicated return, and when I approached the customer service desk, the clerk immediately told me, "no, you can't return that" with such a gleeful sneer in her voice it set me on edge and made me think she wasn't being truthful. For the first time ever, I asked for a manager to which she replied, "you can talk to a manager all day long, but it won't make a difference." I again asked take to a manager, so she rolled her eyes and left to get one. Once the manager showed up, she instantly started a fight with me. Instead of deescalating the situation, hearing my story, and empathetically telling me there was nothing she could do, she laid into me, berating me for even trying to return the item, and speaking to me like I was a child that had just colored on the wall with markers. Trying to defend myself, I opened my phone to show her pictures of the disaster caused by the product I had purchased. She said something to the effect of, "it won't do you any good. I don't care." After which I was told she "doesn't have time for this" (there were four other employees just standing at the desk watching us) and that "it is not my [her] problem." At that, I left in tears. The product I was trying to return cost hundreds of dollars and burned a day's worth of valuable time. However, that was clearly of no concern to them. I was so affected by how they treated me, I have had trouble sleeping. I can't imagine being a veteran with PTSD that they supposedly support. Several other people on Yelp have mentioned employees threatening them, and this accurately describes how I feel. It will be a LOOOONG time before I feel safe entering a Lowe's again, if ever. I am not naming the employees because the internet is a nutty place, but should Lowe's decide they care about employees being explicitly hostel, they are welcome to reach out. Horrible with online orders - they shorted me 3 boxes is laminate during my first order and 9 stair nosing on my second order... that's $400 worth of material, their delivery was a day late despite confirming the delivery date, and I had to go into the store twice. I lost 3 days of work. Not to mention, their drive-up service doesn't work. You call the number and it goes to no one. Home Depot from here on out. Does Lowe's just hire ONLY miserable people, or what? My husband and I came for blinds with the correct measurements written down. We went over the measurements multiple times with the associate in the Fairfield location, who was really nice and helpful (Conner). She had the blinds cut, and we went home to find that one of the blinds which was supposed to be cut to exactly 58 inches, was cut to exactly 59 inches instead (my husband measured when it wouldn't fit in our window). My husband brought the blinds back to Fairfield Lowe's to let them know that it was 1 inch too long. The original measurement was 58.5 inches and the blinds should have been cut down to 58 inches allowing 1/4 inch on each side. They sent us home with 59 and when we came back they told us their machine was broken. At this point, my husband was dealing with a completely different person (black lady) who did not want to help him even though it was Lowe's mistake. She told him the machine wouldn't cut it to 58, it's broken, and told him to go try Vacaville. My husband asked her to please call them beforehand to make sure their machine is working since he'd already made 1 trip back. The employee did not want to make the call and was irritated that my husband even asked her to. She called the Vacaville location a couple of times, got irritated for being on hold, and tells my husband "she ain't calling back again." My husband asked her what he's supposed to do, then. The employee calls 1 more time and they find out that the Vacaville location's machine is broken too. (So, she would have had him drive to Vacaville to not even be helped, and again it is not even his fault that it was cut wrong.) So then she tells him he can try the Vallejo location. Someone else ended up stepping in to call the Vallejo location and we found out that their machine was working. Next morning we go to Vallejo location and we are helped by someone named Aliyah? (black lady) who seemed completely irritated and upset to have to help us. She was not friendly at all. She told us they should have fixed this in Fairfield or just re-done the whole thing. She was able to help us, but had an attitude the entire time. She also stopped in the middle of helping us to help someone else (which took forever) even though she was already in the middle of helping us. That guy could have waited. Someone very chipper who seemed like a manager called her on the Walkie Talkie and she was even rude to her saying "Dang! What do you need?!?" The other lady came over to talk with her and she was rude to her too! She didn't speak much and when she would speak to us it was short. She didn't even respond to all of our "thank you's", or to her manager saying "appreciate you". She was just completely stone cold. Her attitude was so bad that I feel sorry for her! She must be going through something. I will say she DID know how to use the cutting machine well. The only good experience we had at the Vallejo location was Ralph, who was at the self checkout. I'm a new contractor. Online, you see Lowes for Pros, and if you go on to ask for a Pros account, then they automatically sign you up for CREDIT CARD. Madelyn is trained to confirm that you are interested in a credit card, they just start the process. When they find out that you don't want a credit card, they can't continue getting you a normal business account because your email is already being used for the credit card. There is no going back at that point. Now they have you. Kyle tries to make you understand that you should just apply for the card. Ashley, in her most annoying voice, complains to Kyle in front of the customers about how it's a 30-minute wait to call customer service to straighten the mess out. They get hung up on and suggest you go home and call, which means you get hung up on. Or maybe they just hang up and say they are getting hung up on so they don't have to deal with it. Either way, it makes you feel like you're not worth their time. They got an answer, 90 minutes into me standing here waiting for a reply, that no one can back out my email address to open the Pro MVP account. Now, Kyle has taken over but is in the back office, so I get no further counter help in this issue until he decides to come out. The one suggestion offered is to use a different email. Setting up a new email with Godaddy is $199 / year...all so I can have a free Pro MVP account. Apparently, once a credit card allocating has been started, you can't use the same email address for anything other than that credit card application. Or, I can continue the credit card application that I never wanted and get a 24.99% credit card rather than use my 0% card that is in my wallet currently. This started at 7:55 a.m., and it's now 9:46 a.m. What a bad way to spend a Saturday instead of being at the park with my wife and kids. Lowe's is seriously a POS!! Purchased a deep freezer yesterday and waited for a call to confirm delivery, no one called. First thing this morning I call the store and of course I'm transferred to receiving, receiving can't help so I'm given the direct number to the delivery company. To my surprise, our phone number was not on file. Just a bunch of zeros was listed as the contact number! I get the delivery time frame of 530-730 which comes and goes and surprise surprise, NO DEEP FREEZER! Call the store, they don't have a clue! Call the delivery company and they claim the driver arrived at 4:42! The delivery time wasn't for 4:42!!!! The company claims the driver took pics of our house to verify the attempted delivery. I guess customers should just wait all day. Now the store won't process my refund because they don't have the freezer back in store! Now I have to wait until the delivery company brings the deep freezer back to Lowe's. Who knows how long that will take dealing with this place. The POS manager I spoke to tonight rambled on and on about how they get sooo many complaints about this delivery company, yet no one is doing anything about it. Great job Lowe's! When I called this morning to find out where the freezer was, the store claimed it wasn't there so I call the delivery company and they didn't have it. I called the store back and they couldn't find the order even though I had just called! Ugh! I was going to give the delivery another chance but said screw it! Though every now and then because the store is so massive I have to search for an associate for a bit. They have surprisingly great deals and workshops for kids too. Every month I go and I spend HUNDREDS !! And they just lost a customer! I go this morning to return something, and the lady didn't say a word to me, was going on with the return. This guy comes out of left field and says in a mean and loud tone all this stuff about why I can't return this item. Seriously embarrassed me and I really felt attacked. The line behind was watching. I had the worst delivery services. I recently order the new Range at the store. We had no problem with service at the store.[the older guy was such a great Helper. nothing to complain] BUT when it come to delivery a DISASTER. First came to the delivery day, the truck guy came to install with NO range ?!? Wtf right?... the end of the day 2 guys came with the Range take the old one out and left the new and old outside and said they'll be back because he forgot the wire to install !!! Didn't show up till tHE NEXT MORNING finally came back with the wire that wasn't need to be use at all, so he left it there and left because my husband got mad and install it himself the night before.!! read more

I was just at this store. Aftwr spending time picking out 6 bags of lawn supplies, varies vegetable seeds, I attempt to check pit in the front of the store. They were nice enough to close the gardening checkout. They had scheduled ONE cashier and had two self checkouts open. I was going to use the self checkout because the actual cashier line was so long. After having to get the cashier to override the scale, because they refuse to set the scale to recognize all their products, I gave up and left. I called the store to let the manager know he just lost at least a $50 sale. This was just the first trip to redoing my garden. After the first call, waiting on hold for five minutes, the line disconnected. I call back and explain the hold time and I was disconnected, and the girl on the other end said, "oh". Someone should train her to apologize for the inconvenience. Finally get to a manager. I had to ask if even was one. Then I had to ask his name. Charles didn't answer the phone properly, so I had no idea who I was speaking to. I recounted what happened and then stopped talking. He then said, "so?" I repeated that back to him and he said that wasn't his answer. He gave a bored response after about taking into account what I said. Apparently, anyone can be a manager at Lowe's because problem solving, accountability and empathy aren't needed when dealing with the public. Lowe's is convenient for me to get to and I will go out of my way and shop elsewhere and, if necessary, pay more for the same products. Obviously, retaining customers isn't a priority, so another business will earn my money since Lowe's doesn't seem to need it. They used to be a great store. Pity, can't say that anymore. read more

My wife and I were looking to purchase a dishwasher went into the store was advised by an associate that the dishwasher was in stock and could be installed in a few days he lied to both of us dishwasher was not in stock and it's 1 week later and I still don't have a dishwasher because they had to order it and now their installers only install on Tuesdays booked out over a week this place is a joke and I'll never shop in the store ever again you lost a customer!!! Lowe's is more expensive than HD & the reason 4 that is customer service. I don't mind the slight price increase, if I'm going 2 be treated wonderfully by the entire staff during my visit. Every person in every department was willing to help on a Saturday afternoon, even the lady in paint directed me to plumbing after wanting to graciously help me herself. Being a woman, walking into a home improvement store is usually not that fun of an experience 4 most, but no one at this location will talk down to you OR treat you like an idiot because you DK how to build a house LOL Great location, wonderful staff & fantastic customer service, esp from paint & plumbing on this lovely Saturday afternoon! 5 stars for Dennis in hardware!!!! Last night my key broke off into my ignition. I went to Lowe's around 8:45pm once I got it out in hopes that they could help replace and/ or fix the broken key. Although they were unable to make a copy, Dennis (black guy) in hardware demonstrated great customer service skills by successfully putting my key back together. I still need to get another key because he was only able to make a temporary fix, but I was thankful for the fact that he went above and beyond his job title to lend me a hand. I forcefully offered him money as a token of my appreciation and he refused to take it, telling me that it was fine and to have a good evening. I told him I'd leave him a yelp review since he wouldn't take my money. This left a good impression on me and will definitely influence my decision to recommend Lowe's to family and friends. Thank you Lowe's for hiring competent ppl with great customer service skills. Please give Dennis some recognition!!!!! read more
