I was going to purchase $6800 work of vinyl plank flooring. Went thru the process of Lowes coming to my home to measure the rooms and then obtaining a quote for both the material and labor from their North Carolina facility. I went to the Manchester Ct. store with a bankers check for the exact amount to pay for the quote so that the installation process could begin. I was told previously that I would be able to pay by certified check because I did not want to charge that amount of money. Anyways when I got to the customer service counter, I was told that the system is designed only for credit cards and PayPal. They then said that there was a work around, but the check was made out to Lowes Services, and it should have said just Lowes. Are you kidding me. !!! I went to M&T bank to change it to just 'Lowes'. I was going to go back the next day to again attempt to pay my invoice/quote. However, that night I received an email stating that Lowes changed the original dollar amount that was invoiced so my check amount was no longer valid. Screw them!!! Went to Enfield Floor and Carpet and received a better deal. My advice is stay away from this store and Lowes in general. Store is totally clueless. read more

Rudest customer service assistant working self-checkout today I've ever encountered. Needed to verify my military discount by scanning back of Drivers License. I've done this many times. The scanning system usually doesn't work. Before I could even explain to the associate, that was more interested in her phone than helping, she started to lecture me that I wasn't doing it right. I didn't like her attitude and tone so told her. Started to simply walk away and she yells, "Come Back Here!". Couldn't leave the store fast enough. I've worked for Lowes as a recruiter and have been a customer for decades. I'll never ever go back to the Manchester location. read more

Business policies seem to be Lowe's focused rather than customer focused. I ordered a delivery online. The delivery was stolen. Lowe's corporate (after several weeks of contacting them) put me through to the store. A store manager (Rob) said he would check with the third party delivery company. He said if they took photos to "prove" the delivery he could (would) do nothing. I don't have what I ordered which was a Black Friday "deal" . If the delivery wasn't delivered properly, I will no longer be getting the "deal" Either way, I don't have the product and was told I had to file a dispute with my CC company. I was also told by Rob, that he would not be able to honor the Black Friday deal if I were able to come to the store. This, to me, demonstrates that Lowe's corporation does not empower its employees to fix the customer issue, but Lowe's would rather err on the company's side rather than the customer's. read more

Delivered damaged appliances and they don't tell you to cancell the protection plan. They don't refund the cost unless you call a separate number it's a scam ! Probably the worst experience I've had at Lowes or any home improvement store for that matter. I ordered a portable grill and the mini propane tanks to go with it - all done online which was fast, easy, and the order was filled within 2 hours. That's about the only good part about this whole debacle and why they get 2 stars and not one. After that, it only went downhill from there. I get to the store to pick it up, and there is no sense of order. No managers to help, a bunch of employees just standing around not knowing what to do or asking what the mass amount of customers need help with. It takes them a good 10 minutes to straighten out the fact that I needed to pick up my order. Once the grill was located, the associate then tosses it into a cart like a piece of junk. I then mistakenly ask help loading the two items into my car since I just had surgery and can't lift bulky items. The associate said yes, but then as soon as I pull my car up (which took all of a minute to bring my car around), she is nowhere to be found, my items are left at the front of the store completely unattended, and here I am struggling to get these items into my car. I will never be caught shopping here again. Utterly disappointed by this whole experience. read more

In another edition of build back better, we continue to see nothing is built, back or better. Every store I used to frequent like Lowe's is seeing the same issues over the last two years. No one is available to help or at registers to check out in a timely manner. I waited 15 minutes for self checkout and the line was out the door. People who worked at Lowe's were on the floor but no one to help out. This was the same when I waited 20 min for a manager to come get my grill tank. He never got out there and the nice but overworked woman at customer service had to come help me. Every single time I walk into a store it seems everyone is going to self checkout with no bags on top of it. Please work to let our elected representatives know that businesses will collapse and stores will no longer come to communities if we can't afford the products you offer. Let alone now have to do all the work ourselves to get checked out. American businesses have lost that personal touch and interaction I love. read more

Needed to replace a bulb in a favorite desk lamp. The two crew members helping me were friendly and energetic.Found what I was looking for. Another question I posed to another crew member did not go as well. The crew member confused me for five minutes. I got nauseous from their non answer. Worst customer service on the planet left me on hold for an hour. No way to speak with anyone.

I made an appointment for September 19 (took time off work) for someone to come to my home for a windows measurement and quote. The man that arrived (John) was very nice and took the required measurement. What happened after that has left me disgusted to the point of never walking into a Lowe's again. This was for two windows - not a big job. I can see two, maybe three days to get a quote. Two weeks goes by and not a word. So, I call the 800 number to check on the status and they said that they will get in touch with him and have him call me back. Two days goes by, no response. I call my local store that this was booked in and after 8 minutes on hold (and by hold, I mean the phone rings and rings and just bounces back to reception where no one answers it- great service) I asked to talk to a manager named Teresa. Teresa assured me she would look into it and call me back. She did call me back and said that someone would be in touch with me that evening at the latest. You can imagine my surprise to again, not receive a call back. So, I call again three days later, as I thought perhaps they needed a few days (only six minutes this time of the phone ringing and ringing at the front desk) and ask to talk to a manager. This manager tells me that John, has left the company. You can imagine my surprise to find this out as no one bothered to call me (or presumably any of his other customers) and the company just left me completely hanging. The situation gets worse when I find out they want me to have someone come out to the house again as apparently, they have misplaced John's measurements. I had to take time off of work for appointment #1, chase these people around for over a MONTH for a two-window quote, and now I am being asked to take more time off of work because they can't find their former employees records? As a note I have received quotes from two other companies and NONE of these companies have asked to come out to remeasure again. They tried to play this off as though this was a routine thing where they come out twice to measure the same windows. Right..... They did give me a loose quote when I described the windows to them which came in $300 HIGHER than the last quote that I had received. I have over 20 emails and 10 phone calls to follow up on this quote for TWO WINDOWS with this nightmare company. If you want a headache like this, please call your local Lowe's. Otherwise, stay far far away. read more

I generally like this Lowe's more than the Home Depot across the street, as I've had better luck finding associates when I can't find something (and poor customer service at Home Depot has infuriated me a few times, but that's a different review..). That being said, I've run into a few employees who are primarily stock boys, and don't have much practical knowledge/experience, which can be frustrating. **pulls out phone, uses free Wi-Fi to confirm my belief/purchasing needs instead** The store layout is also annoying, and doesn't seem to make much sense. Try to buy some lighting fixtures, wiring, bulbs and switches, for example. They'll have you in aisles 8, 12, 1, and 13, respectively. Why those things wouldn't be grouped closer together boggles my mind. I understand the marketing approach of putting common stuff (light bulbs) near the entrance, but not if it messes up the flow. - TIP - Download the Lowes smartphone app, and use the 'In-Store" option when searching. It'll give you aisle & bay item locations. read more

My husband and I went to Lowes 3 weeks ago to buy a washer. We picked one out, paid for it and were told it was in stock. We set up for delivery in 3 weeks.The day before delivery we were called and told it was on back order. I would like to know how it can go from being in stock to being on back order. They should have a computer program that should tell them how many are in the store vs. how many are sold!! I had them refund my money. If I knew this was going to happen I would have never bought the washer, or taken time off of work for it to be delivered. WII NEVER SHOP AT OR RECOMMEND THIS STORE!!! read more

I want to purchase a storm door and have it installed by Lowes. I have paid Lowes for a contractor to look at our doorway (a Lowes requirement). I was promised I would be contacted within 48 hours. It's been 6 days. I have talked to Millworks 4 times and been promised "you will get a call this evening" each time. Again 4 calls, 6 days, and no contractor yet. I should have my door installed by now. The customer service at this store is worse than terrible. Any promises they make are clearly meaningless. I am incredibly dissatisfied and I recommend you go somewhere else, maybe across the road to Home Depot. read more

I was honestly shocked at how me and a friend were treated tonight while trying to make a return. Yes, the return was a tricky one. We were past the usual return period (so shame on us) but the item we were returning had not been used as it was sold to us on a Lowe's Employee Recommendation and didn't fit our tractor. (They were tractor bags, spent around $400 for them and can't use). The two ladies at the return desk were great and very helpful. They said we would be able to return the tractor bags as long as nothing had been damaged, and that their Outdoor Sales Specialist just had to come and inspect everything. Easy enough. Well... then we were approached by a total hurricane of a person. He barged over and began barking at us like he was having a testosterone withdrawal. Ripped open the box and began to slam around the products, as though trying to scratch something and say, "can't take it". (If a manger is reading this, watch your security cameras on 6/22/19 between 7:10-7:19 at returns). After roughing up everything in the box and leaving it in total disarray, he tells us there are parts missing and holds up a ripped empty bag and he stormed off. We stood there not knowing what to do. He came back and said, "I'm not taking this if you took parts out. Stuff is missing!" We explained that we didn't take anything out and he cut us off for a second time and said, "yes, you took stuff out." Now we're being accused of lying and stealing. We said that we took the manual out of its packaging while trying to install the bags. "Then where is the manual? I don't see a manual in here." We produced the manual that was under the parts that he threw around at the bottom of the box. Then he said, and this was very inappropriate, "you go through that manual and I want to see that all of the parts are here." Um... that's what you're paid for. You were asked to come over and look everything over. You're the Shovel Specialist of the store, or something. I wanted to get out of there so I started to look through the manual. He stood there and watched as I looked through. Then he slam his finger down on a part diagram and says, "where's this? I don't see this." I held it up, as it was obviously there. Then he stormed off again without a word. The two ladies accepted the return and everything was fine.. but definitely buying the bags at Home Depot going forward. Once again, watch the security camera and turn the volume up on 6/22/19 between 7:10-7:19pm and watch this inappropriate behavior towards a paying customer. I've frequented this location many times. Honestly, I mostly prefer their product selection over home depot. My friend and I went here to purchase her boyfriend a large pit boss smoker this weekend. We knew exactly what we wanted. Took forever to find someone to help us. I feel like they have little in the way of staff around willing to help VS going across the street to Home Depot where there is almost annoyingly too much offers for assistance, lol. None of the smokers we wanted were available assembled so we opted to just take the box instead of waiting for however long assembly would be (though they do offer free assembly they say). The box is 215 lbs. I am very pregnant and my friend is tiny so we required a loader. The worker who got us the smoker told us to ask for a loader up front ... so we did. I pulled the pick up up front and we waited 10 minutes ... no loader. A woman working was outside filling propane tanks ... my friend nicely asked her if she would mind checking on the loader for her ... she said "when I'm done". Another ten minutes goes by ... no loader. My friend goes in again - asks someone at the cash register where the loader is. They call one again .... A half hour has gone by now ... and still no loader. My friend angry at this point goes in and demands a 4th person to facilitate getting a loader out to the truck as requested. At that time two elderly gentleman see me standing with the smoker and kindly lift the smoker into the truck bed themselves without a second thought! Our heroes! Still never saw a Lowe's worker come out. I know good help is hard to find these days ... but this location seriously needs to step up their customer service game! read more

I will never buy from Lowe's again. I bought a dishwasher a week ago and elected for it to be delivered. They use a third party vendor to deliver their items called XPO Last Mile, this is the worst functioning company that I have ever seen. I am horrified that a company like Lowe's would continue to use their service. I am on the fourth attempt of trying to get this delivered as they keep rescheduling me as if I have no life but to sit at home for weeks on end until they are good and ready to deliver an appliance I paid for. If a member of management of XPO does not call me today and advise they will fit me in the schedule, then I will most definitely be cancelling my order and going to Home Depot. Update: called XPO they said I wasn't on the schedule for today, after being told by the man last night he'd escalate and try to get me on the schedule. I have been an avid shopper at this Lowes since about 2003. I've purchased major appliances (fridge, dryer) in addition to smaller items and supplies for home projects. ALL of my painting supplies come from this store, alone. Prices are really good considering the vast selection. Aisles are neat, organized and usually well stocked. Personnel are usually very helpful, or at least willing to be helpful. It's a bit more expensive than Home Depot across the street, but the store is better maintained. Hints and tricks for this location - Check out the scratch n' ding appliance section! It's in the last aisle, closest to the auto doors adjacent to the cabinetry and kitchen displays. You can usually find amazing prices for appliances with minor cosmetic defects I didn't care that there was a minor scratch on the front of my dryer, and to save nearly $300, would you? There are also clearance racks scattered around the store, one is usually located in the rear of the lighting section and another by the bath hardware. Enjoy fixing up your home! read more

Went to buy a condensation pump for my de humidifier. They had a bunch last time...now the selection is limited to one....but I was in the sump pump area... I asked an associate standing in the same aisle if there were any others...maybe they got moved or something... His Answer... "I'm just here to print some labels...I don't deal with this section very much" (never looked at me)... I walked down the aisle...another associate...same question... "Uh, Gee I don't know...maybe you should look back in bathroom section... I know they moved some plumbing stiuff back there a while ago. Back to "The Depot"...again...will I ever learn. I probably should wait to cool off before I write these things...? PS: Why can;t big box stores put in a terminal with a search feature so people can finds something...a couple per store would help. read more

We have purchased a washer from Lowes in Manchester and its not delivered after a week with no contact or explanation. Today after several tries I could speak to a person who called himself a Jim ( refused to give his last name) with assistant manager title who suggested to wait till this weekend or cancel the order! I was expecting some explanation or apology for the delay and lack of contact, but had reached a rude and ignorant character with no sense of service. We purchased a stove and refrigerator, and were told the refrigerator was in stock and we wanted the stove in early October, We set up the dates and paid in full. A few days before delivery, never heard from anyone so I called to make sure and was given an assurance that my delivery was in place. I removed my food from my refrigerator and awaited the delivery. The delivery man comes to the door with the stove, and no refrigerator. I am told by someone at lowes that the refrigerator is on back order. After much back and forth, I return the stove, and cancel the entire order because I want the refrigerator now. The next day, I get a call that my refrigerator is on the way! Now I am scrambling to get this thing cancelled and trying to get all my money back. No calls from any managers, no apologies from anyone. I have to actually deal with the credit card company for any satisfaction of getting my money back from these two appliances, which were not cheap. Never shop here! Terrrible management. Fast forward to now, we had purchased a power washer before this happened and just now opened it to use. After 30 minutes of using it stops working. We bring it back and get a hassle of the fact that it is over 30 days past their return policy and can't get our money back. The manager argued with us that it is policy and we argued that the washer doesn't work and they should refund us. Two managers later and we stood our ground. We did eventually get a refund, but again, poor management, poor products. Last time in that store!! read more

We experienced the worst customer service at Lowes in Manchester, CT and then with follow up at the corporate level. Although the sales staff is very good, the customer service department is deplorable. The manager of the customer service department was indifferent, unprepared and disinterested in helping us. A preauthorization error by a customer service supervisor became our problem and the manager lacked any concern or motivation to resolve the issue. Lowes has been our go to store for home improvement needs in the 23 years we have owned our home. This was a $1700 sale. We will longer give this Lowes or any Lowes our business. Even after contacting the corporate office, the manager of the Manchester, CT store has not contacted us. read more

Delivery nightmare! Bought a refrigerator and asked for a Monday delivery after my closing. Got a call on a Wednesday saying they are delivering my fridge Thursday. I called to cancel and was told to call the store to reschedule. I called the next day and was told my Fridge was on back order! How could that be? Two weeks go by and I stop in on a saturday to check the status. I was told it was on the truck to be delivered that day. No call to confirm. Told them again to cancel as nobody is going to be there and to deliver monday. Was told consider it done. Got a call later that day from the driver saying he was 15 minutes away. Again I explained that nobody was on site. Called this morning to confirm a delivery time and was told that it was never scheduled for today. read more
