Two words. REAL HORCHATA. One of the big draws to this truck is that they don't make their horchata from a powdered mix. It's the real deal. Took a star off because they don't have lengua or tripa tacos. But their carne asada, al pastor, chorizo, and vegetarian tacos are solid. (Chorizo and al pastor were my favorites. The asada and vegetarian tacos were average.) Another winning plato: the taquitos with beans and rice. The beans are made-from-scratch creamy and the rice was soft and fluffy. The taquitos are topped with a cabbage mixture that's the perfect compliment to their crunch. Parking is easy after hours but I'm not sure how busy the little strip next to the food truck is during the day. There's also just one picnic table so you may have to dine in your car. CASH ONLY! Great spot for tasty Oaxacan food. Definitely one of my favorites on the North end. Al pastor is my favorite meat option, but they have great variety of proteins and veggie options. My favorite dishes are the mulitas and the enchiladas. Mulitas are not too oily and have the perfect crispy texture. Even after the drive home. They offer great hot sauces as well. Food is absolutely delicious, but the downfall is each time we go (which is usually once a week) we are pretty consistent for what we get and try to being exact cash as they are a cash only taco truck, EACH TIME ITS A DIFFERENT PRICE. True fortune to stumble across this place. The mole was delicious, and the tacos were super tasty, very rich in flavor and significantly less greasy than most places. Friendly counter service, as well (more on that later). The fact that the menu features grasshoppers, among other items, was a helpful reminder that Mexico is a huge and diverse country, with an equally rich regional diverity in their cuisine (including the Oaxacan focus at this stand) that extends well beyond tacos and tamales...next time, for sure, I'll try those 'hoppers. Full disclosure: the owners' daughter, who was our friendly server, attended school with my son, so it could be inferred that this review might carry a degree of bias. An embarrassment of riches these days in Pinehurst. First there's some decent Thai, passable Teriyaki, now a pleasant Jewish deli/bakery and a good Columbian place. And then there's this gem of a taco truck. Everything served at this tiny truck with a couple tables and rain shelter satisfies. Four tacos with either a water bottle or coke, check. Are you more hungry? Try six tacos with the same drinks, check. I've also tried the chorizo con huevo and the mulitas plate, check, check. Everything flavorful, well prepared and I'm satisfied with the value. When I walk out of the house and I want to satisfy some craving it's difficult for me to decide where to go. I live up the block. These folks are a staple in our diet. The fish bowl is one of the greatest things for dinner when you're exhausted, in no mood to cook and want something healthy. Grilled fish, salad, beans and rice. Its perfect. Wet burritos are so good. I gave up meat and the only thing I miss is Loxicha's asada wet burrito. 2, maybe 3 meals. The fish burrito is bomb though, so I can't complain. And do yourself a favor - get a side of beans. Because they are phenomenal. I have only been to Loxicha once so far but there will be future trips. They have earned my return. The Wife and I were looking for lunch on a untypical hot Seattle day and Mexican was the craving. Thanks to Yelp I found the listing for Loxicha and when I saw the small outdoor seating area I knew this was the place. Just don't blink. Even with GPS I had to do a loop to find this truck. I had the taquitos dorados while The Wife chose the veggie tacos. My taquitos were very crispy, maybe a tad too much so but with 5 to an order and a heaping helping of cabbage and cilantro on top and guacamole in between, I was not going hungry. I visited this taco truck on National Taco Day. They did not disappoint. Their chicken and asada tacos were amazing! The salsa verde was yummy. The salsa roja must have been more like diablo because it really spanked my tongue. The remaining chicken taco went uneaten. Too bad so sad for me. The chicken pieces in the taco were dried up w/ generic chili powder type coating on them. The side of avocado / guacamole was runny (from a jar?) and no one would eat it.
