Absolutely perfect. Growing up in Colorado (Denver is 40% Latino) and spending extended periods of time in Mexico (Oaxaca specifically), my standards for tacos are very high. this place is cash only. however there is a corner store right by it with an atm. as usual the combo meals are a little pricey but no one needs that much food. if you buy a few tacos or a burrito the prices are great. the veggie tacos here are the best that i have ever eaten any where including mexico. there hot sauce is amazing and very spicy, i always beg them to let me buy it in large quantities. this has become my favorite place to eat in seattle. What a great find! Our family's favorites are the taquitos dorados and the fish tacos and burritos. The kids love the marinated meats that are not too spicy. We call ahead for takeout and it's always ready. They've made the most of the small space, with a covered area and an uncovered picnic table. As my wife and I were feeling adventurous to explore for a new grub spot we stumbled upon this little gem. Immediately the owner greeted us with a warm and welcoming smile. My wife and I decided to order a few tacos each, but we also decided to try some entrees. The carne azada tacos were so delicious! The meat was flavorful and soft, not typical for carne azada. Then I decided to spice it up with their red hot sauce and let me tell you, it had a kick. The birria de chivo was quite good and so were their tamales de oxaca. I have never seen any place that specializes in Oaxacan cuisine in Seattle. Especially in a food truck which made it a pleasant surprise when I decided to give them a try after driving passing it a few dozen times. The truck is slightly hidden as it's nudged in between a printing shop and a Ethiopian restaurant. The small family that runs this truck are good people. Had plenty of times where I have talked to the owner. He's very friendly and open talking about the ingredients they use in addition to it's quality. From what I learned, they import some of their ingredients from Oaxaca! This just doesn't happen most of the time. Especially from a food truck. Personally, I love the Chorizo at Loxicha. Unlike other places I've tried, this is the real deal. For starters, it isn't really oily and you won't feel like you need lipitor after your finished with your meal. Another plus would be that it's chunky and has some chew to it in contrast to others that look like some sort of paste. Finally, the taste.....the taste...is unlike any other Chorizo that I've tried. This place makes the best veggie tacos in the Seattle area. The other items are good too, but the veggie tacos are huge and so satisfying. Always get the plate since the rice is also really really good. Nice people running the truck and consistent quality food. We call in our order about 15 minutes ahead of time and our foods ready for us as soon as we get there. Huge portions for the price. Solid taco joint if you're in the area and want a good deal. I got like 6 tacos plus a horchata for $15. Very filling meal. The meat wasn't as juicy and tender as I expected it to be, it was a little dry which is why I docked a star. I really like the grill pineapple that comes with the El Pastor, wish it came with the other tacos too. Oh my god. The veggie tacos are the best I have had in Seattle. They hook you up with the rice, beans, avocado, and sour cream. And they are only 2 dollars each!! Amazing. Grasshoppers? Yes. The chapulines/saltamontes were surprisingly good. While I ordered my tacos, one chicken, one park, one carne asada, the owner gave me two grasshoppers to try. They look like shriveled up little buggers as one might expect but they taste delicious. They're seasoned just right with a little bit of spice. Since grasshoppers are plant eaters, this makes for a healthy grass-fed protein. I will order next time. While the salsa roja was too spicy for me, the verde with the cilantro and lime was a beautiful combination on the tacos. I was in the neighborhood and very, very hungry around lunch time, so I stopped by. I got the taco plate with carne asada tacos. They can sometimes be dry at other places, but were perfect here. The refried beans were much better than average. But the main reason that I gave this place five stars is the service.
