    Autumn Roll

What a unique vibe and experience here. We walked around for a bit trying to find the speakeasy, but it turns out it's inside the Bluegold restaurant through a side door. We had a reservation and couldn't be accommodated for early entry, which made sense once we arrived since the space is very small (only about 6-7 tables). The ambiance is really nice, dark, intimate, and a great place to grab a few drinks and just chill. Service was very friendly, and the small talk made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Now for the food, as a Vietnamese person, I tend to be pretty critical when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine. This felt more Americanized and tailored to a broader audience. It's elevated, but for my palate, it was just decent. Autumn Roll - Had to try this since I'd never heard of something like this in a spring roll before. It was okay, but nothing memorable, especially for $18. (3/5) Garlic Noodles - Tasted good at first, but quickly became very salty. After a few bites, the flavor started to feel overpowering and fell a bit flat. Decent, but still just simple. (3/5) Shaky Shaky Beef - Essentially an elevated Bò Lúc Lắc. Was it good? Yes. But I've had better at a fraction of the price. That said, it was the best dish we ordered. The beef was good quality and seasoned properly, just pricey at $42. (4/5) Overall, I'd say come for the vibes and experience rather than authentic Vietnamese food. Personally, "elevated Vietnamese" feels a bit strange to me since I'm used to clean, simple flavors rather than something more heavy or overpowering. It's good, but very expensive. Definitely a vibey spot worth trying once, but not somewhere I'd personally return to. Parking: Street parking is available nearby if you don't want a time limit, or you can park in the nearby shopping center lot with 2-hour validation. I appreciated that the staff proactively asked if I needed validation, a nice touch.

Delicious! Let's start with the most favorite. That's the escargot with bone marrow! Yes I said bone marrow and a side of pate spread, my goodness! Whole lotta flavors, rich, salty, beefy, decadent goodness! Will def come back for this. Next favorite, fired sea bass. Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Came w/veggies & noodles, w/the traditional nuc mam (fish sauce). Made it into a wrap & dip in sauce. The caramelized shrimp & pork belly wasn't my favorite. Pork was overly cooked & hard, caramelized shrimp was soggy, overall the taste is delicious.

Way too delicious! Great flavors without being overpowering. Decor is simple yet creative. Definitely coming back!!

I came here with a party of 5 and the restaurant is essentially the same as Little Sister, which I have gone to many times. What sets this place above the little sister restaurants is the high level of service and speakeasy and intimate vibe. I would prefer this location over all of the others. We were able to try 7 items on the menu and everything was delicious! The cocktails were also very well balanced and refreshing. I would definitely return! If you have a hard time finding it, it is located inside a larger restaurant but they shared that LSXO will take over that entire space soon which hopefully means it will be easier to get reservations!

We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday, and it honestly felt like such a special experience. The space is tucked away in the back corner of the Bluegold restaurant, which made this feel all the more exclusive. On our reservation, I had noted that my husband has specific seafood allergies and dietary needs, and right away our waitress let us know she'd spoken with the chef to make sure he'd be able to order safely. I loved that level of care and attention. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't offer a birthday dessert for my mom at the end, but it wasn't a big deal as we had cake waiting at home, and by that point, we were all stuffed. Their attention to detail in the design is beautiful and everything feels intentional. The food was just as thoughtfully crafted as the space. Here's what we ordered: * Autumn Roll - 4/5 - Packed with fresh veggies, though I couldn't pick up much of the Chinese sausage or candied shrimp. Still, the overall flavor was light and refreshing. * Pho Banh Cuon - 5/5 - My favorite of the night. The beef was incredibly tender, the sauce was a great add-on. * Green Papaya Salad - 4/5 - I'm not normally a papaya salad person, but this was very flavorful and refreshing. They were able to accommodate us by plating all ingredients separately and even made my husband a special dressing safe for him. * Red & Black Rice - 4/5 - This was an impressively large dish with a pile of seafood over black rice. By the time this came out, we were stuffed, but the flavor was still rich. * Fried Seabass - 4/5 - Served with rice noodles, lettuce, and fillings so you can make wraps. The portion of fish was a bit smaller than expected, but it was flavorful and well-seasoned. * Shaky Shaky Beef - 3/5 - The rice was great, but the beef was a bit on the saucier side and got a bit heavy after a few bites. Still tasty, just a bit overdone on the sauce. House Garlic Noodles - 4/5 - A huge, shareable bowl of with garlicky noodles. Noodles were a bit on the more al dente side.

So yummy! Inside of BlueGold, makes it super fun to find this speakeasy! Ambiance was great, intimate place with limited seating so it is kinda hard to get in but got lucky with their bar seating Food and service was great, drinks were also great! Amazing place and will def be back!

Here's a polisWe had an extraordinary dining experience at LSXO. Anthony was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, thoughtfully answering all of our questions about the food and wine. The music, lighting, and décor came together to create a truly memorable atmosphere for our friend's birthday. The food was well priced and easily the best meal I've had in the last few years.

I single handedly came here to rave about the "red & black rice, mussels, octopus..." aka Vietnamese take on a Paella. It was so flavorful and it was actually a lot and worth the price point. I came for the drinks, but to be honest the drinks were our least favorite and didn't live up to the expectations. We had one of the drinks redone and the server was super kind and understanding about it. The braised pork was also delicious. Overall, it is pricey for Vietnamese food at the end of the day, but for the dishes that had more culture twist on it, that made the experience worth it. If I were to go back, I would definitely have the Viet paella again. ++ points for the view of the ocean as well

So I have been coming here for years. My review is the lowest it's been and it is ONLY for the change in ambiance and removing the old school music which made this place so special and worth a long drive. I was here NYE night and it was sad to see only 3 tables in the building. The food service was a significantly slower than most other visits for how little tables were there. The service was great and staff remembered me from my previous visits. Once the food arrived it was incredible, the salad is a must have!

Little Sister absolutely exceeded every expectation. From the moment I walked in, the experience was impeccable. Wendy, the hostess, set the tone right away--warm, welcoming, and incredibly polished. She made the arrival feel special and effortless. Jasmine, my server, was phenomenal. Attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely kind. She anticipated everything before I even had to ask and made the entire dining experience feel seamless. And the food? 10 out of 10 across the board. Every dish was beautifully presented, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell there's real thought and craftsmanship behind the menu. Between the outstanding service and incredible cuisine, Little Sister delivered a dining experience that was memorable from start to finish. I'll absolutely be back--and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-tier meal with equally top-tier hospitality.

What an absolute game-changer of a restaurant. After just two visits, it has already earned a permanent spot on our favorites list -- and we're counting down the days until we return. The food is nothing short of divine -- beautifully prepared, thoughtfully crafted, and unforgettable with every bite. The drinks? Top-tier. Creative, balanced, and designed to truly tantalize the senses. And the service ties it all together -- warm, attentive, and effortlessly excellent. This place isn't just a meal, it's an experience. We will absolutely be back.

Hidden annex (speakeasy-like) inside Bluegold. There's only 6 tables for 4 inside so definitely requires reservation and not suitable for big parties. Prior to coming here, I didn't realize how similar it was to Little Sister.. and then we also overhead one of the servers say to another table that LSXO stands for "Little Sister ExtraOrdinary." We kind of splurged with our order and had a ton leftover that we took home. He got a Last Sumurai (without egg white) and I got a Jade Pendant (without alcohol). We also got the octopus salad, crispy prawn, eggplant basil, salt & pepper lobster with curry seafood fried rice, & fig and orange bread pudding for dessert. The drinks were really delicious, and the flavors of each dish were good.. BUT, everything was just SO flavorful and wayy too salty for our palette. Like, I-need-white-rice-to-eat-with-this-fried-rice salty. Also, almost every dish came with cilantro.. the salad we had was pretty much cilantro salad with octopus. Also wish LSXO had their own dessert menu, and not just serve whatever was on Bluegold's. There was only one Asian dessert on there (Vietnamese coffee tart), and everything else was not Southeast Asian whatsoever. The bread pudding we got was just okay, definitely didn't really complement the rest of the dinner. Probably won't be coming back & will need to repurpose our leftovers with a lot of white rice.

To be honest, I didn't know what to expect here because there is such good authentic Vietnamese food in the garden grove area. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. And despite this place being a more expensive/upscale Vietnamese place, the food was incredibly delicious and authentic tasting!! We ordered the banh xeo, which was amazingly crispy and came with fresh veggies and delicious sauce. I also highly enjoyed their take on house garlic noodles - it was so flavorful with a more Asian flavor profile without being too dry. Honestly one of the best garlic noodles I've had. I'd also highly recommend the pho banh chon, which came with generous amount of beef and was super savory and fresh! The service was also excellent. I love the vibe here as well, there's a great view of the beach and it has a very intimate feel.

    Ask the Community - LSXO

Do I have to make a reservation? I went looking for your spot last week and had no idea it was a separate restaurant and just ended up eating in bluegold assuming you guys were just a pop up that were not there that night, how do I even get to you?

Hi Dan, LSXO is a separate restaurant and you can make reservations on OpenTable or by calling the restaurant directly. You can find additional information on our website: www.lsxohb.com - thanks.

Can items be tailored to be gluten soy and dairy free?

Hi, yes we can definitely make some dishes gluten, soy, or dairy free, or direct you to dishes that will work for your dietary needs. Please speak to your server when you arrive. Thanks!

Is there a cork fee if bring own wine?

Hi Bianca, our corkage fee is $35. Thanks!

Can I book LSXO for an event?

Hi Judy, yes absolutely! Please contact us directly at eventmanager@blackhousehg.com or call the restaurant directly. Thanks!

Is bar seating open seating or does it require a reservation? No one is answering the phone.

We did not make reservations and sat at the bar so I believe is first come, first serve. Uncomfortable chairs but good vibe! You can request different chairs, my boyfriend recently had surgery so they were nice enough to bring better chairs for us.

Does LSXO have gluten-free vegetarian options?

There are no "gluten free" labels on the menu. Some of the vegetable dishes and salads certainly look like they're gluten free. Clearly the baked goods and breaded things are not. Their noodles don't say if they're made with wheat flour. But…

Can we order items from LSXO at bluegold seating?

    No. You can't.

Is there a happy hour and if so what time and days?

Hi - unfortunately LSXO does not have a happy hour however Bluegold does! Please join us in the Bluegold bar for happy hour!

Do we need to check id before go inside?

    Hi, no ID needed. Thanks!

Anything for children? Is it possible to order a pizza from Bluegold

Anything for kids? Sure, if they like Thai! Call LSXO to find out for sure, but the vibe is more speakeasy than a restaurant. Note that the space is 1/3 bar, 2/3 restaurant w 6-8 tables. It’s an evening best enjoyed sans children.

Do you take walk ins? Or do you have to have a reservation?

We strongly recommend having a reservation. Given the space only has 6 tables they fill up fast.

What are all of the items on the dessert menu?

What is your capacity there? Please info, thank you

    About 20 people tops

Where can we view the current menu?

Our menu is chef driven and subject to seasonal ingredients. Because it is not static we refrain from posting it publicly. However, a menu can be provided by reaching out to the restaurant directly.

In the past I have been able to place an order for pickup (I prefer to eat at home sometimes). Tonight I was told that LSXO no longer offers pickup/to-go orders. Is this true?

Is there any open seating at the bar?

    When will you open yet?

Hello! Thank you for inquiring! Unfortunately, we don't know yet. Although the county has allowed…

Will you be openly by Father's Day?

    When is LSXO opening?

We are hoping in the next few weeks we will be able to open! We appreciate your support!

We booked a reservation on 3/6/21 through open table as it looked like you might be reopening. Is this the case?

Hi Jennifer, we are reopening but with indoor dining not being allowed LSXO will have to wait a bit longer before opening it's doors once again. As you may know LSXO only has 6 tables and is difficult to reopen with indoor dining restrictions.…

I do want to start by saying the staff was accommodating. When I made my reservation online, it only allowed me to book for six or eight guests (I can't remember which), but I had a party of 10. They were able to accommodate us and update the reservation so our full group could celebrate together, which I really appreciated. When I made the reservation, the only available time slot online was 8:45 PM. The earlier time slots were to early for the rest of my guest , so we booked what was offered. We didn't think that would leave us with such a short amount of time before closing at 10:00 PM. We also didn't realize until we got there that they don't serve full meals just appetizers. To be fair, I take some responsibility for that. I should have looked at the menu ahead of time, watched a few video reviews, and done a little more research before booking. That's on me. We still made the best of it. The girls were each able to enjoy a drink, the guys squeezed in two drinks each, and we ordered about three appetizers for the girls and three for the guys. Shortly after that, we were told it was last call for both drinks and appetizers because the kitchen and bar were closing. It felt like the evening ended almost as soon as it began. I do wish they had either not offered such a late reservation or at least let us know when booking that we'd have very limited time to order and enjoy the experience before everything shut down. If you're planning a birthday celebration or any gathering where you want to enjoy food, drinks, and time with your group, I would recommend booking an earlier reservation if possible or choosing another venue if only the late reservation is available. Hopefully, my experience helps someone else avoid making the same mistake.

This speakeasy is known for taking your cell phone and having a no photo policy. So when they didnt take our phones, we thought we were being sneaky with taking photos. Turns out on Sundays, it is their relaxed day where you are allowed to keep your phone, and they have the side door out onto PCH open. I loved this, but also hated it if I am being honest. PCH is so loud with motorcycles non stop, and it made the room very light. It didnt really feel like a speakeasy as you could enter right off the street. We entered through the hostess stand at HQ Gastropub. I had asked one of the hostesses what we needed to do and she stated she just arrived for work and I would have to ask another hostess when they came up to the stand. Bit weird, not the friendliest welcome, but the staff inside Graceland made up for that. The hostess lets them know we are there and someone comes out to take us back to the red door in the middle of the restaurant down a hall of colored barrels. Typically that is the only place you are allowed to take a photo before you hand over your phone. Back to the service. The bartender was AMAZING. She was so friendly and just amazing. Our waitress was great too, they were both helping us out. I wish I got the bartenders name, she was such a ray of sunshine and sparkle. Literally, she had a sequin top on and the sun hitting it put sparkle across the entire room. I had two glasses of chardonnay that were delicious. I also had a sip of my friends drinks and they were DELICIOUS! We did order food, and I ordered the spicy garlic edamame but never received it. I also was not charged for it, so it is what it is. The sushi nachos were good, as well as the beignets. I am not going to share the photos I took here, because I feel they want to keep it a surprise and I honor that. I would like to come back another time when the door is not open, it is darker and more private for the full speakeasy experience.

We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday, and making a reservation in advance was definitely the right move--we were seated right away as soon as we arrived. The atmosphere immediately sets the mood. The interior is modern and stylish, featuring warm lighting, beautiful wall decor, and really creative, eye-catching ceiling light fixtures that give the space a chic, elevated feel. The menu offers an incredible variety of contemporary Chinese dishes, making it perfect for family-style dining. We ordered a wide assortment of plates to share, and every single dish was flavorful and executed to perfection. The highlight of the meal was definitely the noodle dishes--the texture of the hand-crafted noodles was top-tier, perfectly springy and chewy. Their HK style milk tea with cheese foam and grass jelly is highly recommended on the side note. I really enjoyed drinking it along with all my food. We finished our celebration with their mango shaved ice for dessert, which was refreshing, light, and the perfect sweet ending to an amazing meal. From the attentive service to the fantastic food and gorgeous setting, QUA made our birthday celebration special. Highly recommended for group gatherings or a nice dinner out!

The restaurant was spacious and the staff welcoming. Our order was a selection of items across the menu; Pork & Shrimp Siu, Shrimp Har Gow, Braised Pork Belly over rice, Wonton Noodle Soup, Beef Chow Fun and topped off by Pineapple Butter Cake. We shared all the dishes. The portions are generous! So,, we have some very nice left overs! The restaurant is easy to find, has plenty of parking, and a friendly staff. Oh yes, pricing is very fair. Go and enjoy!

Gastropub was welcoming, had a great atmosphere for the match, and let people come in and enjoy the game without making them feel like they needed to spend hundreds of dollars just to have a seat. The staff was friendly, the drinks were good, and the overall vibe was exactly what you'd want for a big sporting event. If you're looking for a place to watch a game, have a few drinks, and actually feel appreciated as a customer, Gastropub is a great choice. I'll definitely be back.

Very chill with great music. Pro tip: When you walk in, DO NOT sit at the bar to the left. This is my second time and both Tim's the service is terrible. I would have ordered another cocktail if we would have had a server who paid attention to this side of the place - the only time people came over was to get water for other patrons. (This happened both times) The first bar you see when you walk in is the one you want to sit at if you're a bar top kind of person like me. Wouldn't return? You bet, but I will never sit on the left side of the restaurant ever again.
