That's Bridgette be careful if you are not all the way black

My family went to eat here and an older black lady Bridgette was sooo rude she treated the black couple in front of us kindly then the black man after with courtesy but she served my food sloppily and would barely answer my questions without a hateful tone. she was yelling at me about the price and my ability to pay for it...I asked for no onions and she placed so many on my plate. i was ready to leave at that point. The other staff thought it funny and I called the manager named Solomon and he was not helpful he put the blame on me because I was upset and did nothing to make us feel welcome either (btw he is blaxk too). I asked for a business card and corporate number but they claim there were none and three witnesses to that as well. My food was cold and the onions I asked her not to give me she threw in the plate anyways. I work In The media and had witnesses I will go to corporate next because we hold events here and that type of service is trash and that's is a contributing factor in the decline of our community.... and we are the same race she just thought I was not black enough maybe to get good seevice by an old angry woman. She should retire

I don't go to Lubys but my family wanted to go. I was very pleasantly surprised. The food and service were good. My wife told me about the luan platter, less food for less money. Found out they even have a senior discount for the luan platter so I got and enjoyed that. I enjoyed a smaller portion chicken fried steak with a choice of brown or white gravy....I tried brown and it was great, it came with 2 sides, I loved the green beans and spinach.

Totally disappointed that EVERYTHING on this pic was cold

Went earlier this month to the OST location, and there were quite a few strands on hair fried within the batter of my fish. Went to the S Post Oak location today, and EVERYTHING on my plate was cold. The waiter said it's been happening for a month so far, and management is aware, but nothing's been done. He mentioned he's had 40-50 plates sent back for the same thing. Since it's been issues at 2 locations, and nothing's being done, I conclude that Luby's doesn't care about their customers nor their quality. Kind of makes me think they're self-sabotaging, especially since so many locations are closing.

I received the best service from a waiter named Avery. We were greeted with a smile, he assisted us with our tray's and was very attentive. Not to mention great food

This is definitely not the Luby's I remember as a kid. This "fancy" Luby's, features outdoor seating, spacious inside, flat screens, colorful balloons, a multitude of windows, and a bar. Not sure if they serve alcohol, but there was a seperate "bar area" with a server and all. But everyone is right. We want out condiment table! We want our condiment tay-bal!!! Seriously. I come to Luby's for two things: mac 'n' cheese and hot rolls with honey butter. And here are two things that went wrong: sloooow check out service so that by the time we sat down, the grub was less than warm, and we had to wait even longer for that sweet butter. Oh wait, they don't have butter. They only carry margarine now! So it sucks that you now have to ask your hard-to-be-found server for things like butter, ketchup, hot sauce and straws. But I'll still go back. They've got this buy-one-get-one-half off deal every night after 4:30pm Mon-Fri, which is not bad for a simple dinner in Uptown.

Historically significant. Excellent food as you can see from the reviews…read more So I'll just post photos. My default ? Lemon cod, tabouli, coconut pie. The fried chicken is not good enough to recommend. As you will see, George M., the manager did respond to my comment. And I thank him for his response. (Though I was amused by how he phrased his response). Keep in mind. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Cleburne. I grew up in a Houston with Picadilly, Weldon's, Brittain's, Luby's, Wyatt's and more. Cafeterias in the 50's and 60's were an important way for families to dine out economically, and go to for the Sunday after church dinner. I visit Cleburne as often as possible, and my wife and I still reminisce about the matriarch at the register who could calculate everyone's bill in her head as they showed up to pay. Such wonderful memories. But as a person who has done fried chicken for decades, creating The Fried Chicken Blog (www.thefriedchickenblog.com) to document the fried chicken picnics in the German Czech communities of central Texas, and having fun with many different fried chicken recipes, I read his response about his chicken being one of the "best in the country," with amusement; so I will leave it up to you. Look at the photo of the dry, fried chicken on JUne 15, 2026, and then compare it to the photo I have just added for what I think fried chicken would look like at the best places (One example would be Barbecue Inn on Crosstimbers). There are some tricks to fried chicken. That is, once you decide on which traditional method you choose to go with. Example of one such: The batter of course, where you add a little moisture into the flour before the dipping and frying so that pieces of the wetted flour clump and will be picked up. Getting back to the Cleburne recipe. My guess is that this is one of the classic Southern, dredge in flour and pan fry, but not a buttermilk soak, dip, dredge, redip, dredge, fry method. This one is more akin to the classic skillet fry method and a simpler flour coating (I'm guessing). Which can be really good. But for me, I'd say, pass on the fried chicken and go for one of their other entrees.

Recently she had an afternoon appointment and I was able to swing by and join her. When her appointments were completed, it was in the beginning of peak traffic time, so we decided to walk over to DS and have a bite to eat and catch up This space is so open as well as cozy. Soon as you enter, you head straight to the counter to order. From there, you're given a number and choose your seat. Booth and table options are available. On a Thursday afternoon, the place wasn't busy but not empty, which gave my Mom and I the opportunity to catch up without a noisy dining room. The food came out fresh and hot and for the price, we were surprised by the portion since its was the $10 HH burger and fries. The fountain drinks were interesring as well. DS does not have Coke or Pepsi products. They have similiar flavors you would find with those brands. I enjoyed the Mexican Coke. It seemed to not be as fizzy aa your own well know caffenated Compadres but still carried a great flavor. Let me not skip over the dessert! Mom LOVED the pecan pie which she states had whole pecans instead of pieces. I did not wven notice that she had been getting pieces of the pie as we talked. Half of it was gone when we left. That means is pretty scrumptous! I had enough willpower to eat my chocolate chip cookie when I got home and it was worth the wait! Not only is the cookie huge, but the semi sweet chocolate and sea salt is chef's kiss. Grat combo of both worlds. Combine that with the crunchy outisude and chewy, gooey interior and this is one of the best cookies I've tasted in a long time. So glad to dish all this goodness to Yelpers and remind them of another gem in West U that will not only give you a great place to get a bite but satisfy that sweet tooth.

I stopped by with my buddy on a Thursday evening close to 9 p.m. Free parking was a cinch in the parking lot they share with several other businesses. Service (4.5/5): You order at the counter and then they bring your food out to you. The lady who brought me my food checked on me twice and was super nice. She called me "sweetheart," a little Southern hospitality goes a long way. Ambiance (4/5): Modern, clean, and comfortable. In line with other Dish Society locations I've been to. We sat at a booth/table combo. Drinks (4.5/5): I love when a restaurant has more than your standard selection of soft drinks. You'll find that at Dish Society. They have "craft" sodas and a nice selection of juice blends. Plus sweet and unsweet tea. Food (4/5): I went with a cup of the tomato bisque soup and the Nutella French toast. The soup tasted as good as it looked. Some croutons or a piece of garlic bread would have been nice, but outside of that, this starter couldn't have been better. The Nutella French Toast was similarly well done. I love French Toast and I love Nutella. So this was a match made in heaven. Along with some sliced strawberries and some blackberries, I was happy I went with a breakfast dish for dinner (they serve brunch all day). The prices are affordable for the quality of the food. My only complaint? The portion sizes are pretty small. Case in point: two slices of French toast when most places will give you four. Pro tip: Join their club for discounts.

The food and service have usually been excellent, which is why my recent experience was so disappointing. During my last visit, I was served by Fatima, and unfortunately, it was the worst experience I've had there. My order was incorrect, and when I politely brought the mistake to her attention, I felt that she responded in a rude and dismissive manner. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, her attitude came across as disrespectful and unprofessional. I've continued to return to Buffalo Grille over the years because of the consistently positive experiences I've had, so this interaction really stood out for all the wrong reasons. I hope management addresses these concerns so that future customers can continue to enjoy the high level of service I've come to expect from this restaurant.

We live in the area and passed by this spot so many times without even knowing The exterior is appealing and eye catching. The whole section of restaurants has a trendy and family friendly vibe. It would be the perfect spot to enjoy some outdoor bites and libations if not for the insufferable weather we have most of the year, but luckily, the interior is just as lovely. It's immaculate, well decorated, and deceptively spacious. There's plenty of booths, tables, and there's even a fully stocked bar and takeaway area The menu offers a variety of delicacies from a french dip, to pecan crusted chicken, to enchiladas. They have lovely handcrafted cocktails to choose from - some classic cocktails and some signature concoctions Everything tasted and looked great. The pecan chicken was more sweet than I expected, but still good. All of the sides were great. The cocktails looked great and tasted good. I did order one cocktail that gave ingredients but mentioned a "thick pink juice" that is made in-house, and upon my initial taste I soon discovered they meant beet juice. It wasn't bad, just unexpected and a little overpowering Our sever was good. Our orders came out quickly and without any issues. We did have to wait a while for top-offs on water. Also, as I was taking photos of the food our server was behind me and I apologized and they said "phone eats first," and I hope that was only meant in jest and not throwing shade lol Some tips: These plates aren't the most shareable, but if in a group I would consider ordering a variety of entrees and sides and trying each others meals If you're feeling something sweet after your meal, consider walking next door to Milk + Sugar.
