This is a great place for samiches....the only place that I know in P-town that offer spouts with the samich.....or as my co-worker's daughter would say it..."daddy can you make me a sando" Also this is a nice place on a sunny day just grab you samich and sit out on one of the tables with an umbrella. read more

This place is solid. Their fresh bread is good, and they use fresh horseradish (not the mayonaise-y stuff). They can go a little heavy on the sauce though. And their hours are kind of crappy (they close at five, I think). It's a madhouse at lunch time! read more

I've been here many times over the years, and have yet to try everything (it's impossible), and have yet to have anything other than a wonderful deli sandwich. First, is the overwhelming selection of everything - they have like a dozen different breads and rolls to choose from. They have about 40 different meat choices. And a ton of stuff to go on top. So do the math - choose a different bread to go with a different meat, and you have hundreds of different combinations to choose from. Oh by the way, the will even do half & halfs - so there go the choices again. Yesterday I had the vegetarian - $5.45. This sandwich is so big there is no way to politely wrap your mouth around it - so just get some napkins and dig in! As far as delis go it's hard to beat a place like this. Shortly after we arrived the line grew out the door, clearly a local favorite. Stopped here on a road trip and was not disappointed! I can rarely find a deli offering a corned beef sandwich and theirs is delicious! The bread is so fresh and so are their ingredients. They seem to have service during Covid-19 wired, only 3 customers allowed in at a time, masks required, and marked squares on the ground to stand in while waiting for your order. I saw multiple staff members cleaning and sanitizing during my short wait. A 4th man tried to enter the store and the employee kindly asked him to step out, they're serious about keeping everyone safe! The baked goods were also a hit, we had the raspberry crumble bar. Their drink and chip selection is great too! My family and I frequently drive that stretch while visiting our respective families and will definitely be stopping in again. Lucchesi's is hit or miss for me. Usually the sandwiches are good and the service is as well, but yesterday my mind was blown for the first time at this establishment. I ordered the speciality Mexican chicken and avocado and cheese sandwich, and the person taking orders told my coworker that the sandwiches only come with the three items listed. I have never been to a sandwich shop that didn't allow me to add lettuce, tomato, or onion to a sandwich. You would think that they would make your food exactly how you want it? Went here with my husband to get sandwiches one weekend and once we figured out the menu set up we were able to get exactly what we wanted. I made my own sandwich with cranberry, turkey and cream cheese. The ingredients were fresh and they prepared our sandwiches quickly. Every sandwich I've had from here has been 4-5 stars so why the 1-star review now... they stopped taking phone orders!! My coworker and I eat here at least 3 times a month and I always called our orders in because like most people, we have a limited time for lunch. I understand that they get busy (and if they're too busy, they do take the phone off the hook) but they've now made it too inconvenient to frequent there. Very disappointed. The choices are seemingly endless and the menu covers a lot of them. Drink choices are evidently important at this place because the operators have a virtual quickie-mart of single serve beverages for you to choose from...literally there is more square footage dedicated to drink choices than there is deli case. All that aside when your number gets called your order is ready. Pay the price ( pretty reasonable unless you really went for a wild sandwich) and be on your way. I think Lucchesi's makes one of the best deli sandwiches you can get in Petaluma. Their fresh baked baguettes are the only way to go, you're wasting your time if you order any other type of bread. Weird thing about Lucchesi is they don't put pickles on sandwiches. If you want pickles, you pay $0.40 extra. They have always made my sandwiches correctly (no mayo, no cheese) and have always been very friendly. My advice- call in your order instead of going in and ordering. Wow. What an awkward lunch my family and I just had. From the moment we walked in, we were not greeted with friendly faces, the woman who took our order with the multicolored hair couldn't muster up a smile and seemed to rush us through our order. Then when we got our food and were sitting to eat, we got stares at the whole time from the staff, and even the guests. I'm pretty sure this is 2015 and these people were acting like they've never seen a biracial family before. It was incredibly uncomfortable and we will NOT be recommending this place to anyone .
