Fantastic pizza and a very cute older couple running the place. Great experience and fun conversations.

I'm not going to dispute that this could be the best pizza in Laurel... but as my wife has said "there are slim pickings around here" for pizza. I wouldn't steer people away from here (it's a-ok). The pizza had a few things going for it - slightly better than average toppings, the cheese wasn't greasy and the sauce was completely on point (not too sweet, not too acidic - really great, possibly the best in the area). The downsides: Price point is up there with gourmet pizza places, but the quality isn't quite there (over $20 per most pies). We tried to order one white ($17) and one Bosco ($20) - but somehow we either screwed up the order or they did - cause we got to Boscos - so this was a bit much for pizza night. Next is the crust. It's bland, crispy but in a cracker way - no doughy-ness to the crust under the pizza. I think it's just plain bad, my wife thought it was passable. Honestly - putting it all together, I had higher hopes, but it wasn't a bad meal, it was okay. I'll still continue my hunt for a better pizza in the area, and remain perplexed how we can have SOOO many pizza places that aren't that good. read more

Excellent Pizza, very pricey though. 3 Medium Pizzas---1 cheese, 1 veggie, 1 pepperoni- $60 dollars. This is a small family owned shop and I think they are way out of range in comparison to Pizza Hut, Pappa Johns are even other pizza shops. Very good pizza, but terribly overpriced! read more

Best pizza in the area hands down. What's more is Lucero's being a family owned small business, simply the best customer service I've had anywhere at anytime - the owner and other staff who answer the phone and take orders are amazing at helping to determine the right menu for your home event or meeting. The pies from Lucero's are delivered hot and fresh, with only the best ingredients. I opt for this Lucero's over any chain pizza joint any day, it's just so much better and not super greasy or tasteless like domino/etc. If you're in the area and looking for good pizza, call this place you'll love it!!! read more

Nice people, food was terrible. I guess living in Los Angeles HAS made me a food snob. It just was not that good. I think dominio's is better for the price. The salad is a head of ice berg lettuce. overpriced for sure. Won't be coming back and the owner was pushing bottled water vs. tap saying he didn't have filtered water. I am okay with tap, oh but I think you would like bottled more.. OK FINE give me 2 overpriced bottles of water. read more

Best gyros in town! I spotted this pizza shop on Route 29 and decided to give it a try and I can definitely say I sure am grateful. The costumer service is great, and welcoming. They made sure I was well taken care of. Mrs. Maria is one of the sweetest woman you will encounter with, Mr. Hector sure means business but great overall. I ordered a gyro, cheese fries and Steak and Cheese all 10/10 very filling and flavorful. My friend had the pizza and said it was great. This is my new favorite pizza shop! read more

BEST PIZZA IN THE DMV! I've grown up with this pizza and have had it a million times and it's seriously the best pizza I've ever had. I order this pizza anytime I'm having friends over and the pizza is always the first thing to go. My friend from New York came to visit and was skeptical when I told him this pizza is better than New York pizza and a box of pizza later, he concluded that it in fact the best pizza he's had. A bit expensive but good place to try. Shared a small pizza with a friend. Good crust, cheese was good but watery. Their style is a bit different in that they don't put a lot of sauce...in fact, there was so little sauce I asked the staff if they actually put any on there. They said that's how they normally make it, but for my dissatisfaction they gave us a cup of sauce. Sauce is Great! Robust and fresh, it's clearly the star of this business, glad I inquired! We tried Lucero's for the first time today. Picked up a medium pizza with half pepperoni and banana peppers, half sausage, green pepper and onion. The pie was done perfectly, it was exactly what we wanted in a pizza. Fresh ingredients, excellent crust, and generous portions. The owner was working alone, which is the way things are these days with everyone trying to survive. We can't wait to go back and try a sub and other menu items. Way to go Lucero's! read more

I only bought one thing but man was it goooood. Try the Greek gyro with lamb salad. I have been looking for a great lamb salad for 5 years that I have lived in Maryland. There has never been a restaurant here that comes even close to this. Very veggie was crisp and the lamb had a wonderful crunch to the outside. Perfection. read more

Had to be the worst buffalo wings I've ever had. Went in the trash. The sauce is very runny. The chicken was poor quality, hard and rubbery.

This is my favorite local pizza delivery. They make a good pizza with the right amount of sauce and fresh toppings. The crust is not soggy and it's not oily. Much better than Domino's or Pizza Hut. I love their suicide steak burrito. If you like spicy.. it'll make the hairs on the back of your head stand up. If you like chicken wings, opt for the oven baked wings. They take longer to prepare, but they're worth it. They also do take out and eat-in too. read more

Nothing great here. Being from UpState NY the mecca of deli's and pizzerias and having worked in several for years, I know a real za' when I taste and see one. The pizza sadly is not authentic. It is overpriced as well. We spent $40 on a large pizza, 1 small sub and 1 large side. Definately not coming back here. It was disappointing. read more

Their pizza is great to excellent. It is relatively thin crust and quality toppings, and handmade to order by the owner. Sauce is average to good, service is also excellent. Based on these qualities alone, I would give them 4-5 stars. The prices are way too high for pizza. A medium 3 topping (pep/mush/onion) pie was $18 (takeout). $18 is the going price for a medium from Faccis (up-scale brick oven pizza joint up the road that uses imported toppings). The same size/topping can be had at most other local chain and non-chain (and non-upscale, which Licero's most certainly is) pizza joints for less than or equal to $14 (takeout). Trust me, been there, done that. This takes Lucero's score down form. 4-5 to a 3. I suspect their pizza prices are so high because: 1) they charge nothing for delivery and pizza is probably their big seller/delivery seller, and/or 2) it is difficult for them to get business in their current location. Their current location is a strip mall that will probably be gone/bulldozed within 16 months; the popular Maple Lawn shopping district nearby has made this location obsolete. TLDR: pizza is overpriced, but worth a try. Service is great, not a bad place to give a try. Give it a shot, it may be gone soon. read more

Ordered delivery on a weeknight, arrived fresh and on time (quicker than their estimated time). Lucero is a neighbourhood mom and pop place, and I love to support local businesses....especially since most pizza joints are franchised. The venecian pizza is our favourite, and I really feel like Lucero pizza is less oiler than other places around. The french fries are also delicious....they also have a neat packing strategy so that it always arrives crisp and not soggy. Try it! read more

I really like the food here , and the prices aren't too bad either. Be warned though , if you get delivery! the guy doesn't leave his car and he won't call you when he's there ( I asked why they didn't call me , they said they don't do that). Lucero's delivered the best pizza I've had so far in Laurel. I've lived in the area for three years and I only recently learned of this restaurant while looking for something different than the three BIG chains. I called to have my order delivered and the lady who answered the phone was very nice and professional. She very politely let me know that the wait would be a little long because they were also filling a large order. I appreciated being told this upfront. The food arrived during the timeframe estimated and the deliveryman was also very professional and polite. I will say that the pizza was pricier than I'm used to paying. But it was also fresher and tastier than I'm used to. The crust was probably the best, freshest crust I've ever tasted and the ingredients were very fresh as well. The crust is like Texas toast on a toasted cheese sandwich and the topping are average at best. The cheese itself is really bland and the sauce is just OK. I tried their pizza a few months back and it was delicious. The toppings are fresh and very high quality. Since then I have tried several other items on the menu. The Chicken burrito is the best I've ever had. But my favorite is the Spaghetti. They make it from scratch. It takes a while to make but it is well worth it. The food took 1 hour and 45 minutes to come, they told me a 45minutes to an hour, they are busy... We called them and told them they just took entirely too long. If I had know it was going to take an hour longer i would have ordered from someelse. The owner didn't offer to take any money off our bill so we told her to take the food back we don't want it. Customer Service is horrible!!! Example: my soda was flat and the owner insisted on tasting it from my cup to make sure I wasn't lying. I asked if I could have a bottled soda instead, he said but when I was about to grab the bottle out of the fridge he changed his mind and insisted that I only take a can, not a bottle. What a nice way to nickel and dime your customers... when you are the one that has a broken soda machine. Additionally, the pizza tastes greasy and bland. Nothing special.
