I received a mailer this week from Luciano's the day after receiving one from a nearby competitor. Both menus looked good but I was intrigued by the specialty pizzas Luciano's had to offer. Many were similar to what I saw in pizzerias in Manhattan when I lived there. I was so thrilled to have eggplant parm on my pizza again! This was my favorite slice at a place near me in the UWS! Online ordering was easy and delivery was only $1 - it was supposed to be able to take credit card orders online but in the end the only option was cash. That was annoying since we are trying to be contactless with COVID-19 going on and I'm not really going to leave an envelope of money on my doorstep. As promised the pizza showed up at 45 minutes on the dot, piping hot and delicious! I ordered 3 small pizzas so I could maximize the number of options to try. The shrimp scampi pizza was good, although I would have preferred cut up prawns to bay shrimp. The white vegetable pizza was a nice mix of fresh broccoli and tomatoes with lots of base cheese and ricotta. I loved how cheesy this on was! But of all three, my favorite was the exotica pizza - nothing beats eggplant parm on a pizza!! Everything tasted great upon reheating the second day as well! I will definitely order from them again in the future - hopefully the online ordering will be more streamlined and allow for the coupon entries from the mailer as well! read more

Tired slice of pepperoni pizza that's been under the light too long. At 7pm, I was hoping they had lots of fresh pizza. Not very friendly. They acted shocked that I asked for salt. I had to explain that they could give me salt in many ways other than "we don't have those little packets." Tried out this spot after a recommendation from a friend and we were intrigued and in the end it was just okay. Most of my problem was when they double charged us since I ordered online and when my boyfriend went to pick it up he ended up paying as well and we did go back and he got his money refunded to him but still the hassle wasn't worth it, the pizza was tasty but the dough was as very chewy so we ended up being very underwhelmed. I got the Luciano's Special which had Italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, black olives, and onion. Pie came hot and tasted good. Crust was very sturdy, able to hold a slice without it flopping all over. Toppings were mixed with the cheese which is nice as it prevents the toppings from sliding off. Not to much sauce either which again helps prevent the toppings and cheese from sliding off. Had a few extra slices leftover and heated them up the next day. Re-heated it still held up. read more

So let's keep this review in context... Recently, my family and I have been experimenting with gluten-free (GF) options. While I haven't tried as many GF pizzas as I'd like to, this place definitely made the best one that my family has tasted yet. The crust was thin and crispy-- yummm! It didn't even really taste like it was GF, which actually sort of scares me because I am *praying* that it actually is GF since it tastes like "real" pizza, gluten and everything. (If you actually have Celiac's disease, I would double check to make sure they're not performing cross-contamination). We ended up ordering pizza again a couple weeks later, and the same quality was present as the first time around. Just for the pizza, I would've given 4 stars. However, they're salads are pleasantly packed and full to the brim-- especially for a takeout pizza place! I should also mention that the GF pizzas are pretty expensive-- they're about $5 more on average than a regular pizza, and the largest size they go is "large." On the bright side, they always have coupons at the front counter which have some nice deals. The people are nice, the GF pizza is good, I'm a happy camper. They messed up sooo bad on our last order we ordered at around 5 ish and didn't receive tile 745 pm then it was cold and they re- did it but we received that at about 930 pm. I have to be honest--I'm not picky about pizza. High-quality pizza? Perfect. Mod Pizza? Yum. Domino's? Delicious. Frozen pizza? Good. Whatever, it's all pizza--even when it's bad, it's still pretty damn good. Luciano's was one of the few pizza places that delivers to my new apartment (I'm sad, Domino's!), so I decided to give it a shot while watching the game with the BF. We decided to go with a Large Pepperoni and some hot wings. This was about $26 with tax, which is pricier than what I normally pay for pizza but that also includes delivery which was surprisingly quick. The crust was soft and yummy, although the pizza itself was a little bit greasier than I would have liked. Nonetheless, pizza is pizza. I was also very happy with the wings--they were delicious and perfectly hot! I also liked that they weren't smothered in sauce at all. I really wanted to like this place the first time we ordered it was amazing. This last time we ordered not so good. We don't like green pepper so we had asked for no green peppers on the specialty Chicago Way pizza we ordered. As soon as it was delivered I could smell the green peppers. So disappointed. If they do not do changes on pizza maybe put that somewhere or call me. The chicken caesar salad this time was not at all like the first time we order. This time the salad was not crispy and the croutons were small and soggy. We put them in the oven to toast them up. Got the $19.99 combo - 1 medium specialty pizza and 10 wings (I chose buffalo wings with blue cheese and Luciano's Special Pizza) I have them only put olives on half. I ordered online and they followed my directions perfectly. Pizza arrived in less than 45 minutes. Excellent and I thought it was very good and the pizza is excellent the traditional crust is thin & superb. These people are very, very, good at their job. I'm going to swing by here I'm sure for pickup. I just can't believe that in 6 years I had never followed up on a menu-flyer delivered to the house. Me and my boyfriend ordered delivery from here tonight, and never will again! The woman that answered the call was rude, short and unhelpful. They wouldn't sub the side or free salad that came with a coupon to anything other than the dinner salad, even when we asked to UPGRADE it. Never had a restaurant not offer a different salad even when you expect to pay extra! I ordered the Vegetarian Pasta, a new item! It said all the pastas came with their special homemade sauce. And the Veg Pasta had butter, garlic and feta cheese. They delivered me dry spaghetti with minimum vegetables. When we called to ask about the homemade sauce they argued that it didn't come with any. This continued for a while until they reluctantly sent us a new pasta with sauce, like the way it should have been! Still nothing great. VERY RUDE! You should never argue with a customer. I really like ordering pizza from Luciano's. I have been a customer now for about 18 or more years. I think this is my first review. When I started ordering from them years ago it was a treat to reward myself with a higher quality more expensive pizza. I only found out about them through mail coupons. But if I could afford it way back then it was worth it. No skimping on toppings. No oily flavored crusts. And their largest pizza was bigger than the normal fast food chain pizza places by about 2 inches. At that time about $12 more per pizza. Now in 2023, they have changed management. Still very good. I got a free pint of ice cream the first time I purchased through the new owners. The pizza is still very good. They do not have quite as many toppings on the pizza as they did in the early 2000's. Not a surprise. No body does. But this is what makes the difference for me. Most of the chain pizza places charge for delivery per pizza. Per pizza. If you calculate all of the convenience charges on to the cheapest pizza at another place, Luciano's is no longer that much more expensive. But the quality is still higher. If you don't believe me, download some apps and do some homework. They also use their own delivery drivers if you live within their delivery zone. They have delivered here several times before and know what part of my home to bring it. I cringe when I do not know if the third party delivery driver is going to go down 2 or 3 driveways and I have to go out to the sidewalk and guide them in. Because the only thing they know about your neighborhood is what they learned via GPS. That is not an objective opinion. Just my own opinion. You can decide on your own. If you factor in the quality of the pizza, the higher price compared to the delivery surcharges others apply, and the consistency of the delivery. Luciano's is a good deal. And not that much more expensive if it is delivered. I only wish their hours were the same as the prepandemic era. But I and everyone else should at least for now, understand. read more

I've been here a few times while running errands and have had the Cobb and Chicken Ceasar salads...halfs are plenty and piled high with well seasoned grilled chicken. Also tried a slice of the pepperoni pizza...kinda greasy but hit the spot. I don't understand why so many folks say owners/employees of some food establishments are rude, unfriendly, etc. Sometimes you have to take into consideration where they're from...in some cultures business is business, not a personality parade. Americans want sunnyside up greetings and warm and fuzzy friendships everywhere they go. To me that's not realistic...I'd rather have grumpy and good food, than happy and who knows what they did to it. Tolerance is the key. I like luciano's. They always have coupons for a few dollars off. I usually get their pesto chicken or the house special. Cheesy, medium-thin thickness. Tasty pesto. Best when eaten hot. I usually call ahead and pick it up. I also like the pizza cold the next day. I've had their salads here and they're bigger than I would've expected. Chicken wings are chicken wings, nothing too special. Cheesy bread is what you can make at home, skip it. Try the pesto. It's good. One note, they don't skimp on toppings, but if the pizza has pepperoni, I've found that it can be a bit too salty. This is a different kind of review. I have never had the pizza here so I don't know anything about the product. However I have been into their establishment. I was stuck on the side of the road with a dead phone, no cash and I had lost my wallet, I went in there to see if they would help me. They let me use their phone for over half an hour and we're kind to me the entire time. The staff was very nice and The place was very clean. I would see food go up and the delivery guy would grab it immediately and go to deliver it. I want to go back to Seattle to eat there and say thank you. Horrible food!!! the lettuce in my salad was turning brown/red, the sketti tasted like jarred sauce, the meat balls were the frozen type that can be bought at the store. The most insulting part of the meal was the "Hot Wings". The menu bragged how authentic they were.....nope. They were very fatty, rubberized skin, I asked for them x-tra crispy, and had a horrible after taste. I'm pretty confident that they to were the frozen type from the grocery store. And to top it off the incorrect receipt was given to me, this will make it difficult to expense this through my employer.
