    Egg with Bacon
    Leana N.

I have no passed by this place when visiting my dad over the years and never tried it. We tried it today with my sister getting a breakfast burrito and I got the egg breakfast sandwich. Bacon was crispy and abundant and it was as a hearty sandwich with me only finishing half. The staff got the line moving and sat outside. Simple place but everything appeared very consistent.

I know Lucky Boy has a loyal following, but it just didn't live up to the hype for me. It wasn't bad--it was just okay. The burger reminded me more of Burger King than a legendary local burger stand, and the zucchini fries were surprisingly bland. Even the ranch dressing was disappointing, especially compared to Original Tops, which I think does it much better. The portions are huge, but I'd rather have quality over quantity. The one thing that really stood out was the pastrami. That was excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. Overall, I can see why people like it, but I'd choose Original Tops every time.

This Night crew is dog shit, can't fry potatoes . The fish and chips sat in its x closed container for too long, everything was soaked in it own moisture.

Heard a lot of great things about this place from my co workers and decided to give it a try. My expectations were met and I was pleasantly surprised. It looks like it is a hole in the hall kind of place, but it is massively popular with a lot of foot traffic. It must have been spread by word of mouth and for good reason. Service: they are very very quick with making the food. You order outside and pick up inside. Ambiance: there is plenty of space for parking as well as the restaurant itself. Lots of seating inside and some outside as well. They have a bar for you to get sides, utensils, and Togo stuff. Food: they are famous for their breakfast burritos, I ended up getting a burrito two ways with bacon and sausage. It was HUGE! It was bigger than my forearm and the food was so so good. The sausage was whole and juicy, the bacon was crispy and not burnt, the eggs were moist and flavorful, and the tortilla was warmed on the grill. The portions are MASSIVE the burrito can definitely be shared between two people. It ended up being $14 but with it shared between two people that comes out to be $7 per person so very affordable. Overall, this place is very good if you're in the mood for a breakfast burrito. The quality is fantastic and the price is amazing.

The streak fries were hot and fresh and burritos were pretty big, but lots of tortilla. Nothing spectacular that I would come back to. They also charge for extra salsa.

I've heard these breakfast burritos are the go to if you want a breakfast burrito and that statement couldn't be more right. This is a burger joint with a diverse menu, including one of the biggest breakfast burritos in town. I got my burrito with bacon. The burrito comes with hashbrown style potatoes, eggs and cheese - you get a choice of ham, bacon or sausage for your meat (or have it without meat). The bacon was crispy and remained crispy when I reheated my other half. Not only is the bacon crispy, the burrito has a generous amount of it! Oh and the other plus - the tortilla does not come wet and soggy and remains in perfect condition if you have leftovers. The burrito comes with only one salsa and to be honest, you really do need two for such a big burrito. I'm a green salsa girl but I asked what I should go with and I was recommended the red one (the green one is supposedly spicier). The red salsa did not disappoint other than I needed one more for my whole burrito (there's no kick to this salsa but it's tasty). The burrito itself isn't bursting with flavor on its own and it requires the salsa to compliment the other ingredients. But, who eats a breakfast burrito without salsa? There is ample parking in their parking lot and there's seating both inside and outside. I will definitely be returning to satisfy my breakfast burrito craving very soon and if this is what you're looking for - stop reading reviews and go get you one at Lucky Boy (it's served all day).

Super yummy! This is a great burger spot. My burger was pretty yummy and I loved the chili cheese fries. My husband got a pastrami sandwich and it was huge. The sandwich was loaded with a ton of pastrami! So we took the extra pastrami that was falling out of the sandwich and put it on top of the chili cheese fries and that was super good. I loved the pastrami way more than the pastrami from The Hat. It has a different and better flavor than other pastrami I have had. It is a bit pricey but I do think these are typical prices now since inflation and everything is just more expensive these days. We paid about $36 and got a large drink, a large chili cheese fries, a pastrami sandwich, and a cheese burger. Super yummy and I'll definitely be coming back. This will be one of my go to burger spots

This is our first time at Lucky Boy and we our trying their delicious items on thier menu especially their famous pastrami. Friends were telling me go to Lucky Boy in Pasadena and try their burgers and especially their two popular items their breakfast burrito and their famous pastrami. Then I heard pastrami I told my wife let's go Lucky Boy and try their delicious mouth-watering pastrami. We arrive there and step in the restaurant and look at their menu displaying on the screen,we look and found what we looking for the pastrami we order it and side salad and two drinks. The interior of the restaurant is really nice with awards and pictures of Pasadena and pictures of Lucky Boy through the years. Couple minutes later they our number my pickup our meal,I notice the pastrami was pretty big but the aroma was overwhelming smell of pastrami. Unwrapped the pastrami smell fantastic it was cut in half then I give the other half to wife. I took a bite of my half pastrami I say to my wife OMG so much flavors in the pastrami and very juicy. The juices of the pastrami is so good, the meat was lean and have some fat but fat is good it bring flavor to pastrami that make so good. My wife love the pastrami and enjoy it. The side salad was very good. Overall we enjoy the pastrami at Lucky Boy we will come back for more pastrami sandwich or try different items from their menu.

"Famous" Pastrami Sandwich. Juicy, tasty, legit.

Juicy and tasty hot pastrami sandwich. Open until midnight, perfect spot for post workout bites, will be back for sure! Grab a seat where you can hear the dude yelling out pickup order numbers, free entertainment, haha. Iykyk. Note: items on the video menu with pictures do not appear a second time on the list menu, so you kinda have to look at both.

I tried the breakfast burrito with sausage, egg, cheese and bacon! It was $14. Burrito was large enough to feed 2 people. The eggs are cheesey and there's a generous amount of the bacon. There's a free parking lot. There's outdoor and indoor seating available.

Lucky Boy A patient of mine was recommending this place as a good breakfast spot for breakfast burritos. I am a big breakfast burrito advocate. I do like them a certain way, though. I gave this place a try early in the morning. Plenty of parking before 8am on a weekday. It had very retro diner vibes and the service was very quick. The burrito was massive, and it was pretty good. I only wished I could choose more than one meat, I ended up with bacon, which was extremely crispy. The potatoes were a bit overwhelming for me. You'll definitely be full after this meal!

We saw so many videos about the infamous breakfast burritos at Lucky Boy in Pasadena that we decided to check it out for ourselves. My kids and I brought our appetite! The burritos were huge and filled with so much bacon, hash, and scrambled eggs. If you don't want bacon you can order your burritos with sausage. The service was quick and their staff were very helpful. They really know how to keep the line moving.

I visited this location on a Sunday. The venue has a small private lot so parking is doable. There is also street parking if the lot is full. Ordering is done outside via a window. The menu is vast as it has breakfast & lunch options. I opted for the famous breakfast burrito with bacon & a lemonade. I was not prepared for that burrito. Size is comparable with chipotle. The burrito comes with a side of salsa which was nice. Indoor seating is also available with traditional diner booths. Self serve ketchup, pepper, napkins, & peppers are available as well. The burrito was a 9/10 for me as I felt it needed a bit more seasoning. Overall, a very yummy burrito. The staff were open to questions & very kind. It can be a bit loud as the venue can get packed however the venue has a nice selection of music ranging in genres which was a plus. I def want to come back for the zucchini fries & to try one of the burgers.

Do they have beer battered onion rings?

Lucky boy has their own recipe for their onion rings which are famous since 1961. They do not use beer.

Did the bacon change? The last couple of times getting the breakfast burrito the bacon had a sweet taste to it

I ordered the sausage burrito but don't think they change out the bacon.

How's the rueben sandwich? I was just at the arroyo Pkwy location and I was informed they don't have it?

It's actually a Classic Rueben. And it's very good.

Will you be open the morning January 2nd 2023?

I've eaten there on New Year's Day after the Rose Parade in past years, so I'm almost certain they will be open.

Wait, so can we order breakfast burrito's all day or only until 10:30am??Thanks in advance🙏🏼☀️

Breakfast Burritos should be available all day, only Chorizo stops being served by 11am.

    Are dogs allowed?

They are allowed in the outdoor seating area.

Help me decide, fellow Yelpers - for my first time, should I go for a breakfast burrito with pastrami or pastrami chili cheese fries? Are the burritos still served all day…

Get the breakfast burrito HALF BACON/ HALF SAUSAGE and pastrami fries on side!! The burritos are served allday, the signs just old like the owner lol!! Get an orange bang or horchata while you're at it!!!

Does anyone OG from Pasadena know if this is the same Lucky Boy from the late eighties/early nineties that made bomb ground beef tacos? I'm headed down south next week and I need to know if I should detour!

yes it is original lucky boys

Are breakfast burritos all day? my life depends on this answer just FYI

Yes, all day! And it's not cash only. They accept card. I paid with card today. Chip and all.

Can you get the breakfast burrito without meat or are they pre-made?

Made to order. If u want no meat ask for no meat.

I was very impressed with the overall customer service. Now it makes sense why they have been in business for 100 years. The true test was trying out some basic dishes to see how good the food is. Pancake, 1/2 order of French toast, and of course a half an order of biscuits and gravy topped with scrambled eggs. The pancake was soft and fluffy. It was so good I really wanted to fold it up to eat as a taco, but I didn't want to be judged. It was so good that it left me wanting to risk all my manners. The French toast was excellent. Each bite was consistently delicious, well made and great flavor. The half order of biscuits and gravy paired with scrambled eggs is excellent. The biscuits were delicious, the gravy had a great rosemary taste, and the gravy is a bit on the thinner side. Personally it wasn't a deal breaker for me. It was still delicious. What would have made my simple meal perfect was coffee with creamer. They only serve half and half. Not a deal breaker but I prefer creamer giving it a true diner feel to it. Still giving 5 stars because the service and food was perfect. Thank you again! Definitely will be back!

So we were able to kill time until then! Located next to Honey & Lavender, parking lot available in the back, not that small! It actually didn't take too long for our order to arrive, which we were surprised they are very quick and efficient with service! Although, the food was very underwhelming. California Benedict was pretty basic, or just the bare minimum actually. It was okay, ingredients don't really stand out. My bf's country fried steak, he was disappointed that the steak didn't even look fried. He wasn't really a fan of his order lol. I thought the potatoes were pretty decent, although I wish they were cut smaller into like breakfast potatoes. They were so chunky, but also wish they could be fried more. Overall, I feel like we chose the wrong items from this place lol, but these were the items highlighted on the Yelp page? Maybe it didn't help that we were seated next to the kitchen or a cart full of dirty dishes bc I just kept smelling that as we were eating.

When I asked why, she then explained that oat milk was a $1 up charge and she didn't charge me on the large order for oatmilk. I don't mind paying the extra dollar, but I feel customers should be informed about an additional charge before being charged for it. Also, if getting a large was actually the better deal, I would have appreciated being told that. And then there were the little sprinkles of chili powder! I didn't notice them at first, but that subtle kick was such a fun surprise and added another layer of flavor. 10/10 for me! And I have to mention the blueberry scone. It was SO good that I ate it before my main meal! That should tell you everything you need to know. Overall, this is such a super cute establishment with delicious, thoughtfully prepared food. I'll definitely be back to try

Trying this French spot for brunch in Pasadena for the first time, and everything was SO good!…read more We tried the breakfast croissant, Croque Monsieur, home fries, and the absolute star of the day: their crème brûlée French toast! And of course, the cappuccinos were the perfect addition. I also loved the super retro décor throughout the restaurant--and even the bathroom has that fun vintage vibe! Such a cute spot with delicious food and a great atmosphere. Definitely a brunch experience worth trying! and last but not least we took home some pastries to try it later

The Reyn is a popular breakfast spot in Pasadena and a place I still visit from time to time,…read moreusually when meeting friends or colleagues. Despite its popularity, I find the food to be fairly average. Much of it tastes like it's made from standard commercial food-service ingredients rather than prepared fresh. On the positive side, the prices are reasonable, the dining room has a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff is generally attentive. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood breakfast restaurant - nothing particularly memorable, but nothing especially disappointing either. The Reyn Special - 3/5. A classic breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and banana bread. The eggs and bacon are fairly average, although the bacon tends to be overcooked and dry. The standout is the hash browns. They're cooked with a nicely browned, crispy crust while still remaining fairly moist inside. The real highlight, however, is the banana bread. It tastes homemade and is easily the best item on the plate. Crepes - 1/5. This dish comes as two separate plates: one with the ricotta-filled crepes and another with eggs, sausage, bacon, and your choice of fries or tater tots. Unfortunately, the crepes are the weakest part of the meal. The ricotta-filled crepes don't taste freshly made and instead resemble a pre-made food-service product that's simply reheated before serving. Both the crepe and ricotta filling have a generic flavor with noticeable artificial notes. You can choose either banana or strawberry topping, but both sauces taste overly processed and artificial. The accompanying breakfast plate is noticeably better. I chose the tater tots, which were well prepared - crispy on the outside while remaining soft inside. The bacon, however, was again overcooked and dry, making it tough to chew. The sausage was acceptable but unremarkable. Scrambled Supreme - 2.5/5. Despite the name, this is essentially an omelet. The eggs have a mild, neutral flavor, and the fillings are okay but don't stand out. Coffee - 2/5. The coffee is classic diner coffee in every sense. It's somewhat watery, heavily roasted, and finishes with a flat, slightly bitter aftertaste. It's neither particularly good nor particularly bad - just standard coffee that does the job. Overall, The Reyn succeeds as a comfortable, affordable breakfast spot with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. While the food is average, and several dishes rely on ingredients that taste commercially prepared rather than freshly made.

Pretty good food and a unique menu. We came for DineLA. The best, hands down, was the bone kettle…read morenoodles and broth. It was so warm, comforting, and rich in flavor. The garlic prawns were also pretty good. I was really disappointed with the panna cotta because it was salty. It reminded me of salted caramel, so if that was the intention, then great, but I'm not of fan of that flavor so I was surprised this dessert wasn't sweet. Staff was so helpful and kind. Restrooms are below - must use stairs (not sure if there were elevators). Parking was super chaotic because of the concert at the Rose Bowl (like blockssss were closed/full in terms of parking). Luckily there was valet near-ish that was $20.
