This review is for their Too Good To Go promo. I paid $6 for $18 worth of donuts and it was a steal. Best bang for your buck program where they offer discounted price for food that will otherwise go to waste. Mike, the owner/worker that day was very nice and accommodating. He gave me a dozen assorted donuts. This little hole in the wall place is a hidden gem in the South Sacramento area. Go check it out!

Always looking into small mom and pop shops. This place is located in South Sacramento. I've passed this shop several times and is pretty close to me compared to other donut shops. I decided to finally try this place out in the early morning after the gym. When we came in, we were the only customers at 6:30 am. There were a variety of delicious donuts. I think the prices here are pretty average. There were no places for us to sit if we decided to stay in to eat our donuts. I decided to get an old fashion and a maple bacon donut. They are both pretty fluffy and flavorful. Just know there is also a charge if you use card so I suggest to bring cash. The owner is super friendly and nice. Definitely will come back here to try the custard filled donuts and croissants

This is all I got while tolerating horrible service and went to another shop.

Sara not satisfied with the service. If you are a rare visitor at a donut shop, don't come to this place because there's no name tag for any of the donuts and the owner guy gets impatient if you asking any questions. After my 2nd question, I had no wish getting any more. I was thinking about getting coffee but wasn't even offered it, was provided the check right away. I won't be back to this plac

This is a family owned business which provides excellent customer service. I like going to small mom and pop shops when I can to show support to them and the community. They have a good variety of donuts to choose from that are made fresh. Check them out when you can!!

Don't judge a book by its cover, outside looks suspicious. I went in a little late close to 12pm on a Monday but I still had some stuff and donuts and coffee. Gave me the option of creamers hazelnut, French vanilla or half-and-half. The donut was a little bit more bread style for my liking but it was really good flavor. Mind you I had 1 donut I will be back to try more. I've heard all the Kaiser workers are always ordering from there. No sitting inside because of Covid-19. They do sale other drinks bottled/caned. Support your local businesses!!!

My eye was first drawn to the churro, I haven't been able to have one in years, I was so excited. It was everything I ever wanted in a churro. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, and coated with cinnamon sugar. I could have polished off a dozen of them! The apple fritter was also on my must try list. I grew up loving apple fritters and since having to go GF, it is my most missed donut-adjacent treat. This one was smaller than a normal one, but that was fine because I could actually enjoy it without it being too big. Perfectly fluffy with apple pieces and spiced just right, it was delicious. The cruellers were nice and crispy on the outside and just sweet enough. Glazed with chocolate or regular icing, they are a perfect donut. I have recommended this spot to others that are GF, they need to experience the joy of a prefect GF donut!

Both tasted very good but slightly different without dairy. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the flavor and textures. My friend ended up with the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie which was also great. I love a crunch or different texture mixed in. She did mention that the Rocky Road tasted a bit off because of the lack of dairy and the texture was a bit unusual. The staff were polite and patient and the place didn't seem that crowded for a Thursday around dinner time. I suppose with Ginger Elizabeth's and Rick's Dessert Diner all on the same strip, there is a lot of competition for dessert places here. We were happy to try something new. Everything was fairly clean and there was plenty of bar seating as well as a few tables. I believe there were also tables outside.

Their senorita bread is probably my favorite item at this bakery-my daughter introduced them to me one day and I've been hooked ever since-they r very enjoyable especially when eaten warm. They also feature a plethora of visually pleasing donuts-that I generally consider pretty good overall, with some much better than others-my favorite tend to be the cereal based donuts they have at this bakery. Their savory selection of bakery items,I generally skip but not due to them being any less yummy but usually only because when I visit here,I almost always go for the sweet stuff primarily-that being said their Jalapeño & Cheese "kolache" is off the hook-it's so good-the ham and cheese and pepperoni and cheese versions rock as well.We can't forget about their empanadas or lumpia-it's really great stuff they are serving at this bakery. This particular trip was unique in that I had been recommended this app called "TooGoodToGo" by fellow Yelp Elite All-Star Malikah H. & on this app I saw they were offering "surprise bags" for $5.99 to be picked up between 630p-7p-so I figured I'd try it out. When I arrived and showed the worker my order, she promptly walked to the back and then handed me a bag that was filled with unknown goodies.I opened the bag and inside were a random 6 of their best donut offerings-I was pretty thrilled considering these donuts usually run from $3-$4 each-so to get 6 of them for $5.99 felt like a solid deal. What I really liked about this "surprise bags" was it gave me the opportunity to try out flavors in their bakery I never would've tried on my own at a deeply discounted price-I loved the opportunity to do this and look forward to trying it again sometime. In closing-this bakery is pretty great and the surprise bag gives me another reason to love this bakery-not that I needed another reason-I consider myself a Bad Bakers loyalist and nothing has changed that for me-go ahead and try em out-they rock. PS-They do have a rewards program-so be sure to sign up for this when you go to Bad Bakers.

I ordered the taro latte with pudding, mango coconut pudding, spicy crab, and tator tots. Taro latte was 70% sweetness and was still kinda sweet. That was on me though. I typically order 50% sweet but this was my first time here so I only went slightly less sweet than the base. The mango coconut pudding was really good but also slightly sweet for me. The spicy crab rice ball was delicious. It was hot when it came out and didn't have too much mayo. The tater tots were super hot and crunchy. Not too salty either. Definitely coming back to this location!

We especially excited to try the instant ramen maker. We walked in and ordered in the kiosk. The menu had different teas, mochi donuts, dumplings, corndogs, and other snacks. However, after ordering we noticed the ramen wasn't on there. We asked the staff and they said the ramen maker wasn't working so that was disappointing. They were also out of something I ordered and they were able to refund me. The drinks and food took a bit to come out. The wonton and dumplings were ok, but the soup it came in was pretty good. The taro drink and mochi dog we got were good. Inside was very picturesque with a good amount of seating. The ramen wall was impressive and had a good selection. It served more for a decoration that day than for eating. But we loved the cute tree and floral wall. They also had some games for you to play with while waiting. Overall everything was ok but maybe we'll be back to give it another try.

For each 4 donuts, you can choose a different topping. We came here on a sunny Saturday afternoon and ordered six mini donuts with chocolate drizzle and a Gunther's 50-50 freeze with ice cream. The donuts were fried and tasted delicious, especially with the added chocolate drizzle. For the 50-50 freeze with ice cream, we chose guava freeze, chocolate ice cream, and strawberry freeze. All of the flavors were so delicious! Perfect for a nice warm afternoon. The female worker that took our order was very friendly and gave good recommendations. The donuts came out extremely fast! I hadn't even finished ordering the ice cream and the donuts were already on the counter ready for me. The workers were also trying to catch a flying bee, and they ended up catching it. The 6 donuts were $5 and the large 50/50 freeze with ice cream was $8. They do charge a 3% fee if you use your credit card. Overall, great first experience at Mad Hatter Doughnuts.
