So bad. My boyfriend and I eat a lot of Chinese and we tried this place because the reviews sounded pretty decent. It's really bad. Just don't go. For fairness sake, we went at 2:00 on a Tuesday and only ordered the buffet so I don't know what their regular menu is like. However, the buffet at this time was extremely sparse, and dry as if it had been out all day not just since the lunch rush (like congealed or no sauce and hard rice). The redeeming quality of this place was the woman working at the time, potentially an owner? She was fantastic, very friendly and fried us up to eggrolls and two wontons. Even trying those fresh did not help the food rating. The egg rolls are bad and the wontons are mediocre. The woman was great and the price was decent for one plate of pretty bad food. read more

The place itself looks very 'high society,' but the prices in the menu are shocking. Everything they serve is reasonably prices and generous in quantity (at least the Chicken Cashew was.) The food was great, not excellent. The chicken was a bit undercooked and under salted but the overall taste was great. Apparently I arrived at a time when they're supposed to be closed but they had special guests and a party so they were opened. However the waiter made sure I know directly that if I come again at a time like this, I 'shouldn't expect to be served.' Their Vietnamese cuisine dishes, ca kho to and crispy fried tofu is one of the best I've ever tasted and keeps me coming back for more. On the weekdays they serve buffet and off the menu dishes as it is nearby the U of M, West Bank if you wanted to grab something to go or dine in. On the weekends, I've been here for a number of wedding reception/party events and their quality of food has not disappoint me. Rarely do I leave here from the event feeling hungry and not satisfied. Quite frankly, I actually look forward to going to the event a little more since I know the food will be good. Definitely come check it out if you are craving some authentic Vietnamese cuisines and happen to be in the neighborhood. read more

We had a delicious dinner from Lucky Dragon on Monday. Really delicious, flavorful Food. I love this place because they out TONS of veggies and spice into each dish. Their delivery comes just as good as eating in the restaurant, which is a rarity these days! I had Hu Tie u Xao Thit Bo. The crab Rangoon was very cream cheesy- which was fine with me. So, pot stickers here are not just your average pot stickers. Crispy but not oily, on a bed of lettuce with an orange glaze and sprinkled with cilantro. Not only worth the trip just for these, but i would recommend Lucky Dragon for the pot stickers alone. They also have very good Pho and an extensive Chinese and Vietnamese menu. read more

Our household is crazy about Chinese food. We like to think we know a thing or two about quality chinese and we love that Lucky Dragon tastes fresh, not over salted, clean and large portion sizes. The wontons could use a tad more cream cheese however, but still tasty! We have only ordered online through Doordash and have always had our order show up hot and correct. We love the Chicken chow fun, Vietnamese egg rolls, broccoli stir fry, hot garlic chicken, szechwan spicy style chicken, chicken combination, and four seasons from the chef selection. It was funny the first 2 or 3 times I went in here for the lunch buffet with a group of starving friends. The $6.50 price tag allows unlimited access to nearly 20 fried and/or mysterious-looking entrees and appetizers, plus the mediocre desserts and standard soft-serve ice cream. None of it is really outstanding and some of it is disgusting, but I guess there's something for everyone. I can't recommend repeat visits though, because it's quickly gotten to the point where either someone eats too much and goes into a food coma or someone (usually me) is swearing off chinese food. This place is strictly for the low-budget undiscriminating diner. I don't know how the food on the regular menu is, but I can't imagine it being any different. "Meh. I've experienced better." From the outside Lucky Dragon doesn't look or sound like it will be very good. However, after putting away my biases, and giving it a try, I was very impressed. I've ordered only from the "Vietnamese Homeland Flavors" part of the menu, and have not tried the lunch buffet. Service has been excellent, and the prices are good. Portions are large, and the quality of the dishes I've tried has been high. The decor/atmosphere is average. My favorite dish so far is Ca Kho; delicious spicy fish fillets with rich thick sauce in a clay pot. Great for the colder weather. read more

First, the fried tofu and the ginger, onion, garlic tofu was incredible. Then, about half way through, I got violently ill in the restaurant. The server insisted that I must have gotten a flaked chili pepper but I know my way around chili. She insisted that my food was vegetarian. On my way to and from the bathroom, I realized how dirty the place is and I am concerned. I was able to eat someplace else later which indicates that I didn't have a bug. I didn't think their buffet was too bad. I went here with my aunt and uncle for lunch while my cousin was having her knee surgery. It was pretty dead when we were in there, but we were there at about 1:30 so it was a bit of a late lunch. I wasn't too impressed with their fruit selection (watermelon and pineapple that weren't ripe). Their Chinese/Vietnamese food was okay, but nothing spectacular. The food isn't as salty as most other Asian buffet places. Their oyster wings and eggrolls were pretty good. They also had some sort of batter-fried salmon that I enjoyed. My water was refilled at least 3 times and the dirty plates were removed almost immediately so the service gets 5 stars. We came here at the suggestion of Kale, one if the owners of The Herbivorous Butcher. He raved about the service and the Vegan Options so we decided to give a try. After work. On a day that we just so happened to get a complete DOWNPOUR outside. And we decided to use public transportation. The trek there was a little rough, but we made it. We tried the Fried Tofu, General Tso's Chicken, and my wife had the Veggie Chow Fun. Very delicious. We enjoyed it quite a bit. Service was very friendly. The moment we mentioned Kale, she lit up. He's definitely a valued customer. Fried Tofu was just amazing, though I think using extra firm tofu would go a long way. The inside texture was off a bit. General Tso's Chicken had the perfect amount of spice, and was crispy, so awesome. My wife enjoyed the Chown Fun for the most part, though something about it just threw her off a bit. She couldn't quite pinpoint what it was. Overall, this is definitely a great place to eat. Service is great and food tastes good as well. The Vegan options aren't out of this world, but there's definitely enough to give you plenty of variety even after a few trips. I hope you all find the time to give this place a try, you don't regret it. But what do I know? I'm just a Yelp Elite. read more

Considering this place is definitely on the low end of the price range for restaurants, I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed the food my first time there. I eat here quite often now during the buffet times since I go to the U for school. Pretty decent selection for $7. My favorites are the chicken wings, broccoli and mushroom stir fry, the green beans, and the tofu noodle thing. I recently decided to come in during dinner hours with some friends. Great decision! The price is more or less the same (you can get enough food to satisfy you for under $9/person for sure). Things we tried and liked: the spicy imperial chicken noodle salad, egg rolls, oyster wings. spicy wings, and the garlic chicken stir fry. There are a few other dishes that look good, but I haven't tried them. Service is family restaurant standard -- nothing stellar, but nothing awful. If you have the time to get to know the owners, they're pretty nice and it's clear they care a lot about this place. The other reason this place doesn't get a 5 star review is presentation. The decor has that tacky asian restaurant look (complete with those huge random framed pictures) and the food sometimes looks a little funky or carelessly put together. I love this place. When I do takeout, I usually get beef & potatoes, chicken fried rice and egg rolls. I've never been disappointed. My wife loves the sesame chicken and the kids like the wings. This place is right across the street from where I work. The taste is NOT GOOD. Several of their dishes are pretty bad (their noodles were horrible, their soup was okay, their fried rice was also not good). The dishes are completely Americanized and the menu is pretty boring for the price they charge for their lunch buffet. The buffet is not refilled well so you have to keep waiting for them to bring the dishes. They keep running out of particular items such as fried shrimp or the fish. For most people, the 4 star review is fair to use, for vegetarians, use the 2 star review. My reason was when I ordered the tofu and veggies with curry, it arrived and it did taste very good. The problem was that at the very end, I noticed a clump of gelatin. The reason its a huge issue is because this dish was labeled as vegetarian on bite squad. If you like broccoli, you will love this place. Most dishes are hit and miss and it depends who is cooking. The woman who occasionally cooks(possibly the owner) is a very good cook. I wandered in here after I tried to go to Keefer Court only to discover it is closed on Tuesdays (why Tuesday? Random.) It was exactly what it looks like - your average Chinese buffet. Not fantastic, not terrible, a completely serviceable lunch buffet for a decent price. All the usual suspects here - the rice, the soups, the usual array of meat and veggie dishes, and the totally random dessert bar. Water glass stayed full, staff was pleasant. Decided to try this place after initially passing it up earlier in the semester for sober fish. It is somewhat cheap and that is really all it has to offer. I ordered pad thai and egg foo young. The pad thai was very bland, did not look like any other great pad thai dishes I have ever had in the twin cities, and just generally very disappointing. The egg foo young was okay, kind of tasteless, not impressed. Will most likely not go here for food again especially since there are much better options in the twin cities. read more
