Man, I think this place has the best God dang cup o' coffee I've ever had. During this quarantine I have not had much to look forward to, but the Ethiopian here makes me so much happier. My entire stimulus check is going straight in their register. The Columbian is good too, but I love the (and this is my opinion of flavor notes) raspberry and dark chocolate notes every time it hits my mouth. Go for the pour over. Keep cream out of it. WOW! I was presently suprised with this place! Let me start by saying I came to the area for Rad Coffee (in which i've had before) but the line was ridiculously wrong so I stopped on over here for my coffee fix & Im so glad I did! The indoor/outdoor aspect of this shop is adorable and so clean. The coffee was great and all of our lattes tasted amazing and the espresso was perfectly pressed and poured & had just the right strength. I ordered the "April Kisses" which is a limited drink, but it features Strawberry, Mocha, and Coconut Milk and it was SO GOOD... everything complimented each other very well. Lucky's is a great little coffee in downtown Upland. As you walk in you're welcomed by an open, creative, coffee feel very reminicent of downtown Pasadena and several other shops that I've frequented in parts of NorCal. Over all, it's exactly the environment that a coffee shop should be, with a community table, loads of power outlets, educated baristas, and good music. Regarding the actual product. I had the Nicaraguan coffee done on the drip, it was significantly brighter than anything I would normally try but I'm glad I had the opportunity to try it. The coffee is sweet and takes on some hints of lime as it cools. I also has the opportunity to try out the Sumatra as an espresso, it's extremely unique but in a good way. The Sumatra is roasted lighter than you'd expect and comes out with a taste profile that I've never had before, with juicy green apple that's not offensively tart. Both drip and espressos were fun on the palate, looking forward to trying something a bit darker next time around. read more

I came here for the very first time and the coffee was pretty good. I ordered an iced dirty chai latte with oat milk. It was more on the bitter side (which I prefer my coffee that way). The ambiance of this place was neat and modern which I loved. The staff were all so very sweet and recommended something from the menu since it was my first time. Last week I went with my family to Seattle for a couple of days. During that time I went to four different coffee shops recommended by locals (Storyville, Espresso Vivace, Cafe Vita, and Retreat Coffee) and tried their Iced Americano, which is my drink of choice. I thought for sure my own local coffee shop would fail in comparison to those in Seattle. However, though those spots were good they couldn't hold a candle to Lucky's. After each place, I just kept thinking I wish I could be home and have my Lucky's Americano. I am not sure what they do or how they roast, but Lucky's is by far superior in flavor and richness to many top-notch places I've tried in LA and Seattle. If your from Upland or a surrounding city, you should be proud to have this local coffee shop and give them your full support! read more

Let me start off with the good things. The staff, great. The ambience, great. Free WiFi, ample tables and power outlets, great. Unfortunately, the coffee was okay at best. I had the El Salvador pourover and a cold brew. The pourover was the more underwhelming of the two. You'd expect coffee from El Salvador to be sweet and citrus-y, but theirs was watery and vaguely acidic. The cold brew was better, made in-house with Ethiopian beans. It was a bit too diluted for my taste. In the end, 3 out of 5, because the most important part of the coffee shop is the coffee. That said, it's a welcoming place to work, and if you're not as much of a coffee snob as I am, you might really enjoy the place. read more

Absolutely horrible service the last few times I have stopped here. The employees are talking to each other and not making coffee. Amazing coffee shop! Sweetest baristas that don't get super annoyed when you ask basic questions about the coffee or products. They are helpful and know their stuff well. Lol and dog friendly! Walked right in with my two pups and they even offered water for them. (Not service dogs, just fur babies) Coffee was amazing, had a rich and bold flavor. Supporting this new coffee business! What a cool, chill place! The coffee is good and some of the options are really unique and creative without being over the top! Currently drinking an espresso mule (summer menu) and it's amazing! I really like the vibe and simplicity of the place! Not many coffee shops in Upland so this place helps meet that need. The wall decor is also nice, and plenty of outlets on each table. It's a small space but it has a lot of character, and small spaces make for a tight knit community! And the staff so far seems very knowledgeable about coffee and are very friendly! They do pour-overs so that's already a win! Additionally, I truly appreciate the fact that they are dog friendly! I plan to bring my dog here often as a go to place to get some work done with my buddy! Talked with some of the managers/owners and they seem as excited about me bringing my dog as I am! The interior has a modern feel with warm touches that make the space quite welcoming. The staff is very friendly and able to answer any questions you may have. Love this place in the heart of dwn twn upland. Love the vibe. Young gentleman helped me choose a drink base off of what I wanted something lavender, and the bfll oat was a great choice.
