This is one of my fave places in this Korean plaza! I always find service to be so friendly and kind. They are a small team but do their best to chat with you and make recommendations. We typically get a 1-meat combo which is more than enough for our 2-3 person family. The portions are huge and the banchan is refilled so unless you're craving tons of different meats, no need to order a ton more. I also love their tofu soup, it's not too oily and also keeps well if you have leftovers. The interior is clean and well kept so you'll be comfy with a group anywhere from 2-6 people. Larger groups might be harder to accomodate but I've never had to reserve for under 6. read more

The foods were good but I do not like the services here at all. There are 4 Korean restaurants in the same plaza which kinda weird because they all serves almost the same atmosphere. We came here around 5:30PM so we did not wait for a table of 5 at all. We wanted to order the package B which comes with 3 protein of choice with add on ramen and cold noodles but they refused to let us order package B but insisted us to order package C which comes with 4 protein of choices. I and my niece don't eat meat so package B was good for us. There are 5 of us but 2 of us don't eat meat, we basically eat the banchan with the sauces. I do not like how they handle the situation at all! I clearly told them I don't eat meat so package B was good for us and they refused. We can not finished with 4 protein for package C which had a lot of left over afterward. The galbi was $9 add on more which the portion are small and over cooked! The grilled chicken was okay, the pork belly and the beef brisket overly thin slices below average quality. The best part of this was the banchan they were given, the potatoes salad was delicious. The hot sauce was very good. I just add all the banchan with white rice and hot sauce to make the best Bibimbap ever. The cold noodles were excellent just like how it tasted in Korea. When my daughter gets up to pay for the bill, they expected us to tip them 18% instead of 15% because there are were party 5 of us. Great value! We ordered the Combo "A" and it was so much food. Portions were generous. Some people cooked the meat themselves. The restaurants grilled ours for us since we had little kids with us. This is one of the very few restaurants that serve the rice rolls as part of the wrapper. It was so good. Additionally, the seafood pancake was amazing as well. The edges were super crispy. I've been meaning to try this place out for years and finally had the opportunity recently. ToBang exceeded my expectations and is one of the best family-owned spots that I've been to in awhile! We ordered the Special A set and chose galbi (+$9) and brisket as our meats. The staff assisted us with cooking the brisket and the galbi came prepared on a sizzling plate. All combos come with unlimited sides and the servers made sure all of our side dishes were stocked at all times. I love how the set also comes with a choice of white rice or korean fried rice plus cheese corn. For an additional $10, we added bibim naengmyeon to our order which was super refreshing. You can also add a soup to your meal for $9. Although this set included two choices of meats, it was more than enough for my party of 2. All this came out to be under $100 which is so affordable considering the quality of the meats! The side dishes and appetizers were superb as well. Good amount of customers for a weekday dinner. I've been coming here ever since I was in high school and I cannot believe I have never left a review for this place! It is not all you can eat but they give you so much that I have never left unsatisfied. The Korean aunties help you cook, refill your banchan as many times as your heart desires and are so quick! I came here with my partner to celebrate a birthday dinner, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The reviews are very high, which honestly feels a bit misleading based on what we experienced. We ordered the 4-meat special for $126 and chose pork cheek, bulgogi, brisket, and galbi (which was an extra $9), bringing our total to $135 before tax. For that price, the portions were surprisingly small, especially the pork cheek and brisket.and the quality wasn't anything extraordinary. The bulgogi and galbi were good, but not enough to justify the overall cost. The galbi was definitely the highlight of the meal. Service was also lacking. We had to ask multiple times for radish because the portions they brought out were very small. When we asked for sauce refills, instead of letting us refill it ourselves, the server did it but put the sauces in the wrong compartments and only briefly apologized. It just felt disorganize and like the stuff was rushing everything with only 3-4 other parties in the store. There were also a few misses with our order. We ordered one plain rice and one kimchi fried rice, but the kimfried rice was forgotten, and we had to follow up to get it. We were given a very small portion of cheese corn as well, which didn't feel proportional to the price, you can even see how small it is in the photo. Been coming to this place for years now, so this review is long overdue. I just went there with my spouse and a friend from out of town so this is my most up to date experience. Every time I come here I'm starving. I order a size down for the group I'm with (ie: if I'm with 3 ppl I order the set for 2) and we all leave stuffed with leftovers. Service is great, fast and attentive. Free bonchon refills make the meal more worthwhile. Cups and utensils are all metal, chopsticks are disposable. Meat is good quality and quantity for the price The sets include fewer items than they did back in the day but it's all good; I am still full when I leave. They have renovated the place with better fume hoods and they've expanded so I feel like the improvements in ambience compensate for the changes. so we enjoy our food and we are total in 9 with 2 child. We spent a decent amount of bill exluding the 18% tip which i dont have issue. ToBang is a gem I had no expectations for. Picked this place on a whim for lunch and was disappointed to find that it wasn't AYCE. My surprise when it was better than I thought. Banchan here was out of this world! Everything was a slap of umami, from potatoes, radish, fish cakes, japchae, and seaweed. Table set up was magical and I can't talk enough about how good the banchan was. The sets we ordered also came with seafood pancakes and those hit the spot too! When the meat came we got straight to business. You get a few choices but I recommend getting the bulgogi. It comes to you already cooked so you don't have to deal with the wait while the meat cooks which we all know of all too well. Bulgogi was also amazing on a bed of onions on a hot plate. At the end, the also gave us some yakults for our gut health! I couldn't ask for a better lunch. The servers were also the kindest, I felt like family was serving me. When we arrived, our table was all set - place settings, sauces, cups, water. We ordered 2 of the Special-C. I like coming here for their special menu sets. We normally come on a weekend night and they take our order at the entrance after we tell them how many people. You need to be ready with your order. If not, I recommend you read the menu outside the window before going in. They do always try to upsell you though. It is a rushed experience though. You may be sitting right next to another party but they have plexiglass divider. We normally get Special B with 3 meats (bulgogi, spicy pork and brisket) but every time we get pressured to get Special C with 4 meats but we decline. The special comes with seafood pancake, assorted banchan including lettuce, daikon and rice paper for wraps. They will refill these banchan. Usually there's corn cheese and sometimes tteokbokki included. You get a choice of Kimchi fried rice or steamed rice. We usually get the kimchi fried rice and add on a steamed rice for extra. We also add on a mixed tofu stew for $8. The brisket is cooked at the table while the bulgogi and spicy pork come cooked on a hot sizzling plate. One of the best spots for NON-AYCE KBBQ! If you're looking for KBBQ but don't want to feel overly stuffed from AYCE, then ToBang is the place. The menu has 4 different sets (A, B, C, D) to choose from which comes with a select number of meats, choice of seafood pancake, kimchi fried rice, etc, and you can add on an extra $9 if you want additional dishes. For a group of 5, our server recommended Special C which came with 4 meats. The meats were all tender and delicious. Seafood pancake was a little bit smaller than I had anticipated. We also got a side of steamed egg too. This was enough food for us because the staff kept serving us banchan throughout our meal to the point where we were politely declining the extra dishes. They were about half busy with about total 8 long tables that are split into 2 sides to maximize number of parties. From the get go the old ladies are pushy at selling the combo set and all the add ons. This was a big turn off, kind of like old sleazy car salesman selling you a new ride. I did like that they kept coming back asking if wanted more banchan. As far as the meat, it is very average quality. I recently went back to ToBang after more than a decade from my last visit and it was a great reminder of why many businesses in this strip mall are successful and still in business. This is set meal KBBQ, not AYCE, which gives it a more traditional, curated feel. We ordered the Special B with brisket, pork jowl, and kalbi. The menu lists the portions at about 11-12 oz, though it felt a little lighter once everything was grilled. The meat quality was solid and the brisket was tender. The pork jowl had a crispy texture and took the longest to cook. The kalbi was cooked on an iron sizzling plate in the kitchen. The set also came with seafood pancake, rice, banchan, radish wraps, and lettuce wraps. We added the seafood soft tofu soup, which came out hot and bubbling. Service really stood out by the owner lady serving our table, literally the GOAT and was hustling nonstop checking in with all the tables, offering refills on all the banchan and even offering more refills when some servers mentioned there was only one refill. The whole team was attentive and constantly moving. The food is also cooked for you by the servers, but they can be very busy at times. Funny moment when they checked our IDs when we ordered drinks. The server gave us a smile when they realized we were "old" and took it as a compliment. There are gas grill tables with proper ventilation hoods, but we were seated at a table with a portable butane stove this time. Although I didn't remember the gas grills from my visit over a decade ago, so maybe that's an update over the years. I would request one of the gas grill tables next time for the full experience. They also had beer and soju specials, probably competing with the other Korean spots in the same strip mall, which makes it a good place to hang out. One disappointment was the kalbijjim was sold out by 8pm, so we didn't get to try it and got regular kalbi. Guess that just means we'll have to come back next time. Overall solid quality meats, generous banchan service, strong owner presence that cares about the customers, and a classic KBBQ experience. Not AYCE, slightly lighter portions for a normal family style dinner meal, but still a spot worth returning to. Cleanliness feels like a hole-in-the-wall with the sticky menus and tables with the stains on walls. This was by far the best quality of meats for the price point I have tried. And there was a spectacular assortment of sides. The staff were super attentive and constantly refilled our sides. This is definitely more on the pricey end but you are paying for the great quality. Parking was difficult and we ended up parking across the street. We made reservation for 3 on a Saturday night and they were very accommodating when we called to let them know that we will be a little late. Once we were there, we ordered our food before being seated. They strongly suggest getting the combos and have the cooked meat as it would be faster. We were hungry so agreed to it. We got the ($92.99) 3 meat combo with Bulgogi, Kalbi and spicy Dwaeji galbi jjim ($9 extra) and steam egg for $4. We were seated shortly after we ordered and all the banchan was already on the table. I really like the potatoes and fish cake. The pickled radish was too sour for me. Kalbi - Good flavor and the meat was tender. It came on a hot plate but the plate was barely warm and the onions were not even cooked. Bulgogi - Again it came on a lukewarm hot plate with mostly raw onions and the meat was overcooked and dry. We asked the staff about it but she only apologized about it. Dwaeji galbi jjim - This dish came nice and hot. It has good flavor but the pork ribs were again, dry and overcooked. The seafood pancake was crispy and delicious but we only got 4 pieces when it said on the menu 6-7 pieces. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Hands down one of the better Korean BBQ experiences I've had! We got the Special-B menu with brisket, pork belly, and spicy BBQ pork ribs for our choice of 3 meats and it was filling for a group of 3 people. The brisket was top-tier - really high quality, tender, and flavorful with just the right amount of marbling. The pork belly was sliced perfectly thin, which allowed it to crisp up beautifully on the grill. It was so good, I completely forgot to take a picture before diving in! Me and my friend went there on a Friday evening, we ordered the bbq set with three meat option which also included a seafood pancake, we were barely half way through the meal and then we found this thing on one piece of the pancake which looked nothing but like a bug, we were clueless so we asked the waitress, she said oh this is seafood pancake, this might be bug from the seafood not from the restaurant, we dont have cockroach here, she then immediately took the piece away and then never came back! No apologies at all!! We sat there for couple of minutes and decided to go the the counter then it's the same 'waitress' she saw us she then pulled the charger immediately ($103, full price) and asked us to pay, we were shocked. we asked to talk to the manager and owner she said she's the one, she's the owner and also the chef, we questioned her about the bug and she insisted the food is not contaminated, it's from the 'seafood', not the restaurant's reponsibility; we stayed there, she rudely insisted us to pay, we asked shouldn't you apologize for this, and she insisted in a really really rude manner. Extremely disappointing experience. We found what appeared to be a large insect embedded in one of the pancakes. Food safety issues can happen anywhere, but what matters is how a restaurant responds. Unfortunately, there was no apology, explanation, or concern shown by the owner. She simply took the pancake away, insisted that we pay the full bill, and asked us to leave. The lack of accountability and basic customer service was more upsetting than the food issue itself. A sincere apology and an effort to make things right would have gone a long way. It's a very good deal here and everything was very tasty. The ambiance is more casual but you get a lot for what you pay for here. You order your choice of meats with a combo meal depending on how many people are in your group. You can even add on a soup or naeng myeon to your combo for a small amount.
