I've been here a couple times now so I feel like I can give it a fair review. It's not a full club, it's not a full sports bar, it's not a full restaurant and it's not a full bowling alley. So what is it? It's a hybrid. Something completely different. It has plenty of huge TVs, so if the game's on, you'll be sure to see it. It's got pool tables and a bar and some bar food (the greasy, fattening kind). So it could be a sports bar. It has lots of flashing lights, a dress code and a bouncer. The drinks and food are overpriced. Plus, it's in the middle of Hollywood. So it could be a club. It has bowling lanes and balls and shoes, so it could be a bowling alley. I'm not really sure what my point is, just sharing. 4 hours of free parking at the mall for $2 is a pretty good deal. read more

Bad customer service let me tell you!!!!! We constantly had to remind our waitress of the food we ordered she was not attentive at all. We payed for one hour of play and by the time we had 20 min left our food had barley arrived. Our game finished they moved us to the bar area to finish eating, which we didn't argue. But let me tell you when the waitress really had the audacity to say "IS THERE A REASON WHY YOU LEFT NO TIP" "WE LIVE OFF OF OUR TIPS" never in my life have I felt so disrespected. We were just about to hand her cash when she ASUMED we weren't going to give her anything for her POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE WHICH WE STILL GAVE HER $20. As a waitress this is the grimmest thing you could do and great job on loosing customers :) read more

I'm going to keep this one simple... We saw this place on Undercover Boss and immediately fell in love with the message the CEO of this place conveyed to his staff. We came to visit on Thanksgiving and were surprised to find them open. We sat down and immediately saw a guy rolling around on his wheelies with a hat on. It was none other than Devin Duncan the Bartender from the show! Short time celebrity but what we saw on TV is who this guy is. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left (actually closed out the place) he took care of us like we were family. The bowling was fun, drinks were great and we got one on one entertainment from Devin. The customer service here was very good and the atmosphere, while a slow night, was very fun. I recently went here for my birthday and really enjoyed it, but it was a tad on the expensive side for what it is. It's an upscale bowling alley that becomes 21+ after 7pm. They have a dress code, which seems kind of ridiculous, but they pretty much don't care unless you look like you rolled out of bed. I did the small party, which came with lane rental, shoe rental, an endless appetizer (spinach & artichoke dip) and unlimited draft beer and wine for 2 hours. There is an option to add two additional appetizers instead of having unlimited beer and wine. The price for having such an event is $39.99, but because there is 20% gratuity included and tax is 9% in Hollywood....it ended up being around $52/person... which is really expensive, but I guess it's worth it for the endless booze though. You also have to pay for parking...the first 2 hrs are free with validation!!! The bar was pretty accessible and near the lanes. It was easy for my friends that weren't bowling to socialize with those who were. The people I spoke with on the phone, such as the event manager, were all super nice and pretty responsive to my calls and e-mails. Staff was nice in general. Overall, I had a good experience. Bowling was fun, drinks were good. The only thing is it's a bit overpriced, but I guess you're paying for the ambiance. read more

It's apparent you aren't meant to bowl here. Did I mention terrible service? We paid extra for a "package" that included a bunch of food platters and AYCD non-alcoholic beverages. When we first arrived, we had no idea who would be serving us. I saw a woman that popped over but didn't really say anything to us until she noticed a few girls coming back from getting their drinks from the bar. She told us she would help us and that we could go ahead and just order our drinks from her. Great! Except she all but disappeared after the group next to us got fancy bottle service. We actually saw her sitting with the group several times. It took us a while to even get out of there when we were done. Busboys are surly and robotic...one guy took away a platter of tots still half full (all in the paper cone they serve it in)...didn't bother checking at all. Very random since our table was full of other plates. I tried to stop him but he ran away before I could get to him (couldn't hear my shouting over the music). Hang out here, by all means, but I recommend not forking over wads of cash for sub-par service. read more

This is the 2nd year in a row that we held our department team-building event in this establishment. The party organizers will try their best to work with your budget. They're actually affordable for group parties. The food is overall good, drink refills are constant and they always make sure that you have what you need. For 25 adults and 4 kids, we had 4 lanes for 2 hours with shoe rental, unlimited softdrinks and water refill, several pizzas, italian meatballs, french fries, chicken tenders, corndogs (these we really good!), and chips. Everyone was stuffed. All these for only $1600 including tax and gratuity. The reason for 1 less star? Some of their staff have attitude which I don't understand and they don't have enough 8-10 lb bowling balls. And it's a little scary trekking to the restrooms. Lucky strike was so much fun. They had cute holiday decorations and a wall with their logo backdrop to take pics. Price was reasonable. I would suggest making reservations for the weekend a couple days in advance if you want to go at night. We went mid day, around 4:00. It feels much safer to go to Hollywood area when it's day time, plus the parking lot is a bit of a walk to lucky strike and you need to walk through the crowds and people on the street. It is easier to get a reservation for the day time, safer, and less crowded in the bowling alley. Overall it was such a fun experience, great time with friends, staff was nice, music wasn't too loud, and we will be back. read more

Super fun place to bowl!!! I didn't get to snap any pictures but the lanes are a great size -- more kiddie sized lanes and easier to bowl. The seating area is great. The food service was really great too, and this is located right in the heart of Hollywood next to the ovation Hollywood center with a great view of the sign. The customer service when you walk in was good, but the people who were handing out shoe rentals felt like they did not want to be there and was not as warm as the people at the front desk. Not a huge deal to be made of -- but Would recommend coming here to hangout with friends or host a party if you're local to the Hollywood/LA area. It's also nice because it's right next to the Hollywood walk of fame / in a touristy area so you can walk around during the day if desired. Also, we parked on Hollywood boulevard and walked over -- there's free street parking by the apartments down the street before you hit the walk of fame if you're not wanting to pay for parking. read more

You can tell a lot about a place by the way the door guy greets you: In this case: "Excuse me ma'am, I'm going to need to inspect your clutch for weapons." Not the best first impression... But I digress. This is actually a great concept. Upscale bowling alley with billiards and other games paired well with great food (I swear) and current music. The problem is that the execution is just a shade off. The sound system has not been well-maintained and so you hear the speaker's snap-crackle-pop like the Rice Crispies mascots trying to support a remix of "California Love" played by a DJ who can't get a job anywhere else in Hollywood. The staff is nice, but not that well-trained. Despite the fact that it was not that busy at all, the bussers, servers and managers cannot seem to keep the place clean enough to be considered respectable. Even when they dropped off our food to the pool table, the runner left our plates off amidst a jungle of used plates and glasses that had been there for at least 25 minutes. Super amateur. To make matters worse, the server (very cute and nice) didn't notice it, much less do anything about it. We had a great time bowling, but the price listings are sort of deceptive and it turns out that it is without question the most expensive bowling alley you will ever go to. Couple that with the bridge & tunnel Hollywood clientele along with $10 parking... I think next time I'll pass, but we did have a fairly good time. Almost there.... read more

Came here for Kacey C.'s birthday in early January! My first time at an upscale bowling alley. I had not bowled in years and I would never have thought to have my bday at a bowling alley, but it's a super cute idea. Sometimes it's def nice to deviate from the usual club/bar scene. Ambiance is like that of a lounge, but with more space and obviously with the added bowling activity. I played a game (not my forte) and took advantage of the endless beer and appetizer that comes with the 2-hour event package. Good music. It is on the pricey side, so it's only something that I would attend for close friends. Convenient that there's a bar on the side as well. Give it a try! read more

Lighting is good, music was fun, screens in the back to watch movies (Purple Rain was on in honor of Prince) as you bowl. We bowled two games but had to leave to make dinner reservations. My friend and I attended a client appreciation event night this past week at Lucky Strike Hollywood. Complimentary food, drinks and bowling. The food was top notch, the drinks we're great and the service was impeccable. There was a DJ and everybody was having a great time! I recently hosted a corporate holiday event at Lucky Strike and things couldn't have gone any smoother from start to finish. I'm a super simple straight to the point, do not waste a second of my time or make one single thing take a moment longer than I feel it needs to, type A to the extreme person. It's very seldom I can work with a contact and a venue and them just get that right off the bat and work as quickly and efficiently as I do to accomplish what I want. What I'll say here, is Gyna will. We had a fabulous turn out and everything was great with our event, private space, bartenders, service, food, drinks, shoe rental, staff on deck during the event etc. I could not appreciate the smooth, quick, service of this venue anymore. My daughter celebrated her Sweet 16 at Lucky Strike last night. Her party was booked from 5p-7p. We ordered the Perfect Game Teen package which worked out perfectly! Robyn Spencer was my party planner from start to finish! Robyn even accommodated my last minute add ons the day before the event (balloons, cake & an ice cream sundae stand). It was loud, drinks were expensive, we left after 10, because even though a band periodically looked like they were going to play, not one song was played. Oh where to begin.. I've always been curious about going to Lucky Strike, so what better time than for my birthday, I thought. The woman who handled my account was nice, but somewhat disorganized. She ended up emailing me another person's event invoice along with mine.. Also, the venue is very strict on how many people are going. I had to sign a contract saying that 12 people were going. Ten of my party showed up so I had to forfeit some of the costs.. Also, she had told me that there was a $100 minimum purchase on food and beverage. Though appalled, I knew that it wouldn't take alot to reach the minimum since the prices are what you expect for Hollywood. However, a couple of days before the event, I had emailed and called her to make sure things are set. She had emailed me saying that she had waived the minimum food/bev purchase. That upset me since some of my friends who are going through some financial woes had made the decision not to go due to that expense that I had asked to pitch in (I was paying for the lanes and the shoes). The music was great, and not too loud so I could actually talk to my friends. The food and drinks were made well too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, a week later, they had charged me an extra $163.00. After talking the assistant manager, who was courteous, he explained that the credit cards might have gotten mixed up. He had credited my card right away. So in conclusion, the idea of high-class bowling is great, and is fun. What an incredible venue! We had such a fabulous evening watching live music on the Lucky Strike stage from The Lucky Lonely & Sharkitecture followed by a round of bowling and dancing. If you haven't heard of the Lucky Lonely or Sharkitecture I highly recommend checking them out. A few members from the Mowgli's are in Sharkitecture and the Lucky Lonely shreds on an electric ukelele. The Lucky Strike stage is top notch. There's room to dance, a full bar & a place to put your coats. I love the decor, it feels like you're at someone's home, actually the stage is modeled after a garage. It's just a really neat surprise set up that brings a lot to Lucky Strike. We immediately started to bowl after the show because it was a Sunday night and we had to get home in time for some good sleep for work. The DJ was on point playing all these throw back songs from '99. Tracks from Enema of the State to The Used it was surreal because I was with some high school friends. No doubt the music was good because we were dancing half the time and ended up staying out until 1:30am... It was all well worth it. I really enjoyed Lucky Strike and found it to be reasonable with prices for the bar and bowling and also very glamorous with the custom homey interior and all the chalk art. So disappointed... Came from out of Riverside County to visit with family. Decided we'd take the kids bowling. We called twice to see if there was an availability on Friday night. We were told that first come first serve basis. Nobody informed us that after 9PM no kids under 18 were allowed. Seriously? Not only were we not informed but was charged $20.00 for parking and was literally there for less than 10 minutes. Obviously, couldn't stay because we had my niece that is 15. Apparently, the valet parking in which you have to utilize on a Friday night; has policy to pay $20.00 after 10pm. We weren't notified of that either... SMDH read more

A nice upscale lounge and bowling alley. It's a good concept, executed almost perfectly but the drinks here are too expensive. I like the lounge couches and seats that were there, and I like the atmosphere. It's different than the other bowling alleys that I've been to. Lane and shoe rental total to about $11 per person on a Saturday night. It's where a lot of young people hang out, and many large groups were here. Top 40's music was playing in the background. An experience that's a little different than your normal bowling one, and a good place to celebrate birthdays as they can accommodate large groups. read more

I actually came to Lucky Strike more interested in the food than in bowling. I had heard that they had some pretty good diner food, and getting to bowl on top of that? Sweet. The food indeed was VERY good. Even if it were taken out of the context of "holy crap, I can get this kind of food at a bowling alley?!" it would still be great food. The burger I had was moist and flavorful. There was this great garlic spread on the buns that added something different and the bacon was thick and crispy. My boyfriend got their club sandwich and he said it was the best club he's ever had. And it came with freshly made chips. Very yummy. Check out the photos I posted. The food was as good as it looks in those photos. If I'm ever in the mood to bowl with a group of friends, I'd definitely come here. Overpriced!! $75 for one game of bowling!? The worst service ever??! Like seriously 3 waiters on a busy Friday night!!? We waited over 45 minutes for a waitress, after we asked 3 different waiters we caught walking around! 35 mins for our food to come out, only for it to come out cold!! I absolutely love this place! Fridays and Saturdays are so lit and such a vibe. The DJ really sets the tone but the drinks are great and the food is always on point. Wait times on the weekend can be a little long but reservations can be made in advance through the website so that helps. The GM Sean is absolutely amazing and it explains why the venue is so great. Now, I'm a terrible bowler - no form, no practice, no theory. However, that doesn't mean I don't enjoy my time at Lucky Strike. In fact, it's become a staple for me when I visit Los Angeles. Mondays are my jam, and I love bringing my colleagues out for an after work networking session. The atmosphere is chill enough where you can lounge around nibbling on cheese curds (the best, think mozzarella cheese balls), or casually sip beers and people watch. BUT if you *are* into bowling, the asian guy Phong/Fong (how it's spelled would determine his ethnicity I guess) will have everything you need. This guy remembers every conversation you've ever had, and knows when you were at Lucky Strike last. Also a pretty good wingman if you like networking and meeting new people. This dude is always smiling, so treat him well. You won't regret it. Usually while you're waiting for a lane to open up, you'll be hanging out at the bar. The bartenders are pretty quick (also quick-witted lol), and remember faces/drinks really well. Definitely had my fair share of laughs and interesting conversations while at the bar. Best drink: whiskey mules by Chelsea. Random fun moment: I celebrated my birthday here in a giraffe onesie. It was glorious. read more

We own 2 local businesses and were looking for a fun spot to have our annual Christmas party for our staff. We had contacted a different bowling alley that took forever to get back to us and had the most complicated ordering form. It was difficult to get a hold of anybody because they only communicated via email. I totally forgot about Lucky Strike! We contacted them and were able to make reservations and order our food so quickly! Everything was fast and easy. We arrived and were shown to our lanes. They have nice, chill, loungy couches with lots of space. The food was great and never ending! Our waiter was superb! Our employees had such an awesome time, some even stayed after we left to keep the fun going! It was also my husband's birthday and they were so helpful with accommodating our cake and everything! read more
