I have been looking for a new diner to call home since I left LA. I found it. This place is wonderful. From the warm and friendly staff to the delectable menu. Bonus, they have a full bar! The chicken and waffles are delicious. The breakfast enchiladas are on point. Even the basic breakfast is great. They spend the money for high quality ingredients and you can taste it. Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch or Dinner this is a great spot. Jimmy is an absolute sweetheart and Bobby behind the bay makes a strong whiskey sour (my drink of choice lately), good man. Judy the owner? Turkey bacon is inedible. It does not seem like a lot of care and attention goes into the breakfast.

Good home cook food...not as good as cracker barrel but very good and I cleaned my plate. Clientele is much nicer then on my side of the Dallas. Plus a bar! They have all day breakfast...looks good. have not been here in over a year so thought it was time to revisit. While the service was very friendly, it was also harried and A bit chaotic. The meatloaf was fine, though it did have kind of an odd color sauce on the top. Unfortunately the liver and onions was not very good. The meat was very sinewy, lukewarm, as were the mashed potatoes and okra. Overall quite disappointing. read more

The best cafe in Dallas! The staff is always friendly, and they always seem to know a lot of customers that come in. Their biscuits are amazing, just like everything else I've eaten here. I usually come for breakfast/brunch, but want to try lunch/dinner soon. They also have a decent mimosa carafe deal which is always a perk! The atmosphere is a combination of a traditional cafe with a lively bar... it has had a great crowd every time I have been (in a good way). It is also in a great location on Oak Lawn, but on the corner so you can walk through the neighborhood and/or park free on the street if you need to. Can't recommend enough! read more

Sunday brunchin' Atmosphere: this is your classic diner style restaurant. It gives you 1950's vibes with with a modern day twist. There are a lot of classic paintings, as well as a "wallpaper" that wraps around the establishment that is actually graffiti from over the years; very coo and unique! The crowd ranges from families, to the seasoned citizens, to the young and excited! The bartender Ashley was really nice and warm and always smiled through the busy brunch crowd. Stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday and was so impressed!! The food was soooo good and the service was on point even with how busy it was. We got the The All American with tofu bacon and potatoes! The Tofu bacon was good and was similar to Sweet Earth bacon. We also got the French Toast Sticks, which were SO WORTH IT! They are fluffy and a little crispy on such a good way. And we got the pot roast hash but substituted the Impossible Sausage for the meat and it was soo good, the Saugus is amazing as is but with all the toppings it was so good! Breakfast served all day is definitely a winner. They bring out complimentary fresh biscuits and cornbread for every table! YUM. I am new to the area, and I heard good things about this place, so I was looking forward to seeing what the buzz was all about. A friend and I went here 3/2/2022 for lunch. It didn't go well. As a person who doesn't care for cheese, it took me a few minutes to land on an option that didn't include it. I know I can request they hold the cheese, but for my first visit I wanted to taste a dish as per the menu. The next hurdle was trying to get past all the vegan options. I didn't want a BLT with tofu bacon. Again, I know I could request substitutes, but. I decided on the chicken and waffles. I thought it was good. Not great. In addition to a challenging menu, the other issue was the service, or more specifically the lack there of. The place was half empty. We waited about 10 minutes before a waitress came over to take our drink order. As she put the drinks down she told us another waiter will be coming over to take our food order. Another ten minutes went by when the same waitress (without further explanation) reappeared to take our food order. Requests for more water were ignored. When we got the check, we waited for someone to come by to pick it up. That never happened. We gave up, walked to the bar to pay it instead. The bartender looked at the check, excused himself, had a conversation with the waitress, and returned with the same check. We asked if there was a problem. He said no. Bizarre. Brunch or lunch is served all day! Parking situation could be better, but it's Dallas. What do you Expect? For starters we did the jalepeno hush puppies and the deviled eggs. I think the hush puppies and the sauce it came with were good but the pickles needed a seasoning it tasted like just yolk with pickles on top. I ordered chicken fried steak, whipped potatoes and okra with gravy on the side. The steak was covered in gravy and the potatoes where mashed with skins. Both were barely warm. The okra was good and hot as well. My husband ordered the ground steak and it didn't even have enough gravy to covered the dry over cooked ground beef. When I told the waitress about the gravy she replied that she didn't know I meant the steak as well as the steak. She didn't a knowledge her mistake until I pointed it out. Had such a bad experience here this morning. Asked for turkey bacon in our breakfast tacos due to religious reasons and the food that was brought out looked like ham. I had my friend try it and he said it was definitely pork so I asked the waiter (he was so sweet) to get a veggie breakfast taco plate instead. The manager comes out minutes later and tells us that the meat simply looks like bacon but it really is turkey bacon .... We said ok to not argue and asked for a veggie breakfast taco instead. When the manager brought out the "veggie breakfast taco" she slammed the plate on the table mad and upset and stood across the restaurant staring at us and pointing at our table while talking to another waitress (can you at least hide how unprofessional and rude you are being). All that to the side - when we looked down at the plate we were in complete shock. Literal disbelief.......... there were crushed up cool ranch nacho Doritos IN PLACE OF EGGS..... I am ..... so lost. The breakfast taco came with eggs and pork and we said we wanted veggies instead of the pork. We got cool ranch Doritos and broccoli. The manager came back and was very condescending and did not understand our dietary restrictions. It's 2021.... Time to stop being ignorant. I've never been a fan of Lucky's. In my opinion, the food is always bland and tasteless. I recently visited for dinner and was hugely surprised. I ordered pot roast, and it was fantastic. Loved the bread that came with it, and it was a generous portion for the price. The meat was mostly lean, and I didn't need to remove huge chunks of fat. We were there nearly three hours (restaurant wasn't full), and we never felt rushed to leave. In fact, our drinks were refilled several times. Talk about friendly, competent service! We were looking for a place to take our kids to brunch. We found Lucky's on Yelp and I am so glad we gave it a chance. We all got something different. We started with the fried pickles. They are bread and butter pickles not dill like you normally get. They were really good. I got the "get lucky club" with onion rings. Our daughter got the French toast sticks (to die for), our son got the Bird Benedict and my husband got the grilled chicken sandwich. Everyone was really happy with their choice.
