I was recommended Luella by friends and I had read online that the chef had something special going. My husband and I decided to give it a try for date night. We left feeling very underwhelmed. We had a 5 oclock reservation but got there a little early because we were unfamiliar with the area. Valet took our car and than we were stuck waiting outside for about 15 minutes because the door didn't open until 5. Even when opened the staff didn't seem ready. The hosted desk had owalas and other random objections. Our table when seated as missing a candle. The music was loud and kept changing volume/songs like they were trying to figure out what to play for the first couple minutes. Staff was walking through chatting drinking our styrofoam cups. We heard several parties saying they were returning after visiting a couple of weeks prior because they loved the new menu , which seemed promising. I think that may simply be because it's something new and different for the area. My husband and I both ordered cocktails. I got the Rosemary's Baby Daddy, and my husband ordered one with Japanese bourbon. Mine was INSANELY too sweet. I expected a refreshing, herbal lemon drink, but there was really no flavor other than sweetness. The only rosemary in the drink was the sprig floating on top. Even while looking at the menu online beforehand, I found it confusing: sushi, pasta, steak, pork chops, veal, cornbread, and caviar. There didn't seem to be a flow that made sense, and even our waiter seemed somewhat confused by it, saying, "Oh, this is our tagline we are suppose to say we are an Italian steakhouse with Japanese influence." We tried a little bit of everything: the burrata, the "off-menu" lobster tempura roll (I truly think they were simply trying to use up lobster because it was essentially just a lobster and rice roll, tempura-fried and absolutely drenched it was swimming in eel sauce and spicy mayo), the wagyu ravioli, the Steak Spinalis al Limone (we ordered it sliced, and it was cut lengthwise, which I thought was strange), and the bananas foster cheesecake (other than a slice of banana on top, there wasn't much banana flavor to it). They do have a really cool, well-designed bathroom, but other than that, everything else was just okay. There are so many great restaurants in the Atlanta area, and we were just extremely underwhelmed. I can't say we'd be back anytime soon.

I want to start by saying that the service we had last night at Luella was phenomenal. I wish I remembered everyone's name but they were attentive and knowledgeable. The food was great as well! We had the Wagyu Carpaccio, Diablo Roll, Focaccia bread, Louisiana Oysters, Wagyu NY strip, Cowboy steak, and the Ribeye Spinalis , Gouda Fries, and Brussels Sprouts. I also got the Miyagi and a Carajillo as drinks and they were great too! The steak was really good but the starters, drinks, sushi and the sides were definitely the stand outs. I will definitely been back!

Great food. Really great food. Tartar with watermelon, focaccia, Caesar salad, steak, market fish the Diablo roll was actually my favorite. Ambiance was good. Service was good. Wine selection was good. Overall a solid place.

Went for my bday dinner and it was so nice! Our server was attentive and the sommelier picked us out a lovely bottle! The oysters were AMAZING I would go back for them in a heartbeat. New York vibe inside and the bathroom is so pretty

I went out with some friends, and Luella really did not let us down! The staff was fantastic, and the decor was so nice, it made the whole place feel special. The food was also incredibly delicious and packed with flavor. The stuffed mushrooms were a real highlight--they were a special, imported from Italy, and then there were the stuffed Wagyu ravioli. The chocolate cake was the perfect finishing touch, making the whole meal complete. It was also nice because the chef came over towards the end of our meal to chat with us and ask how we enjoyed everything.

No visible child policy at point of reservation
    Jared W.

We were genuinely excited to dine at Luella and made our reservation well in advance. At no point during the booking process--especially on OpenTable--was there any mention of a child‑related policy. Because nothing in the reservation flow indicated otherwise, we had no reason to think bringing our infant would be an issue. Then, on the day of our reservation, we received a call informing us of the policy. Only after receiving this call did we discover that the restaurant does have a nebulously worded "no children under 10" rule, but it's tucked away in a buried section of their website rather than presented anywhere a guest would naturally see it while making a reservation. To be clear: I fully respect a business's right to set its own rules. What I don't respect is a lack of transparency and basic courtesy. This policy should be disclosed upfront, especially when a reservation explicitly notes an infant. Instead, we were blindsided with last‑minute notice, forcing us to scramble and adjust plans for family who had traveled into town. This was entirely avoidable and, frankly, rude. If Luella wants to enforce age restrictions, that's their prerogative. But hiding the policy, failing to surface it during the reservation process, and only mentioning it hours before the meal is unacceptable. For a restaurant positioning itself as a premium Buckhead dining experience, the lack of professionalism was surprising and disappointing. Atlanta has plenty of excellent restaurants that value their guests' time and communicate clearly. We'll be choosing one of them next time.

Absolute vibe, this place can be both chic and laid back, people in suits and ties and jeans and boots. We sat at a high top in the bar and it had great energy so I'd recommend this place for happy hours and late cocktails. Brooke provided fantastic service and was super knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the Caesar salad, burrata and ribeye. Very happy with those choices, great flavor and presentation. And hope to come back to try a few other things. Great date spot or place for a celebration

I've been wanting to try this place for a while so I finally decided to take myself to dinner this past Saturday. I arrived at about 7:30pm. I had no reservation and the bar was mostly full but the manager Andrew found a single seat at the bar. My bartender was David and he made the best drinks. Both gave great recommendations on food. I loved the Gouda fries. I'll definitely be back to try the pasta and a few more cocktails. This place was really chill and had good music.

I went to Luella for NYE + my anniversary and had the perfect night. From the host stand to our server, Sonya, everyone was great. The decor in here is so chic. We started with the Gouda fries, great choice. For entrees we had the crab & artichoke lasagna, roasted half chicken, Brussels, and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were complimentary because the kitchen wasn't satisfied with the first batch of Brussels they prepared so they gave us the potatoes while we waited for a new serving. Great customer service move! I will definitely be back!

Carpaccio was my personal favorite. The veal parm was the best thing to hit the table. Service was top notch, both at the bar for cocktails before and at the table. The vibe inside is the perfect amount of old school decor and great playlist mix. Valet only for parking.

Had dinner with my sisters to celebrate a birthday. I live in NY and was in town for a few days. I mention NY because you know my bar is high in regard to fine dinning and steak houses. The entrance catches your eye when you walk up. That is a sign you're in for a treat. We were seated right away, in the back room with the fireplace and the Christmas tree. That was the perfect vibe we needed. Now for the food. The waiter, so sorry I forget his name was so pleasant. I also loved that he was proactive with his recommendations. We shared the following. The Crab Cake, Rosemary Focaccia, Tomahawk, Brussels Sprouts, Gouda Fries, Carrot Cake, and Chocolate Cake. The portions are generous and everything was amazing. Like I mentioned, I'm from NY and I know a good steak and let me tell you, this hit the mark. All around 10. If you can get a res, you need to check it out. Next time I'm in town I def will.

Food was incredible and service was impeccable. One of my favorite meals of the year.

Such an incredible evening spent at Luella celebrating the opening of Buckhead's newest dining jewel! Walking in the door, we were blown away by the elegant design & color drenched atmosphere, every attention to detail is thoughtfully curated! Truly, a stellar & magical experience from the out of the world small plates to our main courses & sides to share, then onto to desserts! Not to be missed is their gorgeous bar & crafted margaritas, best I've ever had! Luella is just what this city needed to bring back the ART of fine dining in an extraordinarily mouth watering and artful style! Every dish was a standout from this creative and decadent menu, so hard to make the decision on what to save for next time! Our server Kai (and his team) was not only attentive and professional, he delivered with excellence in his table side manner, recommendations and knowledge of each dish! Where to start: Don't sleep on the small plates! Decadent Italian cheese Pugliese Burrata, braised beef Wagyu croquettes, melt in your mouth smoked chili butter crab cakes, and the rosemary focaccia with nocellara olive oil... ALL outstanding! We then moved onto the incredible spicy lobster rigatoni with vodka sauce, the crisp ceasar salad & the Luella salad with charred scallion + benne seed dressing to share! Every bite better than the last, on all 3!! Main course & sides to share: we were ready to get into the rock stars of the menu, the steaks! 3 of us has the mouth watering 12oz Luella signature bone in filet cooked to perfection and 1 had the unbelievable 20oz bone in ribeye! We shared gouda fries, white balsamic glaze brussel sprouts, cultured butter whipped potatoes and the Marsala glazed wild mushrooms! WoW, each extraordinary and not to be missed! We closed out the evening (even though we were full to the brim) with another margarita ;) and shared the gorgeous bananas foster cheesecake & delicious chocolate and pistachio budino Italian custard. Both straight out of the clouds! THANK you Luella... for bringing your vision to fruition, for such an amazing night to slow down, connect with family, take our taste buds to the stars and to share in the joy & creative artistry of Chef Stuart making his magic in the cuisine of his dreams! Bravo, well done from start to finish! 1000/10!

Burrata and Carpaccio are must orders at the table. The veal parmigiana is the best one in the city.

This is my second time here and both times have been so good. We came as a party of 3 and left so happy and full. I love Mexican food holy moly We got the queso and octopus shrimp ceviche as starters. The queso was 3 cheeses: American, cotija, and Oaxacan. They heated it up under a salamander so it was nice and crispy on top, while being gooey all throughout. Also came with a couple of nice salsas. The ceviche was not my favorite because I don't prefer raw(ish) octopus, but the squid ink sauce was very flavorful. For our mains the 3 of us shared the red snapper, tuetano with lamb, and the mixteco poblano pepper. Red snapper had a nice charred smoky flavor from being grilled. Was more meaty than flaky in texture. It was our second time getting the mixteco poblano pepper and it hits. Highly recommend eating with some of the salsa as well if you get queso. The duck carnitas in it wasn't particularly duck-y today, but still very good. Best dish is definitely the tuetano. The bone marrow is so incredibly flavorful with the blue corn tortillas. Add some of the pickled onions and it's hard to go wrong with that flavor combo of salt, fat, and acid. if you're going to order one thing, I'd order this and share with a friend and tbh it's enough to be filling. For dessert we got the volcan de chocolate (basically lava cake). The lava cake and coconut ice cream combo is fantastic. You get bits of coconut flakes as you eat! Fair warning it isn't the brownie texture you may be used to, it's a bit more cakey. Amazing service the whole night! Almost got our cars booted because we forgot to validate until 1.5 hours in but luckily we were fine. The staff let us know they have been booting cars though so be wary!

Our daughter spent the first few minutes waving at the staff, and they genuinely lit up every time -- such a warm, welcoming vibe right from the jump. Starters We kicked things off with the she‑crab soup, and that's when we knew the meal was going to be special. Tons of rich crab flavor and chunks of crab. The crispy shrimp toast was another hit -- crunchy, savory, and a great pairing with the soup. We also ordered the Baker's Dozen oysters, chef's selection. All 13 were fresh, clean, and briny in the best way. Next up: the Spanish octopus, and honestly... top five octopus dish we've had. Cooked perfectly -- tender, melt‑in‑your‑mouth texture. The salsa macha added just the right amount of heat, and the marcona almonds brought a great crunch with the cilantro, lime, and mint brightening everything up. What a beautifully composed dish. We finished with the Halibut and Lady peas. The Halibut was topped with lobster and served with a lobster butter sauce, chives, and capers. Rich, buttery, flaky, and perfectly cooked. The lady peas (fava beans, asparagus, and a generous mound of blue crab) were another standout. So much flavor, but everything complemented each other instead of competing. One of those sides you keep looking for more of when it's gone. --- Overall Every dish was thoughtful, balanced, and executed at a high level. When we addressed with the server, she argued with us that that's how a lobster is and that there could be more meat hidden on the plate. It felt like she thought we were there to just get more food by saying "so what do you want, more meat" but if we had it in the shell we would have received our full portion. Our drinks were still not served when we were halfway through our entree, 30 mins after we arrived. I canceled mine, as I didn't want an after-dinner drink, I expected it before or with starters. There was no apology after my cancellation, and this did not rush them to produce my husband's drink either. It was served about 15 minutes later, after our table had been cleared. Still charged us for it, though! We finished our waters with the appetizers, but no refill until specifically requested near the end of our entrees when our bar drinks were a no-show. The fries are always my favorite. Not today! They were all stuck together in a mass and chewy, almost like they had been reheated a few times a long while ago. My prime rib was fine, my husband's usual order, a ribeye, was not good. The outside of the steak was tough, but raw in the center, and tasteless. Double-cooked? This was very disappointing, as we have tried almost every steakhouse in ATL, and this has always been his favorite. I specified on Resy that it was a birthday dinner - no mention of that, either.

I was actually surprised there weren't more people there because this place is a hidden gem! The location is incredibly convenient, with a parking garage right next door offering two hours of free parking, which is a huge plus in Atlanta. The happy-hour menu is fantastic, with $3, $6, and $9 menu items that come in the perfect portions. They also offer specialty cocktails for just $9 that are normally $23--a great deal! The atmosphere is trendy, stylish, and energetic, while the service was attentive without being overbearing. Even one of the managers stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying our visit, which really stood out to me. Overall, STK Atlanta is definitely worth checking out, especially for Friday happy hour. Great food, great atmosphere, excellent service, and an unbeatable happy-hour value. I'll definitely be back!

The…read moreatmosphere is upscale and energetic, making it a great choice for a special dinner, date night, or even a solo evening. The staff outside greeted me warmly and checked me in, but once inside, the reception felt noticeably different. The staff seemed a little less friendly and somewhat snappy, which didn't quite match the welcoming atmosphere STK presents. Thankfully, once I was seated, my experience completely turned around. I was dining alone, and my server, Ana, was phenomenal. She was attentive without hovering, personable, and made excellent recommendations. The drink she suggested was delicious, and she also recommended the Brussels sprouts, which were amazing. I ordered the ribeye medium-well, and it was cooked just right. Even the bread with the butter and blue cheese was good. The rest of the service team was attentive as well. My plates were cleared promptly, and two managers stopped by during dinner to make sure everything was going well. As a solo diner, I especially appreciated receiving the same attention and level of service as any other table. STK is definitely on the pricier side, and the menu is largely à la carte, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. Still, if you're looking for an upscale dining experience and don't mind spending a little more, I recommend trying it.
