Updating one of my first Charlotte Yelp reviews because Luigi's is still the best New York style pizza in the Charlotte area. Huge slices that are bigger than a standard paper plate, served fresh and hot. Yep, they have other great stuff too. I've bought home a massive calzone (spinach? yes, please) that my wife really enjoyed. As well, their chicken cordon bleu sandwich hits the spot. But for me, it's the 'za and Luigi's sells it in massive pies or by the slice. Get some! Note that there are now TWO Luigi's outlets in the area. This one is in the Wal-Mart shopping center. Went for Stromboli and a slice of pizza for my wife. They looked very frustrated, somewhat unorganized and couldn't keep up with call outs for food. They got my wife's pizza slice wrong, and the Stromboli was not very good at all. Took 20/30 minutes just to get the food. Hopefully they can get back to the quality they used to have. read more

You can order by the slice, which is nice, but we ordered a large half pepperoni and half cheese, along with the cheesy garlic bread. If I could give this place zero stars I would, I ordered pasta and two slices of pizza. There was absolutely no flavor in the pasta it tasted like cardboard. The bread that they gave me was a heated up sandwich bread it wasn't even garlic and the salad was old. Ok,so first, the pizza is great. Just love it and being from NY, I just love to stop there for a slice and do often. I tell people about this place all the time. So this time trying not to be mean as I was going to work I asked if she could not forget my order this time and she just ignores me.Then ten minutes later as I am sitting I hear a slice to go, so thinking its not me sitting at a table dont get up. 5 minutes later I get up and she hands me a bag to go. Hello did I say it was to go, I rip open the bag to go have a seat the slice is like warm and mushy, not crispy.The only thing I can think of is that I don't tip for a slice, since I go get it mysel and am not served. I was in the neighborhood and have had Luigi's on my bookmark list for a LONG time and it was lunch time so.... Two slices and a drink please! About the slices. Perhaps the thinnest crust I have ever had on a pizza with a fantastic crunch and nice chew. Perfect? Maybe not but darn close. The rest of the two cheese slices were pretty basic with nothing special to write about but, the crust made the whole thing go. The menu is varied with many more choices than just pizza. This location service is HORRIBLE. Accountability is not a thing, I ordered a pizza through DoorDash, whom they chose to partner with and signed a merchant agreement to do so. On 11/13, at 7:36pm I received a all from my dasher informing me that another dasher picked up my order the restaurant representative stated that "those happens all the time and I need to take it up with DoorDash" which I did but still does not provide a solution on my order still not being delivered after the representative verified my order with the missing dasher at this point. I asked to speak to a manager "the manager" relied a message "that he would call me back" with NO NUMBER OR NAME inquiry. In business, etiquette and resolve are key to maintain customers and expand your brand. For this location to be aware of DoorDash allocating Dashers and their customers not receiving their order and placing blame solely on the DoorDash in which they chose to pursue as means of delivery contractually and not develop a resolve for it not to reflect negatively on their business is beyond disappointing. read more
