Came here on a Monday night with my boyfriend. We got a two scoop ice cream, a black and white banana split, and a BLT. Really enjoyed the food and how flavorful the specialty ice is! Unfortunately the indoor seating area was just too packed! read more

I went to Lulu's with a couple of friends today, and we brought in some drinks when it said no outside food or drinks. We had already previously asked a worker of theirs if we could bring it in, and she said that it should be totally fine. We walked in and grabbed a booth, and immediately noticed one of the workers staring at us, looking annoyed. I walked up so I could grab all of our orders, and the worker who looked at us annoyingly took my order. I asked for some family fries and two ice creams. She went on to say, and that would be to-go, and I said no it wouldn't be because we had a booth in the corner. She said that my friends and I have "tried to trick her" too many times now and "she's not stupid". I proceeded to tell her that one of her co-workers allowed my friends and I to bring our outside drinks into the establishment, but she continued saying how "It says on the door that no food or drinks are allowed in Lulu's". I finally just stopped arguing and said I didn't care and told her to get me a to-go box and walked away. My friends and I walked out and went to the nearby Starbucks to eat our food. I will most definitely not be going there again, but if I do I hope to not see that worker again. Very poor customer service this time, even though most of the other times I had pretty good service. I have never seen this employee before but I do not like the way she treats her customers. Such a shame because I really enjoyed this place, but I guess you guys just lost a couple of customers. Do not recommend this to anyone who likes to have good customer service. read more

Cute place but way over priced for freezer burnt tasting food.

I've have had a good experience every time. The Ice cream is good especially on those hot summer days.

The food and the vibe is awesome. Service can be a little slow but only because their usually very busy. The product taste very fresh and the usually decorate based on the seasons. I usually have a burger or one of the sandwiches. The shakes are delicious. It's a little pricey but I guess you pay for quality. read more

Took the kids there because I had heard it was good.. ordered 3 hamburgers, curly fries and chicken strips. It took about 20 minutes for the food which was HORRIBLE! The chicken strips were hard as a rock for my toddler and the hamburgers and French fries were over cooked with no flavor! And the place was SUPER Dirty!! Would never eat there again!! read more

Service was good. A little over $10 for small side of garlic fries, hamburger and a medium soda. The lady at the register was nice and realized i didn't not get my soda yet so she grabbed it for me. Growing up in Turlock, and especially while attending THS, Penguin's Ice Cream was a fixture of my youth. I was devastated when it closed and another rank-and-file Starbucks was unceremoniously put up in its place. Lulu's has reestablished my faith! I recently tried it while visiting my hometown and I was thrilled! It has the special touches you only find in a locally-owned shop, and offers an environment significantly cleaner and cuter than my old Penguin's. The owner is friendly and the retro decor is reminiscent of a 1950's soda fountain or candy shop. It's sunny and adorable! Lulu's is offering the same warm, comfortable, after-school environment that Penguin's did for my friends and I, but with a cuter shop and tastier options! After years of Turlock turning to boring and predictable chains and strip mall fixtures, it's my favorite thing to hit the town in years!! I'll be visiting it every time I come home to see the family for sure! read more

The ice cream is anything you can get at baskin robins or places like that. The service was horrible. The teenager that served us our ice cream didn't smile and looked very bored. I felt like we were an annoyance to her. She doesn't have to worry, though. I won't be going back and I'll be sure to let my friends know. I get it. Don't order a salad at an ice cream parlor. However, for a place that specializes in "home made" I didn't expect a handful of lettuce topped by some over-defrosted bulk resturarant chicken cubes. When I paid $7.00 for this salad, I commented in a shocked voice, "I hope it's worth it." Well, the value of the food did not equal the cost.......Perhaps they should stick with ice cream and quit the salad business? read more

I'm all about putting money back in the community and supporting small businesses... But I just want to say I was extremely disappointed with lulus when I took my family and kids there. The way how they have it set up is really poor an unorganized. If you see people with their kids slept you know ice cream do not skip them over if you know they're next in line! This happened quite a few times and I had to speak up.. And the girl points up and says look at the sign says your served right here... Wow... For a person that is new to lulu's.. We don't know that! I mean you're there waiting to get served and people are jumping ahead of you line.. It would've been nice if the girl would've just said hey if you ready to order please come up to the cash register and place your order.. OK so after this mishap happened's books we finally get our ice cream and food... And to be honest with you I rather would've just save money and went to McDonald's, because their food is average at best. And it represents their service time. But now I know and for next time I think we will go somewhere that is cheaper has better service and better food.. For example McDonald's, rite aid ice cream, Stone cold creamery, Red Robin.. All those are far better options than this place!!! read more

What a great surprise! It's a neighborhood restaurant/sweets place! Refrigerated ice cream cases with full selection to choose from. Had a patty melt with sweet potato fries--good presentation and fresh! My daughter had a chicken Caesar salad that looked very fresh like the romaine had just been cut in minute or two before serving--no brown edges anywhere! Staff was friendly and took the order efficiently and food was out in no time at all. Oh yes--real glasses for drinks--no overuse of plastic or paper! Happy I went--I'll go back soon. read more

Not too impressed with Lulu's these days. My sister, son, and I went in one weekday afternoon to get a tasty ice cream treat. When we walked in the door nobody even acknowledged that we had walked in, instead the worker was too busy chatting away with her friend (possible customer too). It took her a good five minutes maybe longer for her too see we were looking at the ice creams and waiting to be helped. Finally she did come over to help us and was friendly. My sister then asked her politely if she could check the balance on her gift card she received for her birthday and had no idea how much was on it. The worker informed us we should keep track of how much is on it because it cost 25 cents every time you run it to check the balance. I thought this is strange because my sister and I didn't know the balance to begin with. At last we got our ice creams and were excited to have them on a warm day. Unfortunately we were met with disappointment as our ice cream was not that great, even Rite Aid has better ice cream than them. We thought this was the end of our Lulu's experience but we were mistaken. After we finished our ice creams (we ate outside of Starbucks) we proceeded to walk to the Dollar Store to check out some little toys for my toddler son and saw the SAME worker that helped us walk out with some of the syrups for ice cream from the Dollar Store. No wonder our ice cream wasn't good, they use Dollar Store syrups to flavor their ice cream!! We will not be going back again ever, not even to use the rest of the gift card. read more

Not too long ago a few friends of mine and I were ordering a couple of rounds of chili cheese fries, but at the same time we had a drink or two from the dollar store. The manager or whoever this lady was just came up to us and repeatedly asked us why we didn't just go to subway to eat our food and drink our drinks. It really bothered us that she was just basically trying to convince us to leave the establishment. Obviously we ordered food from there with the intention to eat the food THERE. I truly want to love this place and it is a very popular local spot, however, for me it is just too dirty. I have been here a handful of times and have yet to find a clean table. We have even came right at opening and every table has been dirty, sticky even. The staff is friendly and the food is tasty. I just can't get passed the lack of cleanliness. read more

It was GREAT food was great atmosphere was great... I did not find the staff to be overly helpful or friendly but however our experience at lulus was great! We have been going to Lulu's since they opened. Lately we have noticed that the portion sizes for the ice cream sundae's are noticeably smaller. So small that it is now hard to justify the price. Most of the staff is friendly but it's hard to get a clean table. We usually bus the tables ourselves. The biggest complaint is the decreasing size of the portions. read more

This is a cute little parlor. The food is a bit high priced but it's pretty good. I love to get the patty melt. The sundaes are rather large and surely can't be eaten by one person alone. We love Lulu's!!! Awesome little home town grill and ice cream shop. My kids love coming her on Monday nights for spin the wheel night. You get to spin the wheel for the price of your banana split. I always let my 5 year old spin because she seems to always hit the "free" one. I usually have to pay full price. Fun place to eat with good food and reasonable pricing. read more

I googled 'ice cream' today on my way up 99 and Lulu's came up. I popped the address in the gps and found it in a newly built complex in a nice area of town. The ice cream was delicious and they had a big list of sundaes. The place was very clean too and people were nice. I would definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again. read more

LuLu's is a great treat for the kids. The ice cream is great and their food is good, though I wouldn't say great. Fun atmosphere. It sometimes feels like it could be spruced up a little bit, not always as meticulously clean as I'd like but there are a lot of kids with sticky fingers running around at any given time. read more
