I was floored and almost forgot to order because I just fell in love with the décor. Not only is the place appealing to the eye its also serves very appetizing ice cream. I ordered a scoop of tin roof (I think that's what it was called). It had chocolate syrup, vanilla, and peanut butter cups. The single scoop looked like a double. Between the three of us it was less than $10. Which I think is really affordable considering you can probably spend that much on just one serving at cold stones. Came in for a milkshake and it was good, nothing bad about the customer service and the flavor of ice creams and the amount of toppings is pretty impressive. They do have food as well like burgers and mexican food so I'll try them out sometime. Please do something with your staff. The young girls working the counter don't seem to care or notice anything anymore. We walked in and it wasn't busy as all, but the place was filthy.. There was garbage literally piled up on the floors and under the tables.. None of them had been cleared.. My husband went to get the towel and cleaner himself and they were out. Finally after about 20 min if waiting we had someone come and wipe our table down. Honestly, it made me lose my appetite. Decent burgers, great shakes and ice cream. I'd say they are a bit overpriced for the food, but they have promotions to give you discounts on Mondays (banana splits) and the service is friendly. We had to clean a table for ourselves when we got there and paid $25 for 2 burger meals and a shake. Burgers were just ok. I would say the selling point of this place is certainly the shakes and ice cream, the quality of which i would give it 4 stars for. First time. Last time. Went out for ice cream at a new spot and we asked if it was okay to sit at one of the empty booths inside. They said yes, and after we ordered and paid, we asked if they could wipe the booth down since there was trash all over the seats and food crumbs on the table. Without saying a word the worker quickly wiped it down and didn't say anything when we told her thank you a few times. After about five more families came in, ordered and got their food before us - we went to ask for an update as we only ordered French fries and a grilled cheese. They had us wait at the counter for a few more minutes before handing us the plate that had been set aside from the rest of the prepared orders. I had watched the entire time and never had they set aside the orders that were ready, they were immediately placed on the shelf for pick up. Not ours. If you love a traditional burger and an old fashioned ice cream parlor this small town joint is the place for you. They don't have an extensive menu (no salads and only a few types of burgers) but the food is amazingly tasty, the service is good, and it's always clean and well lit. It's perfect for little people. It does get crowded on Sunday's after the church crowd gets out but you can beat the crowd by ordering ahead and picking up your order. This establishment has good good and a casual atmosphere. Some of the best items to order (in my opinion) are the Lulu Melt, the curly fries, and their milkshakes. Although this a good place to get food, the only downside is that it gets very busy here, at times such as lunch hours or after the nearby schools get out. In addition to how busy it gets, the high school students love to hangout there after school which is around 2:50. This may not seem like a problem but they are loud, and rowdy and made these poor employees clean up their messes (I know from personal experience). From the dead eyed employees , to the tired decor and the warm humid atmosphere of the place (who wants to be in a warm and humid ice-cream store ???), the minute we walked in we knew this place was going to disappoint. The employees never acknowledged us or even cracked a smile when we were ordering. They let us know that the ice-cream isnt made in store (even more disappointing). I tried the expresso chip and tasted basically nothing but sugar and ice water. The spouse had a malt milkshake and I could have made a better one with a store bought malt powder and some other ingredients. This place is a hold over from when Turlock was smaller . The childish girl with curly hair wiped it down without a word. So I got up to ask where our food was and the childish girl with curly hair had set our food aside for whatever petty reason. Maybe cause I asked her to do her job correctly. I shouldn't even have to ask an employee to CLEAN??? Even when we finally received our food, I was missing a side of fries.
