First time ever ax throwing and I have to admit we are hooked! The reason for the 3 stars is because of the customer service but if it was based solely off the game if would absolutely be a 5. The place is really well designed and a fun environment with music and a large bar. Everything looks clean and well taken care of. When we first stopped in to find out if we needed a reservation, the employee was friendly and helpful and told us we did not need to reserve a bay and we could come back in whenever ready and get a bay with little wait. He said they charge per hour and we just pay for after if we did end up adding more time. We left for a quick bite and came back about an hour later. When we came back there was all new faces and it was definitely a less friendly greeting. We told them we had already talked with an employee and they were aware we'd be returning, and also that we had already filled out our waiver online. Something to note that we thought was weird, they have you pay for the 1st hour before playing but they ask if you want to tip the person who explains the rules. I asked them how do we know how much to tip them if we don't know what they do or if they're good. They said well you have so and so and she's good. Lol weird. I still tipped 20% in hopes it would be appropriate. We were put in a bay right away and an employee spent about 3-4 min showing 2 different holds on the ax and watched us throw twice and that was the last time we saw her. We grabbed a drink from their bar, VERY tasty lumberitas, and went back to the bay to play. We had SO much fun! There's several different types of games you can play: first to 21, a version of horse, black out, tic tac toe, etc. We had been playing about 45 min when the same employee who checked us in came and told us our time was up. We told her we wanted to play another hour and she said we couldn't because people were waiting. We tried to explain to her what the 1st employee told us but she just said oh, well people weren't waiting and now they are so you can't add time. Had we known that was what could happen we would have prepaid for 2 hours just in case we liked it. We took our drinks and sat at an open table to finish them since we had just bought another round thinking we would be there for awhile longer. We were sitting there for about 5 min when the same employee came and told us we needed to move to a different table. We had NO idea why because there was no one waiting to sit there and the table didn't say it was reserved for a bay. The employee didn't explain anything to us either. We were so frustrated at that point that we left without finishing our not cheap drinks. It's really unfortunate that the service was poor because we really did enjoy the place itself. It was our first night out without kids in months and our fun was cut short because they did not explain to us that we would bumped from our spot. We will be checking out some other ax throwing places but I could still recommend this place based on the place and not the people. read more

Charged me $1600 for food that costs about $340 when going to the caterer directly. I told them I was taking what was left over home, so the manager came back to the table after I walked away and took all the lids from under all of the containers and threw them away. No reason to do that other than to make it difficult for me to take the food home. He literally had to lift each container, including condiments, to get to the lids so he could throw them away in the back room, not in the trash can right next to the food. Guess he really wanted the leftovers. Instructors were snippy and bossy young girls. Kept threatening my to kick my guests out for things they never instructed them not to do. No one was being rowdy or unsafe, the instructors just weren't interested in explaining anything except to let us know they were in charge. Our cocktail waitress on the other hand was amazing. Props to her. It's a pop-up business run by young people. They don't give a crap about the customers and have no sense of what service is. There was no way to keep score in any of the lanes I rented. So everyone just threw hatchets at the wall until they were bored. The place is just an excuse to take more money from you than the average bar, without offering much for your money. The only fun you will have is what you bring with you, they don't offer you anything but an inflated bill. I've thrown axes at other venues and it was great but it's a hard pass on this one. read more

This place was SO FUN!!. We we're at WESTGATE for dinner, we were walking around after and saw the Axe Throwing. I always wanted to try it but thought Next Time.. . Wei originally just walked in to ask questions. the staff made it simple and explained every thing. We had our kids age 8 and 14 and she explained the kids can throw too. We we're thinking it's just for adults and it's for EVERYONE!!!! So we signed up. It was a fair price, they have food and a bar to order!! It was amazing for our first time. It was hard to find though for all our party guests. Definitely did not know it was PBR weekend so it was packed for blocks to park and walk 30 mins. Definitely check the areas out before scheduling for the arena. My husband and friends loved celebrating my husband's 30th here! The appetizers were really good. I do wish they had more food options for meals especially for kids maybe adding an item or two. The couch was amazing, the hosts, bartenders, and management do take care of you to make sure you enjoy your time. read more

If you're looking for a great night out with friends or family this place is great! So much fun! Staff is super friendly and they had good bar food and great drinks. It was great to see the manager, Brenna, walking around and readily available for any questions. She even gave me some great pointers that allowed me to actually hit the board and stick it. This was our 1st time at Lumberjaxes (School Holiday Party) and we were not disappointed. Hunter was a great coach and made it fun. The ladies at the front desk were so friendly and extremely helpful!! We had food catered in from Bar Louie and it was great. Thank you for making our holiday event so wonderful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The ax is only 1.25lbs so not heavy at all. Lots of fun to be had...LOL read more

Had an amazing time at Lumberjaxes last night with my work colleagues! Our axe instructor, Xavier was fantastic and so patient. He did a great job keeping everyone involved and having a good time. Nice way to blow off some steam and bond with our team. The throwing lanes were large and safety was obviously a main consideration. I would recommend them to anyone thinking about trying something new. read more

Lumberjaxes was an absolute blast!! I didn't think I could do it but turns out I was pretty consistent hitting the bullseye!! Instructor was fabulous (sorry I forgot his name) and it was a bonus to be there at 11:00 and it wasn't crowded at all. It was fun environment at this bar. Everyone was very tentative to us in making sure we were doing okay and that everything was to our tasting. Our coach was super nice and friendly in teaching us in throwing axes. Overall, the experience was super fun and would definitely come again with family and friends. read more

Ok place to hangout for an hour. Not sure that I'd go back at that price. I thought the staff stood around talking amongst themselves to much. Except Hunter, Hunter was cool. He answered all our questions and stayed with each member of our group till we were comfortable throwing. read more

Went for my daughter's 16th birthday. We had so much fun. It is a bit pricey but still had an amazing time. The instructor was very helpful and patient as we all were figuring out how to throw the ax. Definitely will be going back. read more
