This is my first time trying mediterranean food and I didn't know what to expect! I ordered the gyro meat signature plate and it was pretty good. The meat was very tender, flavorful and easy to chew, the only flaw was that there were some crisp pieces that I didn't like. The rice was also good because it was flavored with spices. The pitas were good but I didn't really like the sauce (didn't really make an impact) and the salad was what you would expect a salad to be like: leafy greens, chunks of tomato's and cucumbers. Before you read this review, let me reveal that I'm really not the type of person to leave negative reviews. It very rarely happens, but I kind of felt compelled. I had been to Luna Grill a few times. The food is okay. So, you might be wondering why just one star. The primary reason is their inferior customer service along with their lack of courtesy. I had ordered the Gyros plate. I was halfway through. As I was eating the side salad, I noticed that there was a rather large dead mantis on my plate. I was sort of shocked. After few minutes, I notified one of the staff. He first looked at the salad for several seconds, and then replied very casually that oh it must have been in the lettuce box. Then, he asked me: "Do you want a dessert?". I had truly lost my appetite. So, I said no. And then he took my plate without asking or telling me anything else and left. All he said was "thanks for bringing that to our attention". He did not replace or refund my food either. I became shocked even more as I did not expect something like that at all. So, I left the place. This happened a while ago. I don't know what to say. I just wish it had not happened. I used to recommend this place, but not anymore. Bitter experience. read more

I normally come to this Luna Grill ever so often, and get great service. Today, I experienced the same great service. I was a little disappointed to see that they were out of hummus, which I usually get to accompany my kabob. Not to worry-- Chelsea quickly informed me that I was able to substitute the hummus with French fries. This was an opportunity to try their fries and they were delicious! I was then served my meal in a timely manner by Mimi, and she was quick to make sure everything was good to go with my meal. Great service! Steer clear if you need any kind of menu modifications. My order gets messed up about 50% of the time. Today was the worst, and I may never go back (too bad it is so convenient to my work). Rather than getting no tzasiki sauce, and no olives, I got both of those things (how does one pick off a creamy sauce?) and no schug (my favorite) and no onions. My bowl is now super bland. Other times, I've gotten no kale, or no something else, but at least the bowl was also missing the things that I requested to be left off. The quality control here leaves much to be desired. Good place for Mediterranean food conveniently located at UTC. It's a bit pricey ($11-16 plates) but the food and service is good. I normally get the cornish hen plate, but have also tried the chicken kebab, fish, and bistro filet beef kebab plate here. All are quite good. I like that the plates come with salad, rice, grilled tomatoes/carrot, and pita bread. Some other places you can only choose one of those as a side, so it's nice to be able to have them all. Normally the meats are cooked fine, and the cornish hen is absolutely delicous when done perfectly. But there have been a few times the meat I've gotten was a bit overcooked/dry or too burnt outside. I've also had friends get the gyros pate, falafel wrap, and beyond burger which were all good. They have a decent selection of vegetarian/vegan options. Solid spot to grab food overall. read more

It is a college campus though, so I'm assuming they're just immature in the work field. Food wise, way too expensive for what you're getting. They fill your plate with 30% rice and bread, 40% salad, and 10% protein. Also, does not taste at all like authentic middle eastern food. The hummus also was too clumpy and was not smooth. I frequent this location for take out and order from Uber Eats as well. This review is for not about the food but the customer service. Received an offer for $10 off an order for a minimum $30 purchase. Went to pay, showed cashier my offer, she scanned it and didn't know how to give me the discount. She asked a manager for help, manager came over and said "discount does not apply at this location." What, no mention of that in the offer anywhere. Paid for food and left disappointed. Luna Grill, you should honor your discount offers you send to customers. The service here is outstanding. Ive been here twice with my entire team of 28 (UCI mens Soccer) and both times the food came out hot and fresh!!! It is our new favorite spot to come as a team. All the employees are welcoming and hardworking. Never have missed an order for us, which most places do. It's one of those spots where you can just come for a light meal and hang out.
