We ate at Luna Grill for lunch and sat in the restaurant to eat. I ordered the chicken plate and was hoping the chicken itself would have more flavor from a marinade overnight but there wasn't a deep flavor unfortunately. My fiancé got the gyro meat and enjoyed it. I will go back to try something different in the future to give it another shot. I think it is a good place if you want fast Mediterranean without having to get far out of the east Mesa or Eastmark area.

Stopped by to pick up dinner for my husband and I. We both got the Santorini bowls with chicken and shrimp with fries as a side. I enjoyed my bowl-pickled onions, kale, couscous, and hummus. All ingredients worked so well! I will be coming back to try another bowl.

Inspiring good food choices since 2004, Luna Grill was a nice surprise on a Sunday evening. The food was fantastic. It was not heavy, but filling. The kids enjoyed another non-burger option, and we were in and out with happy faces and tummies. I had gyro plate with rice, spicy hummus, and tzaziki sauce. The kids had a classic pita and fries dish. Liz went with a salad bowl. There was nothing left in the end. I have to shout out Dani and Mercy They welcomed us in and made sure we never needed for anything. Warmly welcomed in, kindly helped throughout and farewelled. The location was clean, and readily busy with a steady line of dine-in and take out customers. Happily recommend Luna Grill - Mesa 10.

    Fries, cold and soggy

My expectations for a Mediterranean place: 1. Really tasty and hot fries made fresh and perfect for dipping in all the different sauces 2. Large portions of meat to fill my belly 3. Fresh and flavorful I was so excited to try this place since I love Mediterranean food. We went for lunch on a Friday and I ordered fries and the Chicken Santorini bowl. The staff at the counter was extremely nice but they looked slammed. They said 15 min to me for the food after I ordered and that didn't sound too bad. I get it, it's Friday. Ordered and luckily found a seat with my group. Definitely busy day. People seemed to be enjoying their food and it was bright and well decorated inside. The mood was good, still excited. 25 min later, no food, still excited. Then I overheard the next table over saying they waited an hour. I started noticing the food prep making a huge takeout order. I started to watch the kitchen and they looked lost. Couple of young workers, nothing on the grill and just confused. Finally seemed like the manager showed up and started directing the staff to improve efficiency and got the engine started and apologized to the other group. At that time, I started losing track of time so I asked them to check on our order. I think it took 35 plus minutes before the food came out so we just stayed positive and ate. She came to apologize and we were ok with it. Nice lady! Sad thing is, fries were soggy and cold, my chicken portion was half the amount that my friend had on his bowl for the same order and my other friend said his pita wrap wasn't tasty at all. My bowl tasted ok. I would probably eat it again but order takeout. I guess it was reasonably priced. The food did take fresh. 100% willing to try again. Maybe just having a bad day but there's definitely room for improvement. I was so hungry that I could do another flavor test next time around to verify this review. I promise not to write off this place due to the management and hard working staff.

This was our second day in a row eating here. The day before the food was perfect. Service was good. I would have given it a five stars yesterday. Today service was horrible., food was over cooked and chicken was dry. When we got our order, they forgot the hummus. They forgot our french fries and we had to ask for every little thing. And we brought the fries their attention. They started cooking it and we got the fries. They were way overdone. The staff was more concerned about talking and having a good time than actually doing our job and serving the customers. With that said I love uncle coworkers are getting together and they are having a good time but not at the expense of their customers. It is not cheap to eat there so to have a hit and miss it doesn't work for a business. If I was to write them solely based on today, it would be a one star and I would never go back.

This has always been a favorite spot for us prior to arriving in Arizona. When we learned one had opened in Phoenix, we were ecstatic. Unfortunately, our experience was much different than past experiences. The food, with the exception of the salad, was fresh and well seasoned with generous portions. The salad seemed old and soggy but they made it right by providing a credit for another visit. The biggest disappointment was the wait time. From the time we ordered to when we received our order it took over 40 minutes. The staff did check on us a few times, so kudos to the team for that. But hoping this was just an outlier experience.

Can't wait for them to open more locations. Food - Santorini Bowl - The food was full of spice and flavor. I really enjoyed it. The salmon was cooked perfectly. I got the popular Santorini Bowl at 570 Cals with couscous, tzatziki, hummus, kale medley, pickled onions, schug, olives, basmati rice and salmon. Regularly priced at $12.99 before tax. Atmosphere - The space is a bit small. They had a cute patio outside with a beach and sand motif. They had a few patio umbrellas. They kept the tables clean between customers. No strange or strong odors or smells. I did not visit the restroom. The owner was pleasant and nice and very informative. Service - The service here was quick. Order and pay at the counter. Self seating. The employees were nice and I heard they are opening more locations soon and expanding from California. Parking - Surface parking lot. No parking meter or parking structures. Would love shaded parking for the summer with covered parking or a parking structure. Unique - Nothing at add at this time other than the beach motif with the beach blanket, and beach chairs. Did not see a health rating on Yelp. Seemed clean and organized when I visited.

Chicken Kabob Plate with chickpea salad, hummus, and pita.

Based on my initial experiences at Luna Grill, I'm rating it 3 stars, but hoping to return and have a more positive experiences in the future. Both times I went, I got my meals to-go. The restaurant appeared clean and there were several people working who were friendly. The first time I went, I didn't realize that you could only order the build your own bowl online so I ended up getting the chicken kabob plate with chickpea salad, hummus & pita, and the creamy cilantro dipping sauce. Unfortunately, the sides were bland and needed more salt, and the chicken was overcooked. The dipping sauce also had a weird taste that I didn't enjoy. The more recent time, I placed the build your own bowl order that I wanted initially. I got it with 1/2 rice, 1/2 romaine, double chopped chicken (extra charge), couscous, hummus, crunchy chickpeas, medi pico, chopped red peppers, pickled onions, shug sauce, and tzatziki. The chicken was cooked much better this time, albeit still a bit dry. Since the bowl comes with romaine and rice (which is not pre-seasoned), I was wanting it with additional sauce than what they add. Maybe I'll try a dressing instead, if I get this one again. If you sign up for Luna Grill rewards, the first promo is $5 off your order which is a good deal. Then the points give you additional rewards. Since they're new, I'm hoping they'll work through some of the kinks and improve.

The amazing Garlic Bonfire Shrimp Santorini Bowl! Try it - it's just amazing.
    Michelle M.

Extremely flavorful on some items and others are meh - my hubby had the gyro which was decent but not "knock your socks off" good- the meat is a little thin and bland, but it wasn't the worst we have had. What was EXCEPTIONAL was the Garlic Bonfire Shrimp Santorini bowl- this was a total flavorbomb with so many fresh offerings - hummus, couscous, some garlicky sauce, perfectly grilled shrimp, hints of mint, lemon, cilantro and sliced olives. Just amazing. The minus one star was because when you can make something like these bowls, there's no excuse for your gyro to be so mid. Also, my falafel balls were critically burnt but had good flavor inside of the black asphalt layer. We will def go back and try other stuff here.

    Communication

We were really looking forward to trying this place, but the experience was incredibly disappointing. For a single adult and child meal (no drinks), the total came out to $50, and the portion sizes were completely lacking for both of us. The delivery process only made things worse. The driver texted to claim our place was "too difficult" to find and threatened to just leave the food somewhere "safe." When I immediately tried to call them back, they wouldn't answer. By the time the food actually arrived, it was completely cold and the flavors were entirely unimpressive. There are much better food options in the East Valley that offer higher quality and bigger portions for a lower cost. We won't be ordering from here again.

New spot in town. Franchise concept. Basically Chipotle for Mediterranean. Walk in and it smells like heaven wearing a linen shirt. I was into it. Prices are spicy. Sixteen bucks to start. You get a plate, bowl, salad, or gyro. The bowls and plates are absolute fire. Fresh, stacked, and somehow both healthy and delicious which feels like cheating. Portions are solid. You leave full and not mad at yourself. Gyros though. These are not your messy, glorious, dripping down your elbow gyros. Think salad wrap trying to cosplay as a gyro. Manage expectations and you will be fine. Staff is super friendly. Like genuinely happy humans. But watching the line move is like watching a school group trying to build a rocket from a YouTube tutorial. They just opened so hopefully the gears start turning faster. Right now it is a patience sport. Seating is rough. Not enough tables. People circling like hawks scouting a field mouse. Feels like musical chairs but with falafel. Soda machine was heartbreak. Flat. Weak. Borderline sad. No bubbles. No joy. Hydration through disappointment. Please fix. Parking is a war zone. The shopping center layout feels designed by someone who hates cars and possibly humans. The thing keeping me hopeful. The food is legitimately good. If they tighten operations and add seating this spot could crush. The concept is smart. The ingredients are fresh. The potential is huge. I will come back in a month or two to see if they find their rhythm. I am rooting for them. Mostly because I want that plate again.

Dani and all the staff were great! They greeted us and came around ensuring we had everything we needed. The environment feels Mediterranean and gives a calm, relaxing, fresh ambiance. The food was good. I'm would have liked a little more tzatziki sauce in my bowl but overall the most ingredients were fresh and chicken freshly grilled.

I'd been here several times years ago, and after coming back, I'm honestly wondering why I don't eat here more often. I ordered the chicken shawarma, a stuffed grape leaves platter, and hot tea. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. The chicken was well-seasoned, tender, and wrapped with the classic toppings, and the portion was fair for the price. Speaking of price, the value here is honestly hard to beat. The stuffed grape leaves platter came with hummus, tabbouleh, pita, and hot stuffed grape leaves. I had completely forgotten they serve them warm, and my brain needed a minute to recalibrate because I'm so used to cold dolmas everywhere else. Once I took a bite, though... yep. That's how they're supposed to taste. Soft, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I ended up adding some of the hummus and tabbouleh to my shawarma, which made an already great sandwich even better. The service was just as impressive as the food. My server was genuinely kind, gave me a few extra minutes when I couldn't decide, checked in without hovering, and even offered to package my hot tea to go when he noticed I was still working on it. (For the record, ordering an entire pot of tea for one person was an ambitious life choice on my part.) The dining room isn't huge, and there's also a small market attached, which adds to the charm. This place reminds me that consistency is underrated. Years later, I came back, and it was just as good as I remembered. Great food, great service, great value. Throughout the wait, we watched tables seated after us receive their food and leave while we were still waiting. The most frustrating part was the lack of communication. Rather than checking in or providing an update, our server was frequently visible chatting with coworkers and rolling silverware. When our food finally arrived, it was at best room temperature, making it seem like it had been sitting for quite a while before being brought to the table. We asked to speak with a manager, who said she would look into it, but never returned to follow up. That lack of acknowledgment or accountability was even more disappointing than the delay itself. We declined the offer of dessert because we needed to get the kids home, yet instead of bringing the check promptly, our server spent additional time clearing the table before finally processing our payment. As someone who has worked as a server, I understand that delays happen and kitchens get backed up. What makes the difference is communication, ownership, and making guests feel like their time matters. None of that happened here. It's unfortunate because we've had good experiences in the past, but this visit left us embarrassed that we chose this restaurant to host visiting family.
