The staff are extremely accommodating, but like a real Cantonese dim sum restaurant, you'll need to flag them down for service. We ordered the Iron Buddha (Tie Guan Yin) tea, and it's rare these days to find a place in the SGV still serving loose leaf tea in iron or steel pots. If you value good tea and quality dim sum like I do, I highly recommend driving out here as a local -- it's worth it. That said, the bussers kept missing our bowl once it filled up with bones, so I'm knocking service down to 3 stars. I don't want to come across as nitpicky about the food, but if you're in business or finance, you know consistency -- flavor, texture, presentation, temperature -- is what really costs money. Food was great! But for it to not be busy it took a long time to get a server's attention. They charge for hot tea and don't even ask what kind you want. I had to ask them to please switch it for something I wanted once I saw it was charged. Visited many times for dimsum but rarely for dinner. However, my partner and I were able to dine here for dinner with a reservation of 2 full tables in a private room. You can call in to request a reservation for large parties, if not, you can join the Yelp waitlist by the front lobby area. Parking - free in a sizeable indoor parking garage to the left of the restaurant. When full, there's also street parking. Service here is pretty standard when it comes to your typical Chinese restaurant. You'll have staff designated to your area and they're pretty quick with refilling teapots and any requests. As for ordering, there's a QR code to browse the menu and order. Chinese and English are available so there shouldn't be any problems. Pictures are provided as well through the menu which is a nice plus. Food came out pretty fast, and since we were a 2 table party, each table took turns getting their dishes first. Seafood here is a great option, portions are huge for most dishes, making it perfect to share. My favorite among the dishes is certainly the Walnut Shrimp. It's a classic amongst plenty of Chinese restaurants and Lunasia is up there when it comes to quality. I was craving dim sum at 2pm, but my go-to place stops serving at 3pm. So, I decided on Lunasia as their dim sim is made to order. This place looks like a standard dim sum/Chinese restaurant. It's smaller in size but have private rooms. First off, the ordering system is confusing. They have QR codes and a menu sheet to place your order. Also, the English translation is a little lacking on their order sheet. Their food is mediocre and the price for their mediocre food was a little higher. Which would have been okay if the quality and taste was on point. We ordered a bunch of food and it came out pretty slow. We were waiting for each item one by one and my hangry-ness kicked in. Came here on a slow afternoon so we were seated immediately. The interior is snug with tables and chairs super close to one another. The food was pretty good, the unique thing about this place's dim sum is that some of the items are larger than you would see in other dim sum places. I was really missing dim sum ever since moving to SD, so when I was in town I made sure to stop by Lunasia for some much needed dim sum. Since we had our furbaby we had to get it to go. I ordered through the app and it was ready by the scheduled pick up time. You'll see live fish and lobsters in the tank when you walk in, so you know that the food is fresh! We saw them bring over a live lobster to a table for a family to select for dinner. Speaking of food, this place has it all! I am very limited with what I can eat, so I didn't eat as much as others. I thought that the jellyfish were noodles reminiscent of pad Thai noodles, but I was wrong. It was my first time trying jellyfish. So,I moved on to the shrimp and buns. Those were great! This was actually quite a bit of food, and might be enough on its own for two people if not starving. All of it tasted great.
