I have not been to this place since long time ago. Parking structure is located in the back of the restaurant. Servers were very friendly and service was fast! We were seated promptly. Came here on a slow afternoon so we were seated immediately. The interior is snug with tables and chairs super close to one another. The food was pretty good, the unique thing about this place's dim sum is that some of the items are larger than you would see in other dim sum places. Example: if you'd ever had pork shumai or hargow, their usual size is about 1 inch in diameter, this place's is pretty much double that. Worth checking out! Visited many times for dimsum but rarely for dinner. However, my partner and I were able to dine here for dinner with a reservation of 2 full tables in a private room. You can call in to request a reservation for large parties, if not, you can join the Yelp waitlist by the front lobby area. Parking - free in a sizeable indoor parking garage to the left of the restaurant. When full, there's also street parking. Service here is pretty standard when it comes to your typical Chinese restaurant. You'll have staff designated to your area and they're pretty quick with refilling teapots and any requests. As for ordering, there's a QR code to browse the menu and order. Chinese and English are available so there shouldn't be any problems. Pictures are provided as well through the menu which is a nice plus. Food came out pretty fast, and since we were a 2 table party, each table took turns getting their dishes first. Seafood here is a great option, portions are huge for most dishes, making it perfect to share. My favorite among the dishes is certainly the Walnut Shrimp. It's a classic amongst plenty of Chinese restaurants and Lunasia is up there when it comes to quality. First dimsum place that I've tried in SoCal and definitely some hit or miss dishes out of the ones that I ordered. Everything can be ordered through your phone online, with English/Chinese and photos on the menu. Out of everything that I ordered, my favorite dishes were probably the spinach and shrimp dumplings as well as the XO sauce fried turnip cakes. It was flavored really well. All the dishes came out fairly fast so I didn't feel like I had to wait compared to some other places that I've been to. I will say that I feel like the portions are on the smaller side for the price. My new favorite local restaurant. It has all my favorite dishes with a wide variety menu. Where can you get hot, cook-to-order, all-day dim sum! There's TVs, alcohol available, and small banquet rooms for special occasions. Service is polite and quick. Reservations can be made with Open Table. I was craving dim sum at 2pm, but my go-to place stops serving at 3pm. So, I decided on Lunasia as their dim sim is made to order. This place looks like a standard dim sum/Chinese restaurant. It's smaller in size but have private rooms. First off, the ordering system is confusing. They have QR codes and a menu sheet to place your order. Also, the English translation is a little lacking on their order sheet. Their food is mediocre and the price for their mediocre food was a little higher. Which would have been okay if the quality and taste was on point. We ordered a bunch of food and it came out pretty slow. We were waiting for each item one by one and my hangry-ness kicked in. Overall would describe this as a corporate dim sum experience - AKA expect prices to be high, and to be charged by the person for tea as well as for sauce (they provide soy sauce and Sriracha at the table without charge). The quality of the food was good, and the size of each dim sum was larger than typical (especially the shrimp dishes - huge!). Service was standard - we walked in and were seated right away during a weekend lunch (we did have a reservation but they didn't even ask us about that), ordered via QR code, and flagged down a server if we needed anything. I was really missing dim sum ever since moving to SD, so when I was in town I made sure to stop by Lunasia for some much needed dim sum. Since we had our furbaby we had to get it to go. I ordered through the app and it was ready by the scheduled pick up time. We were invited to dinner at Lunasia Dimsum House to celebrate a 30 year wedding anniversary. This was our first time at this restaurant, so everything was new to me. The restaurant itself is located on a busy street, in a small shopping center. Free parking is available in the garage and there's enough to accommodate patrons of the adjacent businesses. The restaurant itself is small and is great for an intimate dining experience with friends and family. It's very clean inside and the staff is very welcoming. You'll see live fish and lobsters in the tank when you walk in, so you know that the food is fresh! We saw them bring over a live lobster to a table for a family to select for dinner. Speaking of food, this place has it all! I am very limited with what I can eat, so I didn't eat as much as others. I thought that the jellyfish were noodles reminiscent of pad Thai noodles, but I was wrong. It was my first time trying jellyfish. So,I moved on to the shrimp and buns. Those were great! I ended up here when friend didn't want to go to the place we were planning on across the street for dinner. We ended up here and while we mostly enjoyed the food, it was $$. I will say their in house XO sauce was pretty tasty, it was $1.50 for a small little sauce cup. Like with most other dim sum places these days, no push carts. Lunasia is a family favorite of ours, and we go several times a year for dinner. We love the dim sum, from the shrimp hargow to siumai to fried shrimp and turnip rolls. And they have a phenomenal mapo tofu that has the perfect mouth numbing spice. Their beef chow fun is currently my favorite in SGV, when the strands of rice noodles unbroken and the beef cooked to tender perfection. Their only drawback is their fried seafood dishes, both fish and crab I believe, which every time we've been there has taken 40+ minutes to arrive, if at all. We often finish the entire meal before we finally give up and have the waiter remove it from our bill, since the cook hasn't even started to cook it yet. Lunasia's staff is relatively slow at the hostess stand, and we may never really get to eat their fried fish, but the rest of their dim sum and main courses are amazing and keep us coming back for more.
