Came here on a slow afternoon so we were seated immediately. The interior is snug with tables and chairs super close to one another. The food was pretty good, the unique thing about this place's dim sum is that some of the items are larger than you would see in other dim sum places. First dimsum place that I've tried in SoCal and definitely some hit or miss dishes out of the ones that I ordered. Everything can be ordered through your phone online, with English/Chinese and photos on the menu. Out of everything that I ordered, my favorite dishes were probably the spinach and shrimp dumplings as well as the XO sauce fried turnip cakes. It was flavored really well. All the dishes came out fairly fast so I didn't feel like I had to wait compared to some other places that I've been to. I will say that I feel like the portions are on the smaller side for the price. Visited many times for dimsum but rarely for dinner. However, my partner and I were able to dine here for dinner with a reservation of 2 full tables in a private room. You can call in to request a reservation for large parties, if not, you can join the Yelp waitlist by the front lobby area. Parking - free in a sizeable indoor parking garage to the left of the restaurant. When full, there's also street parking. Service here is pretty standard when it comes to your typical Chinese restaurant. You'll have staff designated to your area and they're pretty quick with refilling teapots and any requests. As for ordering, there's a QR code to browse the menu and order. Chinese and English are available so there shouldn't be any problems. Pictures are provided as well through the menu which is a nice plus. Food came out pretty fast, and since we were a 2 table party, each table took turns getting their dishes first. Seafood here is a great option, portions are huge for most dishes, making it perfect to share. My favorite among the dishes is certainly the Walnut Shrimp. It's a classic amongst plenty of Chinese restaurants and Lunasia is up there when it comes to quality. Overall, a decent experience, been here plenty of times for dimsum and it's always quick and quality food. Dinner was decent but nothing too over the top. I was craving dim sum at 2pm, but my go-to place stops serving at 3pm. So, I decided on Lunasia as their dim sim is made to order. This place looks like a standard dim sum/Chinese restaurant. It's smaller in size but have private rooms. First off, the ordering system is confusing. They have QR codes and a menu sheet to place your order. Also, the English translation is a little lacking on their order sheet. Their food is mediocre and the price for their mediocre food was a little higher. Which would have been okay if the quality and taste was on point. We ordered a bunch of food and it came out pretty slow. We were waiting for each item one by one and my hangry-ness kicked in. Overall, the food was underwhelming considering that they received a Michelin bib gourmand in 2025. TBH, I really don't know how this establishment got on the list. Overall would describe this as a corporate dim sum experience - AKA expect prices to be high, and to be charged by the person for tea as well as for sauce (they provide soy sauce and Sriracha at the table without charge). The quality of the food was good, and the size of each dim sum was larger than typical (especially the shrimp dishes - huge!). Service was standard - we walked in and were seated right away during a weekend lunch (we did have a reservation but they didn't even ask us about that), ordered via QR code, and flagged down a server if we needed anything. I was really missing dim sum ever since moving to SD, so when I was in town I made sure to stop by Lunasia for some much needed dim sum. Since we had our furbaby we had to get it to go. I ordered through the app and it was ready by the scheduled pick up time. We were invited to dinner at Lunasia Dimsum House to celebrate a 30 year wedding anniversary. This was our first time at this restaurant, so everything was new to me. The restaurant itself is small and is great for an intimate dining experience with friends and family. It's very clean inside and the staff is very welcoming. You'll see live fish and lobsters in the tank when you walk in, so you know that the food is fresh! We saw them bring over a live lobster to a table for a family to select for dinner. Speaking of food, this place has it all! I am very limited with what I can eat, so I didn't eat as much as others. I thought that the jellyfish were noodles reminiscent of pad Thai noodles, but I was wrong. It was my first time trying jellyfish. So,I moved on to the shrimp and buns. Those were great! Everyone really enjoyed their meal! Even though I was limited with what I could eat, I still enjoyed the company of friends and family. So basically, the ambiance was great and what I ate was good. Lunasia is a family favorite of ours, and we go several times a year for dinner. We love the dim sum, from the shrimp hargow to siumai to fried shrimp and turnip rolls. And they have a phenomenal mapo tofu that has the perfect mouth numbing spice. Their beef chow fun is currently my favorite in SGV, when the strands of rice noodles unbroken and the beef cooked to tender perfection. Their only drawback is their fried seafood dishes, both fish and crab I believe, which every time we've been there has taken 40+ minutes to arrive, if at all. We often finish the entire meal before we finally give up and have the waiter remove it from our bill, since the cook hasn't even started to cook it yet. Lunasia's staff is relatively slow at the hostess stand, and we may never really get to eat their fried fish, but the rest of their dim sum and main courses are amazing and keep us coming back for more. Happy to say Lunasia did meet that expectation! For parking, they have a structure in the back, which is shared with other businesses as well. We first started waiting around 11 AM through waitlist via Yelp. We had a party of 8, so you do need to advise them when first getting there. The wait ended up being quicker than we expected, but our whole party wasn't here yet. They allowed to push us down the list until everyone was there. We forgot seated around noon. Once seated, we were happy to hear that ordering was done through a QR code. It had pictures and everything was in English as well. It's a good idea to have one designated person to order, so you avoid having repeat dishes. Once you confirm it, they will bring out a physical paper to leave at the table, which you can also use to double check. Our table got a lot of dishes such as the pineapple bun, steamed pork bun, har gow, siu mai, pork belly, etc. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of everything because we were so hungry LOL. The pineapple bun was sweet on the outside and salty on the inside since it had pork. The siu mai were probably one of the largest I've seen, so careful how many you order! No traditional carts and ladies calling you pretty/cute and if you would like to try this and that. We order Har gow 3.5/5- huge chunks of shrimp inside, you can still see shrimp and not all minced and mushed. Sui Mai regular 3.5/5 they had an option with truffle or caviar and more of course. To be fair, my boyfriend said the quality declined to his prior visits, so maybe there was a time when it was good, but not anymore. On our way over, I saw there was a 20-40minute wait for 2 people so I hopped onto the waitlist to get in line. It worked out perfectly for us because I received a text that our table was ready right when we were pulling up to park. Staff comes by to ask about your tea selection, and that's the extent of their service. They give you a QR code to scan and you order from your phones. The system isn't very user friendly and you'll have to dig through for the items you want. I pesonally perfer the tranditional carts. And food comes our randomly whenever it's ready so no added value for me on pacing in ordering digitally. We got the Har Gow ($7.27), ShuMai ($7.28), Spare Ribs ($6.28), Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll ($8.28), Mixed Pork Puff ($6.28), Pan Fried Turnip Cake ($6.28), Sesame Ball ($6.28), and Macao Style Egg Custard ($6.28). So pricey for a mediocre meal. Not to mention their sketch receipt wasn't even itemized so I'me not sure if I was charged correctly. As we were leaving I saw a bunch of families waiting to eat here.
