    Shrimp roll was good
    Life's An Adventure X.

The porridge was too runny. The shrimp roll was food, but shrimp tasted like it's been frozen for awhile. Because it's a small business and family run, it's alright. But not the hype that Yelp is giving the rating at. Cash only.

Good , I like the rice noodles rolls. I eating in here more than 7 years. I like egg noodles rolls, noodles soup.

Stopped by this place after we went to delicious food corner and couldn't find a parking spot. I've been to my fair share of Hong Kong cafe restaurants. The experience here was bad. There was little to no service. When we walked inside the restaurant, there was no greeting. We dined in and sat down at a table. Menus were being given to us with no word. No "hello" We ordered green onion pancake, fried potstickers, 豬肉腸粉加蛋 and the soy sauce noodles. When the food arrived, we were in shock they were still using styrofoam plates and utensils. Food did not look appetizing and the soy sauce noodles were not crispy like delicious food corner. The green onion pancake looks like the frozen kind you can get at 99 ranch market. It was chewy but only gave a few pieces on a super tiny plate. For the portion, it did not meet the expectations compared to the price we paid. I believe it was $5-$6 for a small plate of onion pancake. I would not come back again.

CASH ONLY! This place is super tiny and run by husband and wife. Looks like they had to bring their daughter/grand daughter to work today. With that said, it's understandable for service to be slow since it's only then. Yes they use styrofoam plates to serve for dine in. If you are offended by the waste, go somewhere else! It's probably a cost savings decision for the owners not to hire a dishwasher. The rice noodle rolls were evening I thought they were gonna be. Personally I prefer the shrimp over the BBQ pork. Could be better if they added like yellow chives or something but still yummy. Price has gone up within the last couple years.

3.5 stars - It was very quiet as we were the only people there for lunch. Two TV screens covering tennis & soccer. The food was overall good. I found the beef wonton soup to be somewhat light in taste needing some more flavor, salt and spice. Food came out hot. Service was nice. Our server spoke Chinese and English. The place is clean. At times I could smelled a hint of cigarette smoke in the air that affected my overall experience,...(even with the front door closed, IDK. ) Parking was adequate. I hope more customers come to keep them in business. I would explore other things on the menu if I were to return.

Looking for a carb overload that you won't regret? You've come to the right place. Here's what we got: - BBQ pork rice noodle roll ($4.50) add egg ($1): 5/5 - Beef rice noodle roll add egg: 5/5 - Shrimp rice noodle roll: 4/5 - Beef chow fun ($9.95): 4/5 - BBQ pork & wonton noodles ($8.75): 4/5 "E&J YUMMY Kitchen" lives up to its name! Everything tasted fresh and it's so cheap. Def would recommend adding egg to the rice noodle rolls. Adds more ~dimension~ and fills you up for longer. My fave of the rice rolls was the BBQ pork. I am craving these now I hate myself!

I'll just leave a picture of the shrimp noodle roll on here and you can be the judge as to why I gave this place 1 star. It looks how it tastes.

For pick up: On a Friday morning in August, I was craving for wonton noodle soup and beef rice noodle soup. I seen the sign open and parked in front. I ordered both wonton noodle soup and beef rice noodle roll in Cantonese/English $11.22. The wait is 10-15min wait. I asked about their new hours and it's the owner son says 9-6. Cash only. I took it home to eat. It taste like how I remember before cov19. The wontons are good size w/ 4-5 pieces with pieces gai lan. The beef rice noodle is good and melts in my mouth. The way they make is Hong Kong style. Egg on top is optional. They also make chow mein or chow fun or appetizers. Nice staff.

Thankful they are open for to-go during this covid pandemic! They have delicious rice rolls! I ordered noodles and porridge as well but have yet to try it yet as I'm trying to save it to eat throughout the week. In regards to the rice rolls, they're definitely a must try! It's simple, yet so delicious - great comfort food. There are many protein options to choose from and you can choose to include egg in it. I ordered one with shrimp and one with pork - both including egg. The soy sauce complimented every bite of the rice roll. The texture of it was silky and smooth. Hope they are able to make it through this pandemic! Would love to go back again. Worker was friendly and made sure we had all the sauces we wanted to go with our food.

I went and ordered pickup today (04/18/2020) and I had the worst experience ever. I walk in and menu in is to the left side entrance. The girl gives me a little paper to write down my order. Then she takes the same paper and rewrite it in chinese for the chefs to understand. She could have taken my order instead. I pay and they told me it will be ready in 10 minutes and to wait outside. 10 minutes later, it's not done yet. "It'll be done in a few more minutes, I'll let you know" Another 10 minutes later I walk in and asked again "is it ready yet?""Oh yes, it's ready. I tried looking for you outside but didn't see anyone" (I was staring at the entrance the entire time I was waiting outside and I never saw anyone come out to "look" for me) I go home and see they did an extremely poor job of packaging my food. I ordered 2 orders of beef brisket ho fun noodle soup and 2 century egg and lean meat porridge. The lids for both porridge was cracked and the porridge was spilling over the cracked lid. Things they can do better during COVID-19 pickups. 1. Have hand sanitizer available by the menus. 2. They should take the order instead of me writing it down (who knows how many people have touched the pen before me) and they have to rewrite it in Chinese. 3. When packaging food in one plastic bag with containers stacking on top of each other, they should put a cardboard on top to improve stability of the containers. Anyways, I don't see myself coming back for their comfort food anytime soon. The only measure they taken was to wearing a mask but as a customer they did not provide hand sanitizer or provide good customer service even if they were already lacking in that department.

    Salty Chicken Feet

Came here on Saturday noon time and there was no wait. The cashier lady greeted us cordially. It's a mom-and-pop shop and it isn't too big of a place. We ordered the chicken feet for appetizer. For entrees we got the steamed rice roll with egg and BBQ pork and the wonton pork legs noodles. The chicken feet was a cold appetizer and they were kind of hard. They can afford a bit more time to cook the feet. The steamed rice rolls were not the most silky or smoothest ones that we've had, but for the price it was, there was a fair amount of BBQ pork. It was standard. The noodles came in a moderately large bowl. The broth was hot which is ALWAYS a plus. Noodles with lukewarm broth is kind of nasty anyways. There were 5 pieces of wonton and 4 pieces of pork legs. The noodles were not broken, so that's good. The wontons were standard, fairly meaty. The pork legs were not over cooked because they were not super soft or soggy. The staff were very friendly throughout our visit. For a relatively quick bite with super affordable prices, I'd recommend this spot of Cantonese "street foods".

small family restaurant with decent food located inside a strip mall, this place looks small but actually have some tables inside. The staff are all family so you can tell they make all the food ingredients themselves. The food taste is not bad. Pretty professional. The rice rolls, the congee, and the noodles all taste pretty good. Only downside are the drinks, which taste blend. Seems kind of weird because you would think the drinks are much easier to make compared to more complex dishes like rice rolls. Inside is pretty clean. Staff are ok friendly. Price is reasonable. Portions are good. Overall, a good place to visit for some quick noodles!

Elizabeth's Star Rating System 1 star = Terrible, would not recommend, will tell family and friends to avoid 2 stars = I won't be back but you might enjoy it 3 stars = I'll be back eventually 4 stars = I'll definitely be back 5 stars = I'm telling my friends and family about this place! E&J makes the best Cantonese style rice rolls! My favorite is the shrimp and I always add an egg. Their pork rice roll and porridges are good too. Their Beef Stew is so good too. I always ask for more sauce simple, home-style food. Their lemon ice tea reminds me so much of Hong Kong, down to the size. Americans may think it is too small but this is the norm outside of the US. I've been a loyal fan for years since this little HK Café opened, highly recommend. P.S. Yelp is wrong on their business hours. They are closed every Wednesday. I learned this the hard way

I asked for extra vegetables with the kung pao chicken, and they added them without charging extra. Both dishes were really good. On my most recent visit, we dined in and ordered the mixed vegetables, orange chicken, and wonton noodle soup with beef brisket. We've had the wontons before, and they're always good and taste authentic. The beef brisket was tender, the wontons were delicious, and they put plenty of fresh bok choy. It was our first time trying the mixed vegetables and orange chicken. The vegetables were fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The dish also included pieces of Chinese sausage and squid. The orange chicken was sliced very thin, and the batter was extra crispy. We enjoyed it, but it's different from the typical orange chicken you'd find at most Chinese fast food restaurants. The customer service is really good here. At the end of our meal, we were offered a complimentary dessert, which was a sweet soup made with sweet potato and egg. It was good and reminded me of a sweet version of egg drop soup.

They are located next to the Jade Plaza on Garvey Ave in Monterey Park. I parked in the plaza's parking lot, but I'm not 100% sure if they truly are part of the plaza. They may not be. Please read signages. Limited street parking. Upon entry, the lady behind the counter was attending to another customer. When it was my turn, she took my order quickly. She seemed friendly, but not the most smiliest. They are known for their Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup so I got one of them. I saw Preserved Egg with Shredded Pork Congee so I had to get it, too. Lastly, I noticed another customer with an order of Black Sesame Paste... must get an order of that because I love black sesame. I decided to dine-in instead of take-out. This place isn't huge at all. It's a mom and pop whole in the wall very casual establishment with about 4 tables and some chairs. Definitely not a spot for large parties. Now to the food... Shrimp wonton noodles was quite authentic and deliciously good. Broth was light and clean without the msg flavor. Noodles were crisp and had a bouncy texture to it. WOW, wontons were the best! Good amount of quality pork and shrimp filling that was quite flavorfully seasoned. Loved it! Definitely recommend to all wonton egg noodle connoisseurs! Just one itty bitty gripe, portion was small for the price of almost $12. I felt I only got a few good bites from the bowl. I would still get it again though. I'm a sucker for great eats regardless of price LOL. Congee with tasty shredded pork and slightly salted preserved eggs was warm and savory with a soft silky texture and mild comforting flavor. I haven't had such an authentic congee in such a very long time. This is must get every time! It was worth the almost $10. I should have ordered one to-go... for sure next time. For the black sesame paste, this one was a bit of a disappointment. It was cold and not hot. Liquid was very thin. I'm used to thick black sesame. Taste was horrible. It was like eating expired black sesame grains. Did not like it at all. Will not get again. I almost tossed the whole thing away, but ended up adding some pre-packaged flavorful black sesame paste I had at my home pantry to thicken it. Afterwards, it tasted more decent like black sesame should taste. Will I be back? Yes, I'll be back for the wonton noodles and congee plus to try their other authentic Chinese dishes. They sell frozen wontons and dumplings, too. I will have to buy a bag or two of them next time. Thanks Hong Coffee & Bakery!

Restaurant was not busy at the time, our food came out pretty quickly. At the end of the meal, they offered to help pack our leftover food along with sauce, superior service. Food 5/5 -Deep fried salted pig feet, this is a MUST get. I cannot emphasize enough how well executed this dish was, the pig feet came deboned. Skin was thin, crispy but still had a delicate layer of gelatinous fat under that's so addicting and great pairing with the complimentary pot of white rice. The meat was so tender and flavorful, the seasoning is not overwhelming but tasteful enough that keeps you wanting to go back for more. Great portion for sharing, however you may not want to share and just keep it all for yourself. -Salted fish and garlic chicken fried rice, rice was fragrant with the delicate saltiness from the dry aged salted fish. The dish is a combination of fine bits and pieces of fish, chicken and notable amount of ginger. I'm usually not a fan of ginger but I actually liked it for this dish, brought a comfortable level of sharpness to it. But if you really hate ginger, you might want to avoid as they're really fine pieces and would be impossible to avoid. -Sliced beef with Chinese broccoli, beef was tender and full of the wok flame flavor, vegetables were fresh and crunchy, no notes. Ambiance 5/5 -Restaurant was super quiet, I really liked how calm it was in there. Mostly comfortable booths around the perimeter and tables were all separated by clear dividers. My favorite was the bathroom's decor, it felt like an early 90s metal/futuristic ocean theme.

First, my favorite thing about this place is how proactive they are about refilling your iced tea. Love it. Their food is really good. They have some dishes that others in their category (e.g., Kim Tar, Newport, Boston Lobster) don't have, and most everything we've eaten was pretty good. It doesn't take long for the food to come out, though they are stingier than you'd expect when it comes to the amount of white rice given. Of the unique offerings, my kids' favorite is probably the bubble waffles, which they give out complimentary at the end of the meal. The weird thing though is between the two visits, I learned they give the same amount -- one -- whether the dining group has 6 people or 12 people. Stingy. Price-wise, they are definitely at the top end of their category. I don't think it's close to being worth it especially given the quality of their competition, but to each his own I guess. I do like that you can make reservations here, and parking is super easy.

Dim sum is always a win, but there's something really hearty and classic about a good Hong Kong style breakfast. Though Delicious Food Corner is one of many in a chain, this specific location in Montebello is hands down one of the best Hong Kong breakfasts I've ever had. It's a meal I continue to return to, even if I've had the same dish multiple times. Let me tell you about it. Firstly, the advice I'd give you is try to come here before 11:30 AM. Once that time hits the line will start forming and this small restaurant will unfortunately have you wait while you smell all the delicious food this place has to offer. I, for one, hate waiting, especially when I know how delicious the meal will be so I try to arrive before the morning/afternoon rush begins. When you arrive you have to try the Hong Kong breakfast combo. It comes with eggs, hash brown, toast, and your choice of protein. Though the chicken steak is a classic and popular choice, I go for the pork chop. They are two perfectly fried pork chops coming with a crispy panko exterior that is light with almost no oily residue or flavor. The crunch of the panko is a symphonic melody accompanying the savory flavors with each bite. Pair it with a jammy, buttery toast and you have a perfect combo of sweet and savory. Their dim sum selection isn't extensive but comes with all the classics like shumai, har gow, char siu buns, pineapple buns, and rice noodles with beef. All of them come fresh and somehow taste even better when accompanied with their unlimited milk tea or iced lemon tea. Simple cuisine elevated and executed masterfully. Whenever I'm in the SGV area and I want Hong Kong breakfast this is the place I think of every time. Though I've only started coming here in the past three months I'll never say no to eating at Delicious Food Corner when invited. Invite me out!

However, personally, I was not a fan because it's just too much work to break down the crab just for a little bit of meat. My favorite that night was probably the fried tofu. They definitely did that very well. We also got a lot of other dishes like the clay pot rice, chicken, clams, seafood crispy noodles, and other foods I can't remember. Overall, just okay for me. I don't think I would necessarily come back.

My younger son and I are their die hard fans of their jumbo size mix grill platter, it is always wholesome, tasty and irresistible taste that hit the spot, paired with their iced lemon tea made my day!! Service at JJ is decent and they can get very busy during lunch and dinner time. We also ordered and tried their Singerpore style turnip cake, man the flavor profile is so good, the curry flavor with the flavoring dried ingredients combined together for the ah ha moment why this is one of their best seller!! I recommend this place if you love HK style cafe

Inside was spacious and had plenty of seating. Service could use some improvement in terms of friendliness and attentiveness. Lunch special was such a good deal! All the dishes are under $20 and there was a good variety of dishes. It's nice that it's daily 11am-5pm and it comes with either rice or spaghetti and coffee or tea (with one refill!). Got the Grilled Pork Chop & Chicken Steak ($14.25) with mushroom sauce. Love that there are a nice variety of sauces to choose from - black pepper, mushroom, onion, garlic, spicy garlic, or teriyaki! The pork chop and chicken steak were huge and very crispy. It was packed with flavor and not too salty or greasy. The meat was very tender and juicy. I was very impressed with the portion and how delicious it was! The complimentary Iced Tea was very refreshing but slightly too sweet but it was nice that it came with a free refill! Overall, I really enjoyed the food and would definitely recommend and return!

They have a new menu and we ordered the Minced Pork & Egg Rice. This is the non-gravy/sauce version like some local restaurants are starting to do. Break the runny egg yolk and mix everything together. It was pretty good. We also ordered the pan fried turnip cake which is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's better than many dim sum restaurant versions. Also got their beef rice roll again. Their rice rolls are always a hit. Don't forget to order their HK lemon iced tea on the side. It pairs well with everything especially on a hot summer day. Good air conditioning. Lots of indoor seating. Great service. Highly recommend!

I've known of Steam Fresh for a while, but saw they recently started a brunch specials menu. So I decided to come here to try their brunch. I came with family. Steam Fresh is a small restaurant but the AC is good and the staff are super friendly. The restaurant is clean. I ended up getting two breakfast specials, a noodle soup with eggs and spam with a side of zhongzi, also got congee with turnip cake. We also ordered a steamed rice with Chinese sausage and chicken. Both breakfast specials came with iced lemon tea which was awesome. The steamed rice was quite tasty. My favorite dish was probably the zhongzi which is like a Chinese tamale. It was very well seasoned and the pork was flavorful. Overall solid brunch restaurant in San Gabriel Valley.

Upon entering, the cafe was getting warm and stuffy, making it slightly uncomfortable. The restaurant was much more comfortable when the air conditioner kicked on. Opted for the beef brisket wonton noodle soup. The portions were gigantic, especially the generous portions of noodles. The wontons were flavorful and the beef brisket was tender. The hot milk was decent too. Their fried chicken wings are a perfect snack for long-haul trips! Service by the staff was cordial. ~$28/head after tax and gratuity for breakfast with tons of leftovers!

The decor is just perfect. I'm not sure if this is a sister restaurant to the other Hong Kong Cafe on Atlantic, but it seems like it as decor, plates, and majority of menu items are the same. We came early morning, so the place was empty and service was quick. Of course we got to start with some drinks. We ordered the Lemon tea and Milk tea. Great drink options that honestly pair really good with any of the menu items. It was breakfast time so we had to order the pineapple "bo law" baos. They add butter in it to make it a bit more creamier and savory, but you can definitely request without it if you'd like! For the main dishes, we ordered the congee with preserved duck egg and pork, and the Austrailian Beef friend rice. The rich and earthy congee is a must for the cooler weather and is such a good meal to order especially on your sick days The fried rice was amazinggg with how fluffy the rice was with the smokiness of the beef -- having the sunny side egg on top was ‍ Not included in today's meal is their green onion chicken rice. All I have to say is that it's gas. I think they ran out of chicken this time, but definitely recommend it because it's simple and delicious af. Absolutely love and recommend this place ‍
