This is a very elegant dim sum spot in Pasadena, though the service was unfortunately slow, likely due to being understaffed. We tried a variety of dim sum, and each dish brought something unique to the table. A few standout items were definitely the Mongolian beef and the radish pancake. However, the green beans lacked the strong garlic flavor I was expecting, and the egg tart felt a bit heavy rather than light and crispy.

I'm thinking 3.75 rounded up to 4 stars. The new restaurant is beautiful. Private rooms can be reserved for small parties on one wall and larger parties on the left wall. There is a stage with a beautiful Steinway Grand Piano that is self/playing it can be played. The stage has enough room for a 5 man band comfortably. Very classy setting. The restaurant also offers 90 minutes of free parking with validation and is located next to the restaurant. We parked three blocks away and discovered when we got to the restaurant that they offer parking. They also take reservations at the rebranded restaurant. We ordered Sui Mai, Har Gow, Crispy Baked BBQ Buns, String Beans with fried garlic, Spicy Wonton, Pork and Rice Fried Puffed ball, Rice Noodles with Shrimp and a Pan Fried Noodles with Beef . All of the food was very fresh, string beans is a large serving so no need to double up, probably easily serves 8 people. If you love shrimp, most of the dumplings have large fresh pieces in them. Loved light slightly chewy bbq pork buns and the slightly crispy green beans. The puffed dumpling was light, chewy and good flavor. The chow mein was interesting, the noodles clumped together a little and the gravy hints of a strong bell pepper flavor. We will probably try the regular chow mein or fried rice next trip. All of the dumplings and rice roll were good. New location and amenities make this location (parking, reservations, location) better than the old location. The service was impeccable. Make a reservation and bring your family and/or friends for good room. The service is efficient so you can easily get in and out under 90 minutes without feeling rushed.

I love Lunasia! But I also miss the "old" Lunasia. Lunasia Signature is the more upscale version of our beloved Lunasia originally on Colorado boulevard. The menu here seems to have downsized as I believe there are less food items. It was a bit sad not to see some old favorites. Food and quality is the same. There was a long wait when we walked in on a Sunday around lunch time. Service was also a bit slow considering it's a weekend.

There is some construction going in the front, so parking is not as convenient. We had a private room/area, to celebrate my BF's grandmother for Mother's Day. We ordered a variety of dishes and all the portions were big. Overall, service was fine and all the dishes we had were good.

Great food, great atmosphere. Will be back for sure. This place has summer live band. Live it.

Stopped by for a Mother's Day meal! Lots of food, great presentation. There's construction now on Colorado and Lake but still has an accessible door off Colorado. (lake entrance has stairs). We made reservations and it was pretty busy but there were lots of tables as well as private rooms. We got a selection of dim sum including siu mai, har gow, sticky rice, garlic noodles, rice noodles, and the assorted bbq platter. All foods looked and tasted great. We enjoyed the crispy pork belly and the sauces with the dim sum. Extra sauces cost extra but our meal came with sauces included. It was nice inside, and there is even a grand piano as well.

Visited this spot on a busy Sunday afternoon, and it was much better than what some of the other reviews were mentioning! I really liked the complimentary tea (really helped with the digestion) and the fact that sauce came with each dim sum order. We didn't know it was going to come with sauce, so we ordered an extra sauce platter, which honestly I don't think was necessary. Despite being super busy, service was nice and fast. Our first orders of food came out within 5-10min of us sitting down, and the waiter checked on us a good amount of times. We got the jumbo har kow, jumbo shumai, xiao long bao, rice puff, and rice rolls. My favorite was definitely the jumbo har kow--that alone was enough to fill us up! The restaurant itself too is beautiful with lots of natural lighting and chatter. Definitely a family gathering spot. If you go, make sure to make a reservation!

Comfortable seating area, nice ambience and good service. Food was standard for 626 dim sum but in this neck of the woods, I guess it's a plus. Overall enjoyed the dishes. Wasn't impressed with their ma la har gow, personally prefer the original. Valet is $10 or walk a bit with street parking.

We came here on a Sunday night for dinner and made a reservation for 8pm. This is Lunasia's new Chinese food fine-dining concept featuring a small menu for all day dim-sum, and classic Cantonese cuisine. We were seated for a good fifteen minutes until we got service. There weren't that many servers on the floor even though the resturant was 80% full. We later learned that management had let most of the wait staff go once 8pm arrived. I had to flag down servers, waiters, waitresses, really anyone I could see to order food, for water refills, to get the bill..etc. There was a lack of waitstaff. They should have kept a couple more servers around. When we did get service, the staff were very nice and helpful. Ok, now onto the food. We ordered the following: 1. Filet mignon 5/5 - savory, moist and simply divine! A must order. 2. Egg Tofu with pea sprouts: 4/5 - a bit plain but I am glad at least it wasn't oily 3. Pan-fried crab bao: 5/5 - there was a nice sesame coating at the bottom - gave this bao a nice crunch and texture beyond the crispy bottom. So good. 4. Pork soup dumplings (XLB) - 4.5/5 - pretty good 5. Fried calamari - 3/5 over-fried and tasted greasy 6. Mango pudding - 4/5 just ok. 7. Pineapple bao - 3.5/5 (there were actual pieces of pineapple fillings inside the bao - but I am not sure it worked. I like the original better) Ambiance is classy, modern, and elegant. There was a self-playing piano and a pond inside the restaurant to provide a more elevated Chinese fine-ding experince. What more could you ask for? The front door is super heavy, and parking may be a challenge. I was able to find street parking since it was a Sunday night. I am glad we went and tried it!

We love dumplings and we love fast service, so this place is always a win for us. It's our go-to spot and always worth the drive. They recently turned the restaurant into more of a fine dining experience, which I was a little bummed about because we loved the old location, but the food is still amazing. If you want to sit in the private booths, definitely make a reservation ahead of time. It's a great spot for a family outing or a date night.

    Honey Walnut Shrimp
    Ali H.

Always saw a line here, so I decided to give it a try instead of Din Tai Fung. Overall, it was okay but nothing really stood out. The cucumber salad was literally sliced cucumbers with a little sauce on top, and at $12 a bit overpriced. The honey walnut shrimp was definitely the highlight, and I enjoyed the tea--it paired well with the meal. The staff was also friendly and welcoming. For me, it's probably a one-time visit.

Good fish balls and watercress soup. The veggies can be cut shorter though to eat easier.

Spacious restaurant with a neat interior and a grand piano. Plenty of booth seatings with dividers as well as table seating. You have most of your tasty Lunasia dim sum offerings like huge shrimp pork siu mai, bouncy rice rolls, and taro cake. There are also options for bigger entree style dishes like the stir fried eggplants and fish ball watercress soup. The service still needs to be improved as they didn't check in on us, and we had to ask for bowls and spoons that didn't just arrive with a large pot of soup. Parking is not that convenient. It's a block or so away in a lot labeled 2 N Lake. You scan a QR code which sends a text to open the gate. Then you get a code from Lunasia that validates parking to $5.99. If you don't want to input all your credit card info, you can scan the code at exit to do Apple Pay. Later they will have valet available as well I believe. Overall, this Lunasia spot is a higher end version in terms of decor and pricing of the standard Lunasia. Good dining environment with less noise in a beautiful bowstring truss ceiling building.

    Cindy S.

Checking out the new Lunasia Signature! The decor is gorgeous and much more elegant than the original--super clean with private (though not necessarily quiet) booths. Since it was Day 3 of their soft opening, I was impressed by the service; the staff moved over from the old location, so they already knew exactly what they were doing. Food-wise, we compared the classics: Beef Chow Fun, Jellyfish, and String Beans. We tried the Mala Har Gow from the new menu, but it didn't really land for us. Maybe I just wasn't feeling 100% that day, but the original location still holds the title for best flavor in my book. I'll be back to give the other new dishes a fair shot!

There's valet on the north side of the restaurant. And a parking lot as well. Both off of Lake Ave

When will the construction outside the restaurant be done? Thanks.

    Is there a waiting list?

Not when I went for dinner. I made a reservation online.

Overview: convenient kiosk ordering, tough parking, delicious dim sum…read more ---- We decided to order some dim sum to-go and got the classic offerings of siu mai, har gow, cheung fun, chicken feet, pan fried turnip cake, ginger beef tripe, black bean pork short ribs, and egg tarts. Everything, and I mean everything, was so delicious. One of the best dim sum places I've been to. The pricing of the items ranged from $8-$10 per item we ordered which is expensive but as a treat every once in a while and for the amount of time and effort that goes into making dim sum, it was worth it. I've tried making dim sum at home and it is so hard! Pricing breakdown: $8 items: - har gow (4 pcs) - siu mai (4 pcs) - black bean spare rib - pan fried turnip cake - egg custard $9 items: - chicken feet $10 items: - shrimp rice noodle roll I think they no longer have the tripe on their menu anymore bc I couldn't find it on their online ordering. Also their chili oil was priced at $0.98, which was kind of small, I would do without it next time. ---- The parking was really tough, luckily I had another person with me drop me off then I ordered and then we double parked waiting for it to be finished. The inside of the restaurant felt like an elevated dim sum place, things were neat and a darker ambiance which felt more intimate if you decided to eat in. We took ours to-go and it was still so good! ---- Overall: if I'm ever back in Pasadena I'll be sure to stop by for dim sum, classic dishes with an elevated taste, pricey but worth it

Perfect family dim sum experience for us…read more We took out my parents and in-laws for dim sum: my parents' very first time ever. We did wait about an hour, but honestly I didn't mind at all because it gave us a chance to relax, talk, and catch up as a family. Once we were seated, my parents were immediately impressed with the decor: elegant and cultural without feeling overly modern or cold. And can we talk about the tea kettles? They looked like literal pieces of art being poured at the table. Ordering was super easy with the QR code system, so my husband handled the whole spread: shumai dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, and more. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ENTIRE table agreed on one thing: the chili oil condiment deserves to be sold in bottles to take home. It was that good. Smoky, just the right amount of spicy, and addictive. Now for the real test: my in-laws. They've been to *many* dim sum places and are not easily impressed. They declared this place to have the best chicken feet that they've ever had: meat easily sucked off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perfectly seasoned. High praise coming from dim sum veterans. Most importantly, my parents' first dim sum experience couldn't have been better. They loved everything from the ambiance to the food to the overall experience. My husband and I want to come back to explore more of the menu because there's clearly so much more to try

It's not often I get to go to these full service banquet style Asian (mostly Chinese) restaurants but I miss going to them as a kid with my family. The service from the folks who sat us and the ladies taking our order was great from the beginning. So friendly! For myself, I got some milk tea to wash down all the delicious food we ordered. Although we didn't do any of the specials that required ordering a day or two in advance (the braised morel and chicken soup or the winter melon soup), I think we ordered really well! As a group, we ordered: -Sauteed water spinach with spicy bean (needed some veggies) -Cantonese style mapo tofu (classic) -Spicy salt shrimp -Chestnut and chicken in clay pot -Lamb and bean curd hot pot (soup) -House special Vietnamese style lobster (more than 5 lbs), with added noodles I thought everything was tasty and just having a variety like that in a sizeable group makes this type of dining experience such a delight. We splurged a bit with the lobster and without it or per person cost probably would have been a lot lower, but sometimes you have to splurge and with a dish like the lobster here, it's a good one to do so!

The food is consistently good, honestly better than a lot of nearby places that charge quite a bit more. What won me over right away, though, was the breakfast combo. Two dim sum items and a hot drink for just $14 is a genuinely good deal. A cold drink is only $1 more (typical HK practice), and you can also take your drink to go for another $1, which is a nice little convenience. I'm pretty particular about milk tea, so I don't say this lightly: their half coffee, half milk tea really hits the spot every time. It's balanced, and satisfying. Beyond the combo, they also serve all the comfort staples, porridge, fried chow mein, Chinese donuts, and my personal favorite, rice noodles with a variety of fillings. It delivers the same comforting flavors you want from a casual dim sum-style breakfast, but without the inflated prices, long waits, and hectic atmosphere that have become so common at more traditional dim sum spots. This place is a solid, dependable replacement for the usual dim sum experience. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the service is consistently warm and welcoming. The driveway can be a little tricky. It sits right next to the Taco Bell drive-through exit, separated only by a fire hydrant, so it's easy to miss or get confused when pulling in. But it's a small tradeoff for a spot that delivers this much value and consistency.
