    Lobster roll

Relatively small place just off the village free . Really nice lobster roll - well filled and not at at skimpy on the lobster

    #2 Italian

We stopped for a quick Italian sandwich and clam chowder in between hikes. Both were delicious! The service was overall quick considering there was a bit of a line. Overall, the food was good. However, $30 for one sub and a side of clam chowder soup seems on the pricey side.

Walking through the door, you will be smitten with Patrick (Irish ) greeting everyone and taking the orders. The food did not disappoint ~ we had the clam chowder (), followed by an Italian sub and lobster roll (best price and tastiest that we had so far, 3rd one to be fair). We looked up the place and discovered it is owned by a veteran ~ always happy to support our veterans !

I currently just ate this italian sandwich. This is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my entire life. And I am a sandwich fanatic. The sandwich was unreal. There was fresh warm garlicy bread, crispy mozzarella, a good amount of meat, and marinated tomatoes. This was unreal, I couldn't recommend more.

Clam chowder and the ONLY acceptable oyster crackers at Lunch in Bar Harbor, ME.

I love this place SO much. I recently took the family on a trip to Maine. We only had one day in Bar Harbor and Acadia, but our trip was 100% planned so the timing allowed us to get to Bar Harbor at just the right moment to, well, get lunch at Lunch. Their sandwiches are incredibly tasty and creative. But my god, their clam chowder is to DIE for. So, so, so good. Plus, really nice atmosphere in their little establishment and the staff is so friendly. Cannot recommend this place enough. Wish I could be there more.

#2 panini: grilled tandoori chicken, curry slaw, chef's roasted garlic aioli
    Clare C.

This was exactly what I was craving for lunch!! It has the most perfect lunch sandwiches. I ordered the #2 panini with grilled tandoori chicken and roasted garlic aioli. It was delicious! Perfect crisp and crunch of the bread with the wonderful garlic aioli. Inside has some places to sit and it is cute inside. The food took about 10-15 minutes to come out. Prices were very fair for ~$13 for the sandwich. I left so happy and wanted to come back! Love it here!

Maybe the best sandwich I've ever had!!! So much flavor also great music playing and located right in town. Perfect to grab to go before a hike at Acadia

    Mortadella pesto

Very cute space with a very friendly staff- have a sandwich or salad to please most people. We got the pesto mortadella and it was really good. We added balsamic and i think it needed it to cut the richness but it came out fast and hot. Great spot after a hike'

The staff just doesn't acknowledge you as a customer until they are ready to take your order. I expected better. We were going on a whale watch tour next door and wanted to get some good food to take with us...we would be disappointed. I paid $15 for the smoked salmon bagel and it was horrible. Couldn't even taste the salmon let alone the smoke. It was mostly onions and tasted of onions and cream cheese more than anything. My coffee was $4 and lacked complexity, refills were $1. The blueberry muffin was gluten-free and for all of the stuff we got with blueberries in it while in Maine, these did not taste fresh or local. The English muffin was the worst thing...maybe it was the gluten free bun, maybe it was the toppings...just not great. The one that that was good was the Choco boom. It was like a breakfast chocolate milkshake. All this cost $50 so once you add in a tip which it defaults to 25, 20, and 18 as your options, it's a $60 breakfast that wasn't as good as a hotel breakfast. The inside of the store is super small, I'm assuming most people want to eat outside and look at the bay. But the inside is so small even with the short line (2-3 people in front of us) the layout was very awkward and people were getting mixed up where the line was supposed to go. I'll skip this place next visit to Bar Harbor.

We showed up on a Saturday at 5 o'clock end of August and got right in at Annex which is the same menu and attached. Waiters were helpful and kind, amazing people! Live music was going on at 7 but we left right before, awesome vibes doors to the outside open so it was basically an open air concept since it was a beautiful day. Clam chowder: super delicious and passed the spoon test! (I like my chowders thick so a spoon should float on top) Bangin Shrimp: seasoning and sauce were bangin! Great stuff and the buttery grilled flamed pita added a beautiful touch Cadillac fries: crispy fries with melty cheese, hot sauce, bbq sauce, chipotle mayo and toooed with bacon. We inhaled these. Mac + rac: fall off the bone rips and the Mac was killer. Mixed in with street corn added a great change up and all went so well together. Larger shells cooked perfectly and super cheesy, this was a great dish. Highly recommend, wish I could have tried the Blueberry Pie because that looks insane, was way too full after crushing the other dishes and washed down with a blueberry beer and an extra dirty martini!

The only thing memorable about it was how horrible our experience was. My wife's margarita was basically all mix. My Maine lunch ipa beer was as expensive as buying a six pack. And oh, you want to spend over $30 on an entree? Prepare to be left with a half empty stomach and then expect to gorge yourself on a load of chips that I guess they try and compensate for their lack of originality and tastefulness. Gave it 2 instead of 1 star because the atmosphere and location are nice. SKIP!

We got right in on a Sunday morning, checked into the front desk and let us sit where ever we wanted. Immediately after sitting down we were helped and got our orders in soon after. One of the most impressive parts was the system the waitresses have with the kitchen staff. They scream the orders to the kitchen and they get them prepped with out missing a beat, no tickets to read off of, just complete in sync. Now to the food.... I almost licked my plate clean after inhaling the blueberry pancakes with the blueberry syrup (a must and was warm syrup.) I was in heaven! So many blueberries, butter and perfectly cooked. Bacon was perfectly crisped, rye bread coated in butter, normal diner scrambled eggs, very tasty fresh home fries, and a delicious hot coffee. I left extremely stuffed! And food was served quick, not much waiting around. The chowder was also delicious and creamy and passed the spoon test (to see how thick it is.) Had a great clammy tastewhich i love with my chowder. Can't go wrong here and oh ya, the bowl of chowder came with a complimentary blueberry muffin! If we weren't too full at all I would have gotten the muffin grilled with butter. As stated above, the fish and chips is the thing to get here. The fish is clearly fresh (not frozen), cooked to order and has an almost unbelievable level of perfect crisp on the batter that coats it. It's also wonderful to see that they're serving it with some fresh-cut fries as there's such an overwhelming improvement in both taste and texture that you get with fresh (never frozen) fries. The fries are also perfectly cooked with a good crisp on the outside, but still fluffy potato in the middle. They then went the extra step and have house-made tartar sauce and slaw to go with it. It's a simple dish in concept, but this place goes the extra mile to make you something that's both delicious and worth coming back for. The dining room is on the smaller side, so if you have a large party it would be a good idea to call ahead and make a reservation to be sure there's a place for your entire group when you get there. I came a little later in the evening (maybe around 7pm) and found it to be pleasantly quiet, though not empty. I was greeted quickly by the owner and seated quickly.
