I hadn't been to Lupe Tortilla in years but me and my husband went this past week to try a "new" place to us and we loved it. My husband got the steak and enchilada meal and he said that his steak was amazing and loved the enchiladas. My cheese enchiladas were fantastic and our server was nice and attentive! Was very hopeful about this restaurant! Our server was very good; however, the food was very expensive for what you get. In fact, our Tex-mex hunger wasn't satisfied so, after we drove to Austin, we went to Papasittos that evening. I say that because we'd ordered the chicken fajitas at Lupe & were told it was 8 oz (there's no way it even started as 8 oz), then got the chicken fajitas at papasittos that we're supposed to be 8 oz and papasittos' we're literally twice as much as Lupe's. The flavor at both restaurants was great, Lupe's was just unsatisfying. read more

Just got To Go the chicken and beef combo for 2 which apparently is said to be a pound of meat. But absolutely disappointed with the quantity of everything. Supposed to serve 2 but it barely does for 1. Feels like getting to go is like getting fooled. This is my first time here so we asked for suggestions that would have meat, rice and the condiment and I was suggested this. But not cool for $47.58. Food is just average. read more

Well, let me start out by saying, this was THE WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD! The two of us got there around 12:20 and were seated about 10 minutes later. We waited several minutes until a seemingly frazzled server (who will remain nameless) came to take our drink orders. Chips, hot sauce and a bean dip were delivered, but we had to wait about 5 minutes for our drinks - chips, hot sauce, no drinks, not a good combo! There was some confusion regarding the menu; their web site lists a vegetarian menu, but these options were no where to be found on the restaurant's menu. The server insisted they could make anything on the online menu, so we kept it simple: red & green cheese enchilada dinners (btw, cheese enchiladas are shown on their restaurant menu, just not a separate "cheese enchilada dinner" ... doesn't seem like it would be that difficult!). We waited .... and waited .... and waited .... the server came by to refill our drinks, chips and hot sauce and said, "Your order should be out soon. I don't know what's going on in the kitchen, but it's a mess back there." We waited .... and waited .... and waited some more .... our server stopped back our table, apologized for the wait and said, "I'm fighting with them to get your order out." ... OK, strange that there's a struggle over cheese enchiladas, but we continued to wait .... And wait ... and wait ... and wait some more .... then, the server came back, apologized again for the wait and said, "I promise, your order will be out in one minute, I promise!! The cook is adding some more sauce to your plates ... he didn't like the way the plates looked(?), so he's adding more sauce." ..... after all the other red flags, this was the biggest! I mean, it's freakin' cheese enchiladas, for goodness sakes!! We waited another 5 minutes and thought, let's pay for our iced tea and get outta here!! So after FIFTY MINUTES, we put a $5 on the table and left WITHOUT EVER RECEIVING OUR FOOD!! Remember, it was only a cheese enchilada plate with rice & beans - FIFTY FREAKIN' MINUTES!! From our vantage point, the whole operation seemed really unorganized ... I wish them well, but we will never darken the doorway to Lupe Tortilla again! read more

Their chicken fajita salad is the best. Huge serving, can be split by 2 people but they discouraged that, it says on their menu, not sure why. As a customer, I should be able to decide what & how I use my money. They practice & comply with social distancing. Menu had good selections. Chips are thin, which are the best & they are served with charro beans (so delicious) & yummy green salsa. Alwats remember to tip appropriately folks. Tough times & everyone is doing their best. We went on a Saturday evening, arrived at 5pm and asked for a table for 10. Our waiter, Francisco, was rude and inattentive. He served 3 bowls of chips and hot sauce for 10 people. Never received a refill on either and forget about water. When it came time to order our drinks, one order was placed and he said, I'll come back when y'all are ready. Seriously?? Then when he served our food, he asked my husband are you going to take this. He wanted my husband to take the plate from him instead of setting it on the table in front of him. We requested clean plates and silverware as we were celebrating 2 birthdays. He never brought any, we had to make due with what was on the table. We barely left him 10% gratuity for his poor service and attitude. You can imagine our disbelief when he changed his gratuity to 20% after the fact. Quick question: how, as a Mexican restaurant, can you run out of rice????? Answer: bad management. After waiting over 25 minutes for an entree, and being told 1/3 of it is no longer available, is ridiculous. The manager didn't even come over to at least apologize. Amazing experience in a new restaurant! REALLY tasty food! The beef and filet mignon fajitas were to die for and presented very well. Homemade tortillas were soo good. The churros were made with an extra slice of love. The atmosphere is really cool too. read more

Our group came in for lunch today- we were seated fairly quickly (11:55am) & our server got us our drinks. After taking our order about 10 minutes later, we sat at our table for 30 minutes- no food. I asked our server- she said it was on time. Not helpful as we were waiting. Asked to speak to a manager- after 5 minutes, Mark came by to apologize & said the food was on it's way. So, total time so far 35 minutes waiting. 10 minutes later, still no food. I asked again to speak to the manager, but Mark did not return. Another 10 minutes passed & we still did not have our orders. All the while, tables that had been seated after us have eaten & left. So, now we have been waiting almost an hour! We needed to leave to get back to work for meetings. I again went to the host stand & asked for a manager. Kevin, the chef, came over & apologized, stating his kitchen couldn't get food out. But, other tables had gotten their meals? That doesn't jive. We decided to leave and get the group back to work & one of us would go back & get the food. When we went back 15 minutes later, it still was not ready! This is unacceptable service! When we eventually got our food, my tacos were not what I had asked for. I was looking forward to trying Lupe based on recommendations from family & friends in Houston, but this was terrible. The Irving staff needs better training for peak times and also accommodating its customers when things go wrong. Don't go unless you have a few hours to waste! read more

We went to give this restaurant a try and OMG, it was delicious! We had the Shrimp and Steak Fajitas and the Shrimp Cocktail for an appetizer. The tortillas were freshly made and delicious. The meat was marinated perfectly and the shrimp with Mexican butter was amazing. One of the managers, Justin, greeted us and asked how everything was... you could tell he wanted to please his customers. And he did!!! We will go back!!! Thanks for a great experience! read more

Wow. They are not kidding. They promise the best beef fajita meat, and until you try it, you will not know what you are missing. On our first night, the manager even came to our table with a welcome sampler of their beef fajita meat and a proud description of how they prepare their meat. The pride of the staff is very obvious. They really enjoy being a part of Lupe Tortilla and are so attentive. It is like a team of waiters and managers all quick to make our visit special and enjoyable. There are garage doors that open the restaurant up to the patio and the feeling of being outside, while still enjoying the cooling of the A/C. In addition to the beef fajitas we also ordered the chicken Poblano nachos, and Tres Leches, both perfectly prepared. Can't wait to come back for another visit. read more

The prices at this establishment are tremendously high, and the food definitely doesn't match it. We didn't even get Chips with our salsa until 5 minutes before our food came out because they ran out and were making more. The Brisket tacos were just meh, and their rice was bland. Beans were cold and awful. The queso was also very disappointing. It tasted like velveeta , and alcoholic beverages tasted watered down. Only reason this isn't a "1" rating is because of the service, it was above average. It was my nieces birthday, and they sang to her.. Giving her free dessert. I want to commend Kristal at the bar. My mom and I visited Lupe Tortilla this past weekend for lunch. at first glance, the menu looks a little pricey, but the food positions are HUGE. So you're getting what you're asking for. Just visited the new Lupe Tortilla in Irving that was recommended by a friend of mine. In fact he loved it so much he asked if he could tag along! I was a lil skeptical about this new place because of its location and never heard of it. Boy it did not disappoint!!! Went around happy hour and we were taken care of by Isreal. He was very attentive and recommended the margaritas and the fajitas. Since fajitas are usually how I judge a Tex-Mex restaurants we decided to share the combo fajitas and they were definitely the bomb Donkey Kong!!! The meat was tender and marinated to perfection! The tortillas were probably the best I've ever tasted. They were fresh and hot and tasted heavenly. To start we tried the queso which was thick and delicious with great flavor. The salsa was thick and just the right spice. The chips were hot, thin and crispy. We tried the frozen and rocks Margaritas and they were both awesome! I'm glad my friend introduced me to this place and I'll be definitely be going to try it again when Addison location opens up in about a month. I was a part of a group of 7 during lunch hour. There was a slight wait 15-20 minute without a reservation. Both the food and service were great! First time here @lupetortilla.com I must say they just opened so this was a soft opening I came by myself traffic was heavy so I decided to stop in... I work right down the street. The condiments the salsa & bean dip salsa was very flavorful I was surprised by the bean salsa it was different but good!!! I ordered the regular queso which was larger than I expected so I added in the rest of the salsa & bean salsa to the queso it was a nice touch, u can taste the cilantro the tomatoes very authentic & has the right amount of seasoning not too spicy, flavors were well blended.. I ordered the chicken taquitos, they were good not over cooked the Spanish rice threw me for a loop this was seasoned with various spices, & bell peppers.. it was good overall the atmosphere was great, I will come back to try out the place ohhh & the frozen margarita nice touch I only needed one. Prices are about similar to Uncle Julio's, the plate sizes are enough for u to get full on... for one person. I came around 5pm it's not too packed yet ... give it time though... read more
