If you're looking for authentic Mexican food in Spanish Harlem, then this is the place you want to check out! Lupitas is great for all hours of the day with a vast variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have live music on weekends and great service. Highly recommend you give it a try! Ps- if you love sopes( their steak sopes are delicious!!!) & highly recommend their shrimp nachos!

Lupitas East Harlem I'm on a roll having Five Star Dining Experiences this week. I had another Five Star today at Lupitas. I was welcomed as soon as I arrived. I was taken through the safety drill complete with having my temperature taken and a few questions in case they need to reach me. Jessica was on the task wearing her mask. She didn't mind me running around taking photos. I said I'd dine in if it was okay and I pointed to a seat for two that was close to the front. Due to my food allergies I ordered the Taco Salad my way. I had a side of sour cream added to use as a salad dressing. Since they don't use ground beef I opted for the shrimp. It was six pieces which is plenty! The salad had cucumbers, radishes, onions, corn, black beans and a tiny taste of guacamole. I could have eaten more black beans for sure. Naturally my favorite part was the taco shell. It was fresh and delicious. No need for desert. In fact I'm so full I won't be eating for the rest of the day! I haven't eaten that much since before last March! Jessica was so nice and the atmosphere is relaxing. The music was traditional and calming for eating. Since I was the only person dining in I felt safe. I arrived when they opened up at around 11am. When I left the place was still empty. Come in and enjoy people. This place is great food! I'm recommending. They have take out and delivery too!

High quality Mexican food is very common in Los Angeles. But it is a little harder to come by in NYC's five boroughs. This was said to me by classmates and fellow transplants from LA. But nevertheless, I made it one of my missions to find the good Mexican food places in NYC. Lupita's is definitely on the good list. I found this restaurant listed on my UberEats app. I was craving chilaquiles, and so that is what I ordered. The food was outstanding, as expected. The eggs, the chicken, and the chilaquiles were freshly cooked and very flavorful. The green sauce was spicy, and reminded me of the chilaquiles that I had in Merida a few years back. I was left very satisfied, and impressed by Lupita's. If you ever crave good Chilaquiles, give this place a try!

I order food for delivery a late snack, I order the pozole soup which is a hominy soup with pork came with two beans tostada. Delicious and hot, I love the fact that the food was actually hot. All the extra ingredients to season your soup. We also ordered the pancita soup it was delicious as-well but it is spicy. The pancita came With warm tortillas on the side which is a plus. I loved it and the delivery guy was very polite. Will be ordering from here again.

Superb. Some of the best nachos I've had in New York City. $13 with a bottled Victoria Lager and I am almost as happy as I've ever been. The nachos start strong with a generous layer of hearty, freshly fried tortilla chips. And! They didn't get soggy! Not even with all the buttery black beans! Or the decadent, juicy carnitas! The cheesy top layer was a stringy combination of Oaxaca and mozzarella so it had a really sexy pull to it. I will also say that the nacho plate had a great ratio of chips to creaminess to acid for freshness. However, I drowned mine in their house tomatillo salsa because it was good enough to bathe in. Finally, it is responsible to advise that Lupita's won't likely be the most graceful dining experience. I loved walking in to a full restaurant at 3 pm - a definite good sign - but the server was clearly overwhelmed. While the food came out fast and hot, everything else was a challenge. Who cares though I'm so happy. Happy hour starts at noon!

    Tacos!!

Visited Lupitas on a Tuesday because Tuesday's are for tacos, duh! The space isn't huge, but has a full bar you can sit at in addition to the dining tables. That night, my waitress was also making the drinks and cleansing the tables, which meant slower service despite how empty the restaurant was besides us. Not sure if this is a regular occurrence but I would hope there are other workers who can take on bartending and cleaning tables. It may save money, but definitely effects the quality of service. Either way, get your boo boo! Now food, the food was good but not the best Mexican that I've had in E. Harlem. I had the shrimp tacos which the waitress said came with a chipotle sauce and avocado. For some reason I though this was in addition to the normal lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, etc. But no honey, it was chipotle covered shrimp with a few slices of avocado on top. The chipotle sauce was very spicy which I wish they would've specified but overall it was just underwhelming. The size was too small to even enjoy. I also tried some of the nachos and they were also "ok". I didn't have a drink but the happy hour specials seemed affordable. Not sure id return even if I was in the area.

Last night I was craving pretty much everything under the sun and was about an hour deep in the delivery search when I came across Lupitas. Someone had put up a picture of the taco salad claiming it was the was "best taco salad they ever had" so naturally I had to have it. I ordered it with the steak, medium rare, and my goodness everything about it was just awesome. It even comes with some amazing dressing on the side that was perfect for dipping the shell in. The taco salad really hit the spot and put my cravings to rest. As far as the delivery itself goes, I would say it was above average. I accidentally left my apartment number off the order and the man delivering my food was kind enough to wait until I called him back rather than just leave when I didn't answer my phone right away. The order arrived earlier than estimated within 30 minutes (exciting) and it arrived perfectly put together which is damn impressive considering that it was a delicate taco shell salad filled with the works. Overall, 5 star delivery experience for a Sunday night around dinner time. I will definitely be ordering from here again!

I was all for this restaurant. My son and i have been ordering here for almost 2m now. Today is my final day EVER ordering from them again. I was told last time the tiramisu has been a high demand. Which was the case today as i couldn't get one for my order. So i opt for the Chocolate Mousse Cake. HOW DARE YOU SELL MOLDY FOOD TO ME AND MY SON!!! I'm never coming back again an warn others to not go back as well.

Today I find it so hard to find AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD. Lupita provides just that, authentic Mexican food. It reminds me so much of my late grandmothers cooking. I ordered the Pozole soup with regular nachos. It was all made with perfectly. Definitely my new go to. I highly recommend !!

A quick internet search led me to this tiny little takeaway window. There were a few people waiting around for their orders, but the service was quick, and super friendly. The birria was amazing, super tender, perfect seasoning and came with two sauces for dipping. Unbelievably flavourful, and an impressive serving size. Great value for the money. We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.

Decent size Mexican restaurant with some seating in the front and a handful of tables in the back dining room. We started with chips and guac. The guac is large so I understand the price. It was very good. No complaints. The chips could have used more salt though which is always a concern. You'd think Mexican spots would have a tortilla chip down by now. I ordered a steak quesadilla. The steak was tender and had pretty good flavor. I just wish there was more. Especially considering the price. Certainly not a bad quesadilla but the value wasn't quite there. Still, a fine option if you want Mexican food and you are in the area. I'd say the 3.5 rating is pretty spot on.
