We came here because of restaurant week but we were familiar with the brand of hotels, which we adore, Lure is housed in. We were greeted in a kind and friendly manner and seated quickly for lunch. Our waiter was equally jovial. The service was great, we felt attended to at all times, no problems with water refills or anything we needed at all. I started with the squash soup which was fantastic and really stands out as being special. This place was better than I had expected. There weren't a ton of reviews online and some were mixed but we had a great experience there. The service was on point and staff was very knowledgeable, the drinks were strong, the fish/shellfish and produce were very fresh, and the sides/desserts were great to share with others. Loved that the oysters weren't sandy which can happen sometimes and that the lemons were perfect. It's on the pricier side but worth the money if you're looking for a nicer dinner. read more

If I could leave a lower star rating for service I would. Traveling and sat down at the bar. Asked for a high end bourbon and was greeted with "$60". I asked if they tell everyone that or if he chose to just tell me that and his response of "I'm the asshole on the hook when people see the price and don't like it" made me pay and leave. Their excellent service and outstanding menu definitely made our first visit enjoyable and memorable. My husband and I shared everything we ordered.All of the dishes were beautifully plated. The salmon tartare was delectable and a nice starter. The salad was delicious with sesame crusted tuna which was seared to medium-rare perfection. The miso glaze seasoned the salmon very well. I had the gossip girl n/a cocktail which paired well with this fall menu. Desserts are a can't miss. To give a full review I need to come back for an entire dinner experience. The sushi we had for a small snack on patio. We are currently trying all local spots for 2 sushi rolls at each place. Excellent spot for a post-show happy hour. When I walked into Lure on a Saturday, I was warmly greeted. I remember this spot from its previous incarnation as an upscale burger joint. This current concept (seafood/raw bar) is just what this area needs. I was handed a menu for happy hour, since it was at the cusp of 5 pm. Good to know: Lure offers happy hour specials (food and drink) Monday-Sunday at the bar from 4 pm - 6 pm. These are very generous hours, given that many restaurants in this area have pared back their happy hours. The nautical decor felt fresh, and I had no problem nabbing a seat at the bar. My Old Fashioned hit the spot on a brisk February day. It came garnished with a peel, but no cherries. On the appetizer side, the Bash slider was a standout. I can't wait to come back to try the sushi rolls. It is evident that Lure takes its seafood offerings seriously. While seated at the bar, I heard one of the patrons remarking that the menu features Littleneck clams--the first time she had seen this specialty outside of the Long Island/NYC area. Despite others reviews our experience at Lure Fishbar was excellent. It was my 59th Birthday and we traveled an hour for the experience. Asian snapper for two, clam chowder, deviled eggs with caviar and lobster sushi roll. My husband found the clam chowder to be watery. Also, the valet needs to be better detailed and and defined especially, for individuals that do not frequent downtown Chicago. I really wanted to like this place. I came here for my 30th birthday. I don't expect perfect food or service. I understand there are labor challenges and shortages. But the prices here are too high for the lack of service and mediocrity of the food. The calamari was waaaaay too battered and overfried. The sauce was too thick. The seafood tower had some reasonable quality items but the seafood salad and tartar were barely edible. The tuna used on all dishes was chopped up in a way that made the texture mushy and flavorless. The waiter didn't once ask if we enjoyed our food or how we were doing. If he did, I would have been happy to let him know. He only asked if he wanted to order more and was really pushy about it. I wanted to like this place. I wanted to looooove the food. I love la Lure Fishbar in New York, but this one, no, thanks. I had the seared tuna salad, and while the salad was OK and the dressing actually was fantastic, the tuna was verging into iridescent. I would've sent it back except the service is so abysmal I couldn't get anyone's attention. I was a single diner, the restaurant had maybe four or five tables, and I watched everyone else's tables, get their water refilled while I didn't even have a drink order taken for the first 10 minutes, Had to wave someone down after another 15 minutes to put my order in. Super disappointing, but no surprise that the place was extremely empty at 12:30 on a Thursday and lots of other restaurants in the area were enjoying quite a lunch crowd. read more

Started out with the Deviled Eggs, Butter Lettuce Salad and Yellowtail Jalapeño Rolls. For an Entree I had a Bash Burger with the Yukon Made Potatoes. Then had a S'mores Cake. This restaurant was in our hotel and it was late so it was convenient for us to pop in for a late night snack. The sushi was terrible. The pasta was okay. Definitely not enough uni. I think Lure is a bit overpriced for what you get. It tries to be very upscale and fancy but it's attached to the hotel and the food is just okay. We're staying in the 21C Museum and popped into Lure Fishbar which is located in the hotel. Was impressed by the quality of food, wine and service. Of note: the Steamed Red Snapper, Caesar Salad with its light tangy dressing and the large portion of delicious, fresh tempera shrimp. My breakfast of fluffy mushroom omelette was great as well. Happily we arrived just in time for happy hour for the $2 Blue point oysters and $12 cocktails. It was delicious and yet so reasonably priced for downtown Chicago. After happy hour, we then availed ourselves of their $59 restaurant week offering of tuna tartare, a filet mignon, or salmon and choice of carrot cake or chocolate warm chocolate cake. The food was prepared expertly and tasted as good as it looked. The service was attentive but not overbearing and the bar service was exceptional.
