Right as I walked in, I was greeted by Vanessa, who was incredibly sweet and welcoming. She immediately asked what I was looking for, so I felt taken care of right away. ​After a little while, another employee named Shoup stepped in to show me around. She was absolutely lovely, so helpful, and incredibly informative! She walked me through the different products and introduced me to a fantastic shea butter massage bar, which I just had to buy. She also showed me their amazing lip balms and mascaras. ​The entire experience was wonderful. I truly felt valued as a customer, and the whole team was so kind and welcoming. i would honestly give less stars if this location wasn't always well stocked -- but we tend to get no help from the workers here. we've stopped by this location ~5 times to stock up on our favorite items and never get greeted (although they happily greet other folks who walk in after us), never get asked to help, and basically always wait at the register to checkout with no sense of urgency, although there isn't a line. our issue is having to flag a worker down for any help with directing us to where the items we want are or getting a sample of something we may want to try before purchasing...which is so odd to us as we never have this issue at any other location we visit (pleasanton, emeryville, and palo alto). read more

Stopped in to pick up a tub of my favorite Lush body scrub, Ocean Salt. The store was pretty empty on a Tuesday morning. There were two sales associates at the register involved in their own conversation. I was relieved they were preoccupied because Lush staff can be overbearing sometimes. I did a quick circle around the store to see what was new. Their offerings included Wicked: For Good themed products, such as bath bombs, soap, and bubble bars in the shape of the tin man, lion, flying monkeys, and more. I didn't buy any but thought they were pretty adorable. The sales associate had trouble ringing up my body scrub due to an issue with the machine. She remained calm and professional as she tried again and again to ring it up, only to get an annoying beep every time. (I would have been swearing and banging on the stupid thing.) Eventually she suggested we use a different register, and that one worked perfectly. I was already impressed with her when she gave me a sample of Sticky Dates body lotion to take home. I got a little too excited about it because I haven't received a Lush sample in many years. There was a time when they used to hand them out liberally when you made a purchase. The good old days. Overall it was a pleasant experience, even with the broken register, and I plan to keep buying their products for the foreseeable future at the Valley Fair store or at Oakridge. read more

I had an amazing experience this weekend at the Lush in Valley Fair. All the ladies were warm and attentive but I absolutely must give my shoutouts to Yasmeen, Vanessa, and Sophia. Yasmeen was our girl virtually the entire trip, recommending products according to our interests and needs and demoing them beautifully. She was incredibly knowledgeable and an absolute joy to shop with. Vanessa took one look at our basket while browsing--we may have been stocking up!--and knew we needed to get on Lush's reward system through their app. Which was perfect, as we did make quite a big purchase and the resulting points were wonderful! Sophia was also super cool while we were checking out their perfumes and was able to help steer us in the direction of the fragrances we'd better enjoy. Not gonna lie, coming to Valley Fair is an absolute chore to park and get here, but going to Lush is the #1 highlight. I can smell the store from the Gap store! The lovely aromas to the delightful and aesthetically pleasing displays Lush is like a fever dream sometimes. I always like to come here to restock my bath bombs and body products. I love that there are three or four different sinks in the store so you could wash your hands or try out any of their products with an associate. I really love their customer service which is Top Notch especially Diana who brightened my entire week with her sweetness and kindness, like the best! Diana help answer all my questions and even help me find products and even recommended me some that I think are going to be my new favorites! read more

Love this location! They are the NorCal flagship store so they are always well stocked and on point with customer service, with friendly, knowledgeable employees who are often demoing new products. Bathtime is a super important self care rituals, so I always keep my place well stocked with bath bombs, bubble bars, soaps, and shower gels, many of which are from lush. Some of my favorite products here from my 10 years as a lushie are the Sakura and lush pud (sadly discontinued) bath bombs, the happy hippy and cempasuchil shower gels, the wash and grow and bright side bubble bars, the baked Alaska soap and of course, the entire sleepy line!! (Iykyk) They do brand collabs all the time -- some of the recent memorable ones have included collabs with Mario brothers and wicked. From the wicked line, they really went all out to satisfy wicked fans, with a soap shaped like the wizards castle, a bubble bar in the shape of glindas tiara and a bath bomb of Elphabas hat! They also have otherwise discontinued lines that you can't find anywhere else, like the comforter shower gel, American cream conditioner, and the space cowgirl bath bomb. If you ask nicely, the employees are generous with sample too so don't be afraid to ask. Shout out to Nicole for being awesome! read more

I've been a loyal customer to Lush and this particular location for so many years, dating way back before the store's remodel. I've 0 issues at this location and 0almost always come here with my younger sibling so we were both shocked when one of the workers profiled/falsely accused my sibling of stealing by making him empty his pockets out in front of the store today (12/14/24). My sibling and I first walked in then headed straight to the shower gel section to look at their stuff. I came with the intention of window shopping because I already bought so much during Black Friday and needed self-control. Then my sibling and I migrated to the other side of the store where I was sniffing perfumes and I can clearly see him next to ME while he's gaming on his phone. I was eyeing Chelsea Morning or w/e because it was reminisce of Super Milk so I was hovering over there for a while and debated on purchasing it or not. At this point, this side of the store was near empty with just my sibling and I while two female workers were hovering towards the window display and were parallel to the perfume section (presumably watching us). I walk deeper into the store to look at the body sprays while my sibling remained around the perfume area and were in visible view to the female workers before he started walking towards me while I started walking out to him because I wanted to leave, telling my sibling I don't want to be stupid and spend more $$$. He and I are walking out while I talked about not wanting to spend when suddenly one of the female workers stops the both of us then telling my younger sibling to empty all of his pockets. He was wearing a black hoodie and grey Nike joggers so they made him empty EVERYTHING right there in front of store. It was HUMILIATING because the female worker that was accusing us (puffy brown hair, facial piercings) was standing right in front of the store while we were already a few feet outside of the store so this all happened in front of so many people. My sibling emptied out everything without defiance while me? Tiger sister overcame me and I told him to come closer to the girl so she can get a clearer view of his pockets because we have nothing to hide but she just gestured hand to stop and we can go after clearing my sibling. Honestly, this experience ruined the rest of our evening and left me in distraught while it embarassed the living hell out of my sibling. I love Lush but truth be told, I'm never visiting this location again and stick to online ordering if wearing black hoodies results in being profiled. read more

I visited this Lush store for a birthday party. Lush offers a party experience for groups of people where the staff teaches them how to make some of their products. On this occasion, our party made bath bombs. We had about 18 people in our party, and we did the entire experience inside the store. We split into two groups in spaces reserved for our bath bomb workshop. We played games with the staff for the first thirty minutes, mainly hot potato with one of their products. It was fun and engaging, but I thought it took forever. The bath bomb workshop was roughly about 30 minutes, with the staff guiding us every step of the way to ensure we were making the bath bombs correctly. Overall, I thought it was a great and unique experience. At the end, they also gave each of us a gift bag filled with Lush products, including a bubble bar. This comes as part of your purchase so you're not just paying $40 for one bath bomb. They informed us ahead of time that this was their first adult group, and the activity was mainly geared toward kids (at least with this store location). Despite it being targeted mainly for kids, I did appreciate the staff doing their best to adjust to our age demographic. It's a very family-friendly experience, and I highly recommend it! read more

Very friendly staff who helped me pick a moisturizing facial mask (Date Night) to combat the effects of this finicky spring weather. This particular mask has date syrup and organic creamed coconut. Apparently this is but one of the five Lush locations that stock it. The staff member also told me Lush had not had to produce plastic containers since 2014 due to their recycling program. And he gave me a generous sample of Skin Drink to put on after the mask. This is definitely a feel-good purchase especially for Earth Day. read more

Came in to the store looking for a bath bomb and came out with so much good stuff. Was greeted by Jose (love this store and how friendly everyone was is). My daughter got to choose a bath bomb and he showed us this rainbow one that makes bubbles which I would have never picked it. Then we went over to the shampoo bars and got one of those and a sample of the mango bar that you use between washes. Jose continued on with us to the face section and I got a blueberry face mask. I like the products and appreciate the brand ethos of Lush, but it is definitely something I put more in the special gift/treat category rather than for everyday as it can be a bit pricey. My personal favorite product here is the shampoo bars/pucks. There's a good range of scents to choose from, and several that I like, and they seem to be less harsh in terms of stripping the natural oils from my fine/thin hair (which seems more prone to this issue than normal or thick hair), while still leaving my hair feeling clean and smelling nice. It's also great for travel, since it's non-liquid (so no spills or decanting into tiny bottles). If you don't have somewhere out of the way of the streams of water in your shower, however, they do dwindle faster than they would otherwise, which I've not quite managed a good solution to yet. My husband is a fan of bath bombs, so I've gotten him a few from here as a gift, as well--they are enormous, but are also priced as such. The store is always beautifully displayed, and I like that they offer reusable furoshiki-style wrapping cloths as an alternative to disposable wrapping. The employees tend to hover, if that's something that bothers you, although I seem to have an "I'm lost" resting face in general because I get this at stores more than my friends seem to. (And I do usually like to be left in peace to browse because I take a long time to make decisions, so that's a thing I brace myself for prior to entering.) The staff is generally really friendly, though, and chatting with them has sometimes caused them to introduce me to other products (occasionally via samples), which is how I discovered their cuticle butter and their dry shampoo (another favorite, and thankfully the bottle lasts a long time). Overall, Lush is a sometimes store because a lot of their products are on the pricey side, but I've enjoyed just about everything I've gotten there, so it's at least money well spent. read more

Had a great experience here. My daughters always complain that I don't "like stuff" for Mothers Day. I decided to take them here and hand over my credit card so they could pick some fun stuff. The best part was that I was greeted warmly at the door by Nicole who immediately brought me over and invited me to try out the new vanilla custard body wash on me. It was amazing. She walked me around and chatted with me about the various products and educated me. She tried out various products on me and had a warm touch and made me feel pampered. I had a great experience with her earning this five star review. My girls got us a hair mask and a fresh face mask for a spa night for us and also got me some orange hand cream and a face moisturizer. read more

Lush products are high quality and I respect that the company pays their employees a living wage. But- every time I come to this location the staff is rude AF. They act like you're bothering them asking questions. They are so concerned with setting up their products that they don't attend to you. I tried to give this place a chance but the last four times I've visited, it's been a terrible customer service experience. If you want someone to actually talk to you about the products, go to the location at Oakridge Mall cuz the folks here act like they're too good to actually answer questions. read more

We walked in to Lush on a late Friday afternoon as my daughter wanted to shop around. As a male, it's hard to come into places like this is you are not with a female. Well, lush had almost proved that point to me. As I was towards the back of the store, I saw a gentleman helping another couple out with some face washes which catches my attention. I had a few questions for him and waited for him to be done. As he got done with the couple, he asked woman around me if they needed any help which they did not, but didn't ask me. I was standing about a foot away from him but he never even looked my way. Feeling discouraged, I was about to walk out. Well, here came my savior Emily! She asked me if I needed any help and I had let her know how I did and I wasn't even asked if I needed anything by the gentleman but she said she would gladly help me. I explained to her how my face was and what I was looking for and she was very experienced in what she was talking about. We dealt with same skin issues so that was cool in a sense she knew how I felt. She recommended a few face masks and even let me feel them. Unsure of which one to buy, she offered to give me sample of them. WHAT A LIFE SAVER!! She gave me a sample of the one I wanted and told me to try it out before I buy since she saw I was hesitant. We also chatted about skin care routines and how hard it is for a man to keep one but how important it really is. I'll say I never felt more comfortable in a store or happy walking out. I love this Lush location! The staff here is so friendly and really helpful. I really hope they reopen soon for in-store shopping (wishful thinking). Regardless, I went to the Valley Fair outdoor market last weekend. Lush had a nice table set up and the gentleman who assisted me was so nice! He answered my questions (yes, we were both wearing masks obviously, so through our masks) as I was browsing his stand. I have very dry skin (eczema), and sometimes it gets very itchy and I get flareups. I recommended the Dream Cream to me and even gave me a free sample. Thank you so much!
